TV This Week - 10th - 16th Dec

Shows

Veera (will update tomorrow)
Monday 11th Dec - Ratan reads the letter ... hey bhagwan, get to the point! We're dying here to know why Amrita ran away from her wedding! Chalo, at least the story starts, how Sampooran met her.

SN - I really like the way they're doing the promos ... building up to the leap by showing Ranvi buying shoes, clothes, bangles for his Veera in bigger sizes. Very well done.

Qabool Hai

Madhubala

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai
Picking up slowly, while Pankhudi is still very blank, the rest are watchable. Although I wish Nanaji would stop shouting so much! I like the Adi-Harish-Dadi scenes, I like the actress playing Adi's Dadi, there is something very sweet about her. Have seen her in another show where she played typical evil saas who was outwardly all honey and sugar, but she always got away with it because of her sweet face.

Balika Vadhu ... since a few of us were watching the wedding episodes this week.

  1. Yippee... Dia.
You put up PKD too. I watched the ME on saturday- even if you don't watch another epi of this show, please watch the ME. This is how a ME should be. They built up an argument and showed beautifully how a problem gets worse and worse with each person adding thier view. WONDERFUL! I enjoyed every moment of the ME-(I think this is as exciting as it gets in PKD. LOL.)

Like I pointed out last week, PKD has the best husbands in Aadi and his dad. Aadi has stayed true to that...will have to see what Pankhudi's response will be as he gives her the ultimatum- 'come away with me or prepare to regret this moment for the rest of your life.'I am hoping Pankhudi has some sense.

The other BEAUTIFUL show I got to watch was BV. Really, if you can, watch the scene between Anandi and Jagiya as she prepares to leave for the wedding. WONDERFUL characterisation! LOVELY dialogues!

Really, HATS OFF TO the BV team. They nailed that scene. (Again, some of the few exciting moments in an otherwise monotonous show. But I will not complain about BV or PKD- at least they stick with their characterisation and are consistent).

MB: I don't have many nice words about what I saw. A very unpredictable 'KC in RK style' (*head desk* right after he insults her for making something special for him and says she has to PROVE her worth) and a very predictable chocolate scene...Drashti at least was better- she did not have much to do. I felt Vivian lost his intensity here and there- altogether, very average performance for me.

      Hmmm...Very predictable.

After Maahi and Rabba Vey, now what?....MITWAAAA..
I loved the song though I read mixed responses in IF.
The scene as such was a fight scene. I don't like it when they mix romance and fight scenes.Somehow takes away from the entertainment value....does not do justice to both. But by themselves the romance and the fight was good.

Remembered Mona. I was ROFL when the dialogue came actually. "Are you OK?" And the response: "Allah Miyaan, whats wrong with you? Do I look Okay?" ROFL bit was both, the dialogue and Gul following Mona's diktat. No 'tum theek ho's, instead a translation! What will Gul do in her next romantic expedition?

This was a good writeup of the scene, I felt.

And the cream on the cake! DC comes to QH! I hope they get interested enough to stay. Right now many of them are understandably unimpressed. I am not expecting a Sanaya or Barun here- so I am quite happy with the cast.

And I am not expecting the same magic as IPK either...

      Monday:
Epi was good. I liked everything except Ayaan's wooden stride as he walks out of the police station with bhaijaan. He needs to work hard. Loved how pretty Humeiraa looked. She was the only person other than KSG I liked when I watched QH first.

Oh, the precap: Any one wants to re- visit IPK- Khushi's nightmare of LG?
This one is a little different, I am actually looking forward to the comedy.(Not a good thing to do.)

      Watch parts 2, 3 and 4.
4 has a lovely song as Jagiya looks on when Anandi leaves for the wedding.
      Beautiful BG music all along.

    3. Hehe Su :D - yes they better stay away from TTH :D:D

Just have to have to say this - those things the women are wearing are not ghararas - an insult more like
Ghararas DO not have cholis (as with a lehnga) - they have qurtas that cover your ass - you def Do Not have your rumalis hanging in plain sight!!
And the gote (the part where the pleats start, is supposed to be just above the knee, not half way up the thigh!! - i cant stand people messing up traditional wear just to be different (as you may have noticed!!)

    4. hi everyone, was mia after an unexpected glitch in AD.. will take a few nore days to resolve... but had to say hi to all of you.. missed y'all soooo much!

today, had some time to watch tv.. and saw the BV wedding.. saw khushi's rewedding necklace(choker?) and arnav's rewedding sherwani.. in the middle of a beautiful wedding, i teared up, i miss my IPK! the end has happened, their costumes have been sold off.. :(

saw veera.. for the first time in a long time.. and ratan is reading the letter... such beautiful storytelling! saw MB.. i liked the dhak dhak scenes. RK is cute like a little boy when he smiles!(reminds me of someone else :S) and now there is romance, though it seems pointless..

saw DABH.. sooraj seems to have learned a thing or two from arnav about romance.. he is emoting more.. though sandhya remains hopeless. and the chulbul pandey track.. reminds me again why i dont watch that.

QH.. they are trying very hard to sell ayaan as a hero. not happening, mate! I loved that stunt scene.. reminded me of rab ne bana di jodi.. when the heroine was watching a movie with that exact step where boy lifts girl to kick the guys.. so was that intended to be comedy? guess so..mitwa song did not impress. for one, it is not hummable.. two, it totally distracts from the scene. ah well, maybe after hearing it 20 times,it will grow on me, who knows! waisey, the bg music is terrible in QH. takes away a lot from the storytelling.

i did not like zoya intentionally lying... not heroine worthy behaviour.

    5. Dia/Su,

Watched BV because the promos were coming on every break. So got interested and wanted to watch the wedding of the year. First of all let me start with the promos. Any good product needs promotions. The promos were very unique in that every family member came in and told the audience that the marriage rituals were starting from Dec 10 and to join in. Compare this to IPK where we didn't even know if the marriage is going to happen or not. Most of the people who saw the whole week's episode and the past opening up were very confident that the marriage would be called off and didn't even tune in for the actual marriage episode on Friday. Sigh. The promos really were awesome with Dadisa, Sumitra and Bhairo inviting the people for the wedding.

Now coming to the episode. It was out of the world, awesome and top class. Now this is what I call a theater veiwing experience on TV. The wedding was shot in such a grand manner. Kudos to the team in getting all the characters in for the wedding even for a shot or 2. The whole atmosphere was beautiful. Having visited Rajasthan over in the Oct holidays for my vacation, I was very happy to see the detailing the creative team did in terms of the costumes and the set decorations. The music and the flower arrangements were beautiful and the creative team got around some extras to make sure the wedding looked real. Anandi's and Shiv's costumes were beautiful, like how a real wedding would be. Sumitra, Bhairo, Dadisa and everyone else looked the part of the wedding family. Loved the way Jagya looks on when Anandi leaves for the marriage. The serial stayed true to the tagline even after 1000+ episodes - Ballika vadhu - kache umar ke pakke daghe. And the way Anandi was relating back to when Jagya's baraat came and she was asked to close her ears as otherwise she may become deaf. Now the same Anandi smiles on that incident and looks forward to her new life with Shiv by her side. Too good. The way the growth was compared, it was kind of closure for Anandi - from her marriage to Jagya and now looking forward to the new life with Shiv. Other PHs especially 4Lions need to know how to create a wedding atmosphere and I would be very surprised if Ballika vadhu doesn't top the charts when the TRPs come out. This is what attracts people to watch the show and tune in day in/day out. The audience too formed a bond with the character and now they are seeing her turn a new leaf in her life. I intend to watch the whole marriage episodes. This is what makes you forget your problems and enjoy TV for the 20 mins the serial comes on air.

