Wednesday 17th September
I did say that Rohit is not as dumb as he appears. So he pursues his question to Rudra ... whom do you love?
Myrah is uncomfortable ... why? She can figure out that Rudra has started to change his mind ... she can sense his feelings ... but it's too late. She just said yes to Rohit finally. Besides, even if Rudra has forgotten, she remembers his impassioned declarations of undying love for Paro ...
And I completely agree with Myrah, that would be the sensible course of action. Especially knowing that she has Paro's face.
But drunk Rudra isn't ready to let go so easily. Drunk Rudra 1.0 forced Paro around a wedding fire with eight hate vows ... drunk Rudra 2.0 wants music. And plays a song they heard together after her kidnapping, the first time Rudra thought about being in her fiance's place.
Kuch na Kaho.
Rohit decides he will dance with Myrah ... she says no. Rudra makes some weird remark, and Myrah realises he is getting unpleasant ... better to give in. So she dances with Rohit ... while Rudra stares with glazed eyes at them.
Character destruction of Rudra ... complete. Dead, buried and sealed. This Rudra looked like a drunken lout ogling a woman ... nothing noble or loving in his looks.
And when Rohit gets a call and goes off, Rudra wants the dance.
And he answers Myrah's question from that car ride ... what if he had been in her fiance's place? How he wishes he was.
Myrah can't take it ... she tries to leave ... he pulls her back. And starts answering the remaining questions ... why did he drink? Because he can't stand it when Rohit gets close to her, touches her ...
Did he forget that Rohit is Myrah's fiance?
Have to say, the scene between the two was intense ... forget Myrud, Sanaya and Ashish are brilliant actors, and that one scene, despite my distaste for the drunken Rudra, was intense and gut-wrenching ... Rudra's confession ... and Myrah's desperate attempts to silence him, yet unable to tear herself away from him ... her desperate pleas ... Rudra, stop it ...
Second question ... what hurt is he hiding? The hurt that he left it too late, why didn't he tell her when she said she loved him, why did he hide his feelings ...
Third question ... whom does he love?
She doesn't want to hear it ... she knows now, but she can't listen to this ... Rudra, stop, please stop ... even as she says the words, her hands still cling to him, head bowed against his ...
He loves her. Myrah.
And she allows it to soak in for a brief moment ... before pushing him away violently ... that's enough, Rudra.
She pushes past Rohit as he returns, and leaves without another word.
And Rudra promptly passes out.
Leaving Rohit wondering what is happening.
Actually, he's not as dumb as he looks. He does have a clue.
So being a fairly decent sort of guy, he confronts Myrah ... he did ask Rudra if he was eyeing his fiance, Rudra denied it ... so he goes to check with Myrah.
Myrah in her room, has fbs of Rudra's drunken confession ... and she cries ... too little, too late ...
Again Sanaya's tears just draw you in ... one can't help but feel bad for Myrah's heartbreak and her dilemma ... despite the fact that I totally disliked Rudra's drunken dance and confession ...
Rohit wants answers ... she prevaricates ... but he's not having it ... something is there between you both, what is it?
And he asks directly ... do you still want to marry me? Because there is something between you and him, the way Rudra is so possessive, so overly concerned ... but I want to hear it from you.
This was the time Myrah should have come clean ... moreover, shown Rohit the picture of Paro hanging right behind them ... and explained the genesis of the problem.
Myrah obviously doesn't have any faith in Rudra's drunken confession at all ... no knowing whether it was to Paro or to Myrah ... and this scenario will come up again and again between her and Rudra. Better to nip this hopeless situation in the bud.
So she's sure of one thing ... she and Rohit will get married.
Rohit takes her word for it.
Paro smiles benignly in the background ... as though to say, no chance.
Glad they focussed on Paro's picture ... I thought they had forgotten her completely.
Morning ... Rudra awakens with a hangover ... Myrah is ready with tough love and an antacid.
Rudra tries to apologise ... Myrah's not in the mood to be forgiving.
Apologise for what? For saying you love me? Unspoken, when you were drunk, obviously you don't mean it. Or you meant it for Paro.
No, he won't apologise for that. He's not sorry for that.
