Sounds like the title of a suspense drama ... which is pretty much what it was today :) Alternating between two alternate worlds ... mythology and actual logic.

The first half of the episode was quite ridiculous ... the start was decent, with Rudra collapsing, Paro not noticing at first, and assuming he's angry with her and sulking as usual ... his choked out "Paro ..." and her rushing back ... her demanding an ambulance and a doctor ... and repeating the demand more forcefully when everyone else just continued crying ... till then, Paro showed sense and presence of mind.
Went downhill rapidly ... with the hand on throat to contain the poison ... like, seriously? That won't stop the poison from being absorbed if he has already swallowed it, it will only choke him! And the doctor confirming that it helped save his life was too much to swallow! If he didn't swallow the poison, then how did it get absorbed enough to reach his brain?
Too direct a life from mythology ... with complete and glaring absence of logic. The writers need to use their brains ... did they all go on holiday with Sanaya?!
Oh wait ... GH did.
So the doctors realised quickly what the problem was ... that was pretty quick ... tracing what poison has been used, usually takes some time. And they did try to make the laddoos less conspicuous by Maithili saying that they all ate them, so how could only Rudra have been poisoned.
Paro's lecture on Shivaji and Neelkanth was totally out of place ... rather than being worried about the love of her life fighting for his life, she was giving him lectures on symbolism. She didn't seem too worried that he had till sunrise to recover.
And of course, like all doctors in all shows, the usual ... 'he has 12 hours to recover or else ..'
When will soap writers accept that no doctor will ever say such a thing?!
The rest of the episode was all about Maithili and Paro trying to trace the poisoner ... and succeeding ... with Maithili checking with magnet to confirm iron filings, and actually collecting the evidence ... while Mohini and Sumer, rather unbelievably, decided to finish the job they had started in hospital the same night ... and even with Rudra in such a critical condition, there was no nurse around checking regularly on him. And what was that needle all about?
Watched the episode with hubby ... he almost choked over the pressing the throat to contain the spread of poison part ... and when Mohini was taking an eon to poke the needle, he asked impatiently, why doesn't she get on with it? What is she waiting for?
But that's the stuff normal dramas are made of ... they specialise in hanging the dramatic moments till the end of the episode.

Things I liked -
Paro realised that she was the target for the poison.
Maithili realised that there have been two attacks in the last one month ... on Dilsher and on Rudra.
So Mohini being discovered is a certainty ... but how will Danveer and Samrat and Sumer take the accusation? And what will Rudra do?
Will Paro feel that she is responsible for both attacks in some way ... Dilsher was attacked to stop her wedding, and Rudra ate the laddoo instead of her and hence saved her ... both are in danger as long as she is around ... hence she decides to leave.
Can Dilsher PLEASE come back?!
The iron filings idea has to be the stupidest way to try to kill a person ... even stupider than scorpions and dropping electric wires into swimming pools! And Mohini leaving the box of iron filings ling in plain sight on the table, was even stupider ... she has lost it!

Yeah! I thought yesterday's episode was a lil ridiculous like you mentioned. And the end..... unnecessarily prolonged. I didn't quite njoy tdy's story.
ReplyDeleteSanaya was on leave for 3-4 days, so I was prepared for less of Paro and more of Maithili-Mohini and Rudra. I was actually surprised to find so much of Paro today ... although the last couple of days it's been obvious she shot her scenes separately.
DeleteOn re-watch, it wasn't that bad ... I found the pressing the throat part to stop the poison from spreading completely ridiculous, and Paro's talk on Neelkanth was far too obvious ... ramming the point about the symbolism down our throats, just in case viewers missed it. Unnecessary ... they should have toned it down and made it more about Paro pleading with Rudra to recover, bringing in the Neelkanth just momentarily.
I didn't mind the rest ... was happy to see Paro using her brains and Maithili too. The iron filings was such a stupid plan by Mohini! Why didn't she use rat poison or something less conspicuous? And then she leaves the box of iron filings lying around for anyone to find! Thank God she IS going to be found out ... after doing such obvious things, if she still escapes detection, it would be ridiculous!!!

Couldn't Mohini think of anything MORE easy to find? And why did Mohini leave them lying around in her bedroom? Just to make things easier for Maithili ... knowing that Maithili wouldn't find them unless they were out in full view!
And how come Rudra didn't taste the iron filings when he was eating the laddoo? Some strong teeth he has, I must say ... and no taste buds!
I am guessing they ate the loha churma that clouded their brain?

I was literally screaming at Maitli, show it to Daanveer, he is more likely to believe you than Samrat or any other person.
I have no idea where they are going with Mohini.
Truth be told, I abso-freaking love Mohini's character, brings the much needed spice in the show. Give me her anyday over Rudra's moodswings.
They should not have gone for the killing be it Disher or Rudra/Paro by Mohini, that is ridiculous. There are many ways the writers could have thought of handling this issues.
Looks like GH is good at improvising the romance with the same framework, but can never write for a decent villain, grrr....
BTW, Random Q - There is this Bakra movie supposed to be coming, saw the director was Janaki Vishwanathan, is it the same Janaki V., the scriptwriter? Just wondering.....

i don't know what they're going to do with this track.and what about ST's tweet about passion and romance in rr for next 4 weeks.is this what he meant?like seriously!and cvs,if u ever come across this post,pls BRING ATLEAST DILSHER BACK.i have lost count of the no.of times this demand has been repeated.i would love to see things somewhat sorting out b/w parud,rudra back to jaipur mode and then entry of mala and rudra's encounter with her and keeping her hostage and paro mending their relation.and for some time thakur and definitely laila must be kept out of the storyline and yes,kaakisa should be exposed and sent away from the haveli.as i said earlier,the 'hostage' part was mentioned by sadiya siddiqui in one of her interviews earlier.hope they retain the track and play it out with good promos and some SBB/SBS coverage[.i'm tired of seeing beintehaa couple everyday in sbs/sbb].what do u all say.share ur views and expecting ur reply dia.