Shiv's sherwani was too good. And Hotwa's sherwani was worn by Mohan. Good promotion for Na Bole season 2 which is going to start in Jan 2013. I actually liked the way BV took the whole engagement and wedding track ahead. The engagement happened in Sept beginning and now it is wedding and in between they had good romance build up and good scenes. That is how you extend the serial if you want the serial to last long not like IPK where everything was rushed off in 1 episode flat. I loved the way they got Gia for the engagement dance and now they are getting Mohan-Megha for the marriage. Shows how the channel and PH are roping in characters from their other shows and adding flavor to the show. Really all in all a wonderful watching experience.

Watched MB too as it comes right after. hmm found quite predictable. I am sorry some how Vivian-Dhrasti chemistry is not working for me. The sets and the grandeur sometimes are overpowering the narration in the show I feel. Will try to catch Veera but the timings are very odd for me. Wish the channel moves Veera to 8PM slot and moves Kaali to the 10:30PM slot.

    6. I will catch up with the BV wedding since all who have watched it, have liked it! Still not interested in either MB or QH ... am just not in the mood for love stories yet, I guess :)

    7. psarada,

Agree with you 101 pc on BV. Such a lovely show!

When I started watching BV, it was not interesting for me- I labelled it regressive and used to switch the channel. What brought me to BV was actually IPK. Once I was hooked on to IPK, i started reading up on the creatives and it was Nissar's interview where he had mentioned that he really respects and looks up to the BV director, that made me re-consider my decision.
You can actually say I started watching the show on Nissar Pervez's recommendation! Even then I was not a regular. What attracted me was Anandi's souten- the woman was absolutely a delight- I actually know people who are blind like her. She was totally blind to her faults, blamed everything on Anandi- and the end to their relationship was predictable and done well.

I am more attracted to the negative characters in the show. I like Jagiya now more than Shiv actually- I find more chemistry there.I have a hunch Shiv- Anandi will last for a year or so and then Anandi might come back to Jagiya (if they kill off Shiv). That'd be very predictable.

I will agree with you that 4 Lions need to emulate their idol in their work.
I'd also like to mention on ething- I have never laughed while watching BV. IPK and now QH are the only shows that can be actually called romantic comedies. I think the genre is totally different. Also they don't stick to rules always- even if they stick to a pattern, they experiment a lot. Here again,is the difference in the target audience- for an audience that appreciates art and drama- BV is the thing. For someone looking for a light hearted romance, IPK is IT so long as you don't expect too much of the drama- they have nailed the romance and the comedy- no other PH can do it like them- sigh...they could make it SO MUCH MORE BETTER with a little bit of planning of the story, utilising all the characters!

    8. J,
Missed you. Wondered if you were hit with the blues like me!

QH:Even I loved the stunt scene, the way he lifed her up and all- well directed stunt- plus KSG does stunts better than Barun.
Zoya lying- not heroine worthy behaviour, I found her very cute actually. She has wonderful expressions there (she is good in comedy)- especially that scene where she looks hither and thither and gives a monkey expression! LOL.Damn cute! I rewatched it a lot of times- something I have done only with IPK.

Heh heh...I have full faith in Gul that she will let her heroine behave exactly as she pleases. Zoya- she is a big fat liar! She believes in white lies more than she does in her AM!

    9. Su,

I myself like light breezy stuff when I am watching TV. I basically watch so that I can rewind. I am not sure how long I will watch BV because it is heavy on drama but I definitely want to watch the marriage. The reason is the episodes have been shot beautiful. So I basically am like I jump on BV bandwagon whenever there has been a momentous occasion like Anandi - Sangeet, Anandi-jagya divorce and so on and jump off when the track is done. But one thing I give credit for is the way the creatives have taken this serial ahead. They had clear cut planning of what to do for the next phase of the serial. Every 100 episodes the tracks have changed and focused on some or other aspect of Anandi-Jagya life. Kudos to them on that. You definitely need to have a clear vision to get a product to sustain like that and more than that they are doing a good service by educating the people against the evils of the child marriage. I am all for that. I do wish the serial goes forward but I really don't want Shiv to be killed and Anandi and Jagya to unite back. That would be utter regressive IMO. Jagya is a done deal in Anandi's life and she has now decided to move forward with Shiv by her side. The moment the saas-bahu drama takes precedence in this show I am off the BV bandwagon.

I am not watching QH - not in mood for any 4Lions product. As I said earlier 4Lions have an edge in that they are good at creating romantic serials. Even though their concepts are good, their planning is utter and colossal failure and I don't want to be taken for ride again and again. Had it from them for Geet and IPK. The moment some other PH delivers M&B with better planning and good cast, 4Lions will lose the only edge they have. I am rooting for 24 on Colors. Used to love the terrorism theme on US network and with Anurag as the director I am hoping for some good serial with top-notch action sequences. Somebody please get a ER based drama on Indian Telly. That was and is my absolute favorite. The way they used to get medical cases and deal with it and then have a M&B story going on in the background made absolute wonderful treat to watch.

    10. J,

Hope the glitch in AD clears up soon....all the best...

as for shows...not watching anything other than news and sports channels...thats how it used to be pretty much for me before ipk...with snatches of Sasural genda phool..the ony thing that i could have watched unti the kids grew up in the serial was veera but it airs too late for my liking
mere bak bak pe break lag gaya......hehehe...but yes have read all comments avidly....i am now fully updated
      on serials without watching

      where's Shwethu's MB update?

If SLB can avoid the tendency to become lost in his own creation we can see some magic......cinematically his best was Khamoshi and HDDCS....after that the grandiose sets/props take over the story telling....he should wait to let the story telling move along with the props....but i do expect there to be good music in his serial...he is a maker who understands music well....

      Sarada,
on Saraswati chandra, it may be more of an adaptation....on it being a regressive theme.....well as afar as love stories go...there is that issue with all love tales....there is some amount of dogmatism that one will see in the treatment of the theme...becos love tales have always relied on pain, angst, the lure of the forbidden, spirit of sacrifice, traditional ways to spruce up a love tale...its up to the vision of the story teller if he can make love story a contemporary one, where both voices can be heard equally without the other feeling suppressed.

    11. Rekha,

If SLB does take SC as an adaptation then he need to show it appropriate for today's generation. IMO the last few reels of that film completely put me off if I were to watch it now. something on the lines of "we have to live by the society and it is not something that one can give up". I don't quite remember it but Nutan utters it with full saddened voice and it was quite heavy dialogue. As I said earlier the film was my absolute favorite due to the songs in them but now that I am mother of 2 beautiful girls, I can't relate to that concept. I wouldn't want my daughter to be in loveless life and suffocate. And in the end if something bad were to happen to her married life god forbid, I would still want her to pick up her pieces and go on in life. I do hope SLB gives out good message and not stick to the theme of the book. And I agree with you - as far as I have seen SLB's work Black, Hum dil de and Khamoshi were top class. Rest all movies he allows grand sets and cinematography to overtake the narration of the movie, like Devdas.

