Support - As Khushi struggles to open the door for Babuji, Arnav is there to help. Man of few words, more action - should I get the doctor, do you need medicines ... flowing easy words of comfort, I can't do those. But whatever you need me to do, I can do for you.
She will manage. Because he's there.
Few words, but the emotions there in their eyes.
Slow burn - Buaji (forgetting all about her beloved brother) asks Khushi to call Shyam, and Arnav does a slow burn. Yes, let's get that Shyam guy, let me burn him with my eyes and then rip him limb from limb ... but why is Khushi so slow, so reluctant to call him? And why doesn't she barge into his room to call him instead of knocking? He's her fiance, isn't he? She comes into my room ten times a day without invitation all right ...
Sorry - two apologies. One from Arnav to Payal, almost nixed by an irate suspicious Khushi - Why do you need to talk to my sister alone? And Arnav pushes her buttons all right, he enjoys it, knowing she will rise ... I want to talk alone ...
Alone? ... faltering, wondering, heart skipping a beat ... why alone?
Not you, to your sister ... Said sister is right in front of him, but he chooses to address Khushi standing behind him, just to enjoy her burn ... and sure enough, she does ;-)
Why? What do you need to tell her that I can't hear? Jiji, don't take his side ... sounded like a jealous wife all right!
Payal actually sounded sensible, calming her fiercely protective little tigress cub ...
And Arnav makes his apology, simple, direct - I'm sorry, it was because of me that your marriage broke. I shouldn't have stopped Khushi that night at Sheesh Mahal, it was my fault.
And Payal accepts it very gracefully ... you know what, you actually saved me from being married into a dowry-hungry family, Khushi had gone to meet the guy for my sake, and till today she still blames herself, that it was her fault my marriage broke ...
Instant rejoinder - it wasn't her fault at all ... as protective of her as she is of him ... and Khushi listens with tears in her eyes ... but she's still not thinking about herself. Did he stay back just to say sorry to Jiji? She misjudged him?
So Khushi butts in ... girl, let the man finish what he's saying, he talks so rarely as it is! And Arnav is not ready to apologise to her yet, his list of offenses against her would run into miles, plus his emotions are far more deeply involved, as are hers. So he does what he always does ... runs away from them.
If she would let him. She wants to speak to him, but he's not ready to face his emotions yet. So he tries to browbeat her into quiet as usual, but she's not listening. Well, she asked him nicely to stop and hear her out, he didn't, so she will stop him. Did he really think she wouldn't?
A judiciously applied hairpin does the trick ... deflated tyre and deflated ego.
He's incredulous ... but not angry.
You deflated my tyre because I wouldn't stop to listen to you? Are you crazy?
Yep, that's right, Arnav, she did. If you think she's going to be meek and mild, silently suffering Bhartiya nari types, think again. And you said it yourself - pagal toh hai.
But she did have a reason to stop him ... she made a mistake and so of course, she has to say sorry for it. Instantly. Because that's the way she is.
I just wanted to say ... Sorry and Thank you. Sorry for misjudging what you would say to jiji ...
He looks away ... guilty? Because he hasn't said sorry to her yet ... and his list of offences against her is far longer. And she does know that he's uncomfortable, so she changes the mood, becomes deliberately cheerful ...
And thank you ... for saying sorry to her ... and for helping get her and Akash together.
It's o...
You can go now. I've said what I wanted to say.
He just shakes his head wryly ... this girl is something else.
But he can't leave, she deflated his tyre ...
What? You can't change a tyre?
Why the public announcement, Khushi? Not in good taste. Didn't like that part ... GH and his brand of "bubbly chirpy heroine" :(((
As if you can!
Methinks the kids calling him 'uncle' to her 'didi' was more annoying than the not being able to change the tyre! 'Jijaji' he had absolutely no problem with!
A challenge she has no problem in accepting right away! Living next door to a garage has taught her quite a few tricks! Plus she used to drive her own scooty in Lucknow, after all!
Tyre changed, he is ready to leave. Her parting shot - I should say sorry for deflating your car tyre, but I'm not going to. Read - if you had stopped and listened to me when I asked you to, I wouldn't have done it. You asked for it. No sorry.
Thanks for changing my tyre ... I'm also not going to say that ... Read - You made the mess, you manage it. I'm not going to play hero and do it for you. You asked for it. You deflated my tire, you owed me a new one. No thank you.
Her jaw drops. Did he just poke at her the way she did at him?
He drives off, pleased with himself. The day went well. He got the last word with Khushi.
I wonder if every encounter with her, every ridiculous war of words, every childish challenge leaves him feeling lighter of heart, more lifted in spirit ... more full of life ... and looking more forward to the next encounter ...

Hey Diya.....
ReplyDeleteliked the episode...
"And why doesn't she barge into his room to call him instead of knocking? He's her fiance, isn't he? She comes into my room ten times a day without invitation all right ... "
so true.....didnt realise this at all..
liked the apology scene.....Payal's dialogues were proper....exact words that were needed, no melodrama, no sympathy-gaining....(just wished deepali was as good a actor as Sanaya, would have definitely uplifted the scene)
this will definitely make him think highly about her......as she thanked him for saving her life....
so if she takes khushi's side after the shyam truth....he will definitely think a bit before blaming khushi...
public announcement was bad....its a surprise that he didnt get angry....he has really calmed down a lot.....
Jijaji was more acceptable to him and to us as well.........uncle makes him more suitable for LA.....which i really don't like....:-D
one question though....why didn't he ask happyji to change the tyre...the garage is right opposite the house.......would've given bediji also some business.....hehehe
their nok-jhok are a delight to watch....just like their off-screen masti.....
SaRun are the best jodi on tv, right now....
Geetu :)))
ReplyDeleteEpisode was nice ... lots of Arhi! And for once I liked Payal, her dialogues were good, and her dialogue delivery was decent, though you're right, if she was a better actress, then it would have uplifted the scene a lot more. But so far, whenever Payal and Arnav have interacted, Payal has come across as quiet but firm, and able to hold her own without getting petrified of Arnav - seems to be a trait shared by the sisters! So let's see what happens when the Shyam truth emerges. Payal will probably be ready to give Arnav all the facts without cowing to his temper, I think. Hope so, because Khushi is going to need all the help she can get.
Yep, public announcement was the only part I really didn't like, otherwise Khushi was cute the way she stopped Arnav by deflating his tyre in his full view - NO deceit at all - You may not want to listen to me, but you have to!
As for changing the tyre - the tyre did NOT NEED to be changed, she didn't puncture it, she only deflated it :D ... and with a garage right there! So I think it was more to do with his challenge ...
SaRun are by MILES the best jodi on tv right now ... extremely good looking, and they can BOTH act!!! And in all types of scenes - emotional, romantic, comedy, drama ... everything. The channel has backed a winner here! The good thing is, that even after this show is over (and I think this is gonna go a long, long way), the two actors have made their mark, and we will see them again and again. The fact that within six months of the show, they're in a mainstream ad together says a lot! And Dulux actually uploaded the ad on their official FB page because of the fans demand! Dulux hasn't uploaded the Tej-Toasty one, not when I checked last. So yes, they are hugely popular :))) Again the only show equally popular online as well as with TRP's ... shows its mass appeal :)))
