Lalit Mohan's interview on tellytadka has raised quite a few hackles ... apparently the guy was dumb enough to say straight out that Sanaya worked harder than Barun ... duh, man, you may feel so, even a lot of the audience could see it clearly, but you don't say it ... not done! And he continues on his I, me, myself journey ...

Apparently he got bashed so much that TT has removed the interview :) And hopefully that is the last postmortem that we will have on IPKKND from the IPK team - they seem to have a bigger IPK hangover than even the fans! Not surprising, though - a show like this happens once in a lifetime for any PH ... it's a real pity that they could not deliver it to its full potential - for reasons that we will NOT go into again!

I said we would get confirmed news of Sanaya's comeback when I was at my busiest ... I just mistook the dates, that's all! She chose the six hours that I was on a flight to announce her comeback with a bang ... promo of her new show on Sony.

Was still waffling about her choice and whether I liked it or not ... till I saw the promo ... this one blew me away even more than the IPKKND one had done. San is looking simply STUNNING!!!
My sunshine girl is back!!!!

Latest reports from the forum ... apparently the concept of the show is like Khubsoorat, the old Rekha movie. This movie has the rare distinction of being one that the whole family enjoyed tremendously ... even my dad ... an absolute rarity for him! I am SOOOO looking forward to this now!

Everyone who meets Barun in person says he's better looking in real life than on screen ... cannot understand how that can be, because the guy is pretty darn hot on screen itself!!! If only he would get rid of the fungus on his face!!! And again, everyone talks about how nice and down to earth he is in real life. Sweet!!!
Enjoyed the post ... hope they will update the video also. Also LOVED the snippets about Sanaya - she packed their gifts for both of them on the UK trip, and has 'her own method of packing' ... am guessing that will be a crazy one, just like her. And nice to know that he does miss IPKKND ... first time really that I got a sense of that ... so thanks, Team Sarun!
Wish they had managed to meet with Sanaya too ... actually, there's nothing much more she would have said that she hasn't already ... so it was nice to hear so many snippets from the other cast members as well.

I thought I wouldn't have any news of Sanaya to post for about a month as she was away on holiday ... happily it appears I was wrong.

Tellychakkar article says Nautanki telefilms, PH of Madhubala wants to make a love story, for either SP or Life OK, and are looking at Sanaya for the lead. It appears that she is in the only name in the running.
A number of other sites report the same news ... all apparently copied from the TC article. 

And of course Sanaya has to be out of town when this news comes, so we can't get confirmation for a while! What timing!
Chalo, at least we are getting news of her ... and our sunshine girl is very much in demand. And it seems that Star is making sure they retain her ... a lead role again, that too, so soon. That must be a first for Star.

Fortunately, the news is confirmed to be not just speculation, as Raj Baddhan has confirmed it in his tweets, and also said that she has not confirmed yet. So apparently the ball is in her court. Hope the show is for Star Plus, as that is what Raj Baddhan indicates, although TC mentions both channels.

So Sanaya is being courted by all the channels ... I still would prefer a love story on Star Plus, rather than a light- hearted drama on a Gujarati family. Besides, much more importantly ... I don't get Sony.

Another unknown site says that all these are rumors so far, and Sanaya is taking her time to pick up her new show ... methinks she is as confused as we are. Whatever the truth ... she is very much in demand, and hopefully SP will try their best to retain her. Even though I don't mind Sony, for her sake, I want her to stay on the top GEC. Still no confirmation yet, so I'm keeping fingers. toes and all possible body parts crossed.

SN - I DO mind Sony, I don't get that wretched channel. Can Star Plus please take over the show from Sony? I like the concept of the show, and I also think it's a good idea for Sanaya to pick something other than a love story this time. Comparisons will be bound to arise with IPK, since it was such a huge hit. So it's a better idea for her to do a light hearted drama instead. But I want  it on SP ... SP played dirty by pulling off IPK at a moment's notice, after she slogged her butt off for it ... they damn well better make it up to her.

TV This Week ... 18th - 22nd Feb

Veera ... Last week Veera recovered from the trauma of being locked in, the Panchayat was called by Nihal, and made to decide on banning corporal punishment in school, Veera was coaxed back to school again after her fright, and Ratan lost her right hand man who helped her work the fields. And Gurpreet remarked on how much Nihal resembled Sampooran. Chaiji's story emerged. This week it's time to celebrate Basant Panchami, while Ratan waits with slowly fading hope for Sampooran to return.

Qabool Hai ... Badi Bi confronting Raziya, Raziya getting the better of her, Asad and Zoya trying to track the shooters.

Madhubala ... RK throws Madhu out and everyone is wondering as to his motives.

