Have been travelling, so making this post late. Am completely out of touch with what is happening in all the shows ... any updates?
Veera - saw Gurpreet of Veera as Mandodari of Mahadev ... when did this happen? Did she leave Veera?
NBT - read about Mohan dying in an accident and some humshakal appearing - I thought that was supposed to be for Season 3 - what is happening?
Qabool Hai - who is this new villain Vikram? Why do Gul's shows all have so much negativity and such little positivity? Saw the stars scene in QH ... sorry to say, couldn't hold a candle to the Arhi scene in IPK. Also saw KSG's Salman Khan dance ... hey bhagwan, seems Gul loves Salman Khan a lot - all her heroines love him and all her heroes land up acting like him. I use the term 'acting' loosely, as Salman has not yet learned to act in all these years! KSG is unimpressive in the episode I caught.
Madhubala - no clue where the story is going. Sultan is firmly established as villain and now it's the turn of his 'junoon' for Madhubala? What happened to Madhubala becoming an actress?
Anybody watching
Indian Idol Junior ... really enjoying the show these days, the kids are all excellent singers and the judges and celebrity guests are very sweet with them. Completely feel good entertainment!
Tried Pammi Pyarelal solely for Karan Goddwani - the toilet humor in the first episode put me off completely. Will try the new show coming on Zee about a kaamwali bai ... seems interesting. Also will try Jee Le Zara on Sony about a working girl falling in love with a younger guy, although I doubt that anything can beat Astitva in that genre.

Veera: Don't know if Gurpreet will be shown again. Kartar divorced her and tried to get married to Ratan but he got humiliated and beaten when his past deeds and his lust for Rattan came out in the open thanks to Gurpreet and Moti Chaiji. So for now Kartar is out but he ensured Ratan and Co have enough headache by informing Amrita's (Veera's real mother) parents about her fate and how her daughter is being raised by her dead lover's wife. Now the grand parents want to take Veera with them and the Panchyat seems to have acceded to their request. Will have to wait and see what happens next.
ReplyDeleteNBT: A huge let down. They simply wiped out the entire Vyas-Bhatnagar family after Mohan's fatal fall in the ravine and retained only Megha and Rhimjhim from the earlier cast. As you said they could have given a proper ending to the earlier story. Now no one knows whether Addu reformed or not. Instead we have Kunal playing a don who has a dominating mom and a defiant Megha who seems to be unwillingly drawn to this violent man. Maybe they want to build some story about these two before winding up so that they can start a fresh season once Big boss gets over. People who are watching this story would come back to see how it progresses. The new story seems OK as a fresh story but does not sit well within the backdrop of the earlier story.
Hi Opti,
DeleteI caught an epi of NBT and thought it was very good....it was the one where Megha goes to buy ice cream and the gangster Mohan confronts her...it was done nicely...the suspense and all(though there was no suspense- but that guy drinking coffee on the corridor and watching them, Seema Biswas scene -that was her, right?- etc.)...
This is a thought that came on strongly...I feel this guy is actually Mohan who has suffered amnesia from the fall...the real gangster must have had an accident at the same time, because the way his pendant got caught on her hair...and the invisible pull he has for her....I think he could be actually Mohan. Addu and Co. will come soon I guess- somehow I don't think they will leave a story incomplete like that...
Caught a bit of NBT again...the accent could mean that the gangster is not Mohan...or...who knows?
DeleteThey never found Mohan's body, right? Megha would not have wondered seeing the guy, otherwise...
What happened to Addu? Did they ever show him revealing his identity to Megha..or was he only known to Mohan?
Could it mean he went into shock after Mohan committed 'suicide' to save him from the guilt of murder?
Actually, I find this cast more interesting than the start of the second season.
There are no answers to your questions as of now but Kunal as Vasu is doing an excellent job and I continue to watch the show just for him. I would rate him as the best actor in telly world at present. His versatality is phenomenal. Yes, the cast is good. If one temporarily puts aside the uncertain ending to the earlier story, one can enjoy watching the new story. Lets see how this one gets integrated with the earlier story. The biggest strength of this PH from what I have seen of the two season is its story narration. You may or may not like the story but there is a certain amount of intrigue they build in which makes you want to watch it. At least that is how it has been for me.
