Sanaya ... News

22nd Feb 2013

I thought I wouldn't have any news of Sanaya to post for about a month as she was away on holiday ... happily it appears I was wrong.

Tellychakkar article says Nautanki telefilms, PH of Madhubala wants to make a love story, for either SP or Life OK, and are looking at Sanaya for the lead. It appears that she is in the only name in the running.
A number of other sites report the same news ... all apparently copied from the TC article. 

And of course Sanaya has to be out of town when this news comes, so we can't get confirmation for a while! What timing!
Chalo, at least we are getting news of her ... and our sunshine girl is very much in demand. And it seems that Star is making sure they retain her ... a lead role again, that too, so soon. That must be a first for Star. Dancing

Fortunately, the news is confirmed to be not just speculation, as Raj Baddhan has confirmed it in his tweets, and also said that she has not confirmed yet. So apparently the ball is in her court. Hope the show is for Star Plus, as that is what Raj Baddhan indicates, although TC mentions both channels.

 Sanaya boots out Aamna?
So Sanaya is being courted by all the channels ... I still would prefer a love story on Star Plus, rather than a light- hearted drama on a Gujarati family. Besides, much more importantly ... I don't get Sony.

Telly Buzz confirms that Sanaya might be in Optimystix next on Sony ... though neither Sanaya nor the producer have confirmed yet.

Another unknown site says that all these are rumors so far, and Sanaya is taking her time to pick up her new show ... methinks she is as confused as we are. Whatever the truth ... she is very much in demand, and hopefully SP will try their best to retain her. Even though I don't mind Sony, for her sake, I want her to stay on the top GEC. Still no confirmation yet, so I'm keeping fingers. toes and all possible body parts crossed.

SN - I DO mind Sony, I don't get that wretched channel. Can Star Plus please take over the show from Sony? I like the concept of the show, and I also think it's a good idea for Sanaya to pick something other than a love story this time. Comparisons will be bound to arise with IPK, since it was such a huge hit. So it's a better idea for her to do a light hearted drama instead. But I want  it on SP ... SP played dirty by pulling off IPK at a moment's notice, after she slogged her butt off for it ... they damn well better make it up to her.

    regarding confirmation, i think offer is there, but awaiting Sanaya's reply

    i think there was an offer from 4Lions to Sanaya, which did not work out, so technically the old article by TC speculating Sanaya might work with 4Lions was not wrong.

    lets see what happens, hope for the best :)

      either 4Lions are taking the same concept to another channel or they are coming up with a new concept, since Gul is not now so involved with QH there might be another show from their PH.

      Yes, that was my info too, that there was an offer from 4 Lions to Sanaya for the Life OK show, with Avinash of Choti Bahu ... and the show got scrapped. Of course Sanaya denied signing it at all ... so it got scrapped before she even got back from her break.

      What puzzles is Nishi Verma jumping in to say that actors get offers all the time, let the news get confirmed. Pretty much confirms that there is an offer and waiting for Sanaya to reply. But also indicates that 4 Lions is planning another show after all, whether for SP/Life OK or another channel, pata nahin ... and they still seem to be interested in Sanaya.

      Well, Sanaya did say she had a few offers ... we've just got news of two, there may be more. And if there are, Star will struggle to retain her, so they'd better give her SP. Sanaya should not settle for Life OK.
      Me too hoping for Nautanki films and SP, please.

    If Sanaya HAS TO GO for Nautanki Films, at least I can rest easy that GH and that MB director are stuck with MB.

    I wish they'd get those dialogue directors, and a good writer and a brilliant director- even the YRKKH director should be good(Yes, that boring couple had better chemistry than RK and Madhu) ...I don't even care who the male lead is...(there are many talented guys out there and ONE Sanaya) :D

    I just got the Feb Zing issue ... there is an interview with Saurabh Tiwari, the head of Nautanki.
    Apparently its a joint venture with him and Abhinav Shukla. His writing team includes Gautam Hegde, Janki and Raghuveer Shekhawat - isn't he the dialogue writer for Veera also? And two more people ... five people on the writing team. Creative Director is Mukta Dhond and there's a head of Production, Sanjay Singh. He hasn't mentioned anyone else. This is their first production as an independent company, BAG films is their stakeholder.