If they were aiming for separation track, then they could have done it with the Social Workers. The SW could have said, maybe you are not harassing her, but you definitely don't seem to want the marriage. It would be better, if Paro comes with us. You can decide if you want her back. For our part, we will give you a clean chit.

If an actor goes no leave, why is there the zabardasti need for him/her to be shown more.
When Ashish went on leave, they could have sent him off somewhere for some official work.
Even now rather than the poison laddu, they could have focussed on Him getting his uniform Back, Again emotional Rondu Rudra on getting his uniform back , pretend to discuss Tejavat with Aman, Mohin-Sunehri-Maitli-Samrat-Sumer scenes, problem solved.
When the episodes are good, they don't show promos.
When they show promos, episodes are bad,

Hopefully with Sanz back, they might have an offscreen segment today or tomorrow.

I really want her to leave him ... maybe once the hungama of Teju is over, he is caught, Mala comes back, and Rudra loses his mental balance (what there is left of it) again over khubsoorat aurat and their deceit ... then she can leave him.
Offscreen segment aa gaya ... SBS and E24. Paro running to the temple ... so all those crying that she didn't feel sad enough will hopefully shut up today.

DeleteThe blog has this issue sometimes ... it sends some comments directly into Spam, and I have to retrieve them. It norally sorts out after you post a few times, seems it starts recognising the posters after a while ... thoda slow hai! So don't stop posting ... I'm back home and will retrieve the posts as soon as I see them.
Hopefully kaakisa being exposed means the return of Thakursa, Laila ... they can even introduce other characters, take Rudra and Paro to Jaipur ... change tracks ... the writers really seem to be struggling here. Agree with all your suggestions ... they need to get Dilsher, Thakur and Mala back ASAP ... get rid of Mohini for now ... she is making no sense at all these days!
The show is about Rudra and Paro, and Rudra's demons about his mother ... they spent the first three months showing him crying about his mother at every second moment ... now that he has discovered she is happily married a second time, has he forgotten and forgiven everything? The hatred for Paro makes no sense now ... it's all so forced! Somehow Rudra's alternating love and hate seems more like mood swings than actual emotional conflict ... the swings are so drastic and sudden. Maybe it's the actor who is unable to convey it properly ... because on paper, Rudra is a better written character than Paro ... at least, he was far more detailed. Paro is the one evolving better now. But they need some consistency in the storyline ... and yes ...

BRING IN A YOUNG OFFICER WHO DRIVES RUDRA MAD WITH JEALOUSY ... if they are going the Othello way, then let them do it properly. Or else sort out Rudra's mommy issues, then show Rudra Paro trying to find Nandini ... there are so many tracks they can follow ... but they are going on and on with Mohini and her stupid plots!
Ratna can't agree more than what you pointed out about the plots. I have lost some posts while publishing..but very rarely. Hope Dia will address your issue. Keep writing. It's really good to read from you all. I love this place from IPK days. Thanks Dia for giving a platform to share our views :)

ReplyDeleteHope they tighten their script and do justice to their story, actors and loyal fans. I think the team is under pressure, don't know whether it's only TRP or any other pressing issue. Wish CV's sort out their issues asap. Give us an enjoyable ride and wind off soon once the story is over.

DeleteI agree, the CVs seem to be under some pressure, problem is they right now are facing an identity crisis as to how to brand their own show.
If the actor playing Tejavat is not free, then show him killed. Bring his Brother as the new villain as Bhejavat (Bheja ka Vaat) as Thakur of Sonagarh and take the story from there na....atleast don't show both BSD Kakusa & Rudra sitting at home all the time...
Shwethu, you need to tweet this to the CVs. Right now they seem to be scrambling around like headless chickens ... there are so many things they CAN do, but are not doing! Agree, ditch Teju and get in his brother or cousin ... if the guy is busy with another show, replace him.
DeleteDia & Shwetha, Hope CVs read the posts here. So many ideas for plots. I'm impressed. I too agree with you, they should concentrate on parallel plots , because love - hate equation with Parud is not so convincing now after Jaipur. As Dia pointed out it's now like mood swings. Let Rudra take his time to accept Paro beyond his past baggage, they can slowly build their relation,mean time other stories can be build. It will be a treat to watch when they fall in love slowly. The leads have sizzling chemistry.
ReplyDeleteThis team has good actors on board. So they should use them in more convincing way. They should not have made Mohini a murderer. That too with her son as a partner in crime. It's not convincing and unethical. They can show her jealous , insecure about her family and future in Haveli, so doing some mind games. But murder.....That's why now a days we find her more irritating. RR has potential. Lets see what's in store.
Agree, Lakshmi ... making Mohini a murderer is pushing her too far into the black side ... how can they ever redeem her after this? Is she also going to leave the show temporarily? Or even permanently? How can Danveer live with a woman who tried to kill his own brother ... a brother he seems to love and respect a lot ... just for property? How can Samrat and Sunehri, who seem pretty decent, live with a mother like that? Just because she didn't succeed in her attempts doesn't make her any better. So I'm wondering what they will do with Mohini once she is exposed.
DeleteThey HAVE to start some new tracks ... they have nothing else going on at all. Earlier they had Samrat-Maithili adoption issie, Sunehri's love dreams ... Sumer's plans to sell the haveli ... they have just dropped everything. Seems like going the IPK way, with all the concentration on the leads ... which is not good for the show :(