Then say it again ... with a challenge in her voice. He won't ... he can never say the words.
But he does ... I love you, Myrah ... you make me happy. When you smile, it feels like life is smiling again.
Ay lo ... Paro and everlasting love and 'main tu hamesha' till my last breath, all that just went down the tubes.
Myrah listens in shock, and seems to feel the same ... this is the main who swore undying love to his dead wife ... and now he's swearing undying love to her?
So she tells him, it's too late ...
Rudra making up for lost time, or trying to ... just say yes, and I'll sort everything out ... you know you love me ...
She doesn't ...
She does ... and she won't be able to live with this lie in her life, she knows it. He'll fix everything ... she just has to say yes.
She almost does ... but then ...
No.
She can't break her word to Rohit ... promise to marry him and then let him down. Let down love, friendship, relationships ... everything
And what about Paro ... I'm not Paro, and I will never be.
Thank god at least Myrah remembered Paro!
Rudra says no, he knows she's not Paro, she's Myrah ... and he loves Myrah.
It almost sounded as though he left unsaid ... 'and not Paro.' :(
Myrah wavers ... then wiser sense prevails ... and she says a final 'No ' ... and leaves.
San looked gorgeous in the orange top ... and SanIsh were again brilliant ... despite my not even rooting for the Myrah Rudra story!!!
Maithili is watching all this ... she is omniscient!
Maithili tries to talk to Myrah ... or rather, persuade her to say yes to Rudra ... Myrah is firm. She can't let Rohit down, he's her best friend. Rudra can live with Paro and her memories.
Hum bhi toh kab se yehi keh rahe hain! We are saying this only ... since like, forever!!!
Maithili thinks otherwise ... this was pre-ordained, this was kismat ... your coming here. Dump Rohit, marry Rudra.
Arey baba, Paro coming there was kismat ... not Myrah. Maithili is confused.
And Maithili is sure, Rudra loves Myrah without the shadow of Paro between them ...
Myrah remembers Rudra's confession ... the sober one ... Maithili might be right on that.
Rudra and kids playing Snakes and Ladders ... kids ask Myrah to join them ... Rohit enters ... makes a loaded remark about how Rudra threw the dice, and he won.
And makes the grand announcement that he's spoken to their parents ... and he and Myrah are getting married the next day ...
I have a feeling he is calling Myrah's bluff.
Precap ... Myrah saves Rudra from a falling light ... and lets the cat out of the bag ... so will she refuse Roht, or will he call it off?

ReplyDeleteDidn't watch today's episode yet. Didn't watch yesterday's episode also. :) :)
Madhu... you are definitely going to sound like a broken record. No... like a banshee. :( :( Nevertheless, I am going to continue.
I am sure the episode would have been ok because of the collective efforts of the cast. But.... Ok... just two more days to go. Uske baad sab theek ho jayega.
Poor Ashish.. What could have been his career best role has been reduced to a joke. First he was made the father of a seven year old kid. I mean, I don't think many actors or actresses would want to play an older version of their character. That too with a kid. As if this is not enough, he has been made to fall for Myrah. Of course, with the permission of his dead wife.
I feel bad for Rohit. He has tried his best to be honest and open with Myrah. She loves Rudra and it is not working out. So, why does she have to marry Rohit? Woman... please think through and then decide. Do you really have to make Rohit's life miserable? Of course, the CVs will spare Rohit and unite Myrah and Rudra. And kill the audience.
The precap is a repeat of IPKKND. Dammit, agar tujhe kuch ho jata tho...? It is merely role reversal in RR. Someone please tell me that I am sleeping and this is a bad dream which would wipe out once I wake up.

Madhu, all I can say is that last night's episode was a case of the actors rising above the script to give a superlative performance. I'm not rooting for Myrah-Rudra ... and we know that even the actors are not happy with the ending ... Sanaya came straight out and said it in one SBS, and I remember Ashish's SBS after shooting for this scene ... that was the last Sanish SBS, and he was very clearly unhappy ... resigned, more like it. Yet their performance was so good, that I wished for the first time, that they were in another show together, a show more worthy of their talent, and a story where a scene like this would have been a highlight of their love story. I don't believe in this love story, I don't want this ending ... yet I was moved by the scene ... both were fabulous.
