30/4 - Epi 88 ... Waking Up

Wednesday 30th April

Waking up to the possibility ... the very real possibility ... that there is a potential murderer in the family.

Waking up Rudra ... by reminding him of so many things he loses his temper with, gets angry with ...
Found it rather interesting that Paro could only think of things which annoy Rudra, but none that make him happy ... what a grumpy fellow he is!

So she does know she lost an earring ... she does think that his calm when he saw her outside the room was uncharacteristic ... but then, he was playing loving husband to save his job, he couldn't yell at her in public ... discount that one. And she wants to know why they woke up cuddled so close together ... Paro's thoughts are rather interesting!

Before that ... Paro saves Rudra yet again, before Mohini can do whatever it is she was going to do with the needle ... and retains her watchfulness for as long as Mohini is around ... making sure she stymies Mohini's attemps to complete her job. Maithili's report has already given her a clue that Mohini is not to be trusted. Mohini has to leave ... Paro promptly gets back to Maithili to find out progress in the investigation ... Mohini's midnight visit raising her suspicions again even more.

Paro should be in the BSD ... she really should! She is far smarter, and keeps a far cooler head in crisis times than Rudra banna does!

Maithili finds the iron filings, the laddoo ... but before she can do anything more, Mohini and Sumer return ... that was a close shave.

Mohini is suspicious of Maithili ... and Maithili of Mohini. Both cautious, both watchful ... circling each other warily like a pair of dogs guarding a bone.

Morning dawns ... but Rudra continues to sleep.
I thought Sanaya was the one on  leave ... Ashish had himself a break as well!  He slept through two full episodes!!!
And Paro's calm finally breaks, as morning doesn't bring with it any signs of recovery ... and she tries to wake up Rudra ... by annoying him ... because that's what she does best.
Like I said, her thoughts were rather interesting!
And I felt rather sad for Rudra ... that there was nothing which she could think of that would make him happy ... he has shut happiness out of his life so completely.
She even sings the song he hates ... but he still doesn't wake up ... and that's when she gives way to despair and tears ... her faith in Bholenath being severely tested here.

I am scared for Maithili today ... and I was really glad to see her hand over the iron filings and laddoo safely to the doctor. So the proof is out of her hands and Mohini can't do much now. And according to Aman, the BSD is also on the job.
Danveer and Aman come in ... Aman says the BSD will investigate fully ... of course, Paro and Maithili are already on the job.
Paro in panic ... the sun is up ... yet Rudra has not recovered ... now that Danveer and Aman are with Rudra, she can leave him ... and go to the temple to pray to her Shivji for Rudra's life.

And there she goes ... running with bare feet, bleeding ... uncaring of the pain ... and begs her Bholenath for her Rudra's life. The panditji tells her that God has a barter system ... she has to give up something that means a lot to her, if she wants Him to grant her wish.
I guess the panditji was talking about a feast for 50 pandits or a donation of gold or some such thing ... but for Paro, there is something infinitely more precious.

Her marriage. And Rudra.
So she promises she will leave it, and him ... the day he recovers. After all, that's what he wanted.

  1. Dia agree with you I liked her thoughts when she kept speaking to him.Btw Sanaya did well in those scenes. She would have done as solo...She's really a dedicated actor. ...Though I know BD was used, I didn't find any difference. CVs did a better job this time. I liked today's episode.

When I read the title, waking up... thought It would be apt for CVs too...

Regarding Mohini from previous post, I don't want her to exit the show. She's really good in whatever she's doing. Just they have to mellow down her devious plans. Also no IPK way CVs. Here side characters are decent in acting, be it Maithali, Kaku, Aman, Samrat, Suneri...It's high time they start some parallel story. I don't want leads to over work and get exhausted.

CVs will start side stories, they have to accommodate Ashish's time if he's participating in JDJ.By the way is it confirmed??? TBH don't want him to do now. It will tiring . Also I was glad Sanay did take up JDJ this time.

    1. Lakshmi ditto on parallel story, they have an excellent support cast each has an interesting story that needs to be told. Hope they start working on that.

    2. adding to your comment Shwetha: I hope the janta does not throw brickbats at the CVs for parallel stories using the support cast a la the show that shall not be named which was driven to extinction.