    I think they're doing quite well for a first production :))) But they could step up on the direction front, direction could be loads better.

      And yes, Su ... male lead they do have some choices, there are quite a few good looking men out there, who are decent actors as well. Sanaya - ONLY ONE. Apparently she is the only name mentioned so far ... so she is the first choice.

      What a long way she has come ... even after MJHT, she wasn't being offered her choice of roles ... to now, when she is the only one in the running. Only if she says no, will they look at others :)))

      Dedication, perseverance and sheer hard work does pay in the long run. God bless her!!!

      wonderful news Dia........hope to see the sunshine girl back on screen soon. Also hope she gets a story AND team that does her FULL justice!

      By the way, anyone have any tips on how to watch Veera post official transmission? I used to go on Youtube or daily motion, but SP has done those in now....

      Somehow I will be happy if the PH is Nautanki Films. I am not particular of the channel - I have both Life Ok as well as SP at home so either one should be good enough. I am feeling it will be Life Ok because now SP is launching bigger shows on LifeOk like Savitri and there are couple of shows that are ready to wrap up on LifeOk. Either way just hope the PH is not 4Lions but Nautanki Films.

      MB is their first production?
      I didn't know that...definitely...it is better than good for a first production.

      Ditto thoughts on the direction. Actually, they just need to get a specialist director for the romantic scenes...the present guy is doing the tear tanker and fire tanker scenes quite well.

      I was impressed with the scene where Madhu breaks down when her fiancee breaks up with her...had a lot of expectations after that...the recent break up with RK had the same brilliance. So, the edirector is actually not that bad, I feel.

      GH...I am not too sure. He does not understand a woman's mind, from what I see in MB. I am surprised, actually.Does he still write for SNS? He seems to be writing for and about only women in that show...

      When it comes to a woman suffering humiliation at the hands of her lover...he is very immature. I guess he is not married. His wife would tell him he is taking MB in the wrong direction. (Heh.. heh..She wouldn't have to tell him. He would SIMPLY KNOW after living with her, what self respect means to a woman, and how she strikes back when that is denied her.)

      (I know in the end, RK will fall at Madhu's feet and beg her pardon...that is not what I am interested in...he simply cannot make Madhu hang around RK like this under whatever pretext. The last I saw, she was arguing with her mom that she cannot shut out RK from her life, so she will go and work in his unit...to prove a point.

      I can understand that if she is in equal stature as him, like if she was the female lead- then that statement makes sense. Why does she want to let herself available to be degraded by him further? If she can't get work as a beautician, go work for some other movie project...make a name for herself...makes more sense to me. Or is she secretly hoping she can break his ahankaar- it is her duty to, as his devoted wife?)

      Sanaya with GH...please don't give me another MB.

      MJHT, may be...he wrote that too, right? And that was not bad, I suppose.

      Yes, GH wrote MJHT too. But I agree with you, GH is awful at writing strong female characters, he makes them all fall at the feet of the hero eventually. I just hope that Raghuveer Shekhawat is more involved, if this show with Sanaya takes off. We might get a female lead with some dignity. Hopefully without being boring.

      The only exception to this actually was Gunjan - although she started off very timid and weepy, she evolved into a really strong person. And she always called the shots in the Samrat Gunjan relationship after they confessed their love - in a very nice way mostly :))) But before, when Gunjan was in love with Samrat, and he was not with her, there were times when I wanted to tear her heair out for being so sacrificing and subservient! Very Gopi-vhau like!!!!

