Sanaya on JDJ to cheer Drashti ... this girl cannot keep quiet, and she is not in awe of any celebrity, not even Karan Johar!

Sanaya-Anuj performance in the Gold Awards - beautiful ... soft, lyrical, utterly romantic!

Sonali doesn't have much of a back story ... other than being willing to marry Manav if he was just married once, but she does object if he has another girlfriend tucked away as well ... did she and Thakkarbhai really swallow the part about Chhanchhan trapping him into marriage because of the Borisagar wealth? And isn't that what Thakkarbhai also wants - a wealthy husband for his daughter and a wealthy damaad for himself? So his motives and what he thinks are CC's, are the same! Very confusing!
What I liked ...
Dadi asking where Manav was and why he hadn't come to drop CC ...
Dadaji asking about CC's family, since she had gone so suddenly to her maayka ... that was a sweet touch. Also DDji now wants tea made by CC only ... cute!!!
CC and Manav missing each other ... so Manav did not go after CC after all ... and Kaumudi had to push him into going ... hmm, maa ka dikra is still winning over good husband ... more training needed.
Mukut-Kaumudi track continues to develop ...
CC has brains and uses them ... best part of the episode The parlour scene was ok, again I wondered at Sonali, she was ready to marry Manav even after hearing he was already married, but once she hears he is also a Casanova, she has doubts? So did she believe Umaben when she said that Manav was trapped into marriage by Chhanchhan?
I am glad those curls for CC were only for the scene ... and are not going to be permanent. Would advise CC to avoid that parlour henceforth!
The mandir scene was the best ... Thakkarbhai sounded and acted like a father of daughter finally, and also finally developed doubts about whether he wanted this match or not ...
And CC gets to know the full extent of UB's duplicity and cunning ... including the fact that she was in cahoots with Thakkarbhai to plan the engagement fiasco too ... so she has never ever accepted Chhanchhan from the beginning. Everything was a drama by Umaben, and she has been trying to break the Manav-Chhanchhan relationship from the start, almost from the moment she agreed to it.
Sanaya's expressions in that scene were perfect ... shock and horror and grief and heartbreak all together ... as the knowledge sinks in that everything Umaben has done has been one big lie.
Chhanchhan is really at a crossroads now ... save her marriage? save Manav's relationship with his mom? Also bring out to the entire family that Umaben has been deceiving not just her, but all of them ?
And with the Mukut-Kaumudi track opening up in paralel, it seems that the Mukut-Kaumudi marriage was also an example of the same thing ... Umaben enforcing her choice on Mukut, with the difference being that he gave in or was forced or deceived into giving in ... and Umaben got a docile bahu of her choice, but an unhappily married son and a silently suffering DIL. So her sons' happiness does not seem to have importance in her eyes, as compared to the importance of keeping the family intact ... or her own fiefdom intact. The problem is that the family is intact only superficially ... which is but natural. When the foundation is built on lies and deceit, it can never be strong.
Can't wait to see how Chhanchhan handles this ... will she tackle Umaben first? Will there be a confrontation of the two feisty women? Chhanchhan's methods have always been very direct ... she doesn't believe in doing things deceitfully, this was a first ... but can she be so direct here? Because it's not only a question of saving her marriage, telling the truth will mean destroying the foundation of the Borisagar family - their complete faith in Umaben and what they think is her devotion to the good of the family.