    3. I should have actually titled this post "Women of Substance" ... seeing that both Paro and Maithili were the true heroines. Paro, of course ... Sanaya excelled in the emotional scenes, when she was trying to wake up Rudra and getting increasingly panicky as he refused to respond to anything ... and also for keeping her head about KcM all through ... never forgetting to continue the investigation through Maithili, ask all the right questions, think of the laddoo and push Maithili till she managed to find it ...

And also I loved that she waited till there was someone trustworthy with Rudra, namely Danveer and Aman ... before leaving him alone to go to the temple. That's what I mean by a sensible heroine ... if she had given way to floods of tears and emotions, and sitting in front of Shivji all night, she would be a widow by now.

And of course, Maithili was the other one ... despite her fear of Mohin, she followed Paro's instructions, found the laddoo, and used her own head, brought it to hospital, managing to hide it from Mohini ... boy, I was so nervous for her at that point ... Mohini seems to have no compunction in killing off people ... I heaved a sigh of relief when she handed it over safely to the doctor. Only problem is, she still hasn't told Paro about this ... hopefully, as soon as Paro returns from the temple, Maithili will give her the update :)

    4. Also, Lakshmi, I agree with you about the BD's and the editing .. the BD was still there today, so sme of the scenes shown had been shot earlier ... the running was obviously shot after Sanaya came back. But the editing was better ... the scenes flowed well, and Sanaya's BD is good, one really can't make out the difference. The only way I made out it was a BD was because they used long shots, and avoided showing her face, and there were still a lot of close ups of Sanaya's face.

Also totally agree about the parallel stories ... Sumer has to be redeemed somewhat so that they can have a parallel romance track for him ... and something for Aman, who is a good actor as well, as well as for Samrat-Maithili ... hopefully junta will accept parallel tracks here.

Remember how much we used to shout and scream for them in IPK times ... every week that was the first shiddat :)

    5. Fingers crossed that evidence does not get mislaid or forgotten the way they were in the previous show.

    1. Lakshmi, I've stopped posting there, it takes too much time to reply, and I prefer this place where I know everyone and can say what I want to, without having to sugarcoat things :) My takes here are the same as what I was posting there, there used to be some good discussions there, I do miss those, but just don't have the time to catch up. When I get back from holiday, I might re-start ... but with work getting more busy, I might not ... depends on how much time I have.

  3. Dia, beautiful take. This is what we wanted, Paro's inner thoughts.

A lot of fans in IF don't fully get it when it is mentioned that Sanz aka Paro is not given her due. The Paro we saw today should have been there yesterday itself....

The point is when you give Paro's side, lot of things start making sense.

Even a simple cliched dialogue like he is my suhaag, yada yada becomes poignant as it comes from her.

The point is you can make Rudra cry, behave ridiculously just so he gets the audience sympathy but maintain a balance where Paro gets to tell her side of the story too.

Now the audience is all too familiar with Rudra. Time to put the focus back on Paro.

    She is an orphan.
She has always wanted a family that was truly hers, not taking anything away from Mamisa who brought her up beautifully.
Rudra is that One person whom she loves and who truly belongs to her, cares for her despite what he says all the time.
    She is married to him.
She knows underneath the tough exterior, khoobsoorat aurat, mommy issues, is a good guy who has always protected her.
It is a no-brainer she will go all out for him.

The above is the point, I feel that needs to be reiterated often especially to people who do not get Paro. I would rather see that again and again than Rudra's issues*Yawn*

Paro is someone who has always been a pretty secure person as she has been nurtured that way. Now as days progress, she is slowly cementing her position in Rudra's life and is becoming aware of it too.

Marriage is something sacred to her. In Rudra & his family, she has truly found the family she always wanted. Which is why she takes Mohini in her stride as she is mature enough to know, you don't get a perfect family. PLUS Mohini is wary of Rudra the recent inexplicable murder attempts not withstanding.

At the very least, Rudra cannot leave her as the SWs will be keeping a watch on the situation.

In your life when you are that secure about who you are, your standing in your family, you start acting, thinking rationally. You don't overreact, go hyper and all that.

This is my take on Paro.

Credit to writers here, they have ensured the women in this show are strong. Even a Maitlil for whom Darti hai par Karti hai fits perfectly.