DeleteAshish seems to have taken the feedback on his drunk scenes and his crying ... both are far more toned down now ... and much more effective. And Sanaya has always been superlative in emotional scenes.
The rest ... I soooooo agree with you!!! Rudra was definitely the best role of Ashish's career, and what a sorry end it has come to ... he's reduced to a joke. He was supposed to be a strong, brave soldier ... and he's reduced to a weak guy who can't do without a woman in his life. Rudra could have and should have lived with the memories of Paro all his life ... I even remember ages back, there was a One Shot on the forum with a sad ending ...Rudra killing Paro by mistake, and dying along with her, because he couldn't bear to live without her. That time there was no inkling of Paro dying ... this was just a few months into the show. And I remember at that time writing that this is the right ending for PaRud ... theirs is a tragic love story, a happily ever after ending is just too tame for this couple.
Rohit has actually emerged as the best of the three ... decent, straight forward ... he tried to clear his suspicions both with Rudra and with Myrah ... Myrah is deceiving him. Agree with you, if she loves Rudra and it's not workable, then why does she have to marry Rohit? She's not a weak abla naari, she's an independent, educated, modern girl, why should she marry him just because he's available? I had the same problem with Kajol's character in KKHH too ... she discovered she still loved Rahul, so why agree to marry Aman? that too, overnight?
Here of course, Rohit is doing the overnight rush ... ok, that is still understandable, because he loves Myrah and he's afraid she will change her mind at the last minute ... quite justifiably too! I think he's calling her bluff.
The better ending would have been for Myrah to tell Rohit ... I can't love you, so I'm freeing you ... and let Rohit then tell her he would wait for her to change her mind, because he has faith in his love and their friendship. And if they had a better actor, the audience would be rooting for them ... with such a poor actor, I still prefer Myrah Rohit to Myrah Rudra! Myrah Rohit still make more sense to me than Myrah Rudra ... and Myrah alone makes the best sense of the lot.
Oh God! This is getting worse n worse.....not seen yet and don't want to...WU was unbearable....How can the CVs go this wrong? Are these the same people who wrote the initial 3-4 months episodes? Rudra, my all time fav character has been brutally mutilated, beyond recognition....from what I can make out, most fans not happy with Myrah Rudra....the writers got to soo wrong! And they both being very unfair to Rohit...he gave both of them enough chances to confess....this is not how good people behave....Sorry for ranting everyday...am so frustrated......
ReplyDeleteHi SingaporeFan, totally agree with you, its getting worse, its like after every episode now-a-days you think -'oh nothing else can get worse than this', and then comes along something even more moronic!!! Complete Cringefest!! :-/
DeleteAnd today's episode where in Rudra is supposedly drunk and his behavior towards Maya I found it very disturbing, firstly he has no right whatsoever, and it looks more and more like the tittle Dia had mentioned few posts before- seven/eight years itch!!
Poor Rohit, I am feeling bad for this guy!
Oh well thank god its ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The way the second version of RR is executed is very very perverted. The creators need not listen to the fans and oblige. They could atleast think about their reputation and their original creation and then take this story forward. The fans don't lose anything at all. We might crib and cry till we get to watch another interesting show. But these people are in the business and anything to do with this show would directly affect the CVs and the PH. I wonder what the CVs were thinking when they wrote the script for RR2.0. I took Dia's advice and watched just Ashish and Sanaya in the drunken dance scene. I liked it. Honestly. It was intense. Such an amazing chemistry has been mercilessly wasted. Getting the chemistry right is the most difficult part. And these two can emote so well. That is a huge plus. God knows if we will get to see this pair again on screen. And I cannot digest what they have done to Rudra. His 8 saal har raat affair with Laila was not justified or explained well. Don't know what the original script had. His 'You me always, I will not let you die Paro, you are my only family' and every single nonsense thrown at us has been conveniently forgotten. I can't help but wonder if this kind of handling the script is deliberate. Fine. Now Will Rudra confess to Myrah about Laila? About his runaway mom? Has everything been swept under the carpet? Are you listening CVs?
