Watching Qabool Hai while waiting for Rangrasiya ... and can I THANK GOD that SP withdrew IPK when it did?! Gul Khan seems to have perfected the art of ruining a show ...When she can produce something so beautiful as the first few months of IPK ... how she can write and produce such utter bilge is beyond me! Thank God I never watched this show!
Gustakh Dil ... so Nikhil and Laajo meet ... now how will this go? Hope they follow the book and keep them apart, even after the consummation.
Watched the first few episodes of Ek Haseena Thi and Kumkum Bhagya.
Ek Haseena Thi got off to a grand start ... very impressive ... but today I was not impressed with the acting of either Sanjeeda or Vatsal. The older actors are far more impressive, especially Simone Singh ... she sends shivers down my spine. Will watch to see how it goes for a few more episodes.
Kumkum Bhagya ... am liking it so far ... standard fare, but decent watch. Not impressed with the rockstar so much, but I like Pragya and Suresh ... the actor playing Suresh is surprisingly good. I thought he would be typical cliched nerdy guy ... but he is very likeable.

Dia - I'm kinda sorta following the exact same list you posted except for Kumkum Bhagya. Will give it a shot sometime.
ReplyDeleteI really like Gustakh Dil, it is a very close second for me after RR. Laajo is amazing and Nikhi;'s acting has improved quite a bit.
Have a great weekend - Sahana.
Sahana,
DeleteI'm not actually following QH ... I just tuned in on Friday to see the ending of season 1. And I got so put off by all the killings that I didn't even watch till the end of the episode. I won't be following season 2 at all. I think Gul is really jinxed ... the endings of all her shows are mired in controversy ... Geet, IPK and now QH. Since I never fell in love with either Maaneet or Asad-Zoya, I think I'm immune to her brand of magic, it was always Sanaya who was the main draw of IPK for me. Neither Geet nor Zoya worked for me ... only Sanaya managed to make me like the bubbly, chirpy heroine.
Most of the other shows I like don't have bubbly heroines, they have more serious, down to earth and sensible ones, whom I connect with more. Be it Ratan in Veera, Laajo in GD ... and now Pragya in Kumkum Bhagya ... and to some extent, Durga in EHT ... but Sanjeeda's acting is not up to par for me yet. Yes, I also feel Nikhil's acting has improved a lot, and on the whole, the show is still worth watching ... although it moves REALLY SLOWLLYYYYY!!!!
Ha ha..One post got swallowed up ...trust that to happen to me!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Here after a long time...
Been quite busy...too busy for my own good...and I asked for this! Sigh....
Anyway, as the only person in R&R who followed QH till the end...here is my tribute to season 1.
Tried connecting with RR- not happening...
Its been one tiring ride in QH..thru many ups and downs...most people left the show as Karan left...surprisingly the trps stayed decent...
Anyway, as U said, Dia...Thank God IPK fans did not let Gul kill ASR,....she wanted the same for Asad...but I guess someone stopped her...
Instead we had her killing of the pair for good..for a season two...
Anyway, here is from my IF post...since I am the only person who followed this show till the end...
Here goes...
Diary of a QHian: And the Curtain Falls...Qubool Hai.
DeleteDear diary,
There is a smile in my heart despite the heaviness that the episode has freshly imprinted on my heart. So we bid adieu to season one of QH...Its been one heck of a journey...for the protagonists...for the actors...for the team...for the audience..DRAMA IN REAL LIFE!ShockedEmbarrassed
I never thought I d say Qubool Hai to Gul killing off a romantic pair...par karna pad reha hai.Confused I know many will firmly disagree with me. But then, that is what the show is about...Qubool Hai...No matter what...The Show Must Go On. And if Gul wants to see if a season 2 will work out, what better platform than a channel that wants to hang on to her and an actress who is bankable. And considering Asad had died many months back for herCry, when KSG wanted to quit with a 4 month notice...all I can say is..I am glad AsYa is together...Smile
I, Asad Ahmed Khan, take you Zoya Faruqui, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part...correction...even death cannot part us...That is the most beautiful parting gift Gul gave as she sailed out of season 1...A happily ever after AsYa...TOGETHER FOREVER!
A quick peek into the fate of the characters that held us bound to the screen over the past months...Smile
Rashid: He has waited all his life to be reconciled to Najma and Asad..and now they are with him. He had the good fortune to be forgiven of his sins before he left for his heavenly abode.