    12. Yes..Sarada...ofc stories have to move with time..they will lose significance otherwise if they are set in today's times and show a milieu that we fail to connect with...frankly my gripe with most shows has been the abject surrender by the women to make their points...which i why i stay off preachy serials...in romance the pretense is far lesser becos it has a shelf life and the honeymoon period is decent, if the guy has been bad, he is also supposed to get his comeuppance..(well, whether he does or not is a diff matter)
I don't care to watch a love story after marriage becos i am not sure that equation can be handled with creativity without lapsing into the stereotypes....

In our serials women can do whatever they want within traditional confines, they can't cross boundaries,if they do they have be supermoms, make everyone happy and if they can't they have to be guilty...

On sc,the nutan song u are referring to is perhaps the "chod de saari duniya kisike liye, yeh munasib nahin aadmi ke liye, pyar se bhi zaroori kahin kaam hain" the funny irony is wat she was saying then is actually the way people think today LOL only the message is all wrong...hehehe

      Delete
    13. Yes Rekha, it was 'chod de saari duniya kisike liye'. I cried and cried when I first saw this movie. I was around 14 or something and at that time you have 'love is pure and divine and once in a lifetime' and all that notions in your head. As I have grown wiser, I feel that it is always good to speak out your mind especially in matters of marriage and love. That is the reason if I were to see this movie now, I would completely be put off with the heroine Kumud, Nutan's awesome portrayal not withstanding. SLB is such a good director but I always wonder why he takes up classics only Devdas and SC. Why can't he come up with new stories. And SLB is known to be perfectionist. No idea how he will adapt to the rigorous schedule of the Tellydom.

    14. Let's wait and see whether Sanaya does this show at all, and whether it is based on the classic novel or on the link Su posted about three middle class Gujarati sisters :)))

I haven't seen the movie, but I do remember the songs. From Sarada's synopsis, am not very keen if the show is going to be based on that. But I also wonder how SLB will manage a tv show with the deadlines, as he's known to be quite a perfectionist. Has he done anything on TV earlier? As a director, it will be great for Sanaya to work with him, but just hope the show is good if she does. I personally think SP would put her in a show more designed to appeal to the international audience, as that is the audience they want to retain and tap further into.

Anyway, mantra is wait and watch :)))

In the meanwhile, am watching the BV wedding and in the middle of admiring the costumes, sets and jewelry, and the emotions on display, also find myself going 'hurry up a bit, please!' But the show is good ... no wonder it has managed to retain its position for so long. Well designed, very well directed, well acted - it has some very good actors ... and each character is well-defined and given his/her space. And the emotions shown are all very natural ... although the excessive jewelry still throws me off a bit every time :)))

    16. Rekha, soul sis ... I said something very similar to your comment in the previous post ...
"If SLB can avoid the tendency to become lost in his own creation we can see some magic......cinematically his best was Khamoshi and HDDCS....after that the grandiose sets/props take over the story telling." My feelings exactly about Devdas and Saawariya - the story telling got lost in the pomp and grandiosity of sets and costumes, and he lost touch with the emotions that come across with simple story-telling.

But I really wonder how he will adapt to TV as a medium. I will give his show a try just to see how he deals with it.

Was reading an old interview of SRK in Filmfare - did anyone know Aziz Mirza was a tv director before he moved to films? Of course that was in the days before daily soaps - he directed SRK in one of his TV shows. Wonder how he would manage in today's world of daily schedules and crazy deadlines.

Interesting interview - here's the link for those interested. SRK comes across as cocky and humble at the same time - quite a feat. And manages to contradict himself within the span of a single interview :)))

    17. SRK: LOL. He showed a lot of promise when he started out- loved him from Fauji days. He had the courage to experiment a lot those days. But sadly, none of his recent performances have been note worthy. Yes, he is a super star, at the cost of being an actor. Any movie of his I watch, I can see only SRK. Even Salman Khan, who was my least fav among the 3 Khans does more justice to his characters. (Aamir, ofc, the best of the Khans. BTW, I heard Talash is not great. Any one here who watched it? I was not impressed with the story.)

On Pavitra Rishta- what is so great about it? It is one serial I have not watched at all. But I remember Vidya Balan announcing in one of the award functions- jo cheez mein mujhe mazaa aata hai woh sirf raat ko aati hai- ofc, everyone thought she was talking as her character Silk- but then she said Pavitra Rishtaa....it was a joke!I gathered it is an EK serial, but really, she liked it better than BALH from the same producer?

    18. I saw SRK on stage in a play years and years ago, when he was with Barry John in Delhi. He was not the lead but he had a big role, slightly comic. I remember coming out of the theater with my friends and we were all talking about him - we didn't even know his name at the time. He had that spark from the start. Very good stage presence - and he retained that on screen. When he started off on screen, he was the first person to do negative or grey shades - his Baazigar and Darr came before DDLJ. And Anjaam was not even grey, it was purely negative. So I don't think it's fair to say he doesn't experiment - he still does.
His last few experiments have not worked, that's all. Especially Ra One. And he's become very stereotyped in his expressions and mannerisms.

The last movies of his which I really liked were Swades and Chak De - again two very different roles. Romantic movies - after Kajol, Madhuri and Juhi, he has never gotten a really good romantic heroine to work with.

Sorry, Su, I cannot stand Salman Khan. He doesn't act, he makes faces. And his dialogue delivery is terrible.

I tried PR when I got Zee installed ... gave up within two episodes. Where did I read ... Vidya Balan's uncle (or some relation) is big shot in Zee. So disappointing ... so even she is not without a godfather? Only for Tv though ... movies she's done on her own.

    19. Dia,

Actually I have not watched any of the recent Salman Khan movies. I think the only movie of his which I really liked is Hum Dil De Chuke. Agree with you actually, he does not act. Just makes monkey faces...(LOL. When MPK came out, I thought he looked like a monkey too and thought my bro was pulling my leg when he said he was the latest national heartthrob!)

On SRK, that is exactly my point. He used to experiment a lot. HIs last movies I liked too were Swades and Chak De and I actually wonder if Karan Johar made him stereotyped with his movies. I expected wonderful things from SRK, so I am disappointed. Actually he needs more movies like Chak De than these romantic superhero type movies...I'd love him in that.

He should really experiment like Aamir.
Hey, I like all three, though each one has an attitude!. I stared liking Salman quite recently as he is doing a good job hosting BB.

    20. I used to be an SRK fan ... actually, SRK-Kajol and SRK-Juhi, in that order. I liked his acting in Swades and Chak De. I like the guy also for his offscreen persona - he is very witty and articulate, so I enjoy watching him on stage or in interviews. Besides, I've met him in real life and he was very sweet :)

I like Aamir's acting, but I am not his fan. Why, I don't know. I liked him best in Sarfarosh. He does good films, I loved 3 Idiots and TZP, but more for the story and the kid respectively than for Aamir alone. I think his offscreen link-ups and his divorce put me off the man.