DeleteOpti,
DeleteI am happy U like the show....because it looked more interesting than the second season...
During the Cricket Match, Mohan had left in between, declaring Megha as the Captain, with the promise to return. So, I feel he is alive.
Kunal as best actor...I would say one of the best actors...I agree he is good.I am totally in awe of KSG now.He is a complete actor for me- he excels in drama, romance, angst, dance, stunt...Even Vikrant is PRETTY GOOD.
I like KSG's acting and he is definitely better looking than Kunal but I still feel Kunal is more versatile than KSG. I like Vikrant too. He is very good in intense scenes.
DeleteQH:
ReplyDeleteVikram is a common thief who caught on to Humeira's story at the temple where she was searching for her (Rajani's) Husband...I don't think he will last long.
The stars scene: was nothing like the consummation scene ArHi had...because Asad is the opposite of ASR...he will not even put his feet on her bed- thats how reluctant he is about touching her....the intensity will not be there now.
When I saw the precap, I felt Gul should not have copied IPK, but the actual scene and context were totally different...and she followed it up with a moon scene where Asad caught the moon in the ring- pretty nice idea, actually.
Salman Khan dance: I guess we can only compare it with the towel dance.... I actually 'don't mind' Salman Khan, though he is not a great actor- purely for his nautankiness (used to hate the guy earlier..but I guess he is the Peter Pan of Bollywood. *wink*)...KSG looked awkward and funny...and Asad was indeed awkward and embarrassed when he was caught by his mom and sis...(I was dreading this dance- it turned out to be not as bad- for a casual viewer, I guess it looked nonsensical.)
Positivity: Nikhat ordered her would be- MIL out of her house and seems poised to break her engagement because her fiance refused to show spine...looked on approvingly by Ayan..it is a dream come true for him, I guess.
MB: There is one character who never fails to impress me, and that is Dipali...DD seems to have better expressions after JDJ..could also be because I watch her very sparingly.
Jodha Akbar: Not been able to follow regularly, but the shaadi looks interesting from promos.
SC: is really boring. The story itself is so boring.
Su, I told you they will make Sultan a villian and you did not believe me then. So you see who is the real Ravan of the show?
DeleteYes Opti,
DeleteYou told me...and I never said I don't believe you...*wink*. I gave you the example of EK shows..how a character will turn villainous to suit the script...and completely out of character.
Where is the guy who packed up to leave the town, the moment he realised Madhu was serious about RK?
And where is the sense of justice for his mother or even his concern for his son?
All the police has to do is, trace Madhu's calls...to prove he exists...or I guess Madhu could even ask for a dead body to prove Sultan is dead....I don't know what is happening in the show currently...not been watching anything other than QH this week....but I am pretty sure Sultan will be made to come around in the end...see the error of his ways...I even wonder if Madhu will reconcile the brothers...
Sultan has turned temporarily villainous...he cannot be a Ravan forever...not when he has a son and mother to take care of...I suppose.
Actually, I don't have a problem with Sultan being made into Ravan..what I find unpalatable is the way the mystery is being handled...The best of CBI had gone to assist Madhu and they made visible contact with her in full view of the market! And Sultan was about to touch Madhu, and no one saw him!
How far has the 'divorce RK' track come? What are they trying to prove with this? What is Sultan trying to gain out of this? Does he really think Madhu will be his if he uses force? *head desk* And will RK not know that Madhu has been forced to do this?
Sultan always had the seeds of negativism right through. A perceptive person would know it. The guy used his son as a bait to kill his enemies. What can you expect from him? It was clear right from the very first scene where he waited outside the chawl and made sure RK catches a glimpse of him before he drive away that he had an ulterior motive. The fact that he fell for Madhu only made his obsession to destroy RK all the more firm. Very early in the show when RK was getting the threatening calls, Sultan's name was mentioned as a possible suspect.
DeleteWell before the current track, the guy dreamt of Madhu in the place of worship where he envisioned snatching her dupatta even as she runs away from him. The dupatta is normally used as a symbol of honour. What more clue one wants about his disgusting thoughts?
His mask came off on the wedding night when he kept urging Madhu to remember her revenge, even though he himself was the one who asked her to forget it and come with him a minute ago. When he realised Madhu had no intentions to ditch RK but swore on her love for him, he seemed angry. After hearing RK's voice, he kept hanging around. His delaying tactics were to ensure RK sees him and the couple split up.