Dilshad: A Woman who has lost everything? A few moments back, she was holding on to her husband's picture...missing him in her life...and now she is running away with her grandchildren. She could easily give up this fight..but she has been left in charge..as the guardian angel to the children of her children. Indeed, Najma was foreseeing the future of her daughter when she exclaimed that her daughter was closer to Dilshad.
Najma: Loved the parting shot.Clap And the parting wordsClap...the events of her short life play out before her eyes...and all of them are happy memories. She leaves a loving family behind...but there is a smile on her lip..a peacefulness on her face as she utters Qubool Hai...to the call from her heavenly father. (I loved the flashback of the wedding scene here...Najma was saying Qubool Hai as she entered a new life with Imran..and now she was saying the same, as she entered another realm of existence...)
Shireen: She is a woman who loved her husband over anything else...now she lives...for her children. She has come a long way, by accepting Dilshad as her sister...but she has to live on with the pain of separation...in a world alien to her, until she is called.
DeleteNikhat: The girl who was pried out of her shell..who could proudly look up to her dead father in heaven, and tell him that she had made him proud...she had learned to live! She is ready for the storms that life has in store...another Dilshad has been born...nothing can wither her spirit now.
Ayan: A boy had grown up...stepped out of the shadows of his father and brother. He may or may not have forgiven his father...but he lost everything when he lost his Humeira. And now he will live with that void of his own making...and hopefully find someone who will fill that emptiness.
Haider and Humeira: Dilwaale dulhaniya le jayengey. The dulhan will stick to her husband, no matter what...He is her rock. He is what makes her forget the betrayals of her past.
Gafur Ahmed Siddiqui: He confesses to his crimes..shamefacedly...to be cast away by the girl who sought him all her life. He became the disappointment he always feared he would be...until the man he once hated the most- Asasd Ahmed Khan- redeemed him, for his Zoya. Zoya may not even have been aware of this emptiness...she never had the time, after her children came...but he sensed it all the same. He knew that it was time for them to settle all their dues on earth... And the father receives his pardon...he dies forgiven. Again sweet memories of his two little girls..all that really mattered to him, though it took him time to realize that...
Raziya: She lives to pay for her sins...she is doomed to a life of solitude...
Tanveer: Mentally deranged? Morally so disintegrated that she has invited the devil to dwell within her..that gives her almost supernatural powers...she has sold herself to the darkness...there is only hell for her...in life, and in death...
The last episode of season 1:
DeleteIt was done beautifully.Clap I am glad I was mentally prepared for this massacre. I loved Raqesh today...especially in Gafur's room...(We lost such fine actors!Cry)...
Tanveer goes on to stab Asad and Zoya later...she claims she will make Asad suffer by killing Zoya slowly...Cry
Sure enough...the first time Zoya gets hurt, Asad knows it...it jerks him back to reality...and he hears her cry...That wills him to get up and find her...a battle they cannot win...a viciousness they cannot escape from or counter...Ouch
Dilshad is out in the garden...playing with the children. Suddenly the house feels eerie to her.Broken Heart She has only a bad premonition as she goes looking for Najma...she was simply taking too long to change and come...
A mother's worst moment..seeing her child's dead body...Dilshad can barely breathe out Asad's name...and she runs...to witness another home...all her three children are being taken from herCry...minutes before she had told Zoya that they were to accept everything that came from Allah- good or bad...and she shuts her granddaughter's eyes to the death of her parents...
AsYa...Last moments...gazing at their daughter...their future...their legacy...CrySmile
And spending their last moments on earth, reliving the beautiful moments they spent as one...they both remember the other saying qubool hai...to living together...dying together...
Thus victory is theirs...Hum na rahengey, tum na rahoge...phir bhi rahengey nishaaniyaan...
Sanam Ahmed Khan: A little girl has been orphaned. And worse, a part of her has been taken away. Twins share everything from their mother's wombs...they are truly lucky to have a soul mate from their conception. Sanam has lost a part of herself...a part she may not even remember...a void that cannot be filled by any other relationship. That vacuum in her heart connects her to her parents...her twin...Sehar Ahmed Khan...
DeleteWhat happened to the second twin? Does Tanveer get to rule over this spitting image of Zoya? A Sita and Gita track? Naaahhh..
I hope Ayan or Humeira comes to claim their niece...I really want her to grow up between the two houses...to be introduced when Karanvir is ready to leave the show...or better still ...let that be another romantic track...
