News of Sanaya

Making this post for the next three weeks, in case any news of Sanaya comes in ... news, rumours, gossip ... anything! I am travelling the next two and a half weeks, in case any news comes in, please add the links here. :)

So far no news ... rumors are strong that she is being pursued by three channels ... Star, Zee and Colors. But this time it seems confirmation will be late in coming ... everything is being kept very much under wraps.

    1. Thanks for sharing this, MB .. Fuzion also points out the widely differing characters she has done :)

It's not even been a week ... my guess is we won't get any news till the AVTA awards.

  2. dia,

dunno which part of the world u will be when u read this note, but i do hope u take some free time to go through my ramblings and rants, and di[shall i call u so?:-)],if u get time,do scribble down a reply,it really means a lot.i know,it has been more than 2 weeks since RR ended.as i told u earlier,i was not around when RR ended.so i just downloaded the epis from tue-fri and watched it in one go last day.[i had read ur farewell post last week though, sorry,AD was keeping me busy.]

u know that i was a silent reader during IPK times, started buzzing in ur blog with rr esp during last april-may,hai na?so i just thought i should share my feelings with u and others here.I APOLOGISE FOR POSTING THIS HERE,BUT,I DUNNO WHERE TO POST THIS,SO POSTING IT HERE SO THAT ATLEAST U'LL REPLY.
i had downloaded and watched the last 4 epis just for sanish and they rocked it.the dance drunken seq.was really intense.had already prepared my mind for this 'thattikoottu'[in malayalam,it means a hurried up/adjusted] ending.
after watching,it really left me with a lot of mixed feelings.words cant express how much i hate the horrible cvs,ST and whoever responsible for ruining an epic love story of parud and for playing with the loyal viewers' emotions since last july, truly, the sadists were emotionally torturing the viewers starting with the leap,post-leap epis, the confusion of myra=paro? and finally ridiculing and calling the viewers 'a bunch of fools'?they seriously don't value the sentiments of audience, such money-minded people!they will know when their future projects go unnoticed/do not get popularity.but sochne ki baat hai, will they even care??

not only the viewers, they also tormented their leads with the leap thing.
one could feel sanaya's frustration through many things, starting from how she was uncomf. in the short clothes, her disapproval of myrud happy ending and esp.her TOI interview,in which she went on to state that whatever was shown was not the original/intented storyline, which was narrated to sanish earlier.in the original storyline[as she said]there was no myra and parud were only there.[SO STRIKINGLY VISIBLE FROM INITIAL EPIS].

i dunno ashish that much, but through his tweets, blognote and the last sanish sbs,he was also upset.he too seemed to have wanted a parud hamesha.waisey, did u see this tweet:
    link: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4183028

clearly indicates how much ST's madness affected him too.

i know dia,ab ye sab baar baar kehkar koi faayda nahin, but its difficult to let go of RR.though i try to restrict myself,i still watch pranayavarnangal[rr's malayalam version]whenever i get time.and it all gives an uncomfortable nostalgic feeling, the background music[the melodious, emotional ones],songs used in RR[bol na halke,rr title song,o rangrez mere, nazuk si naiyya] and so on.u know,i tried a lot,but couldn't resist my tears when i watched the parud dream sequence in the finale week of rr.sanish[esp, sanaya]was excellent in that scene[i hope u UNDERSTAND my feelings dia,ur sis was not like this but rr made her like this].and again I HATE THE INSENSITIVE CVS AND ST!

i know dia,its a fiction and i should let it go.believe me i'm trying too but i guess it will take time.i got the taste of what a commercial serial would be with RR.i shall be more careful next time.i hope u will help me too.i always consider u as my wise, elder sister and i know u will help me out[apologising if i'm bothering u a lot but i had to write down this.]

  3. *CONTD FROM PREV. POST*

i never had this kind of problem with IPK[maybe bcoz it ended with arshi lived happiy ever after and i thank SP for ending it that way, atleast it can be cherished as a good memory in the hearts of the viewers.hadn't SP/fandom not intervened,i can't even think what gul could've done ,seeing what she had done with QH and dunno whatever she's going to do with humsafars?]

i really want to know WHAT THE ORIGINAL STORYLINE WAS?in the beginning days,we all heard that 200 epis were already scripted out.what was it then?for that elusive trps, they compromised with such a potential storyline.i hope somebody comes out in media to say what the original story was.afterall,rr ended and so what's the use in keeping it as a secret?atleast loyal parud fans[like us] would be contented.as for me,i'm sure laila and thakursa had a greater role and so did mohini in the dilsher-mala past.mala track would have stretched longer, ther would've been an aman-sunehri track, more parud romance,MUs,reunions and so on.WHAT DO U THINK DIA?