      Agree completely with you about MB ... the best would be to show her going away from him at this point, but I guess for TRP sake, they can't separate the leads ... so they have to show her hanging around. And that means she loses her self-respect and her dignity.
      Again I remember Saans - Kanwaljeet had an affair and Neena Gupta kicked him out instantly, no questions asked, no justification allowed. Same with Simran in Astitva ... If your husband treats you like dirt, you don't hang around waiting for more of the same ... you leave with your head held high. Or you give it back to him - like Khushi did in IPK in that Swami track!!! That was another thing I liked about Khushi - she never allowed Arnav to get away with everything, she always fought back.

      Another thing Saurabh mentioned in his interview was that RK is the most fascinating character - they had to get him right, as they knew Drashti would be able to carry MB, plus her character was that way - I presume he means MB is the typical FL, with no grey.

      What they should do with MB if they want the leads in the same frame is, make RK work in a movie with a hero of equal stature and make Madhu HIS spot...does not have to be a negative character or a knight in shining armour...just someone neutral or sympathetic.


      That scene where RK whispers something into his female lead's ears, when he wants her to get Madhu into his Vanity...and the way she orders Madhu to do the same...it was creepy...that actress could interpret it in so many demeaning ways. I know it is fictional, but that storyline is creepy for me. This kind of creativity is a little weird and baffling for me.

    One more offer for Sanaya ... added the link on the main post. This time a Gujarati drama on Sony. HT adds that all the big channels seem to be wooing Sanaya ... seems like her contract with Star is nearing its end. So Star will have to fight to retain her ... which means they have to give her SP. She won't settle for Life OK, she moved to Star Plus in the first place because it has the wider reach.

      I feel 4L will be more than interested in her. And sanaya will return the favor if Gul her something different from Khushi. The two women seemed to respect each other a lot from what I saw in the interview. If it was not for Gul, Sanaya would not have got Khushi and if it was not for Sanaya, Khushi would not have worked out. I think both of them know that.

      Plus Sanaya has a lot of appreciation for the way the PH functions...even as she was supporting Barun, San said that all producers wouldn't be as cool as 4L about him leaving the show.

      Sanaya on Sony: IMHO, Sony is the channel that experiments the most....it is the best platform to showcase TV shows for the thinking woman...and the fact that they don't seem to give two hoots for the trps, puts less pressure on the PHs and we end up getting pretty watchable shows.

      BALH- even as I criticise EK for certain creative liberties she has taken is undoubtedly one of the most watchable shows...the direction is pretty good and the supporting cast is superb... They can run an entire track on Vikram and Neha and their kids...no one would miss Ram and Priya.(The best written parallel jodi I have seen on television)

      Parvarish, Kuchh toh log, Kya hua tera Vaada, Amita ka Amit (seen only the promos)...definitely there is a lot of experimentation on this channel...and NOT ONE SAAS BAHU DRAMA!

      From the Gul interview, I don't think Sanaya will act in a 4 lions production just out of respect or gratitude. She will look at the character and if it's something she wants to do and would like doing. Yes, she has a lot of respect for Gul, and she is quick to acknowledge what Khushi has brought her in terms of fame and recognition. But she is in a good place right now, and she has for the first time, the freedom to experiment and try new things because she is getting her choice of offers.

      I actually feel she should branch out and try a different PH ... out of her comfort zone. And it would be good for her to see the way other PH's function ... some are more professional and organized, some may be less creative. 4 Lions is not the best around, it's not the worst. For a person who is so professional and organized herself (in terms of her discipline and punctuality), she might find it a good experience to try a PH which is also more organized ... which 4 lions definitely is not. She might deliver even better results as an actor ... you do NOT give your best when you are dog tired and have to be on screen 20 minutes out of 22, five days a week. Even Sanaya has said more than once that TV is a harsh medium, you don't have the TIME to give your best and do frequent re-takes if you feel you haven't done your best ... there is just no time.

      But again, that's not my prerogative, it's her choice to make. I do trust her judgement enough to know I will watch her in her next show ... if she keeps me entertained, I will continue watching.

