Dia, is it true that the show is based off Khubsoorat - I love that movie - especially Rekha's role. I think I first saw the telugu version of it and loved it and afterwards came to know it was a remake of Hindi. I loved all the other characters in that movie - especially the over strict MIL. Would love to see the adaptation of this movie and if San is there - All the more better. SI was looking gorgeous and beautiful so I am very happy with the look the PH got her - That was the main one reason I wanted Nautanki PH because of their costumes and look but looks like Optimystrix is also doing good. And I say it again Thank god SI is doing something different and mainly is not doing a rona-dhona serial and is not stuck with some PH like 4Lions. Regarding the channel I am fine with Sony as I have SonyHD on my TV and hopefully Sony will take its time and promote this show well in advance so that SI will be back on screen with a bang.

ReplyDeleteYipppeee...Saas Bina Sasuraal was theirs...so was Dekh bhai Dekh...(That was so ancient!)...And they seem to be doing only comedy shows....Saas Bina sasuraal was good. And Sanaya would not make a wrong choice at this point her career. I think this will be a good show.
Don't worry, Dia. It is not slapstick comedy. I remember I loved Toasty as much as I loved Priya Ram Kapoor ...very well etched out character minus melodrama.
May be she will pull up their trps.

That is really something to look forward to.
I saw Saas bina sasural for quite some time till the portion where to elongate the story and give more space to the third bro, they brought in a 'vamp lady' who by tricks got married to the second brother on the day of their marriage leaving the real love behind. This track was the only aberration. The day the vamp left, i started seeing again. Even the second brother's love story was good and everything was on track.
And Toasty was fab. Her clothes were fab and so natural especially her relationship with her own parents. I loved her mom and her friends.
So thumbs up to SI for her choice. Now wait and watch.
Feel sorry for you dia, i really hope your cable provider gives you Sony one fine morning or rather the day Sanaya comes on tv. :-D

ReplyDeleteI saw a few episodes of Saas Bina Sasuraal - it was quite a nice show, light hearted, but no OTT comedy. And the FL was etched beautifully - it was another female oriented show. I also remember I liked the relationship between Toasty and her mother - it was very friendly and the mom was really sensible, while being a little whacky herself.

I don't understand why Nishi follows into every post that mentions either Barun or Sanaya on IPK forum. Earlier I thought maybe 4Lions are wooing her and that is why she is following the feedback for Sanaya on the forum. But now it is official that Sanaya is coming in Sony show. So when give the gyan - It is like ASR says -"Jaise mere bina(Barun/Sanaya) koi baat hi nahi banti hai 4Lions aur Nishi ki". I am seriously confused - who is more obsessed with BS/SI - Is it 4Lions or the mad cap fans. Or is it general kind of gyan - but then the new PH will take care of it won't it. They are in better shape as to what they should project out and what they should handle and as far as I have seen Optimystrix is a good PH who can handle these things in a much professional manner. Beats me.

I thought by the bashing she used to do for Barun during the Nov fiasco, she must be completely angry with Barun for ditching the show - but no, she is in every Barun post on IPK Main Forum and gives her vishesh tippani and the madcap fans lap it up. Somehow I am feeling after IPK ended, the 4Lions PH wale are not having too much work on their hands and so they are still able to answer PMs. Better if 4Lions concentrate on their own shows and stop talking as if they own Sanaya or Barun and that the PH did great favors on them. If Sanaya is getting wooed by so many channels and that too within 1 month of her show going off-air it is solely because of her talent and nothing else. I would go ballistic if 4Lions proclaim that Sanaya is what she is because of their show.

Supriya Pathak is a fantastic actress ... she emotes with her eyes. And such a pretty lady ... she was beautiful when she was young, typical dusky Indian beauty with beautiful eyes. Loved her in Wake Up Sid ... her scenes with Sid, especially when he goes back home ... they were beautiful!