Movies and Books

Movies:
Watched Special 26 over the CNY break ... good fun watch! About an hour into the movie, you know where it's gonna go ... but it's a fun ride. Manoj Bajpai as good as ever ... enjoyed Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar and Jimmy Shergill. It's being touted as one of Akshay's best performances by audiences as well as critics. so Akshay is happy. The romance track was completely useless and unnecessary, and the girl was pretty useless too.

Also watched Zero Dark Thirty ... the true story of the operation to kill Osama Bin Laden ... very interesting watch again ... although it was a long movie!

Books: 
Read the first of the Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer. Read a funny anecdote about the launch of the books - JA launched the books in India, as it's not only one of the biggest markets for his books, but also the place where they get pirated the fastest. Driving to his hotel in his car, he was stopped by a street urchin, who offered to sell him his own book, before it was officially launched, saying it was "the latest Jeffrey Archer". JA told him ... "kid, I AM the latest Jeffrey Archer!"

Also read my first Nicholas Sparks ... thanks for the recommendation, girls! Am looking for more now.

Read 2 States by Chetan Bhagat ... the guy is no great writer for sure.

TV This Week ... 11th - 15th Feb

Veera ... Veera found by Nihal. What I want to know is - will the teacher be suspended, or at least rebuked? Also, will Baldev's role in the cockroach drama be revealed? Spoilers indicate that Veera is deeply traumatized by this incident, and changes ... so looking forward to seeing how she changes. Loved the scene of Ratan in the gurudwara on Friday :) despite herself, praying for Veera.

This will ruffle quite a few feathers ... total respect for this girl, she says it like it is. Frank, brutally honest at parts ... the big similarity between Khushi and Sanaya - their positivity, and also their emotional nature. As always, a pleasure to hear her speak ... intelligent, articulate, confident, and with a definite mind of her own.
Am glad finally Gul also got around to acknowledging the hard work and dedication Sanaya put into Khushi, right from the language to everything else, and how she literally brought Khushi to endearing lovable life. Something which her new heroine is struggling to do!
Could have done without raking up the controversies on the ending ... more of Gul trying to clear her name? And whether Gul had or hadn't lost interest, it seems more and more clear that Barun had completely lost interest in the show. Although it seems Gul was definitely not involved much either ... as Sanaya mentions they hadn't met for ages before the farewell party.
She loved the team ... no negativity ... as compared to her previous shows. Sure know what she's talking about there! 
Am more interested in when Sanaya is coming back on screen ... she is confident of coming back soon, that's for sure, as she mentions she's getting offers ... but she wants to do something different from both Khushi and Gunjan. But since she is going off on her US holiday, we will have to wait at least another month or so. Hope this is her usual holiday before she comes back to start work again ... and we get news by March! *fingers and toes crossed*

*Edit* Hadn't been on forum32 till now, so I hadn't seen the writeup on Sanaya there as introduction for this part. Here it is ...

Thank you for admitting that you reduced Khushi to sheer idiocy ... San managed to carry that off as well (not without my wanting to tear my hair out)... but don't try it with other actresses, they might not! Or the audiences might not stay around to watch!
Although have to agree, IPKKND gave Sanaya the opportunity to play an entire range of emotions from laughter to tears, from childish to mature romance and passion ... she's done it all. Can do a series of posts on the many moods of Khushi, and there will be material for all possible moods.

Sanaya, Deepali, Pyumori, Utkarshaji, Shashi Gupta and Naniji attended Abha Parmar's son's wedding in Mumbai.Or rather, Sanaya attended the wedding, and the rest attended the reception. Sanaya was mobbed, and had to leave quickly.

TV This Week ... 4th - 8th Feb '13

Starting off with news of Sanaya ...
A new dance show on SP - Sanaya approached to host?
Telly chakkar article - Star Plus jumping on to the dance shows bandwagon, Karan Tacker, Sanaya, Karan Kundra and Kritika among the names being considered to host. Kritika is doing a show, is that ending? So is Karan T, but Behna has been under the scanner for ages, plus he's an experienced host. Hope if Sanaya does it, it's with Karan Tacker.

Veera ... the makers seem to have mastered the balance between sweet heartwarming kids' scenes which make you smile, and heart-wrenching ones of Ratan, Ranvi and even Kartar missing Sampooran. Veera 'writing' Ranvi's name, Ranvi always covers for his sister's tall stories, and then admonishes her, even Chaiji adores her ... like I said, Veera would be in danger of being thoroughly spoiled if not for Ratan's strictness. And Veera is a patakhi ... egging on Gunjan to taunt and torment her brother ... Ranvi is the seedha loving, caring older brother and son, and Veera is the bright spark, who will always get into scrapes and leave her poor brother to clean up after her!
The Nihal mystery continues ...
