The La chapter ends ... and Arnav Khushi have to start anew. How will they do it?
*edited*
La farewell ... more of it ... last few words of wisdom to Arnav ... if love comes into your life, hold on to it, don't let it go, because love is much bigger than hate ... and a shot of Khushi walking out ahead ... a sign of things to come?
Why did Khushi have to carry the luggage? Still the hired help? Worse still, where is Arnav's chivalry?
A sensible conversation between Khushi and Payal, where for once, Payal is the caring and sensible older sister ... first worried about Shyam, did he say anything to Khushi, she was alone without the Guptas in RM. But Khushi doesn't want to talk about Shyam at all , for her, he is a closed chapter, he is Anjali's husband, and nothing else for them. As usual, she wants to forget the unpleasant things, and only look forward to a better tomorrow. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear Shyam is going to let things stay that way, he is far more obsessed with Khushi than that.
Payal then asks about La, Khushi says La didn't accept her help this time, and Payal advises her sensibly, that one can only interfere so much between two people, no one can know exactly what happens between a couple, and it's better to accept that. Khushi agrees, and both girls hope for the best for La. As for Arnav, Paya starts, and Khushi takes off ... that Rakshas! He should get a girl who can tell him off, keep him under control and tell him everything he doesn't want to hear.
*rofl* does she realise that she's describing herself? Her feelings for Arnav still masked by her very real affection and concern for La ... no, she's not going to tumble into love with him so soon, in fact, the reverse ... denial is still very strong.
Payal remonstrates, and Khushi teases her that she's defending her jeth ... and adds almost affectionately, with a smile ... he is a Rakshas all right.
Next morning, Arnav checking on La ... says final farewell on the phone, then sees Khushi's present.
Laad crossed out on the letter ... a gift to help him change tires in life! And a car maintainence manual ... in Hindi, which he can't even read ... What the ...
Good pair - she can't speak English and he can't read Hindi, they both need some education!
Anjali's tubelight finally lights, she accepts his decision, for it's a lifelong decision. Arnav is relieved, but doesn't want to hear any 'saansein ruk jayehngi' stuff!
So he still doesn't want to accept his feelings for Khushi ... still in denial. Doesn't even want to think that Khushi had anything to do with his decision of breaking with La.
Both are back to square one ... at this rate, their love story will take a lifetime!
Anjali has the first lot of Payash wedding cards ... Arnav needs to deliver the second one to the Guptas. Arnav agrees without any fuss ... after all, Khushi will not be coming to RM now, he needs an excuse to see her, doesn't he?
Anjali sees Khushi's book, and wonders ... Arnav doesn't tell her who it's from ... wilful lying ... he actually says, 'someone' gave it, when he knows very well who did ... very deliberately hiding this from Anjali. Anjali translates for him - car maintainence manual ...and the bell rings for Arnav *rofl* don't tell me he actually didn't understand that much from the book cover?
And he gets up immediately and heads off to the GH ... methinks the reminder of Khushi was too much, now he just wants to see her!
Khushi and Payal fooling around with towel, Khushi playacting as usual .. let me teach Jiji how to act all loving ... now where did you learn all that, Khushi? And why do you never put it into practice for yourself?
Khushi was cute, but why is Payal so solemn? Hasn't she lived with the playacting Khushi all her life? Would have liked it if she had been a little more responsive, or at least smiled and ticked off Khushi that she was not going to play - would have lifted the scene and made it cuter.
Okay, Payal heard me, she told Khushi, how can I give you the towel, you have it already ... and Khushi quickly exchanged props, though Payal did try to outwit her.
And Arnav bitwa lands up, shades et al. Cat got his tongue? Sits quietly while Payal explains about being alone at home ... why doesn't he say anything or hand over the card? Or is he waiting for Khushi?
Convenient phone call ... just as Khushi starts yelling for towel and Arnav bitwa of course can never leave his lady love's calls unattended ... so he wanders into her bedroom ... like, seriously, Arnav?! Scene starts degenrating here into typical GH silliness ... Khushi goes on with her bakbak, Arnav looking like a startled sheep here, wondering what to do ... then he actually believes Khushi and her nautanki about freezing and knocks on the bathroom door, Khushi yanks him in ... and then, very sensibly screams her head off ... I would too if I found I had yanked a guy into my bathroom instead of my sister ...
I said yesterday that Shyam was up to something ... sure enough he is. He is not going to let Khushi go so easily. So first step, playing on Anjali's phobias ... fear for his life, and she promptly organises a puja ... while Shyam faithfully promises to do exactly what she wants ... as she is doing exactly what he wants her to do. Master manipulator is back in action.
Gupta house - Khushi's nautanki degenrates into stupidity ... *head desk* agree she should scream, but what was that ridiculous running on the spot?! Made the otherwise ok scene degenerate into totaly idiocy.
Arnav points out she's wearing her clothes, she's still indignant why he came into her room in the first place ... now that was understandable!
