13/5 - Epi 97 ... Blinded by Love, Blinded by Hate

Tuesday 13th May

Updating in a while ... enjoyed the episode today!

Quick update .... nice episode, well balanced ... if Ashish being off for JDJ means we get more of Paro's side of the story, then long may he dance! And we actually got a decent doctor scene ... although how he discovered mirchi powder when it would have dissolved, I don't understand ... but that's a small issue!

I got all excited seeing Aman and Rudra in interrogation mode in the BSD office ... but I think it was to make Rudra believe Laila enough to allow her to stay on for longer in the haveli. But I hope Tejawat is back in action ... while the PH gets the hunt for a new Tejawat underway.

Mohini has more brains than Laila ... proved. She gives Laila a talking to for losing her brains and hurting Paro ... that is not going to accomplish anything other than to make Rudra stick even more firmly to Paro's side. Laila is losing her temper seeing Paro close to Rudra ... and when temper is lost, brains are lost ... that's a proven thing.

Laila also discovered that Mohini has a weak spot ... Sumer. Now that is a dangerous discovery.

Now the good - loved the Maithili - Paro scenes ... Maithili's antennae are up regarding Laila, and she tries to warn Paro ... but Paro has complete faith in her husband. And she's too excited about the first signs of Rudra softening towards her, maybe his hatred is lessening (if only she knew hate is nowhere near the emotion he feels for her) and he's beginning to accept the marriage.
As for Paro ... marriage is marriage ... hers might not have happened the way she would have liked ... but once done, it's up to her to keep it going.
And with a wisdom beyond her years, she doesn't bother too much about Laila, she's more bothered about the relationship between her and Rudra ... if that is strong, no one can come between them. Which is actually true for most marriages ... the break happens when there is already some strain between husband and wife ... the other woman is usually only the catalyst, not the cause.

Which is why the revelation of Rudra's past relationship with Laila is going to cause a major upheaval for Paro ... from the question of Laila coming between them, the question will shift to, did she come between Laila and Rudra? Was Laila the reason he keeps saying he was forced to marry Paro to save his job?

And loved the protective roaring Rudra, shouting at everyone in sight for not taking care of his precious wife, and allowing her to be hurt. And shouting at her too, for being careless ... and then getting upset when she cried ... Rudra can't stand two things ... Paro's pain and Paro's tears ... today he saw both.
Paro was upset because of Maithili's tears ... or because he said again that his main concern was not her, but his job. He just broke her heart a little, after it had started singing.
She did remember that she has to leave him at some point ... but Paro being Paro, she's not going to think about it till it happens.

And precap - seems like Laila continues to act as stupid Cupid ... now Rudra wants to eat in his room with Paro.

  1. Good episode today.

Daanveer is still not ready to forgive Sumer.
Laila found out about Mohini's weakness - Sumer.

I hope they writers don't even think about the possibility of linking up Sumer-Laila.............That would be YUCK!!!!

For the first time I felt Paro & Laila are evenly matched -
When it comes from suffering from ***Tube light-osis***

Laila obviously did not think her plan through as smartly pointed out by Mohini.
Paro does not give much thought about what Maitli has to say about Laila.

    *head desk*

Having said that, If I am guessing right, the writers are deliberately showing Paro not too bothered about Laila.

So far as Paro is concerned, it was Ek Tarfa Pyaar from Laila's side.
The whole KWB angle has not occurred to her even.

So when Rudra finally tells her the truth - Paro's reaction will be something to interesting to look forward to.

Assuming the writers don't brush it off too easily.

Any woman in Paro's situation has to wonder and MOST IMPORTANTLY
it has to be shown (just like we had some nice Paro's pov scenes) the following points:

Does Rudra still have feelings for Laila?
Is that why he is not too happy with Laila's presence?

Did she come between Laila and Rudra?

If Paro had not literally forced the whole marriage issue with the public proposal and all, could it have happened that Rudra would have left Paro after taking care of her security but would have continued his relationship with Laila?

In her love for him, has she been blind to not see, ignore what Rudra had been trying to tell her, he never wanted to marry her, he can never love her?

It looked like there is a conscious attempt to steer the story back to its course.

Constant reference to Tejavat and all.

The sudden appearance of a guy who was being harassed by Tejavat's men - Coincidence or not needs to be explored.