      Sony ... I don't get the channel - my ONLY reason for not wanting her on it :))) That apart, I'm not really particular what channel she comes on. SP's biggest flaw is their interference, their biggest positive is their wide reach. Sony doesn't interfere, but their GRP's have been dropping recently, not many shows have done well. But that could be because they purposely cater to a more urban market - audience like you and me, in other words. Hence the lack of concern about TRP's ... which is good.
      So both positives and negatives everywhere.

      By the way, there are only two saas bahu sagas on air on SP currently, DABH and SNS. The rest are not really saas bahu, they classify as family dramas for sure, but that age-old saas vs bahu taunting and backstabbing inlaws' family is receding slowly. Even DABH was not supposed to be saas bahu, it was supposed to be a girl realizing her dreams - problem is, the girl can't act for nuts. So Bhabho has taken over the show.
      Kaali, Khamoshiyan, SC, Veera, YRKKH, PKDH, Behna ... where are the saas bahu shows here? Neither were Sajda or Ruk Jaana Nahin or IPK or Maryada or SGP ... EDSKPH was somewhat, and it was yanked off.

      SP does experiment ... my problem is not that. My problem with them is their excessive interference in the storylines and their obsession with TRP's. Which is why most of the shows go downhill ... SP doesn't let them stick to their original premise.

      My honest opinion - I want Sanaya to come on any other channel other than SP and in any other PH other than 4Lions.

      Why not SP :- (reasons listed below)

      - SP is quite ruthless and for them the only language they understand is the language of TRPS. Low TPRs = booting.

      - Right now Sanaya is still in the Khushi frame of mind for the SP audience and if she comes on another channel it will be easy for her to sink into her new character without undue comparisons and undue criticism.

      - Even though SP's storylines are touted as different in the end, the interference of the channel more or less makes all the serials look like clone of each other albeit with subtle differences. Though I agree the backstabbing vamps and classic kitchen politics is surely out of the way now on SP.

      - Last but not least they don't think twice to throw you under the bus to save their skin in future no matter how loyal you might have been - I would be very wary of these people. They are worse than enemies if they strike when I least expect it. And sad part of it actors are never bigger than channel and no one goes against channels.

      Why not 4Lions :- Reasons

      1. The PH is grossly mismanaged - no 2 questions on that

      2. The PH can't space their sets, wardrobe and accessories between their different serials. One serial starts the other starts to tank.

      3. They hardly ever have banks ready for their serial and they indulge a lot in last minute shooting. It is high time Sanaya works with people who know how to go about the story.

      4. They hardly push their actors for awards and try to get their actors recognition.

      5. They have done the innocent heroine - brooding hero concept to death. It is high time they come up with a new concept.

      6. Their shows always have weak female characters and Gul completely is fascinated by sadist hero. Sorry I need some thing strong for Sanaya to play - Innocent girl tormented under the hands of grey hero ke din gaye ab.

      7. I personally would want Sanaya to break away from the romantic leads and do a family sitcom.

      So SP and 4Lions is a big no-no for me. But like you say it is all up to Sanaya to decide. With Sony they never give 2 hoots to the TRPs. Their sister channel SAB TV is still known only for comedy. Never do they indulge or change the concept and try to make it a saas-bahu. And Sony shows cater for urban audience. So my vote definitely is for Sony TV.

      I agree with you on many of your points ... I don't think Sanaya would run any risk of being 'thrown under the bus' ... because she is very careful and much more level headed ... besides, her priority is TV and she has made it very clear. If her priorities change, she will make that abundantly clear as well.

      So channel not being Sony - my only reason against it is because I don't have it :) For the rest, am indifferent ... Sony does have an edge over SP for all the reasons you mention :)

      Daily sitcom ... like I said, comedy is THE MOST DIFFICULT genre to write, without it turning slapstick. And the quality of comedy on Indian tv today is totally pathetic.
      SO NO DAILY comedy show please - it will degenerate into buffoonery in no time ... or the characters will be turned brainless. I would much rather have a romance drama. Comedy shows should not be more frequent than weekly - and I want to see Sanaya in a daily. I am selfish that way :)))
      Plus for all that Sanaya loves doing comedy, I love her the most in her emotional roles - again, my selfish demand as a viewer.