Yes, he was all set to leave the town because he knew it was futile to wait around and see Madhu happily married to RK but the minute he came to know there is some hope to drive a wedge in her married life he immediately pounced on the opportunity and brought Meera to reside in RK Mansion. What was he hoping to achieve in this? I find it hard to believe that it was for asserting his mom's rights over a house which is not even his. The said mom was mentally fragile and could not even stand to have Mohan Kundra's name mentioned. He himself is supposed to be a don, hiding from law and he chooses the superstar's house to make his mom's presence felt? There could only be one justification for his intrusion into RK Mansion and that is to be close to Madhu.
They have shown Sultan in such poor light there appears to be no redemption for him. The guy is doing nothing but obseesively track Madhu. He has absolutely no care for his son or mom. They were only props to get close to Madhu.
As to handling the so called mystery, dont even mention it. This is the crappiest and most illogical track of the show. MB always had this very bad habit of starting a track and not taking it to its logical conclusion. A don who was equally hunted by the police and his enemies and who was forced to hide in Madhu's chawl suddenly seems to have connections everywhere. The 'dead' man is freely walking all over the town, including gate crashing into SRK's party. Seems like no one has security anywhere. All the lawyers, judges and police seem to be in his pocket. As to the dead body, he even managed to barge into the morgue and parade himself as the 'dead body' long enough for Madhu to identify him and then happily get away from there! The prosecutor presents no autopsy report or murder weapon. All he does is dig up RK's and Madhu's ugly past to prove that RK 'killed' Sultan.
All the questions that you asked about this track is what we have been asking for the last three weeks but I guess we will have to wait some more time before we get the answers and i'm sure the answers will be as frivolous as the track.
It is high time they start the herione track or shut the show.
We agre for once! *wink*
DeleteNot been watching anything other than QH for a while...caught Mon epi of MB today.
My thoughts:
The divorce will come through...both in self sacrifice, probably...
Madhu, for RK's safety and RK,for Madhu's smooth life with no complications of a husband in jail...alternatively, RK would believe Madhu's sudden affection for Sultan??? Anything is possible, since they will take it to get what they want.
Sultan: I guess we both see what we want to see in him....for me, he is still a child wronged...and he will be redeemed. Simply because, he did stay back for his mother, and it was her issue that took him to RK...I don't think it was a ploy to get to Madhu- he was very sincere about it. Also, I think he hates RK more than he loves Madhu...because he has the life that rightfully belongs to him.
In that case, I guess it will be Madhu's kindness to his mother and child in the face of her hatred against him, that could lead to a change of heart.
I think the heroine track will come 2- 3 years from the start of the show..
No, the divorce is not coming through as there is a promo showing RK burning the divorce paper. I believe Sultan will harm Madhu in anger at her inability to get the divorce and then apologise for it. Tonight they are going to show Madhu slashing his cheek. So it is one gory mess.
DeleteSince you are a selective viewer of the show, you have not caught on to Sultan's slow but sure transformation into the lech he is. If he was really sincere about helping his mom should he not have first ensured she was mentally stable before getting her in touch with her past? By bringing her to live in RK mansion he proved his selfish intent. Why should RK take care of his mother? It was his father who had wronged her. So if anyone can give her the status of the wife of Mohan Kundra, it is the man himself but he is dead. How can RK give her the status of Mrs. Mohan Kundra? And what about her now? He has stashed her away in some place where she is kept out of the world. So where is the justice here? Going by his tracking Madhu 24/7, he isn't bothered about either his son or his mother.
And what is the life that RK has that rightfully belongs to him? The son of a coward who committed suicide because he could not face up to his bigamy and cheating? Whatever RK has acheived, he has done so with his own efforts. There was no godfather to lift him up in the industry. He lost his father when he was 12 years old and he never had a good relationship with his mom or his step father after that. The guy is selfish, pompous and arrogant but one can't deny that whatever he has achieved is not a benevolence of nature but his own hard work.
As to the heroine track starting after 2-3 years, I wonder whether the show will last that long. Already trps are dropping.
Opti,
DeleteI agree I must be missing quite a bit, as a selective viewer of the show...