Rudra atleast for now is convinced that Laila is telling the truth. A stroke of luck for Laila perhaps?

The question is assuming they are auditioning for a new Teajavat, till they find the person, how long they can drag this out?

The mandatory Paro-Rudra scene was sweet and cute.

Paro is upset that the only reason he was angry was cos of the possibility of visit from social workers. Don't blame her, she only heard him, didn't see him desperately trying to negate his almost acknowledgement and acceptance that he cares too much for her.

Rudra on his part has not figured out the real reason why she was crying.

Paro told him the story about him scolding her Jeeja and he took it at face value.

Banna has a long way to go in terms of reading Biwi correctly.

I hope in the joyous occasion of his wardrobe getting expanded with the inclusion of a new Kurta, he goes and in his own way apologizes to Maitli.

So few more Parud scenes tomorrow, awwwwwwwwwww...

We had some really nice dialogues today, didn't we?

A great episode- We had Aman too, today.

    1. Shwethu,

I am getting scared of a SuLa marriage ... NAHIIIIIIIINNNNN!!!! Can't stand Ankita ... if she enters as Sumer's wife, and becomes permanent resident of the Ranawat haveli, I won't be able to take it. it will become like Madhubala, with Deepali married to RK's brother, yet lusting after RK ... which is one reason I'm hopeful they will not take this the same way!

The BSD scene was to set up a longer stay for Laila ... koi mujhe bataaye, is the Ranawat haveli the designated safe house for all BSD witnesses? Especially the female ones? And was the scene only for that, or are they really planning to bring Tejawat back again soon? Maybe they were waiting for Tarun to make up his mind whether he's coming back or not ...there have been more mentions of his name since Laila came back, how long can they continue the mirchi fights?

Give Aman a bigger role please ... now that Ashish is busy with JDJ, we will probably only get a few PaRud scenes with him, the rest will be all kitchen politics. If it includes Maithili-Paro, I'm okay ... let Paro visit the BSD office, even if Rudra is out on a mission ... let her heart to heart chats with Aman, let her offer to supply food for Rudra's juniors to keep herself busy while Rudra is away ... just keep the Laila scenes to the bare minimum. Let Paro talk to Maithili about Nandu, and how Maithili has taken over Nandu jija's role in her life. Heck, we can even have maamisa visit Paro ... after all, Paro got married, she can't go home, but mamisa can surely visit her, can't she?

Anyway, looking forward to the Rudra feeding Paro scene, and hopefully manaoing Paro out of her sulks tonight :)))

    2. No SuLa marriage, please. As much as it would be poetic justice, and the fact that we would love to see Mohini squirm... really hope the writers do not go that path.

Had my interest piqued at the mention of Tejawat, only to have it dashed. Maybe it is another way for the writers to remind us that the haven't forgotten about the Thakur. BTW, did any other source confirm Tarun's exit. Haven't come across any.

Checked out Getanjali Mishra (Maithili) interview at IF. Apparently, she would fight back, or so the actor thinks. Would love to see her give it back to Mohini and specifically Samrat. The man is one spineless creature.

    3. ranawat haweli is the dharamshala : did you not hear mohini say that today? i have to say, i like dialogue writers when they read IF :P

    4. There was also a slight reference by Laila to Maithili's past ... she said something like, I know about you as well ... and Maithili's face changed. So that's another track the cvs could put in ... Maithili has seen good character development and has gotten a good response, so it could be an interesting track. Unless all Laila meant was that Samrat is infertile and not Maithili.

  2. helloo ladies.. real life was hectic, did not catch last week.. today was sooow cuuute.

in one scene, KcM called her son shrawan kumar.
another, laila is faced with the fact that she is cupid.
in yet another, bitwa (sorry, today he was a total bitwa) realizes that he would be upset if his beautiful beewi got hurt.

all in all, cho verry chweet.
and i got a glimpse of ashish's jdj promo in the middle, and i have to say, all through the jdj, i hope they keep him sweet and chocolatey so that when dance fangirls tune in to catch his serial, they get an eyeful of chocolate hero banna and cutesa beendhni. i love the character of paro slowly changing to fit sanaya.. the quiet heartbroken girl who lost her husband is slowly growing playful in the warmth of a loving family and a caring husband, and honestly, that is what the serial needs right now.