      In the end, we can discuss all we like ... have to wait and see what Sanaya chooses :)

    My definition of Saas bahu drama was incorrect, I agree. I put most of those shows that seem to concentrate even a wee bit on MIL- DIL issues in that category.
    Sasuraal Simar Ka, HOusewife(This one is saas bahu), Sapney Suhaane ladakpan ke, Kairi...Rishta Khatta Meetha(Another Saas Bahu- must have gone off air, since I don't see it any more), Punar Vivah ...the bits and pieces that I have seen of these shows have highlighted that saas- bahu friction in one way or the other, may be not as the central theme.

    As a category, I guess you call them all family dramas.

    And I hate the way they degrade women and to tell the truth I feel these shows mislead our young girls and prepare them to expect a witch as their MIL...more harmful than the message ASR and RK give our young girls!

    He he..I realised this last week...Pavitra Rishtaa and Uttaran...I have been trying to make some sense of this , and lately I realised that these are actually two different shows ON TWO DIFFERENT CHANNELS! I was totally getting confused between the two! (No saas bahus there, yet so much confusion and they look so similar! :D)

    It does not have the reach of SP, but the role is so much more catchy than the SNS cry baby. I have watched only oineepi, buit that was pretty good. I wouldn't say classic comedy, but pretty good.


    Sanaya and 4L: Nah! Firstly, I don't want another show from Gul any time now...I am loving QH and I don't want to share this love with another of Gul's babies. If she finishes this and starts a new one, I might be able to appreciate it better.

    Also, I get the feeling Gul will tire of love stories soon and move on to other serious issues...

    Sarada, you have not read Gul's heroines correctly if you consider them weak...I am talking about Khushi and Zoya...don't classify them as weak, just because they are forgiving. They are simply not vindictive, that is all. Sometimes acting mature looks like you are weak.

    This is the language Gul's heroines speak, and unless you speak that language or at least make an effort to understand it, you will keep calling them weak and SILLY.

    I find them the strongest of all. They triumph over the egotistic males that Gul throws at them. Gul is a feminist in this sense...she tackles the problem at its root...I call her heroes weak and self centered and her heroines valiant and just and godly and....finally they succeed in showing that poor, unsuspecting, self righteous male...that the woman was right all along!

    Only problem is when that happens, you say she murdered her hero...did not stick to his characterisation etc...I say,HE HAS SIMPLY EVOLVED INTO A HUMAN BEING.

      Very true, Su ... I completely agree with you when you say that Gul's heroines are not weak. They are sometimes silly ... but never weak. Both Khushi and Zoya ... I don't know much about Geet. And eventually they succeed in transforming the hero ... the hero, for wll his anti-hero flaws, is actually the weaker one, with his vulnerabilities ... we found Khushi and Arnav were both orphans in IPK, Khushi had dealt with her orphan status much better and with far less bitterness compared to Arnav, who allowed it to take over his entire life. (Of course, we never got the back story to either, not going into cause and effect ... but only basic characterization). And Khushi then reconciled Arnav to making his peace with his parents' memory and finally putting it behind him. Definitely by far the stronger character.

      Same seems to be the case with Asad and Zoya - both are fatherless, Zoya has never known her father, he left her mother before she was born (am I right?)- she doesn't seem to be bitter, merely curious and eager to find out. Asad has allowed his bitterness about his father to cloud his thinking and his judgement over many issues - his over-protectiveness about his mother and sister being part of that, although it is cloaked as being part of his traditional values. And I'm sure that it will be Zoya who will bring out the truth and allow Asad to reconcile with Rashid ... whatever the cause of Rashid's spinelessness.

      Murdering the hero - I call it that when Gul murders his shatir dimag ;) The guy is supposed to be a tycoon, meaning he should have some basic intelligence ... Gul ke heroes ka EQ is far higher than their IQ! I want a hero like Matthew Crawley!!!