Salman's offscreen antics put me off completely, though I have to admit, with Aishwarya he was a gentleman as far as the press was concerned. Kept quiet and didn't say a word about her. The only movie I liked him in was HDDCS, and to some extent KKHH. I continually wonder at his female fan following ... he is such a monkey, how can girls like him! Then I look at some of the actors my daughter likes, and I keep shut! ;)

  2. I started watching Pyar Ka Dard Hai recently and when I told my mom that Harish char is cute my mom said he is childish.. she told me about his annoying ways of playing music loud when Avantika on phone (I did not watch those initial episodes). Adi is lovabale.. mom dear agrees. Pankuhri lil boring. Only time she showed some teeth when she push back Rubul about Adi's gift. Mukesh Khanna annoys. I love Sheela's accessories and she is a beauty. Her dialogs.. though not as colorful as Manorama mami's dialogs, are fun. I like Avantika too.. much better than Pankhuri. This is a Rajshri serial.. so, it has a overdose of sweetness.

I do analyse.. Avantika char similar to ASR. Looked that way.. I feel these writers are sexist.

  5. And I see J in the house - BBE shiddat to that AD glitch becoming gaayab soon. Maybe it is just a bloooper in AD too. Huggs!!!

    Rest,
Sun night I had some unexpected TV time and caught the last 1/2 epis of Veera from last week and all the Veera grwoing up promos. Loved the way the promos highlighted a grown up Veera with a different touch and can I say my current fav actor on TV is this kiddo Ranvi. I mean how much sweeter can a Veer get. Aww!!!

I have not watched anything intentionally otherwise. I saw bits of the BV wedding epis mid last week and thot the wedding was beautifully detailed. What a traditional zamindaar khaandaan wedding should feel like. MB well saw the one scene where RK comes and gives paani - felt flat to me.

  6. Veera - Amrita's story was same old, same old ... I can't tell my parents about my deadly disease because it will hurt them. Yeah right, and the news of your death from that deadly disease will come as tidings of unalloyed joy, of course. I can NEVER understand this logic, and it's been used ad nauseum in films, tv, the works!

Oh, well, now that Sampooran has been forgiven by his wife for committing infidelity but all along imagining her, Ratan as Amrita, can we get back to the kids please?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh! What deadly disease was it?
THe way they showed the promo 2 weeks back about the villagers telling Veer that the baby has to be quarantined or something, plus the jhalak i caught of a badly made up Amrita making up some story about a doctor... I thought she had HIV or something...
Did Sampooran take pity on a girl who had a deadly disease and spent a night with her just to make her feel better? And Ratna forgives him for that? I would have thought it better if he actually had some feelings for the girl and did the deed rather than have a stupid one- night stand. So he dropped her back at her parents and never followed up on a girl he slept with- who had a deadly disease? Pity and concern ended with one night stand? WT?

    2. I have certainly missed something here in the story- there is some other explanation to it, I hope.

      Delete
    3. They didn't specify the disease, but yesterday was even more *head desk* Ratan cries because she misjudged her husband and didn't understand that he was saying sorry ... actually, I'm not quite sure why she suddenly changed her mind about him. Because he imagined her while making love to another woman? And made love to Amrita out of pity? Hey bhagwan!

And did Sampooran spend the night with a girl who had a deadly disease, and then leave her to her fate and walk away the next day?! Didn't even take her to a doctor or something? How exactly was that helpful in any way?

Oh well, the kids are still cute ... that baby is simply adorable!!! I'm going to miss her when Veera grows up. And the kids' game was cute ... evil kid has reformed now, so all is well ... he even makes Veera laugh, so CUTE!!!

So now Ratan wants to keep the baby ... but Ranvi will look after her, because he is the anokhi maa.

I still like Chaiji the best :)

BTW, someone mentioned they loved how Ranvi calls Chaiji 'Moti Chaiji'. I also love the way she calls him 'Chote Chand' :)))

  7. Pyar Ka Dard ... I got mad for a bit ... they're using the payals? Don't they know payals are sacred for Arnav Khushi?!
Then ... okay, Adi doesn't even know it's Pankhuri's payal, chalo, maaf kiya for copying. Or trying to copy :)

And another copycat scene - Adi eating Pankhudi ke haath ka bana khana after making all bahanas and nautanki ... and then licking his fingers. Cute.

I have noticed this about the show: even when they copy, it may not be epic like IPK, at least it is decent- does not leave a bad taste like DABH or Behna or MB.

So this means Pankhudi left with Aadi- Good girl!

Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, toh nahi

I have no grouse against a life without you
But a life without you is hardly a life

Kaash aisa ho tere Kadmo se,
Chun ke manzil chale aur kahi door kahi
Tum agar saath ho, manzilo ki kami toh nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, toh nahi

Wish we could tread our journey with your steps
Pick our destinations afresh and walk someplace else, far far away
When you walk along with me
There’s no dearth of places to be
And though I have no grouse against a life without you…

Jee mein aata hai, tere daaman mein,
Sar chupake ham rote rahe, rote rahe
Teri bhi aankho mein, aansuo ki nami toh nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, toh nahi

All I wish to do is seek refuge in your aanchal
    And keep crying; keep crying
Aren’t those tears too that I detect in the moistness of your eyes -
A life without your is hardly any life

Tum jo keh do toh aaj ki raat,
Chaand doobega nahi, raat ko rok lo
Raat ki baat hai, aur zindagi baaki toh nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, toh nahi

If you say so the moon will not set tonight
Say it – Stop this night
It’s just the matter of the night, there inst much left in life without your
I have no grouse against a life without you
But a life without you is hardly any life.

    - an all time favorite on everyone's list, I bet!

Tere bina zindagi...zindagi toh nahi: This is the name of the play Rashid invites Dilshad to, and she goes, thinking it is Zoya who sent her the ticket.

I googled to see if there is an actual play by the name- this song is the only thing that turns up in the search.

So, this is what Rashid is tying to tell Dilshad, it is the only apology he can offer, he knows there is no excuse for his actions:

"I have no grouse against a life without you
But a life without you is hardly a life".

    2. Which is what a lot of erring patis in telly wood seem to be wanting nowadays.

      1. PV: Prashaant has turned negative (again!)- he wants Aarti back.

      2. BV: Jagiya has turned from black to white. He has let her go, wishing her all the joys he could not give her...This is why I feel after a year or so, they might make him accept a widowed Anandi along with Shiv's child...They cannot let go of Jagiya's family which is the whole original cast- Anandi will be still bound to the original cast.

      3. KHTV: I know Mona's hubby repented, don't know what phase they are in now. I don't expect him to turn negative again.

      Moral of the story:

In tellywood a happily ever after is possible after many twists and turns and 'woh's, but the pati has to be white at the end of it- if he stays negative, he will not get the gal.

    3. Su, I think time has come for Ballika Vadhu to bid adieu. The story has progressed from childhood to marriage and now if they just keep it on air and play ping-pong with Anandi with Shiv and Jagya - IMO the essence of this show is lost. Jagya is a done deal in Anandi's life and if the creatives don't have any story further than this apart from killing Shiv, my sincere wish is that they close the serial with Anandi moving on.

I agree with you with PKDH doing a decent copy of IPK classic scenes. Whenever behna, MB or DABH copy the classic IPK scenes like Behna did the telepathy scene and MB did the almost kiss scene - I am seriously put off. PKDH is okay but I have long given up on the lead actress and now have made peace with her 0.5 expressions.

      Delete
    4. Yes, psarada.
It is time to close down the show.
But I don't think they are planning to do that. I am guessing they want to show Anandi adjusting to Shiv's family, especially his sister.