Payal remonstrates her idiot younger sister to behave herself and not get so hyper, Arnav listens to his older sister, and is taken aback again - what? He has to bring Khushi back with him? Oh well, ok ... he'll do it.
So he says his polite farewells to Payal, then back to sadiyal normal self with Khushi ... if you're done playing with that towel, you're coming home with me.
And they really have come a long way, because neither now even try to hide their familiarity and ease with each other ... not in front of Payal, anyway. He doesn't need to be polite with her, and she can be equally rude back and say exactly what she likes to him.
And Shyam confirms that Anjali has done what he wanted - called Khushi over to RM. What is he planning?
Khushi refuses to go ... you're just going to get angry with me again and tell me to get out, Arnav says, it's Di who's calling you, not me, ... she still refuses and he stalks out. Payal tells her she can't refuse, now it's a rishta between the two families ... again Khushi did try to stay away, but now the next reason for going to RM is in place ... and one she can't deny. So she scurries out to stop Arnav with bad grace ... okay, I'm coming ... scurries back to get her bag ... comes out, scurries back to get her dupatta ...
Awkward silence in car, Khushi tries to explain her playacting about the towel, then gives up ... and Arnav breaks his silence to tell her La reached safely and said to tell her. Khushi is silent ... the ghost of La is still very much between them ... Arnav barks at her again irritated by her silence ... he can take her bakbak but he really can't stand to see her quiet, can he? And then he notices her 'dupatta', backs the car, and tells her to get out!
At first watch, I was irritated by the episode, the much anticipated bathroom scene turned into a total farce, added to which the unnecessary Khushi nautanki of running on the spot.
But on re-watch, apart from that one very stupid scene, the rest was actually okay and pretty much in synch.
And again two parallel tracks starting ... Mami's new nephew and his nautanki, and Shyam's new antics. All that is very well, but when will they progress Arshi? The Arshi relationship is the core of the story and it seems to be stuck in a time warp.

La: Bye Finally! Last time they broke up, the next morning he had a relieved look on his face and was back to work as usual. This time, HE Calls to check if she is okay & asks her to take care. Changes in him are subtle and I suspect, no body in his own family or Khushi have realized this - That he is changing..for the better.
ReplyDeleteBathroom- Till she locked him, it was okay, after that her reaction, disappointed to put it mildly. Not blaming Sanaya here, but CVs have to start putting some effort towards Khushi.
After Diwali episode and all the Rabba ves, I expected a subtle change in her, growing awareness of herself as a woman especially around Arnav. Infact, I feel she was more in control and aware of herself as a woman during Teej and the locked storeroom epis than now. I don't want her to change her outlook towards life, her chirpiness, all those qualities that endear her to us. But YES, you pull a guy into the bathroom, the least you can be is awkward and not start treadmilling for god's sake.
Pooja-Vrat: Why didn't Anjali call Payal, she is going to the member of the family, shouldn't Anjali have requested Payal so she gets to spend more time around RM etc?
Shyam: We all are expecting a Jealous Arnav. We have completely overlooked a Jealous Shyam(for lack of a better word) haven't we. He is not going to let go off Khushi that easily, the more he sees her in RM now that he can openly do so, the more he might be tempted to go after her. He is completely unaware of Arnav-Khushi equation, so one fine morning he can simply tell Khushi, you have a problem with me being married, I will divorce Anjali for you, all I want is to marry you. The way he oddly worded the other night on Arnav on not wanting to spend the life with someone he does not love, made me wonder.
Lack of Rabba ve: Well, it is barely 48 hours right, so things are slowly coming back to familiar turf, their fights, his impatience etc. The difference I think is from Arnav's side, he would be more aware of his feelings this time.
Car convo: I loved how tactful he is. Unlike Khushi who jumps in he slowly broaches the subject of LA, she has reached safely, I called her and she wanted me to convey this to you. (Meaning, I might have been a lousy BF, but I will be a good Ex-bf or rather more importantly a good friend).
I think having mentioned LA, he might tactfully ask her about her fiancee what went wrong, atleast he would have done that if that Towel thing hadn't happened.
NK: Welcome, let us see if you bring ARhi Together or eat into their airtime.
Will look forward to your take dia.
Shwetha, I just posted and we are exactly on the same page today! Yep, cv's really have to start putting much more effort into Khushi and start changing her maturity levels - she was far more collected and mature during the Teej episodes. The bathroom scene and its aftermath was utterly stupid!
ReplyDeleteI said yesterday that Shyam bothered me ... he is not going to give up Khushi so easily, and by keeping quiet to the Raizadas, she has given him a huge advantage. Really wonder how things are going to progress, but we need some major progress on the Arnav Khushi front for sure, if Shyam is going to be up to his antics again. And this time, he doesn't have to hide from Khushi in RM, so things are getting dangerous for Khushi here.
No Rabba ve ... I didn't expect any, because as you said, it's really far too soon ... but both are back to denial again.