    1. Hi Jaya!!! Nice to read your post after a long time.As you said Paro's playfulness and smiles are a treat to watch. Sanaya brightens the screen in such scenes. She is will make us feel the pain of Paro once Laila's truth comes out.

    2. Hi Jaya,

      Shravan kumar ROFL ...
I laughed when Mohini looked up at Bholenath ... why me, why do you bless me only with all these namoonas. Sounded like what Shwethu has been saying on R&R for ages ... Mohini's HR department sucks!!! First Devyani, then Sumer ... and now Laila!!!

Rudra banna is becoming sweet ... enjoyed his blustering and roaring at everyone for not taking care of his precious Paro ... watching him feed her and coax her out her sulks and tears tonight should be fun.

      Good to see you back!

  3. Shwetha nice take. You have covered entire episode. They won't open Thakur track soon, this is to make Laila stay in haveli and also to remind us the real villan.

A big no to Sumer- Laila.Hope CV's don't go that way.

Maithili's brain has kick started regarding Laila. I expected at least Suneri will mention that the colored water was passed on to her by Laila. It would have made Rudra to keep his doubts regarding Laila intact.

As you said Paro was upset when Rudra took Thakur and SW as the reasons for his concern. But I think she cried because of that and also for Maithili. Rudra may not accept but he definitely knows what made her upset and leave suddenly. He has to go a long way to verbalize his love. Between Parud scenes were good .

I'm now eagerly looking forward to Paro's reaction after the promo plays out. It will be definitely interesting. Maithili and Paro scene was good. They have to do it often to make viewers know Paro's POV. She really trusts her Husband a lot. Rudra's confession will be a thunder bolt. Hope CV's take their sweet time for that track instead of winding in one week. Overall a good episode.

    1. i would dare say there is no love from rudra's side.. not yet.

he is protective, he thinks she is pretty, he does think she is sugar and spice and all things nice, attraction is there, but love is not there. she has slowly become one of his family, just like his feelings towards his father: she is family, because she wants him there and because he wed her. but i can underline the fact that he does not LOVE love her. if rudy boy ever thought about having his heart, he would give it to her on a platter: but he is completely unaware. they are just playing this gudda guddi ka khel, and he is okay with her doing all that.. because he is slowly starting to like her presence in his life.

yes, he thinks of her as his.. "my toy. no share!" and he has the emotional growth of a ten year old, so i say give him time.

dont expect rudra to be mad and besotted even if he acts like it for TRP benefit.. because there will come a time, when banna will fall head over heels.. and that will be a treat worth watching.

    2. I agree with pretty much everything you say ... except that I think Rudra does feel more for Paro at a subconscious level. He doesn't consciously love her ... if she left and went away, he would rant and rave about beautiful women, if she told him why she was leaving, he would call her bawakoof ladki for believing in such blind traditions ... but he hasn't reached the stage of being madly, hopelessly in love with her, to the point of wanting to destroy the world if she goes missing.

And agree ... when he does fall in love, that will be worth watching.

    3. I agree with both, Jaya and Dia.

Rudra is in a happy, comfortable place right now. But anything can tip him to the other side. The feelings or love has not been well developed to make him go into a rage when she leaves him.

Post the Laila/past revelation, I do feel he would fall in love with Paro. And for that matter, Paro as well. Right now she is in a reverence mode.... she needs to love him since it was ordained by God. I have my doubts that she too is in love with him in earnest.

  4. Everybody who has commented pretty much covered everything from the episode. The only addition I would like to make is about the expression of Kakisa when Rudra stammered for the first time. Probably, she is the only villain, I enjoy watching on screen.

  5. I have been wondering if the idea to play out the promo scene on Friday was indeed a good idea by the creatives. All good with the cliff-hanger and all. But the poll results come out on Friday. Would people tune in to a soap, or the news channels. I personally would pick the latter.

    1. I think the friday episode will end with that cliffie :D

    2. Yes, but Ritika has a very good point. Friday is election result day, most people will be glued to the news channels. I know even I will be, although it will switch to RR at 9.30, but only because I have a second TV where my hubby will continue to watch the news. Already Arnab Goswami is a fixture in our house most nights ... Can't stand the man and his yelling!