I don't hear anything about the show shutting down soon. I am thinking of the future story in case they want the show to keep airing...then they'd have to include Jagiya's house hold in the drama...the whole story has been about his family with her in it, right? All those characters cannot be thrown out suddenly to concentrate on Shiv's house, I suppose.

Jagiya- Anandi is not a dream or any thing for me- I simply feel there is more chemistry there. Plus,I guess I have a soft corner for reformed heroes- heh heh...that's just me!

      Delete
    5. Su, it is not only you but many on BV forum who are expecting Anandi to come back to Jagya after Shiv's death. So IMO it would be better if the channel thinks and tries to take this serial off air when the TRPs and essence is still correct. Or maybe the creatives can show Jagya also moving on and we can have 2 parallel stories in the serial. But that would mean huge cast and I agree Jagya's family needs to be somehow included in the show. Let's see what they show next.

      Delete
    6. Su,
WHATTAY Song!!! Evergreen ... and uff, Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen ... two absolutely brilliant actors!!!

Sarada, ROFL at your 0.5 expressions of the PKDH heroine!

I was wondering why Su came up with that idea of Anandi returning to Jagya because I hadn't seen the wedding episodes. Now I realise what you meant ... yes, you may be right. Haven't watched it for long enough to have any opinion on it ... so as a completely disinterested and unbiased observer, if they wanted to prolong the story, and keep Anandi's family in the picture, this is very possible. Shiv's family is all accepting of Anandi, all except the sister, so not much trouble there either.
Doubt they'll wind up any time soon though ... they've been slot leaders for forever, and now that IPKKND is gone, even that competition is gone. Nothing else is remotely close.

      Delete
    7. Anandi is the most boring character in the show for me. Actually Shiv is the best for her that way. He is equally boring.

Now Jagiya...has gone through all the shades of grey- I genuinely like the character a lot. The wedding yesterday was boring- and a hopeless attempt at humour.

I think I'll watch the show if it is about Kagiuya's journey now. I am not excatly rooting for them to get back. I'd love to see how Jagiya earns his place back in his family and the village. I wouldn't even mind if he gets back with the other female...however I think her role has been terminated and the actress has left the show. So, I wouldn't even mind if Anandi is instrumental in getting a bride for Jagiya, with them keeping a respectable distance from each other.

The way they did the sequence...with Jagiya wishing her all the best from the bottom of his heart- and totally accepting that Shiv is a better person than him- I'd really like them to show such a person do well in life- with or without Anandi. If she has moved on, I wish they'd show him moving on too..in the long run. With the characer growth he has achieved he deserves it.

    8. sarada, whats with you and the doom and gloom? there is nothing else to show, the original cast is gonna be sidelined, better shut down the show? yaar they will come up with more plots, how do you think they reached 1000 episodes? agree that shiv was as wooden as pankudi in the beginning, but now, i have started seeing actual sparks between them.. it was brought out slow and steady.. i liked the progression. and i love that i dont have to watch each and every episode to get whats happening.. they do a kinda recap thing inside each episode.. no wonder nissar admires that director. have to keep track of a thousand actors.. and he does it well.

there are ppl who enjoy that show, and they seem to show very interesting preachy scenes, there are thousands of scenarios that can happen.. it is not actually limited to major plot twists, the can take the story forward with storylines about at least seven characters.. and add new characters as often as they like!

      Delete
    9. Jaya,

I like BV - have not watched it religiously but have been on the bandwagon on/off. I am okay with them getting new plots but the only request I have is that they keep the story moving forward and not play ping pong between Anandi - Jagya - Shiv. Most of the people on the forum are predicting a ping pong of Anandi between Jagya and Shiv and that IMO will kill the essence of the show which really was so beautiful up till this point. And it is a challenge for the PH to come with story line while keeping the original cast too in the picture. And needless to say it is going to be a big balancing act of the PH between the various characters. If they pull it good then it would be a lesson for the other PHs(especially 4Lions) on how to use all the characters of the show and not burden only the leads. Looking forward to the next phase of the show. And I think BV will be topping the TRPs when it comes out, so the serial most probably would be on air for some more time.

      Delete
    10. Actually, when I watch BV these days, it's more for the glamour and the color of the Big Fat Indian Wedding, not really for the characters. I haven't been watching the show regularly at all, so I can't relate to any of them, and I don't see any sparks between Anandi and Shiv. I did like Jagya's emoting though, as he watches the bridal party drive off, leaving him alone. But then, I like pathos ;)

What I liked best in the wedding were Megha and Mohan because I followed Na bole Tum for quite some time.I really liked Megha - she was looking so pretty. I found her very blank looking in Na Bole Tum, because she played this sad widow ... I missed their wedding and the following episodes ... so I liked her a lot here. She was looking lovely, and she has beautiful eyes.

Sarada, if they run a show for so long, they have to get new plots and new characters ... goes without saying. By reforming Jagya, they have definitely put into place a track of his role in Anandi adjusting to her new life ... it's pretty realistic, if you look at divorces in real life. So far, BV has handled many real life issues, like child marriage, divorce, adult education etc ... this would be another real issue. Very rarely is life so beautifully laid out and compartmentalized that you can forget your past completely and move forward ... and here for Anandi, Jagya's family is more like her own maika than her sasural, plus she has spent a lot of time with Jagya. But again, divorce is final, and she owes it to Shiv and her new family to give them all her love and attention. She HAS TO move ahead.

There would be a lot of conflict of emotions here ... it would be a good watch. I wish it was in a show where I could better connect to the characters though! But the way they have handled the show and the emotions so far, I think they will take it forward well.

    MB:

I actually want to do sooooooooo much bak bak on MB, Scene by scene, but philhaal:

    1. DIPS ROCKS!!!! She is looking gorgeous every single day, has the best wardobe in the show.

    2. Her scenes with RK simply rock and yesterday she was brilliant.

    3. Bhaiyyaji continues to improve especially in romantic ones, has gotten a haircut, looks slightly lean, still sticking with bhaiyyaji not dudewa yet.

    4. DD needs to bhagao the geet atma from her and start watching her initial MB scenes, she was good there, now it is a bit confusing to me who am I watching MB or GEET.

    5. They recreated the almost kiss scene - I admit I liked it, yes you can't beat the original. Still it had its magic partly because of the bg song which was baahon kay darmiyaan and also because RK and MB did good, maybe the fiancee was not around?

I am liking the show, don't watch it daily just their scenes whenever I get time:)

Have no clue about other shows and am enjoying the discussion here.

As for sanaya doing the bhansali show, I think it would be better if they went with viraaf than the original guy, I have seen the original guy, he is good but I am really really looking forward to sanaya-viraaf.

Some tidbits of news - recycled hi sahi ...
Apart from the SLB show coming up on SP, there are two other shows in the pipeline. One by Cinevistas, which was supposed to have Vatsal somebody and Chavi somebody as leads, I heard Chavi had also walked out. Vatsal would look too young for Sanaya, I feel.
Another one by Sudhir and Seema (Mittal?) the producers of MJHT and Na Bole Tum is also in the pipeline for Star Plus. Don't know anything about story or cast.
So SP could slot Sanaya into any one of these shows.

sanaya and viraf... i 'heard' that he is a big flirt, so not very keen on the pair. of course, i have a feeling they will burn up the screen, coming together like the eye candy they are.