The car scene ... I don't think Khushi jumped in this time, she actually was awkward about the bathroom, so she tried to explain it, then gave up ... but she made the effort, and he took it forward by telling her about La ... which made things awkward again, because she is still angry with him for La. Her own feelings have been very deeply buried, plus she never expected any reciprocation from him anyway. But now with this new entry, I wonder if he will mention her fiance at all, or will he drop it, or will she tell him again that she doesn't want to talk about it. If she clams up, then only Shyam's new plans might get her to open up again to Arnav. Otherwise, because it is Shyam her hands are tied, she can't say a word.
Again, like you, I wonder what role this new entry will play, hope it's not all slapstick GH style nautanki, that's all. I really want to see some change and growth in Khushi now.
Dia: @ Khushi jumping in I was not referring to her in this epi, more like in general you where she barges in without giving much thought to the surroundings. My view is he wants to know about her fiance, so he can't just start with so khushi, what happened, he is the sort of guy who would question you on sensitive questions without them coming off as too abrupt but as a line of thought.
ReplyDeleteI loved LOVED your post above.
Also let me add, Manners took a day off in yesterday's episode.
RM: Even I felt why no one was offering to help Khushi with the luggage. Okay Arnav is caught up with emotions to notice, but the rest of them, if not personally they could have asked HP to help. So I guess we can put it down to creative liberty so ARLA can have a convo with Khushi in the picture.
GH: Hello Payal, Namaste Arnavji. How are you, Would you like to eat or drink something. How is everyone, how is your babuji, sorry for coming unannounced...WT..And here I was looking forward to good convos between the two. Pathetic I tell you.
Arnav at GH: I burst out laughing when Payal opened the door, I swear. Arnav must have thought he would be meeting Khushi and into the house for 2 whole minutes, no sign of Khushi. He would be all dressed up and glassed up and jisko impress karna hai woh gayab, lol.
Missed opportunity: He does not like to dwell on missed and wasted opportunity does he. She tries to explain the towel incident and he is like forget it, I messed up that one.
Shyam: Totally with you, her silence is going to boomerang big time on Khushi. And it was odd that he said you told Saaley saab, I would have thought that the wrath of ARNAV would have been a good enough deterrent. Looks like it is not going to be so.
Mind games in future, I am most loooking forward to Arnav-Shyam ones. Shyam thinking Arnav does not know and Arnav playing along just so he can trap Shyam...Sounds interesting right, wonder it will happen.
What are your views on the cocktail thing?
Shwetha, where is this cocktail news? Have been off the forum the whole day, I've missed it!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to add, *rofl*ed at your comment on Arnav ... all dressed up and shaded for Khushi, and mili Payal! No wonder he sat down and waited ... till he gets his daily dose of Khushi, he's not going to leave.
ReplyDeleteI think Shyam knew that Arnav had gone to Gupta House to deliver the card, so he wanted Arnav to bring Khushi back with him ... knowing that Khushi might refuse to come unless she was forced to come.
Dia, You have not seen this?http://www.india-forums.com/video/television/175623-on-the-sets-of-iss-pyaar-ko-kya-naam-doon.htm
ReplyDeleteArnav is going to throw a south east asian theme cocktail party with alcohol*wink* for Payal & Akshay. Lol, notice how excited akshay is.
Cocktail party: My first reaction...For the Gupta sistersShocked So what will happen - A dance/ Rabba ve moment/Khushi getting drunk/ blurting out something that will make him and us go awww/ a protective Arnav when a guy misbehaves with Khushi or some sort of sanskar lecture.
You know what I don't know what will happen.
I hope it is different this time around. My guess is Arnav is slowly letting the Gupta sisters into the other world of Raizadas. Payal would be expected to attend such parties as a Raizada, so I guess it is Arnav's way of giving an insight to Payal and even Khushi, Raizada Bahu is different than being a Raizada Biwi.
Especially Khushi, you know She has seen him in his office and in his home..But somewhere Else where he is ASR - A guy who is much sought after by the ladies and well respected by the guys, A different side to him - A more professoinal likeable side to him. I get it would be personal party but I am sure his peers etc. would be invited.
I don't want Khushi to be overawed or something, but she needs to acknowledge that there are things and sides to him she is unaware of and he is not universally disliked or fears as she assumes. Dunno If I make some sense here.
Just as we want Arnav to realize the crap she puts up at GH, I would like Khushi to see this other side of him.
*lol, now answer the above* Sorry having a bad cold so lot of copy and pasting today* Will look forward to your thoughts.
I wish I was on a fast the last couple of days, with the filler episodes we have had, atleast I wouldn't have missed food much.
ReplyDeleteAha, arhi eyelock.(good)
WT..ASR with slightly OTT expressions on NK, Barun missed it for me today. Will wait for your post.
Posted ... hectic day, so will wait for your comments there, then reply with more thoughts. But my basic feeling is that these are not filler episodes, they are the base for the next tracks.