Who knows what the future will bring to Qubool Hai...I pity the true blue fans who were not forewarned of this catastrophe...it was quite intense and heart wrenching...being forced to let a part of your virtual world die...Ouch
I hope and wish the best to Gul and her team...Embarrassed
I will definitely give season 2 a try...and write on what strikes me...all of Gul's heroes in the past have been intense...Aahil is amusing...Casanova!!! Looks like he does not carry a baggage aroundShockedLOL
...wonder how it will work out...looking forward to it...Like I mentioned to someone...if QH 1 helped me tide over IPKKKND, I hope QH2 will help me get over QH1...though I am very skeptical.Wink
So...the curtain falls...everyone says qubool hai...
"A girl calls and asks, "Does it hurt very much to die?"
"Well, sweetheart," I tell her, "yes, but it hurts a lot more to keep living."
Chuck Palahniuk, Survivor
"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time."
Mark Twain
"When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun."
William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
If Shakespeare gave a happy ending in death to his most intense couple, why can't Gul try to immortalize one couple, along the same lines? They did not die of old age or cancer(Not that that is a bad end) ...they died young...preserved forever...young and together...looking down from heaven and smiling up on the adventures their daughter(s) is/ are to take...
Sigh...Thank god for internet...I was prepared for two weeks in advance for this... I don't know what logic brought them to this end...but Gul had planned to kill off Asad when KSG gave a 4 month notice, citing health reasons..what followed was some ugly name calling by Zee, Karan kicked out...and...IPK horrors ten times over..lol....
DeleteWhat an experience!!! Rofl.. There is more comedy and tragedy in Gul's real life...
And now, KSG joins 4 Lions as Producer ...Gul sticks to the story she wrote 4 months back..this time she finishes Zoya off with Asad..(Thank God!)
Chalo..all I can say is, season two looks interesting...since nothing else interests me much...
Shows I enjoy catching up with...
Ek Muthhi aasmaan
Aur Pyar
Mohabbatein
BI
RR
JA
Kumkum looks good...by the 10 min I watched....Ek Haseena looks average..
Guess it is true that we can only be wedded to one show at a time...Good!
Wishing U all a Happy Easter....
*hugs*
Su, Beautiful writing. Absolutely amazing!!!
DeleteSu,
DeleteHats off to you for following QH through all the ups and downs ... and beautifully written!!! I wonder if the makers actually had this depth of thought that you have seen in the show. I stopped watching it ages ago, even stopped keeping up with the WUs, so had no idea where the story was going. I did tune in to watch some of the visually stunning sequences in the desert.
I didn't know that Gul was planning to kill off Asad when KSG left. I feel sorry for her, she has the world's worst luck with her male leads ... they all develop bigger dreams after she gives them the platform to dream on. Believe KSG has joined her as co-producer for season 2.
Thanx, Shweth and Dia.
DeleteKSG....actually the health reasons he quoted were genuine..he was not quitting for a movie or anything...of course, he is very good friends with Gul and Gorky...he even warned his fans off Gul bashing...
In between there were some quite believable news from many sources about SP doing a show with Gul and Barun...Barun refused to comment initially ...that sounded like positive news and then he took up a project with John Abraham.Recently he clearly stated he is more interested in movies than daily soaps..thank God he made up his mind! Lol.
Season two: Everyone says it is going to be on a shoestring budget...perhaps for only 6 months etc...KSG is on his internship. rofl...the guy is unbelievable..anything but ordinary, it seems...lol .(Ha ha..that's his latest tattoo...he is a one man entertainment show. lol)
Season 1: Rishabh..Vikrant..Waqar...they all started getting good offers....and KSG's notice was the last nail in the coffin, I guess...
I agree a lot of it was ruined by some absurd tracks with Nikhat...(People blame Tanveer..I have nothing for or against psychopaths...until they cross a line now and then..lol) plus Gul wanted to explore Zoyaan...(She did make some beautiful moments there too...exploring Asad's jealousy and possessiveness...)...well...I feel bad for Raqesh..he was good too. But Gul had made up her mind about AsYa...
Mohit as Haider did an impressive job. Sanaya can be proud of him.
And on the whole, the audience kept to the show...more or less stayed in top 3 in Zee...mostly 2.
Chalo...hopefully I will find something else to bak bak on..bye till then..have fun.. and Congrats, Dia.
By the way, we crossed the 7 lakh views milestone a few days back :) Thanks to all of you who still tune in here to read my bakwas, and to add your own ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Dia for 7 lakh mile stone:) :)