    5. Dia, the cinevistas show is Daag, I think but that is slotted for 11PM. Seems to be on bold subject. Kaali will move to 6:30PM timeslot once SLB's show comes on air. I have no idea another show is also in pipeline for SP. So the axe has to fall on either Saathiya, Behna or YRK. Somehow seems like Behna will be the next show to go if this one comes up. And anyway we have about 3-4 months before the show gets finalized and ready to air so I am thinking the new shows will start after IPL. Only Daag, SLB's show will go on air in Feb. Rest all new shows will be post IPL.

Sarada, can you find the link of that Daag article? I tried but I couldn't find it.
I also feel Behna will go ... there have been no new promos for ages, they keep playing the very first one again and again. They'll keep these three on air till the replacements are ready. And Kaali will shift. So four new slots, of which three are prime time (counting from 8 pm).

    8. The Cinevistas show is based on Khoon Bhari Maang ... which in turn is based on the Australian TV series Return to Eden.

Whoever does the show, should be an interesting watch. If they really want to do it well, they should make it a limited episodes show. The way the story goes, it can easily be taken a year and a half to two years, and they can add in a happy love story in the second half.

SN - I watched a couple of episodes of the original Return to Eden many years ago when I was visiting my uncle in Jakarta. It was riveting.
Hope Cinevistas does this one better than Behna. But Vatsal as the wicked husband? Can't be.

  13. MB update of 13.12

Everyone is worried that bhaiyyaji has disappeared and then bhaiyya decides to call bittooji and tells him that he got busy with a story session, he is at some farmhouse, will be there for few days and asks MB to join him there.

SN- Story session and Bittuji does not know? Few days ka stay and MB goes without packing her stuff - guessing she knows RK will buy things for her, chalo is department may atleast RK is better than Kanjoos ASR who never got any stuff for her post marriage, yahan par toh hate marriage kay baawjood Bhaiyya got MB a nice wardrobe.

Mallik - Aiyyo bad acting by mallik and trishna going yada yada.....and kabhi good kabhi bad acting paddo too joins and Trishna is mad that everyone is too obsessed with MB. Now my question is does Trishna have a crush on RK?

So trishna lashes out that they are not seeing her pov and storms off, paddu tries stopping trish and mallik says ussay jaanay dijiye (the part that got edited out - Let her go, she will come back, where else will she go, itnay paisay nahin hain uskay paas,he he)

An awkward moment between paddu and mallik when he touches her shoulder...I mean it was awkward watching, yaar the mallik guy is usually very good , sangat ka asar hai:(

bhaiyya breaks the candle thingy thinking of DIPS words, Did I mention Dips rocks, kya voice modulation hai wah wah.

And so our madhu comes with rajesh the driver in car and surprise surprise car breaks down, annual service bhool gaye kya and wah wah, very Isshmart, madhu is carrying an emergency light too, impressed!!!

now driverji says bhabhi you wait I will go and find a mechanic.

Now MB is scared of dark, dhat teray ki, do the makers realize they are sending such a wrong message* vitamin A is harmful for your romantic life*

so gushhhttttttttttt of wind makes an appearance for RK and he goes madhu.

MB who is standing scared and senses someone approaching and realizes it is RK.

Romance ki Dhajjiyan udaanaywala dialogue FROM ME:

RK - Tumhay kaisay pata ki main hoon.
MB - You have noisy shoes (and you told bittuji that I should join you here, duhhhhhhhhh)

MB - Tumhay kaisay pata main yahan hoon.
RK - Your perfume is too stong (and I asked bittuji to inform you about my whereabouts so you can join me)

Okay okay basically both said, bas pata chal gaya..they just knew.

and aur dhajjiyaan udaanaywala decoding hai, but I actually liked what followed next.

He is happy she turned up, feels guilty for not coming for lunch at her mom's place and is unsure about her feelings for him.

She is relieved to see him, just being around him, but mad also that he called in so late worrying her to death.

    awwwwwwwww..

ae le lo, bitwa goes to check the car, don't tell me he can fix cars, hmmmmmmmm..

    continued.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I need answers she says, he ignores her and continues meddling with the car.

fireworks begin....asli wala as a wedding is happening nearby.

RK goes who is this guy who is marrying on such a toofani evening and bringing another toofan into his life, lol........Bhaiyyaji rocks such scenes I tell you.

AND THEN in true hero style either burns or cuts his finger don't know what and MB goes into nurse mode.

It is a cut, it is a cut...I mean hand may cut same way ASR had after GH incident, so farmhouse/guesthouse may ek hi tarah ki chot lagti hai, lesson learnt.

AND tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, MB phaadofies her dupatta, duhhhhhhh, car may first aid box nahin hai kya, hey bhagwan!!!

bg music plays, it has grown on me and galat FB yahan par and RK storms off into a well decorated patio, or is it the same place as ASR'S first sorry place naah dont think so.

she is shocked at his abrupt behavious and goes after him concernedly and he is his sarcastic self here.

and then some heavy duty dialogues, some heavy duty bg music, not bad but could have been loads bette with RK summarizing their current situation pretty well.

he tells her she is as demented as he is and yet he loves her like mad....we could have done without the fireworks here.

Sheehs, Fire this director and get Arshad pleej and MB watches stunned and dialogues continue proving that the screenplay writers and the dialogue writer have watched ek tha tiger on how many girls are aftr him and he has fallen for her.

and as they both stare at each other quietly with mini FBs ana loud BG music playing....not bad, could have been better.

precap: they have moved back to the farmhouse and she tells him to say it again and he says ILU in 3 different tones.

Almost kiss part 2, last time they were interrupted by radio, this time bittuji/radha enquiring if madhu has reached?

ya another FB and he pulls back or for a change, they go ahead with the trick kiss on lips?

the show needs the magic of hitesh, arshad and hrishikesh gandhi, it can be so much better.

    6. why was he chopping woods? to make up for his lack of time in gym, bhaiyyaji is developing a paunch and they need to address that ASAP especially if he looks like he is going to burst out any moment from some of the stuff he wears.

Also it seems his hobby was pottery, but it is not easy to show as gardening so bitwa dropped pottery and current hobby is biwi.

I think it was this monday's episode the whole baahon kay darmiyan or was it last friday dunno Yesterday was the only episode I watched full online. will look around for the links

    7. Oh and RK is not kanjoos, teases and laughs with Madhu, shaatir dimaag makes an appearance most of the times and there is no Di to manipulate him....he pretty much does his own thng most of the times.

Did I mention Bhaiyyaji is not kanjoos and gets MB good wardrobe and gets fairly regular haircuts....just making sure*lol*

      Delete
    8. 'Did I mention Bhaiyyaji is not kanjoos and gets MB good wardrobe and gets fairly regular haircuts.'

Yes, Shwethu, I believe you did mention it ... just in passing ... a few times *ROFL*

He also has a pretty decent wardrobe himself. I noticed that too. Grrr ...