Dia, Glad to have you back! Guess the unpredictability is good. It keeps us hooked and wondering what the CVs are going to do next. My guess is that CC will walk back in the BS house. Hold on to the evidence and try and expose UB from within. If CVs stick to the characterization, she will tell Manav with perhaps a promise not to walk away but stand up and solve the family's issues.
ReplyDeleteAlso am thinking perhaps the rush in developing the Mukut Kaumudi track is to create a drama that will prevent Manav from leaving after knowing the extent of his mom's deceit.
Should be fun to watch.
Enkay,
DeleteYou may be right about the Mukut-Kaumudi track ... it also might be to convince Manav that Umaben is not always right in her decisions, and she has messed up Mukut and Kaumudi's lives by forcing their marriage, or to show him that she used underhand methods there to deceive Mukut into marrying Kaumudi. There was a scene where Manthan said that Mukut was not allowed to see Kaumudi's face before marriage. So opening up the Mukut-Kaumudi track is for a reason, I'm sure.
I think CC will go back to the BS house, but will she tell Manav anything? Or will she force a confrontation with Umaben? Now she has proof, and Umaben also knows that if Manav sees that, then he will walk out on her.
Am looking forward to this ... wonder how the cv's will take it. Just wish there was no TRP tension ... am trying not to think about it, will just sit back and enjoy what is coming.
Hello Dia,
ReplyDeleteThe story right now is at a pivotal point and the real battle starts on Monday. Chhanchhan and UB know each other's intent, Thakkhar Bhai' s reservations regarding Sonali-Manav wedding will definitely spur on UB. Sanaya was was awesome in the temple scene...what a heartbreak for Chhanchhan.
Keen to see how the dynamics change in Borisagar family with this new equation between Chhanchhan and UB. Want to see if Sarabhai family will be included.
BTW, where is Puch Puch?
Do you know there is one hour special of Chhanchhan on Monday? With the current pace, wonder how much they will cover on Monday itself.
The TRPs are worrying...but hoping they will get better...fingers crossed. Looking forward to Sanaya's double dhamal this weekend.
I wanted to write a weekend thought for quite a while...I saw the movie "Lootera" few weeks back and got me thinking how wonderful it would be to see Sanaya in a classic, period tale like that. I would love to see her in a show based on some classic. I remember during growing up years I saw some shows on Doordarshan which were based on Tagore novels, Nassiruddin Shah in Ghalib...with good production values, sets, writing etc. it would be a visual treat. Sanaya would look beautiful in the sarees, blouses, hairstyles...the depth and range she would get to emote would be so awesome to see...I am not talking about bad adaptations into modern times, but remain true to the novels...with a powerful screenplay an actor like Sanaya can be truly challenged.
Just a thought...TV needs better scripts and there are so many stories in our classics...Hindi, Urdu, English, Bengali novels and even down South...so hope we get good screenplay writers for these. Anyway, just a thought which I wanted to share.
Uma
Uma,
DeleteYes, the show is really poised at an interesting point. The gloves are off, both Chhanchhan and Umaben know that the other is on to them. How will they take things further now? Will CC tell Umaben that she has proof of her intentions? Not only the video, Simple is also witness to the conversation. Darn, I wish Simple had also done a second recording as backup! I hope CC makes a hundred copies of the recording before anything else! At least she can save her marriage and even more importantly, her self-respect in Manav's eyes, by showing him that she was right in what she said.
LOL ... I thought the same thing ... where is Puchpuch? CC didn't take him home with her?
Like I said to Enkay, I am trying (trying is the operative word here!) to not think too much about TRPs ... hope with the dhamaka next week, they improve. Can't imagine why the drop - the episodes were all fast-paced and interesting ... maybe TRP audiences really don't like a girl thinking too much and taking the drastic step of acting for herself ... they are too used to the weeping self-sacrificing bahus, who put up with all sorts of nonsense in the name of Bartiya nari. A girl with self-respect who stands up for herself is tough to swallow ... but this is the direction Indian society needs to go ... to understand that a girl can have self-respect and can stand up for her rights too.
I agree with you about Lootera - haven't seen the movie, but Sanaya dressed in simple sarees has that old world charm and grace ... I would love to see her in period romances and dramas based on novels. She would look awesome, and a good show with good production values and a good script and director could do wonders. NOT something like Saraswatichandra, which is such a hopeless mishmash of old and new that it doesn't make any sense ... but a really good sensible adaptation of a novel. A TV version of Parineeta or something like that ... We have so many wonderful stories in Indian literature, a good adaptation would be a beautiful watch - a proper period drama in the original time period and not a 'modern' adaptation!