Sultan is a man who has seen only the wrong side of life...because of RK's father- coward, spineless, whatever...- and he holds RK and his mother responsible for it. His mother was legally married to the guy..so he rightfully feels he should be the recipient of his legacy...I agree he is in a very ugly phase right now, because he sees only the injustice done to him and his mother...he was kept away from his mother, his mother was dumped in a mental asylum...all by RK's dad...he will take out his anger on the son. I still sympathise with him...and I feel he can be redeemed.
And he feels Madhu is being foolish, wasting her life with RK- the guy who humiliated her so much..he sees her love as an immature infatuation for a superstar, who is an arrogant fool. And he considers his love to be more pure and deserving...can't blame the guy for being so blind...we are all blind to our faults, especially when we see only the speck in our neighbor's eyes. Sultan might feel he is doing Madhu a favour by taking her away from RK BY FORCE....of course, a huge part of it is his selfishness too.
I guess he has hidden his mother and son somewhere safe.
But if U feel he is leching on Madhu...he must be...I guess I have just not seen those scenes...so I concentrate more on the positive traits I noticed along the way.
DeleteHowever much you try to defend Sultan's actions, I cannot agree with you. Granted that he got a raw deal out of life when his father ditched his mother and married Radha for money. I think there was more to the original story which was not fully explored because the cause for MK's suicide was never discussed. The driver also said that the two got into an argument when she informed him that she was pregnant, much of which he did not hear. Now there could be an issue about his paternity too because his mother never said that the child was MK's. She only said that she was married to him. She was more angry at his snatching the child from her (after which she lost her mental balance) rather than his ditching her because he was a public figure and she could have easily sort justice when she came to know he had committed bigamy (before the birth of the child and her subsequent insanity).
DeleteI thought that the court case will throw more light on MK's colourful past but there wasn't even a proper trial. think Zarina's son getting entangled in that suicide case led to her premature departure from the show (I don't know if they are planning to bring her back later but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't). This PH is notorious for disappearing characters without any explanations. Shamsher Mallik who was central in the track prior to the unwedding has been missing for months and no one even bothers about him. So is RK's step dad.
Coming back to Sultan, the guy is thoroughly ungrateful. Yes, he was seperated from his real mom for years but he did have the love and care of a foster mom for the first seven years of life. Instead of feeling grateful to that woman, he belittled her love in one of the episodes. Yes, he grew up in an environment which fostered crime but then did he try to show any signs of mending his ways, especially for the sake of his motherless handicapped son who had to lead a nomadic existence because of him? Now he has found his mom after many many years and the poor woman is mentally unstable. Should he not be spending more time with her rather than track Madhu 24/7, threatening and terrorising her? And why is his mother forced to lead a life of exile so soon after being made to come in public and proclaim herself to be the dead MK's wife? Does she not have the right to lead her life out in the world? She would have been better off at the asylum where she would have at least got medical help.
What is right about a man taking his vengence out at the son of the man he had been wronged by? Can RK justify attacking his son for what his father is doing him.
I don't think this guy can be redeemed because first of all he is a killer and a criminal. Second, he has not really changed. He is still indulging in his illegal activities before the start of this track. All his goody goody behaviour was to entice Madhu and his gold plating has sadly fallen.
RK may be an arogant fool but Madhu loves him. There is nothing Sultan or anyone can do anything about it. Forcing her to leave RK will not get her to him.
Opti,
DeleteI am not justifying Sultan's actions at all...just sympathising with him...because he is a blind fool.
RK will not take it out on Sultan's son, because after all, he is just a kid.
Sultan's mom: Did he send her in exile? Or has he found her a safe haven? Along with his son? They did show the mother bonding with Jr. Sultan..so it was supposed to be some meaty track, which got changed due to Zarina's exit...they killed it with over exposure of her dukh bhari kahani, which is what put me OFF the show totally...
Sultan lives a dangerous life, and he simply takes his son along with him, I suppose because he feels the kid is safe with him...rather than dumping him in some Boarding School...that Kaka was also very faithful to him...and Sultan had a murderous rage when RK threatened his son unknowingly...I think he is just a character that has fallen...will be resurrected to suit the script...there is scope...even of him reuniting Rk- Madhu at the end of this track or any other track...they could also kill him off, or leave his story unfinished...
Yes Sultan will never get Madhu...that is why I wondered what the Creatives were getting at with this track!