Have to say, while watching the MB scenes, I did compare DD unfavourably to Sanaya ... felt Sanaya would have gotten that extra spark and mischief into her eyes, which DD surprisingly did not manage. Especially in the Dadi Amma song :)

And I liked the way he didn't let Madhu face his mom's questions alone ... he answered his mom and made sure Madhu went up with him. Am liking his characterization.
Noticed again that GH is the screenplay writer ... so is this what ASR could have been? Shit. :(

    9. Weakness in a character is not be misunderstood as weakness in characterisation...imo, they are two diff things..

In my opnion...making Arnav blind to Khushi's travails and highlighting his extreme love for Di was intentional...it was meant to be a weakness in his personality...he was meant to be weak about it...and the subsequent change in him was the high point of conflict (which again never happened for var reasons) so, for me he was meant to be like that and there was this change in him after meeting and falling irrevocably in love)

However where characterisation failed was when the writers refused to give him a brain after a considerable period of time (to justify Shyam's acts) when they had themselves indicated that he was a "shatir dimag" Characterisation also failed when it wss made to look that all of Khushi's travails were all in the day's game for Arnav (the lack of any real RTR except the face saving one liner from Arnav at GH)

I can't compare his characterisation with RK becos I have not seen MB enuf to comment on it. If u guys are convinced that RK can love as easily and deeply as he seems to be doing now (after all his snark),I guess the characterisation must be gud...if it doesn't seem odd to u all.

      Delete
    10. Actually at the moment, I haven't seen enough of RK and MB to really comment on the characterization, Rekha. But there is a lot of similarity in scene set ups etc, which invites comparison. Like the way RK organized watchdogs to keep an eye on the Bhatia family and report their every movement because he knows they're up to no good ... while ASR did nothing of the sort with Shyam. Like the way RK doesn't leave Madhu to answer his family's questions, while Arnav did. In that sense, Arnav is an even darker character than RK, because he never really stood up to his family and told them the truth about how he married Khushi, while everyone in RK's family knows that RK forced Madhu. And by skipping that part of Arnav's redemption, they left it incomplete. The only time Arnav used his shatir dimaag was to prove Sheetal's lies ... but never for Shyam. Both times. And Shyam was the main villain. That was a huge flaw in Arnav's characterization.

What I did feel about RK-Madhu is that their love story seemed to be going really fast ... but I had skipped all the in-between bits which Opti filled in. So that was a gap in characterization ... but since I'm not attached to the characters here, it doesn't really bother me so much. That's why watching this is good time pass :) Especially with BG's commentary!

    1. Read the interview. I think the 4Lions PH should schedule their shoots and serials in a much better way. I felt bad that they shot 72 shots of Barun in 6-7 hours and that too on his last day. No wonder on last day Barun was like 'The feeling that I am leaving has not still sunk in'. And also that for the consummation scene Lalit was given only 1 hour when he asked for 8 hours it seems. On the other serials,I think they always have a bank and so the actors and the team give complete justice to the serial.Usually BV has a bank of 1+ weeks of episodes.

4Lions seriously need to get their act up and that too fast. I see that 4Lions is now lagging in their new serial QH. Whenever I try to flip through the channel they have the same promo of Asad telling Zoya to leave the house playing. Not sure if the scene was done or still yet to come but I think if a serial is new, you need to have new promos coming in every now and then. Veera has new promos coming in every 3-4 days and that is how audience who didn't watch the show get hooked on it. Not sure how they are handling QH. I only see Nishi the PH girl writing posts in the forum and trying to get people on for the show. But the forum itself looks very dull.

I am looking forward for the next part of this interview. Let's see what he says of Barun quitting. I doubt he is going to say anything different than what 4Lions had done so far(placing the blame squarely on Barun for the show closure) as he is still working for that PH, but I really want to know whose idea it is to separate Arnav - Khushi and who decided that Khushi will move on after Arnav's death. I wish the reporter asks why didn't the creatives and the team gone for a leap thereby not killing the ArShi love story but having enough juice to last much more time. And also what was the need to hurry up with 3 - 4 tracks shown at one time - Remarriage, Shyam's entry, Anjali's miscarriage, Dadi-Garima past all were opened up at the same time. Had they taken time and opened each and every track with enough justice and time, the serial would still be running and would not feel like everything went in jet speed.

      Delete
    2. Give it a rest, sarada, agreed they could have managed their time and cast better, but they had their own compulsions and pressures. And one of the reasons for hurrying up all the tracks could have been the knowledge that Barun was leaving by November - they had the choice of winding up Arhi completely with a happy ending with the same actor and then moving to a new actor and a new love story, or using a new actor as ASR. They obviously chose the first option. Rightly or wrongly, cannot say. But that could be one explanation of why all the tracks were so rushed. If they had gone with the second option of replacing the actor, the serial might have still been running. But again, that's only one of their compulsions, we don't know the rest.

And they all knew Barun was leaving ... that I know from a pretty reliable source. For much longer than we did, is my guess.

    3. Sigh...Dia.
Everything fell in to lace for me at the beginning of this week. I had the same thought you have expressed here and when it hit me, I felt like bashing Barun...that si why I did not mention it in R&R. That is precisely why they wound up the BFTP..ther was no point in going into the past of a character that was not going to be ther in a few weeks' time. Any way,I have made my peace with every one...just until IPK blues hit me on monday as usual!
Barun, YOu better come out with at least three good movies in the next 2 years.

    4. Su,
Yep, pretty much the same for me ... you recall I always asked, which came first, chicken or egg ... with confirmation that Barun wanted to leave in Feb, and was asked to stay on, things kind of fell into place. So he presumably agreed for six months only, not for a full year, Payal Akash were eased out, Deepali put in her papers earlier than Akshay but was asked to stay on till they could send them off together ... BFTP was wrapped up ... the entire Arhi story was wound up. They were basically going to start afresh, this time centered on Khushi. There is no truth in the rumors that Sanaya wanted to leave too. She always knew Barun's plans, so did the rest of the cast.

Reading between the lines from what my source said, Barun is not sure about his plans ... his wife wasn't happy with his TV hours, he's keen on movies, but his wife wants to go back to Australia. So his plans are all over the place. Don't hold your breath for him.

And LM et al are upset about the show closing and are determined to come back soon. And they all know Sanaya carried the show on her shoulders, especially the last few months. So yet another option for Sanaya? If she does get the SLB show, then Barun's leaving would be a good thing for her ... about time she got payback.

      Delete
    5. Dia, Why does it feel like everyone from PH and channel want to wash off their hands and their flaws on only one point - Barun wanted to leave in Feb. Maybe he did want to leave in Feb. But he was held back - maybe the channel or maybe the SPA or maybe the PH got a sweeter deal in the form of Arjun for the same channel. Don't you think they could have handled the hate marriage better before Barun went off in May. Only till the Holi episodes the hate marriage had some substance and some logical flow. After that it was Khushi's 101 ways to tease husband, Swami drama, Sundari - Saitaan and GH track. Rather they could have jumped to Gupta track and got the revelation done before Barun went off for break. The reason they gave at that time was IPL was on air and things won't pan out. Surprise no one said Barun is on only for 6 more months.
      How and why come.

And more over if your lead is only for 6 more months after May they you close off your loops and get the story on a high point before you let him go. The remarriage could have been introduced without the Dadi, Shyam drama. Couldn't they have introduced the remarriage because Arnav felt Khushi was denied a dream marriage due to him. Could have taken 1 episode only and no need of Dadi drama for about 2-3 weeks. Similarly the BFTP could have been handled from the remarriage till Oct end if they so wanted. Rather they got Sheetal in place for 3+ weeks. And if you actually watch the episodes of Remarriage, you see the blooper that Khushi has her mangalsutra on when Arnav holds her dupatta when she turns towards Garima. The shooting was changed at the last moment. Whose idea and whose pressure - that is still in open air.