It is the men, (EXCEPT ofcourse AMAN & VKSingh) especially the Ranavat Men who come out looking as complete IDIOTS.

The show seems back on track...well almost.

So looking forward to the coming episodes...

I hope she leaves him...to meet Mamisa.

It is ridiculous that Mamisa has been kept out of the loop. Paro can tell him she is leaving him forever.

He pretends to be happy, ofcourse, Banna can barely manage without her for few hours, goes back to bring her back.

She bluntly refuses. That was the deal I made with Shivji, You get your life back, I will walk out of your life.

Rudra in desperation brings back the SW to please drill some sense to her, even if you have to threaten her that I will lose my job, but please get her to come back.

I just hope, this time banna actually finds time to get her a real mangalsutra...Not interested in another shaadi for them*yawn*

    1. Shweta ... EXACTLY!!! They have to show Paro's POV more clearly, that's the only way the audience will connect. Bahut ho gaya Rudra ka rona dhona ... we know he's a bipolar guy with mommy issues, with a lot of rage bottle up in him, because he feels cheated and betrayed by the one woman he loved most - his mom ... yada yada ... been there, done that in more shows than one.

Paro is the more unique character here ... a really simple girl with old fashioned values, which are so simple that it's difficult to relate to them in today's world. She is actually any man's dream ... beautiful girl, non-demanding, cooks well, and completely devoted to her husband and committed to her marriage, without asking for too much in return ... not even for his love. She knows his first love is his uniform and his job, and she accepts that ... its his identity, she knows the importance it holds for him. He puts it first, second, third, ... hundredth ... she's ok with that too. Which man would not love a wife like that?

      Like you said ...

Especially the part - she knows he is a good guy, he will protect her, look after her, he always has and always will. She gets along with his family ... most of it. MIL issues are universal, and she can manage KcM. Besides Rudra is always on her side for that one ... no dutiful son torn between wife and mother here ... he's even more anti-Mohini than she is ...

And she has finally found a place she can BELONG .. for an orphan girl, that is a huge thing. Her words to Shivji when her first marriage was fixed, were all about that ... a home, a place of her own, where she has the right to decide the smallest things ... there was no mention of love and handsome prince on a white horse ... it was all about BELONGING.

They need to emphasize that more, rather than the mythological parallels which frankly, they draw too far.

    2. Dia I understand your time constraints to post in IF and also janta there. Though you post the same , I love to read it here. May be I'm used to this setting.

You have explained Paro very well. Bas now CVs have to balance Parud's character growth in the story. In IPK Khushi used to talk to her DM, it helped a lot to understand her antics. The one solo scene of Paro in the hospital changed the entire tempo yesterday.

Agree, This PH needs to learn about subtle ways to convey their POV...Mythology part has been told more than it required.

  4. Shwetha you are too good in developing plots. Paro should leave Rudra telling him the reason and he must bring her back accepting her as his wife... No more mood swings. Love part can happen slowly.

I agree whenever they give importance to Paro's inner thoughts the story seems to make sense. Even the marriage made sense when Paro spoke about it. They just need to maintain the balance between Parud. I too hope they are on track. I love Paro. Sanaya is doing a fabulous job as Paro.

  5. By the way, I loved the snide remark Paro shot at Mohini about being two-faced ... you have a double relationship, I have only one, and it's deep and true. :)))

And the way she kept a sharp eye on Mohini all through her night visit ... though was Mohini really going to be stupid enough to try something with Paro in the same room? She has really underestimated Paro ... or we have overestimated Mohini's intelligence!

So women with brains here ... Paro and Maithili. Cancel Mohini from the list. I would keep Mala on the list ... she gave up a crippled alcoholic bitter man, and got a handsome rich man who dotes on her. He's a killer and a smuggler, but so what?! :D

Men with brains ... Ranawat surname automatically disqualifies all men in this category :D All one dumber than the other ... Sumer and Rudra probably tie for bottom place :) They define the phrase - all brawn and no brain :)

Which leaves Aman and VK Singh. They are smart. Can we have a nice track for Aman please? With his Paro bhabhi playing Cupid, and his grouchy boss grumbling about there being no such thing as love yada yada ... which both Aman and Paro cheerfully ignore.