Sultan must be MK's kid only- that is why he felt threatened enough to take the child away...for some time, I even wondered if he switched the kids...if Sultan is Radha's kid...he wanted his first born to be his rightful heir..but that'd be possible if both women got pregnant at the same time...I think the pregnant wife was accusing him of going to get married...so that is not possible, too.
Su, what is pathetic about this PH is that it leaves all its track half baked. One enver knows why the characters behave the way they do. Seriously the show has been spirally down ever since the unwedding because after the way they built RK's character, his sudden volte face seemed difficult to justify. Even that can be accepted to some extent if they showed a strong Madhu in the aftermath of the unwedding.
DeleteI think the first month or so after the unwedding, till the arrival of Sultan, the track was progressing fine with Madhu giving to RK as good as she got and RK beginning to realise his major folly. With the advent of Sultan, RK's character was again made to swing like a yo-yo and Madhu was behaving uncharacteristically, leading Sultan on. A girl who had RK jailed for violating the law and trying to buy his freedom did not seem to have any quams rubbing shoulders and sheltering a known and dangerous gangster. A strong Pads who went to the extent of killing her husband for her daughter was made to plead with a gangster to kidnap her daughter. So effectively every character of the show was ruined to accomodate the gansgster which is why I detest him to the core. Even in this track they are showing a brainless RK to accomodate an extra shrewd villian who defies all logic, parading around the town and still remaining invisible to all but Madhu.
RK for all his flaws had a very shrewd brain, able to connect several dots at a time. Seeing him act so dumb is unbelievable. They showed a heartless RK through the unwedding and now they are showing a headless RK in this track. One wonder how long one has to suspend logic to watch the show. I am still watching it only for Viv and Drashti, mostly for Viv. The guy has improved by leaps and bounds and he is too cute with his boyish charm and his typical drawl during dialogue delivery. He makes RK's character attractive despite all his flaws. If he quits or if they take the extra marital or multiple marriage route I guess I'll quit the show too.
QH:
ReplyDelete8.08.13 was a brilliant episode with not even a single frame of Asad or Zoya.
AyRa:
Ayan's realisation. EXCELLENT! Do tell me, you are setting him up for the kill, Gul! That he is being taken through a waltz, to be ditched at the end...that Humeira will say Qubool Nahi Hai! (Gee..I think I wait for this more eagerly than AsYanikah- You may rightly call me BLOODY HEARTLESS!)
What a beautiful scene...Humeira asking Ayan to hug her...she wants to know the real thing..to know if the feelings she is having- what Humeira wants to suppress under the mask of Rajani -is really IT! Her subconscious nudges her towards the man she always lived for...the man who disappoints her over and over again, yet she can forgive him a million times!
She can feel the difference between the gentle love that Ayan exudes and the lecherous passion that Vikram displays. And today, unknown to Rajani, and even more unknown to Humeira...she broke a dam ..of a man's illusion of love...what he had been searching for, HAD ALWAYS BEEN THERE!
Nikhat and Shireen:
A proper mother to daughter talk!
Again, HATS OFF!
Shireen knows her daughter's heart, her pain...and she fights for her daughter...with her husband, with her self respect, with everything she has ever cared for...she wants justice for her daughter- a love rewarded, and not a discarded life, where she fears Nikhat will either get a mismatched husband, OR worse, END UP BEING A SECOND WIFE- a fate she could not avert in her case! Great characterisation...and Shireen is not convinced as to why she should not bend over breaking her back, TO GET HER DAUGHTER THE HAPPINESS SHE YEARNS FOR!
The two sisters:
Najma wonders..Why is it that she cannot reconnect with Imran, in spite of his broken engagement and her still alive feelings...and the next frame gives us the answer...One of Allah's beloved children- a soul who has been ridiculed and rejected- has kept her heart open in prayer..she seeks her first, and perhaps, only love...will Allah not listen? Like he listened to her Bhaijaan's tear filled request not many moons ago, at Ajmer?
And Najma redeems herself...she calls up Imran to convince him that she will not play with her sister's feelings...she will not violate that bond...even if it is a sibling she hardly knows or has cared for in the past..this must be Dilshad's prayers protecting Najma from losing herself in the pursuit of selfish passion.
BRILLIANT!