the 'reviving parud' ff is very good.but it'd have been even more if the story starts focussing on return of myra/paro's memory.hope u do continue it and we get to see what we wanted to seein RR like dhruv's little baby sis/bro.*wink*

waisey,i came across another ff called 'alternate ending of RR'[link: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4169062 ].its ongoing, much complicated situation, yet very interesting.but hope the author will ultimately show parud and dhruv together.if u haven't read it,do give it a try.

right now,i'm watching YHM,EHT,meri aashiqui tumse hi,humsafars[last two both very erratically].i like yhm and mani's character is very good, much better than that of raman as of now.EHT:i like the dev-durga/nitya part of story and simmone singh and dr.dayal's acting too.it'd be interesting to watch how dev will react when he comes to know durga=nitya?do give it a try.if u r not already watching it.do share ur views.

i do want sanish to return together in a long, good serial preferably by sphere origins or ekta.we never had enough of them in rr.[also won't never mind sarun return too!]

i'm missing madhumita,MB,lakshmi, aki, rekha, jaya,su,shwetha[where did she go?] and will be really glad if any of them are still around to scribble down a reply to my post.anyways,i take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for tolerating my rants, and dia, esp, for giving me a chance to voice my thoughts and for being patient enough and for considering me as ur choti sister.i was really happy to see u as 'pride of RR forum' in joseph's appreciation post in IF and when sanaya took ur name in the gift egment.i hope sanaya gets to know abt u and our R&R one day.i'm sure she'll be really glad to meet one of her most loyal and wonderful fan,DIA.

HOPE U DO GIVE A LOOOOOOOOOOOONG REPLY !!!!

    with love,

    ratna.

    1. Ratna,

Just got back home last night, am jet lagged, so if I ramble, please forgive me for that :)

I can understand your frustration and upset, I feel so much the same way. On my trip I met up with two other Sanaya (and Rangrasiya) fans - and this was a major topic of discussion the whole day.

I do feel upset with ST and with the channel. More with the channel, I think ... they definitely exerted a lot of pressure on the PH. My thoughts ... RR was launched amidst a lot of expectations, they spent a LOT of money on the initial episodes, the shooting in Rajasthan, the whole desert set up, the horses, camels, the entire army set up ... all that cost a lot of money. There were reports that the cost ran into crores, and was equivalent to the budget of any decent small budget movie.
So when the initial TRPs were so low, I think it came as a huge shock to the entire team ... it put them all on the back foot, and they never quite recovered. Then after that, the split happened between ST and his partner, and ST kept RR, while his partner took Madhubala ... again more turmoil in the creative camp ... and we don't know whose side the channel took. I feel they took the partner's side ... Madhubala got a lot more leeway than RR did ... but to be fair, MB had higher TRPs in its heyday than RR ever did.

So ultimately it all boils down to the fact that RR never got the expected TRPs. The channel is not running a charity, they are a business, and RR was an expensive product. The initial cost, actors like Sanaya, Ananya Khare, Kali Prasad ... these are well known actors, they don't come cheap.

So while I am still upset that the channel didn't give leeway to RR, or give it more of a chance, I do understand the TRPs never supported it. And it helps me come to terms with the end. Agree that the creatives are completely inept at handling social media ... they made a lot of stupid statements ... I think they should all stay off social media, they only succeed in alienating and angering fans ... but I do understand where they were coming from. If we as viewers, were upset and disappointed with the changes in the original storyline, how much more the cvs must have been, whose brainchild the story was ... and equally so the actors, to whom a completely different story was told. And we had the option of switching off ... the actors and cvs did not ... they had to keep it going till the channel pulled the plug.

I am even more upset that we never got to to see the entire story we were promised. There was so much more to it ... Laila, Nandini and the missing brides, Tejawat ... all those tracks were left unfinished. Paro was not supposed to die ... I could feel Sanaya's upset about that ending, and that helped to reconcile me to the ending of the show - the knowledge that even Sanaya and Ashish were not happy with the way the story was going with the leap, and post leap.

    2. So I guess I am more reconciled to RR ending ... with IPK, I could blame BS, the channel, the producer ... I see QH going great guns after the exit of KSG, first the replacement, then the leap ... and it gives me a heartache that why do these things happen only with Sanaya? If only Gul had decided to go for a leap with IPK, instead of insisting on a new love for Khushi, the audience would have accepted it, including the hysterical BS and Sarun fans ... most of the IPK actors were happy to stay on ... and we might have had a great season 2 of IPK with Sanaya as Arnav Khushi's daughter still on air. Whoever insisted on bringing in a new love for Khushi, spelled the death of the show... whether it was Gul or SP.