      But I'm with both Su and Sarada ... I don't want another love story from Gul ... not for Sanaya ... not now ... not for a good long time. No point repeating the same genre, the same PH ... none AT ALL.

      I think Zee has most of the saas bahu sagas currently on air ... from the list Su named. And they are all indistinguishable from each other. So it's good that Sanaya has no offers yet from Zee ... though am thinking that's only a matter of time ;)

    So, Sanaya has an offer from Sony, thats really good, their shows are usually of urban genre, but i am not happy with one thing about that channel, their shows do no last for long period of time, most of them go off air very fast :(

    Seeing what SP did to Barun, i am wary of it, but i feel for Sanaya it is different. She has been with Star from before and she is treated very well by them.

    Given a choice between 4Lions and Nautanki, i will go with the second option. Btw, which is the PH of the sony walla show and that article says it might start in March, if Nautanki or 4Lions they might be more later i am guessing.

    One thing am sure is Sanaya's show will not be saas-bahu, so i will really not mind which channel as i get all :D and regarding PH, i too want her to work with another PH than 4Lions as of now. I think within the next two weeks we might get a proper info.

      Regarding Sony shows - it depends, Nan ... BALH and KTLK have both been on air for a long time and show no igns of going off air - BALH did well, it's dipped now ... but KTLK never did well, yet it was meant for a niche segment and has stayed on air despite quite awful TRP's. I used to follow its TRP's because it was competition to IPK :))) Most of the other shows recently have not done well at all ... Sony is really struggling now, it's way below SP, Zee and Colors, and Life OK is catching up very quickly with it. It really needs a hit show.

      I agree totally about Star and Sanaya ... Star respects Sanaya a lot - she has literally become their brand ambassador overseas - three foreign trips in less than six months is a pretty big deal, and the last one to the US, was a solo trip. Plus its mutual - you give respect and loyalty, you get respect back. And Sanaya has been there for all the extra programs of Star and other award shows, performances, Diwali etc ... despite having lion's share of screen space on her show. No complaints ever. I remember Rajan saying something of the sort during the first UK trip - he didn't know her that well then, it was during that trip that SP also realised the huge popularity of IPKKND overseas.

      Like I said, she is the first SP lead to be getting an offer back on SP within six months of her show going off air. That itself shows the position she holds with Star. But I am VERY glad that news of other channels wooing her is coming out - it will push Star to give her SP, and not send her to Life OK. She moved to SP for that reason only - because of its wider reach.

      My bet is that we will get news of her new show by mid-March. She should be back from her US trip by then ... by the way, Nadia Malik tweeted that she WAS overseas, so that is confirmed ... Also, I am very busy during second week of March, and it's been my experience that all these major things happen with Sanaya when I am busy! :D

      I agree what you say about BALH and KTLK Dia, but both are good PH, any news about which PH has offered her Sony TV show and yes Sony TV shows really down at this point of time, none of their shows seem to be working out.

      My first pref is SP too :D, lets hope for the best. So its confirmed Sanaya is overseas, guess she left after Abhaaji's son's wedding.

      Saw the list of male leads being short listed in Sanaya's new show thread, well i would like to see KT, but hes said in his new intv he will be taking a break so am not sure, but lets see, we might end up seeing some one new beside her altogether and like it too :)

    Don't know how far this news is true. Seems like Sanaya has signed on Optimystix show on Sony. It is the news from Tellychakkar and with Tellychakkar I am not 100% sure.

    Sanaya it seems said no to SP and Nautanki and is doing this show on Sony. Hmm doesn't seem to be true but we need to wait for confirmation.

    Well if this news is true chalo I am happy that Sanaya got stuck with a good PH. The PH Optimystix is good - I saw their earlier show - Saas Bina Sasural with Aishwarya Shakuja and Ravi Dubey as the leads. This show was on air for close to 2 yrs. The lead Aishwarya was sick - seems like she was suffering from some throat ailment and hence wanted to opt out from the show. So they winded up the show decently enough and the show went off-air. They manage their schedules well with the story line. Aishwarya was off for close to 2 months due to her sickness as well other characters(a brother in the serial got a movie offer and acted with Akshay during the shooting of this show) and the story was taken up with good twists and the PH managed their dates and scenes nicely. But they are known to produce light-hearted family dramas - so seems like Sanaya is doing an family sitcom then and most probably she will be on air by March end as this show was supposed to replace Hongey Judaa na hum.

