My first thought ... OMG, did he have to do that in a crowded restaurant???!!!
Then I thought, well, Akash tried first in private, it didn't get him anywhere, so I guess he figured this won't hurt. And it might convince Payal that he's serious and can stand up for her in front of the world ... important, when the world includes his 'hello hi bye bye' class conscious mom.
Khushi amazed, shocked ... Arnav angry as usual *sigh* ... *rofl*
Khushi asks Payal what's happening, and why Payal didn't tell her. Arnav has had enough ... Have you lost it, Akash? You and her sister ... interesting, it's again first about Khushi - Khushi's sister ... so of course he's against it ...
Khushi points out it was Akash who's done the proposing ... Payal tries to shut her up, but Khushi is unstoppable when faced with Arnav *rofl*
Akash tries ... Payal, at least answer me ... and it's Arnav's turn to interrupt ... *rofl* Payash must be wishing their loving overprotective siblings at Timbuctoo!
Some loving tu tu main main happens ... insults are traded, I won't marry my brother to a halwai, I won't send my sister into Laad Governer's hukumat ... Angraz chale gaye, aapko chhod gaye ... some very silly taped titters from the audience ... and Payash have had enough ... they actually manage to silence their troublesome siblings ...
Akash repeats his proposal, says he loves her, and Payal replies back ... if Arnav's taunts had not happened, she might have just said no and walked off, but I think Arnav's taunts, which were obviously directed at Khushi, reminded Payal how much Khushi and their family have suffered all because of this one man ... so she lets him know it! Khushi tries to stop Payal ... she doesn't want Payal's broken wedding to be revealed publicly ... but Payal is unstoppable.
Bravo, Payal! Although I wanted the topic of Payal's broken wedding to come up, and be a factor is changing Arnav's mind, I never throught it would come up so soon.
And Payal rocks ... what do you even know about me? Do you know my wedding broke the day of the marriage? What my family had to face because of that? Why we had to come to Lucknow? And if you don't, he does ... gesturing to Arnav, who looks guilty as hell ... he can't meet her eyes ... I'm talking about the day you ...
Khushi stops her ... and Arnav sinks further ... yes, he knows the day she's talking about all right. Akash is puzzled ... The Gupta sisters leave after Payal repeats her 'no'.
Akash Arnav ... Akash makes a brave attempt to talk business, Arnav says he'll handle it, showing for once sensitivity to his brother's feelings. Akash leaves, and Arnav's fb's start ... their first meeting, when he behaved like a brute ...
Why didn't I listen to her? She was telling the truth ... because of me, her sister's marriage ...
Khushi decides not to go to RM, Payal doesn't want to talk to her ... so she talks to Devi maiyya instead, trying to figure out what is in Payal's mind ...
Akash lost in his payal, and his thoughts ... Arnav sees him ... Payal refused Akash twice, she said he had no reason to love her, but is there any reason for love? And Akash asks Arnav again, why did Payal's marriage break, she said you know ... And Arnav feels worse. So he reconfirms with Akash one last time ... I don't understand all this love business, do you want to spend your life with her? and Akash says yes, he's sure. So Arnav will get the deal done.
Akash - what deal? *rofl* Akash, me too, me too wanna know that. Besides, Mr High and Mighty ASR, shouldn't you check on the girl's feelings before you make that decision? All girls are not like La, who will agree to anything you say.
Khushi still doing the engagement work, then Arnav calls, he wants to meet her ... she retorts that Payal said no, end of matter. Payal said no, but Akash isn't willing to hear it, so Arshi have to meet. And don't tell Akash or mami ... good, good, I liked that, Arnav knows that Mami will be big stumbling block ... if he can get over the first hurdle which is KKG ... she puts down the phone on him, leaving him spluttering ... and her annoyed, what does he think of himself?
And then she sees Payal, and wonders ... Payal said no, but did she mean it? And she discovers that Payal didn't mean it ...
So Khushi backtracks, anything for her sister's happiness ... she calls Arnav at the same moment as he is calling her ... cute scene, when Arnav gets annoyed and jealous, why is her phone busy, is she talking to her fiance? And when she calls him, that's the first question he asks her, who were you talking to?!
So they meet ... love that waiter ... he is so asking for trouble!!!
The scene was sweet, and again showed some changing equations ... for the first time, they meet as equals, on his turf ... a meeting in what could be called normal circumstances, rather than the usual heated exchanges, either passionate or anger-filled ... and the awkwardness shows. Khushi shows her unsophisticated background - didn't feel that was necessary, tbh, hope they're showing it not just for laughs, but as a backdrop for a makeover sometime later in the show ... though with GH and his brand of 'comedy' one can never be sure ... :(((
And she admits he was right, he says, VERY unfairly that he always is ... really, Arnav??? When not an hour back you just admitted how wrong you were about her?!
The chai biskut bit was okay, avoidable again, but Arnav is tolerant and amused, rather than condescending ... when you finish your important conversation with chai biskut, can we talk about Akash Payal?
And they agree about getting them together ... deal? Khushi as aghast as Akash ... Arnav still has a LONG way to go to redemption ... but at least, he's made a start.