But with RR, I can't blame anyone, Ashish, ST, even the channel ... they all gave their 100% to the show ... but those damn TRPs were just never there. If anything, I blame those 8-9000 idiot boxes, and those viewers who keep shows like SNS, YRK, SSK and the likes on air for years on end, while good shows don't get a chance, and neither do producers who actually try to be different. Till this lopsided TRP system is the decider for shows, we can't hope for much improvement in the shows we watch.

Having said that, the writing in RR could have definitely been much better ... shows like DABH are doing well because of consistency in their storyline and characters. I don't watch the show, but everyone who watches it (whether they like it or not!) says the same thing. I did watch Veera very consistently during the first year, and the same thing applied there, the story was well written, the progression was very gradual and natural, and the characters stayed true to themselves. In Rangrasiya, Paro's character needed a lot more attention ... the cvs lost their way when she entered the haveli, and the process of her falling in love with Rudra was so rushed ... one encounter with Tejawat changed her viewpoint about Rudra, fine ... but she then fell into love with him overnight, that part was so badly done. And they repeated the same mistake with Myrah !!! So the cvs need to introspect where they went wrong with the writing ... the thing which made me enjoy the Myrah Rudra story was the conflict in both Myrah and Rudra towards the end. If they had put some of that conflict into Paro's mind, as she struggled with her feelings for Rudra, AFTER discovering he had been telling the truth about Tejawat all along ... and she was forced by the BSD to stay with him ... that would have stretched out the love story, and made it much more watchable. At least, that's what I feel ... I felt the same during the show as well.

Anyway, what's done is done ... just hope the next show Sanaya takes up is strongly female oriented, and is the journey of the heroine, not the hero.

    2. Hi Dharshia

I Know what you mean! I discovered IPKKND in may 2014 and eventually Dia's blog. I have already watched it twice! I have the entire load of 398 episodes downloaded into my computer! I love watching the episode and then reading Dia's comments.
Some of the episodes dont have the blog comments and I wish they did! I really missed them.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the show, its amazing! My favorite love story after Pride and Prejudice.

    3. Hi Dia,

Every time I watch an episode of IPKKND, I come straight to your blog to read everyones thoughts andI have to say this ...

I LOVE THE WAY YOU WRITE !!!

You describe and emote so well about each scene so damn well !!!

I just finished watching last night the mehndi scene and the kiss on the cheek by Arnav as a challenge to her to kiss him back. Oh My Gosh, I'm still gushing about the scene, and I love your blogs !!

Would really appreciate it, when you get a chance if you can send me an email, I have something to ask you offline.

Tania - where did you get all 398 episodes ? I am struggling to find the episodes online. most have been removed.

      Cheers

      Dharshia

    4. Aww ... thanks again! Your last comment sent me on a trip down memory lane ... I went back to read some of my own comments around the mehndi time, and am now planning to re-watch some of the old episodes. IPKKND was really a unique show ... doubt anything will come close to it in a hurry. Gul's new shows are good, but they don't have anything close to the same magic ... her latest offering, Humsafars is a very pale shadow of IPK.

      Emailed you :)

  5. Just realised, while I was travelling, we crossed 800k views on R&R :) Another milestone ... despite the fact that the blog is really not as active as it once was.

Hopefully some new show will excite us enough to get it going again ... now I'm aiming for 1 million views :)))

  6. Two more segments on Sanaya's birthday ... one was clarifying rumors, which I personally felt was a waste of time ... anyone who knows Sanaya at all, or has followed her for a few years, would know she is incapable of lying or deceit.
And those who don't know it, aren't worth the time or trouble.

The last bit, here she spoke about her relationship and her career ... the first bit was very sweet and said a lot about Sanaya, the person ... this girl makes me admire her more every time I see her offscreen. Intelligent, articulate, very straightforward, calling a spade a spade kind of person ... brutally honest, and always ready to admit to her own flaws, but ever-reluctant to say negative things about anyone else ... lovely girl. Mohit is really lucky to have a girl like Sanaya by his side.

The last part was the best ... Sanaya wants to wait for something good, something different from anything and everything she has done before ... which is quite a tough job in itself, as she has done widely different roles already ... from village girl Paro to quiet nerd Gunjan to the scatty, yet lovely Khushi ... and she admits that today she says she wants something different, but tomorrow if she doesn't get anything very different, she might just land up taking what she gets ... because she loves her work, and she would like to get back to work as soon as possible.

Halleluiah! Hopefully this means the wait won't be as long as I had started to fear ... my guess is that by end of the year, we should start getting some more confirmed news, now that the rumors have started.
