8/9 - Epi 180 ... Baby Comes Home

Monday 8th September

Baby comes home ... adoption drama ... Maithili, after signing the documents, gets cold feet, and wants to back out ... Majisa will never accept an adopted baby, and she can't bear to watch an innocent child being insulted and ridiculed for no fault of its own.
Samrat tries to persuade her ... and fails ... so does Myrah. But to no avail.

Rudra asks what's going on and who is responsible. Maithili tells him Myrah arranged the adoption, but now she's scared of what KCM will say. Rudra tries to persuade her, says he will back her, so will Samrat, Maithili shouldn't worry ... she has always shown him the right path, given him the right advice, now it's his turn to support her ... and he will. She just has to take the decision.

Myrah gives up and starts to call the adoption agency to cancel ... and the lady arrives with baby ... apparently Myrah pulled strings to make this adoption go through super quick. And holding the baby in her lap changes Maithili's mind ... her child, her very own child ... her baby, someone to call her Maa.

I have watched many an adoption process happen, watched a mother very much like Maithili take her new baby in her arms and fall in love with her ... watched the new father handle the child awkwardly, his hands gentle, scared as though afraid to break the child ... watched the new grandparents as joy shines on their faces ... I found this scene very touching. Adoption is really a noble deed ... it gives a homeless, innocent child a home, and it makes two people a family.

Rohit also arrives in the middle ... and does a Rudra ... asks Myrah why she's getting involved and tells her to stay out of things ... they are not her concern. Myrah doesn't listen to him any more than Paro listened to Rudra.

That was the main theme for today's episode.

In another fairly pointless scene, where nothing much happened ... Rudra and Rohit sit and drink together like uneasy buddies ... Myrah doesn't want to join them, but Rohit persuades her ... she won't drink, as she doesn't drink too often ... Rohit goes to get her juice, and Myrah exchanges a couple of words with Rudra and falls asleep. Rudra wants to carry her to her bed ... Rohit comes just in time to do the needful.
More jealousy for Rudra? And established that Myrah, despite her being NRI, is a good desi girl ... she doesn't drink ... and she probably hasn't done any hanky panky with Rohit.
Doesn't matter that Rudra has had an 8 year affair, and been married once .... but his new wife must be a 'good girl'.

Meanwhile the pickle chronicles continued ... Sumer managed to trick Shatabdi and get her keys ... and the book for Mohini ... and then had to escort mother and wife for the pickle competition.
Obvious filler scenes ... since the show is winding up and Ashish is still in JDJ, with three performances every week, the CVs are stuck.

  1. Hello ladies,

Another filler episode, I guess. Except for the adoption drama.

One of the reasons why RR failed is the absence of sub-plots. IPKKND too had the same problem. Everyone and everything seemed to orbit around the main leads. Gul was smart enough to wrap up the show before it became too much for the audience to handle. ST did so many mistakes in the chase for those elusive TRPs. Another thought is that the parallel tracks might or might not have worked in either shows. The connection between the lead characters is just too powerful, that the audience ignore the rest of the cast. The RR CVs should have concentrated on the parallel tracks from the very beginning. There were so many opportunities in RR, unlike IPKKND where every single character revolved around Arnav and Khushi. Even when AS was available full time, the CVs were not able to do full justice. I doubt if they could do anything now, given the amount of time they have on their hands. And there are other characters that they need to take care of before wrapping up the show.

Let me just whine, complain and cry like a cry-baby for another 2 weeks. After that, I will behave like an educated, literate youth and stop watching such inspiring work to preserve my educated mind.

    1. Lol ... RS has really rubbed the educated junta the wrong way ... What an idiot he is! These guys should stay off social media if they can't handle the brickbats. Honestly, what an end to such a soulful love story .. Paro Rudra had passion, but they also had such a deep emotional connect, Rudra was always the protector, and Paro the nurturer, unlike IPK where it was actually a lot more about the physical attraction as well.

    2. And they had so many subplots they could have dealt with ... Nandini was a major one left unexplored ... even Laila was done so badly, they made her a regular vamp with no redeeming features, after an eight year relationship ... so was Rudra an idiot that he did not recognise her true nature for so many years? You're right, even with AS there full time, they didn't explore so much they could have.

Anyway, AS is still doing JDJ, and with the last 2-3 weeks, he will want to give that his best shot ..RR is a lost cause. So we will get more of these filler scenes ... they can't even do justice to Rudra falling in love with Myrah, not because she is like Paro, but for herself ... because Ashish is not around ... the one time they tried, Rudra recounted all the reasons for Myrah being Myrah ... but they were a description of Paro ... so either he's forgotten what Paro was like, or he never knew Paro at all, after all that soulmates wala lamba lamba dialogues.