Delete- Madhumitha
SingaporeFan, rant away, we're all in the same boat! I hated drunk Rudra yesterday, he looked like the worst kind of pervert, eyeing Myrah while she was dancing with her fiance, and then pulling her to dance the moment he got the chance ... this was not love to me at all! Don't know what they have done to the characters ... how could they go so horribly wrong!
DeleteAnd right now Rohit is the one most wronged ... he gave them both enough chances to confess ... they are both deceiving him ... why?! It says something when the kabab mein haddi in the story is the one you sympathise with ... and of course, if in a love story, the viewers are not even rooting for the 'happy ending' at all, that says it all.
What a disaster this show has become. I have never been so glad to see one of Sanaya's shows end ... not even Chhanchhan.
I really wonder if this is the CVs revenge ... against the channel or against the fans, don't know.
Dia,
DeleteI have been wondering if this pathetic handling of the script is deliberate. It looks exactly like a spoof of the previous version. I liked the rudra killing paro by mistake story. Atleast we could have related it to othello. Though in othello, it was cold blood murder. It is such a pity to waste this kind of talent. I wonder if the actors don't have any say in this. The heroes are sometimes involved in the script writing (in movies). I repeat this once more. Even ASR was not butchered. I mean his character was intact till the end. Only KKG was a little messy towards the end. But why do this to the male lead character especially when he is the only reminder of Paro's existence. Well i don't consider Dhruv here, because he has barely seen his mom. Rudra does look like a guy with the so-called itch. I may be reading between the lines, but RR2.0 looks like 'in your faces guys' kind of reaction from the CVs. Does GH write better only for the actors he is fond of? Like sanaya and barun. None of my business, I guess. Oh please ignore me. I am extremely angered at what they have done to Rudra. That's why this rant. Even more angered because of this mess created by them. What could have been an epic love story has been reduced to meaningless shit.

One more rant ... this time Rohit ... and his remark to Myrah ... 'oh, babe, I spoke to our respective parents, and they said we should get married here with some reeti rivaz and then come back home. So we're getting married tomorrow.'
ReplyDeleteOk, this is a major rant against the CVs ... I guess they thought people are getting too sympathetic towards Rohit so let's butcher him too ...
HONESTLY ... WHICH parents in the world would tell their kids this??? Parents all over the world look forward to their kids' weddings ... even more than the kids themselves, at times ... they plan, and discuss and organise all sorts of events ... the richer the parents, the more the functions and events and elaborate planning ... and the CVs expect us to accept that Rohit's and Myrah's parents are happy for their kids to get married in a different country, without either set of parents being around, in a rush, with no family or friends, among a bunch of strangers ... WHAT ARE THE CVS SMOKING????!!!! Agreed the show is ending ... have they abandoned ALL logic or sense in their story telling?
They could have made the story that Rohit tells Myrah the parents want us back ... Myrah could have said she's decided against getting married in India after all ... Maithili could have insisted they do one ceremony for her, out of love because she has become dear to them ... if they needed to put in that haldi ceremony, that is ... something at least SLIGHTLY believable ... this was completely ridiculous! In two days, a haldi and an aborted wedding ... what a bloody stupid ending!
And then the cvs talk about logic and educated viewers!!!
Finally saw the episode.... sorry but am not even able to appreciate the superb acting by the leads.... And did not really feel anything at Rudra's confession.....and passing out drunk, thought he was a responsible and loving Dad! And Rohit saying that their parents asked them to get married and come back!!! Sooo ridiculous ....and I still don't know if Rohit has seen Paro's picture? Talk about logic....
ReplyDeleteSingapore fan,
DeleteI guess logic flew out of the window when they showed the laddoo track. I started watching this show with less expectations. Eventually my expectations went up. Now I am like the show could have ended much earlier. Everyone has given up, since there are just two more episodes. I am trying to watch the show with that detachment. I like the actors and they are the reason I am still watching the show. In this country, even rajnikanth is criticized by the media and public. And the CVs are not even able to face criticism. Instead they are focused on doing more damage to their relationship with the fandom. GH / JV should come out of Ipkknd mode and focus on what they got in their hands right now. Seriously, when I think of the potential this show had and the current situation, my anger towards the creatives and the production house renews automatically. Morons!