      Yes, the PH is good, I also saw some episodes of SBS, as one of my friends used to like it a lot ... and whatever I saw was quite nice. The lead, Aishwarya had some major health issues, I think she had throat nodules and had to be operated ... they actually wound up the show because she couldn't continue. She was the central character in the show.

      The other interesting thing is that the same PH produced Dekh Bhai Dekh, which was the first good sitcom on Indian telly.

      Chalo, it's a good PH ... hopefully the show will be good. It won't inspire the same hysteria as IPK for sure ... but am sure Sanaya will be happy for that :)))

      Agree with you Dia. The PH is very good - handled the exit of the lead character with grace. Actually Aishwarya was the face of the show and Sony's new show Hongey Judaa which was supposed to replace SBS was not yet ready. It was a conscious decision of both the PH and the channel to wrap up with the leads as they knew the story was hit due to the leads and Ravi-Aishwarya chemistry was not as hit as Sarun but still the show was about them so the channel/Ph decided to take the show off-air. So the channel suggested to extend the drama for 1 more month as they didn't have anything to replace it with and so they got Rubina of choti bahu to do a cameo and in the last episode you had Tej-Toasty reunion. It was a known news that the show was closing due to Aishwarya's unavailability to shoot and the channel and the PH decided that there was no point in replacing the character with new actress or getting in a new character because the story would be gone and decently closed the show. I know I can't resist putting in here but when 4Lions and SP were throwing the blame game I actually was very impressed with the way Sony and Optimystrix dealt with this issue and this show was not even a huge hit and this is what I wrote in one of the many posts where I was defending barun as there have been precedents where the shows closed due to unavailability of lead actors but none ran a disclaimer like this.

      So when I heard that Sanaya is coming in with this PH, I am actually happy because as far as I have seen this PH has that humane touch and also Sony never has Mahaepisodes on weekends so the pressure would not be too huge on Sanaya. Hongey always had pathetic TRPs since it started but it is still on air close to 8 months whereas SP was ruthless and took off not one but 3 serials each last less than 6 months. For once I am happy on the choice of PH and the channel for Sanaya and hopefully this news is true. Sorry that you don't have Sony Dia. I think you can catch the shows online but I know watching on TV is different experience. Let's wait till the news is confirmed. Who knows maybe Sanaya will do this show along with hosting the India's Dancing superstars on SP because that show is also coming up it seems and Sanaya it seems was approached to host this season. So maybe she intentionally is choosing this show so that she can manage both.

      Seems like this news is true. IF also reported that Sanaya is coming in Modern Bahu on Sony which earlier was supposed to be Saas Bina Sasural season 2 but now it would be a complete new serial.

      I watch ONLY KBC on Sony :))) Or rather on my laptop :( Sony doesn't air in HK at all ... I am most unhappy!!!

      But many friends watch BALH ... and I even caught a few episodes of KHTV and liked it - once upon a time ... haven't watched it for ages. Is that also a Balaji show?

      But like we were discussing, Sony seems to cater more to urban audiences, but it has been slipping hugely recently - this is probably an attempt by them to shore up their GRP's. Unless, like we were also discussing, they don't really care - they want to keep Sony for the niche urban sector and that will never have very high TRP's. But they have the contract for airing the IIFA awards and a couple of other BW shows ... plus YRF did their shows on Sony. So exposure is quite good there ...

      I am trying to feel better about this ... I really wanted her back on Star Plus :(

    I am still wishing that SP take over the show ... itna to kar sakte hain!!! Otherwise I have to cajole Now TV to start airing Sony ... they just started Colors, why didn't they start Sony instead?! *head desk*