Go ahead and crib ... I will join you!

    3. So true. First GH, then MD, now RS. Atleast the last guy is not so brash as the first two. No wonder the IF junta are so pissed. They have been feeding us crap like poisoned laddoo and fast track pregnancy. They butchered Paro's character first and now Rudra is slowly assasinated. And we are the educated morons now. RS is right, you know. I mean, only an educated moron will take such crap without batting his eyes.

In any industry, there is just one rule. 'CUSTOMER IS THE GOD'. The customer could be an educated moron, an idiot, a brainless fool, or all of these. But still, he is the God. The sooner these people realize this truth, the better for them. Because the customer makes these people what they are right now. Not just RS and GH, but every single person in the industry. Who knows?? RR just might have been a reality check for some of these over-rated people. A beautiful story ruthlessly butchered by a bunch of 'elitists'.

Kya kya bolne ko mann kar raha hain!!!! Magar batana nahin chahthi mein. Poor Indian Audience is all I can say. #SuchIsLife# halath ho gaya hum sabka.

    4. Regarding RS' comment: seriously this guy is astounded that 'educated' people would want a dead girl brought back to life, YOU WRITE INDIAN SOAPS. please,
an exact lookalike of a dude's wife shows up at his home, exhibits several similar characteristics with his wife which you wrote and you still think we're dumb for wanting it to be the same girl? uff....it's like they are taking revenge on the fans rather than channel or whoever else is responsible for this sinking ship, it's our fault we didnt bring in the TRPs, What a load of crap yaar, pardon the language

    5. Lol, so true ... a lookalike of his wife, same characteristics ... and WE are the dumb ones for wanting her to be the same person?!

    6. Kiran: That is how it looks like. You guys didn't bring us Trps, so we are not giving you what you want. The ultimate revenge.

  2. Thanks for the update Dia. Mercifully, I missed the drinking scene that you have described above. Don't think I could handle it - that and the hypocritical NRI is a good desi girl, regardless of the desi guys' moral behaviour ....@!#

Anyway, most heartwarming part of RR (post PARUD) has to be this - the adoption scene - well written and well enacted - kudos to the CVs and actors for handling such a delicate matter with so much finesse!!!! The only strand from RR1.0 that is seeing a dignified closure in RR2.0. Thankfully the 2 DDs (Uncle and Father) had enough faith in Samrat to encourage him to open his own business - its success finally gave him the courage to take a long overdue step - if for no-one else, then at least to safeguard the budding happiness for his baby girl (refer to precap scene). Can't stop gushing over this...........sniff, sniff.............

As for Major Saab/Bodyguard? Never mind.

    1. Aki, there is no Major Saab any more ... he died along with Paro. This is the love story of a lonely widower finding love again ... otherwise it becomes the story of a man with an eight year itch ... every eight years he changes his women.

Am glad they closed the adoption story with a happy ending ... at least one story gets a happy ending. Okay, Sumer gets one too ... he is also happily married to Shatabdi.

Paro had her happy ending ... and died ... seeing the khichdi they have made of Rudra, I think it's good she died before the CVs could butcher her any further. So Rudra is left to fall in love with a woman who looks like his first wife ... and that is called 'moving on'. Of the two of them, I feel the most sorry for Myrah ... she is second best and she will live with that all her life. Unless of course Rudra forgets about Paro, now that he has Myrah ... which, judging by the speed he fell for her, and his description of 'Myrah' which sounded exactly like Paro ... is also very likely.

Chalo, sit back, relax ... watch the show for Sanaya ... and wait for her next show.

    2. "otherwise it becomes the story of a man with an eight year itch ... every eight years he changes his women." ROTFL - well put DIa! Rudra Pratap Ranawat definitely did that!

      RR2.0 inadvertently became a comedy of errors........ :D :D :D

I agree with you about the ending - RR1.0 officially ended at Paro's funeral pyre; and I will leave it at that..........

    3. Rofl Dia. Whatever happened to Major Saab. Good that paro died early. She wouldn't have wanted this to happen to her. I guess RPR died the day Paro died.

  4. Loved the adoption scene and specially Rudra speaking to his Bhabhisa to convince n promising to support her.... He really needed to do that.Mythali has done so much for him and it was his turn to repay her....am glad that loop was closed. As for the rest......still not getting Myrah Rudra...actually prefer Rohit n Myrah....the SBS segment of a drunk Rudra trying to dance n kiss Myrah...cringe... And he was telling KCM that he won't tolerate badtameezi!

  5. I suppose if one is drunk...anything goes!! Was he seeing Paro or Myra when he was high and dancing?

Dia you are simply the best...the 8 yr itch was hilarious!!