DeleteWhile on Supriya....my first look of Supriya was in the movie Kalyug it was a fleeting role but i loved her dusky complexion and beautiful eyes...But i guess i loved her best in Bazaar....(dikayi diye yun bekhud kiya...watch that song and see her emote shyness with her eyes!!)and later on in Mirch Masala....i almost don't remember her other portrayals in movies but i do remember her in Sarkar and ofc Wake up Sid....she made a connect with television aud with i guess Kichdi (tho i was not following it)..i am glad she is going to be a strict MIL (i would not like to see Supriya as a bumbling MIL...) her sister ratna pathak Shah would have also made a good strict MIL...she is a powerhouse of talent...must be in the genes...
DeleteI remember the Pathak sisters, Ratna and Supriya and Ravi baswani in the original doordarshan serial idhar udhar where the two girls were staying with ravi baswani as a paying guest. And i think Supriya's boy friend was a character called shashank. That serial was so hilarious. I was in school and i think it came on sunday morning. And now come to think of it doordarshan and society was so progressive. Nobody even raised an eyebrow when they showed something like two girls sharing an apartment with a guy. The whole family came together to enjoy it. not even my grandmother raised an eyebrow. those were the days of one television per family and everybody had to watch what the other was watching.
Now my son pushes off to the computer saying, i will download something.....

But sooo agree with you, Sanaya is growing with every role ... and she's being really smart and careful with her choices ... doing a wide variety. After Khushi, there was really not much new for her to play in terms of emotions, Khushi had every shade possible ... so now she switches to modern girl ... this should be fun! It will be pretty close to the real Sanaya ... she will have a blast playing Chanchan! And we'll have a blast watching her.
She's already one of the top TV actresses today ... if this show succeeds, she will have a hat trick to her credit! A ten second promo already has over 20,000 hits in two days!

Queen of TV?! Really?! :))) I mean, I can understand her fans saying so ... but why is Nishi being so phangirly?
I don't understand why Nishi has to make posts on SI/BS and give gyaan on them - these actors have moved on and as far as I see not connected in any way to the PH in which Nishi works. Actually someone I think asked her in one of the threads as to why she is stalking BS/SI after IPK ended - kind of like why is she not in QH forum but lurking here. Madam I think got offended and hence she 'walked' out of the forum. For how long she is out, only time will tell.
DeletePlease I do hope Sanaya's show comes on 9PM slot. I don't have TV till 9PM - It was with great difficulty I used to watch IPK on the time it aired but now 8 - 9 is kids time. I can always record the show and watch it but I would like to watch on the time it airs so that at least the TRPs are up for this show. Let's see. Seems like Sanaya has already started shooting for the show - We should know the slot details and the leads very soon.

ReplyDeletethey are keeping it a secret.. and very clearly said that chanchan's husband has no major role in the story. maybe just a supporting actor.. i think it is because they dont want to create romance there,( only for everyone to compare it to IPK) and anyway the story starts with chanchan single.. so there is time to rope in a pretty actor.

YRKKH started with Hina Khan single and being refused offers ... Naitik was roped in a few weeks later. Seems like they might start Chanchan the same way ... build up her character first, and then bring in the ML. If Chhanchan is brought up by such a liberal dad, there has to be a reason why he marries her into a strict family.
i think as of now FL, her family, his family et all is fixed, am thinking like Dia said they might introduce the ML a little later so either they are still looking out for a suitable actor or they are really keeping it under wraps, nice way to build the suspense :D

DeleteI saw that clip you posted, Jaya ... I quite liked him. His look will have to be changed a lot, of course ... he's playing a school kid in that show, but apparently he's 25. I watched a clip of Barun from BHPH and a couple of his ads before IPK started, to check out the guy ... I wasn't very impressed with BHPH, but he was good in the ads. This guy impressed me more than Barun did back then. So hoping for the best. Am sure the PH would have been careful with the selection ... it will be an out and out Sanaya show, but the guy has to be reasonably good at least.
Agree 100% ... no SaRun for them. SaRun is only Sanaya Barun. Hamesha. *haayyeee*

DeleteBut this couple will be cute, rather than hot ... I think they should be a fun pair. Especially if they keep them like the movie ... there were lots of squabbles between Rekha and Rakesh Roshan trying to get the better of each other, if I remember right!
Actually in the original movie the role that Rakesh Roshan plays is kind of a person who is lallu - I mean in a good sense, Rekha plays him left and right and guy gets played. I think Varun would suit that role well enough. This wouldn't be out and out romantic serial but would be more of a family sitcom where the whole family has some role to do. It is good that Sanaya is coming in Sony because if she were to do another show on SP - I know for sure people would compare it to IPK and it is not fair. Both the shows belong to different genre. And I think the show would be majorly between Supriya and Sanaya and both are good actors so hoping to see them on screen.