And leave all that 2 months is more than enough to get all the open loops closed if the PH/Channel were very sure that Barun is not coming back. There was no need of SP to sign Barun on contract when he was not going to be on the show for much longer. So somehow this particular dialogue of everyone from PH saying - "Barun was on the show for 6 months only and we already knew it and we sacrificed a lot to keep him on the show even at the point of closing down our money giving show' doesn't go well with me. No one closes show just because one guy was not going to be there. Sushant moved out - Ekta got in a leap - Result serial still on air. Anandi moving out on - Should see how BV will fare from now on given that Anandi was the face of BV for more than 500+ episodes. Bottom line - the PH didn't plan the show properly after they got their initial success at SPA and went arrogant to the point they butchered their own story beyond repair and the last chance they had to redeem it was in the last 2 months when they could have closed the show on a high note for Arnav-Khushi and gone for a leap for Sanaya as their daughter. If they so wanted the show to be on air and that is a big if. The show was it seems up for extension in Dec and given that SLB's show was going to be delayed as he wants to shot in a grand set, SP were keen on having the show till March end. Even Mishti said in the beginning itself that Barun would be on with the show till Feb end/March beginning. So now suddenly the bandwagon of Barun not being sure is just being played because they are sweeping everything off the rug and moving on just how the PH did for Geet. At that time they had ready made excuse - Channel revamping. This time the excuse turned out to be a jalebi and now they are harping on the single point that Barun wanted to quit in Feb and we sacrificed.

    6. Contd from previous post

This reminds me of the drama in my office where my manager is doing a 4Lions on us. I got so pissed off at him and repeated the dialogue of Mona(I think) in the meeting 'Exit is as important as Entry' and please plan accordingly. These things happen in real life. Everyone does mistakes and everyone looks for scapegoats. I am sure I and the remaining team mates are going to be the ready scapegoats in case our project fails in Jan end - no point of our giving pointers to the management that the ship is full of holes and about to sink given it a matter of time. Like wise Barun's one quote of 'I wanted to leave in Feb itself' is the reason he is being made scapegoat by everyone.

And LM it seems is directing Arjun till it ends - no idea when it is going to end. And if Sanaya is not coming on in SLB's show then the chances of hearing about Sanaya's new show is getting less as the new shows are going to start only after the IPL ends which would be end May. Anyway the TRPs being out next week will give a clearer picture and I doubt SP will sit idle if they are dethroned at the No.1 GEC ranking. They may very well get another M&B genre show and remove the old ones which are just there for the sake of being there.

      Delete
    7. Sarada, that is the whole problem, isn't it ... that Barun has very conveniently been made the scapegoat for everything ... because the show never went off air during all those rubbish tracks, nor were there any demands for it to be taken off air at that time. If those demands had surfaced during the bad tracks, that end the show because you're not showing things properly, then the PH would have had to answer why. But those demands to end the show only came when news came of Barun leaving ... the calls were all about retain Barun or end the show with Arhi. It was never - improve the story or end the show. Ergo, easiest thing to do ... blame it all on him. It always happens ... in the biggest corporates to the smallest. Why do you think I kept saying not to end the show? If it had gone on till TRP's came back, then PH would have been blamed. Now it's all Barun. If Viraf had come in, romanced Khushi, the shouts would have been - how dare you spoil the Arhi story, end the show. Result - PH at fault.

Besides, there was NO exit planned ... not till four days before the show ended. Not for the show. Only for ASR. And the easiest way to do that is with an accident. So they gave a half-baked happy ending to Arhi, because if Arhi had separated at that time, and then taken the next two months to get back together, then Arnav had died, then fans would have been upset all over again, that we could have had two months of a happy marriage, why didn't the cv's give us that.

Of course, they could have easily given us a honeymoon and a better Khushi grooming track ... but who the hell is going to remember that now? All everyone is going to remember is that the tracks were rushed because Barun was leaving.

And face it, even for creatives, not knowing if your male lead is going to stay or leave, is rather detrimental to any ability to write any good tracks. Till the end, SP was trying to retain him, he had agreed to stay on in Feb, they must have been hoping he would agree for another few months .. but then again, that tied their hands what to write.

Sanaya's news will come in Jan or Feb ... my guess is Jan. Fingers crossed and BIG SHIDDAT to that!!! She has been dedicated and worked hard all through ... she has carried the show on her shoulders, and everyone recognizes that, and also that the closure of the show was most unfair on her.

LM and all are upset at the ending of the show and are determined to come back soon - this news is from a TV journalist friend, who has given me correct news in the past. But whether Sanaya comes back with them or SP slots her into another show remains to be seen. They put Pratigya into Gumrah almost immediately, Sanaya is an SP employee like her. they won't keep her idle for too long, not when she's earning a fat salary from them and they know she is popular.

Also SP can't produce another M&B show out of the blue. The PHs which have done these kind of shows are 4lions and Cinevistas ... and Seema and Sudhir Mittal to some extent. SP has let 4lions off the hook for IPK by putting all the blame on Barun this time, but 4lions won't get away with it again. Cinevistas - already has that Khoon Bhari Maang show coming. S&S apparently also have a show lined up. So let's see ... too early to say right now.

      Delete
    8. Dia, The one thing that didn't pan out for 4Lions this time around was that the audience of this show were intelligent to know through the blame game. Actually there were couple of articles in 'The Hindu' and TOI saying that the show was on air only because of ArHi and audience liked the show only for Barun-Sanaya chemistry or else the tracks of the show have gone downhill for a long time. So people do know that the show has gone downhill much before this whole hungama has happened.

I thought only us on internet were aware of the different things happening with the show. But I feel that the audience of this show has read the PH and the actors as good as we all did. Like my circle of people who watch this show were all like 'PH and channel are hiding behind the actor but in the reality, the show ran only on Barun - Sanaya only'. My friends mother who was ardent Barun fan, kind of more than we ever did was surprisingly very happy the show went off air. I for one thought she would be unhappy and blame Barun for the untimely death of the show given that she was rigorously watching it. But she was like 'Thank god they stopped the show before it went to becoming more stupid like other serials'. So all of them who ever were watching the show I don't think hold Barun responsible for the show's closure. And when I told her the story was supposed to be Arnav dying and Khushi going on, she was like 'for the first time I am thanking the star plus channel for closing the show'. I think that is the reason that the channel pulled off the show because they knew they would go into a bigger shithole if the story continued. And the repeat of the fans were to end the ArHi story on a high note. They could have done it with a leap. So now even SP and PH are caught on wrong foot by the regular audience of this show and they are just saving their faces.

In future,if 4Lions does this again, then they can kiss their brand a good bye. All the media houses know the eason the show went off-air. And mostly I won't be surprised if Zee keeps the show QH on tight rope. And I am seeing that the PH is again running into the same problems with QH(no promos and quality goes off/on)

I am not a big fan of Cinevistas given than they made a complete ping pong of marriage and Riddhima in DMG. Not sure if they will succeed in this genre given that the bar has been raised considerably higher with Barun-Sanaya's acting and IPK. SP seriously would need to rethink its strategy if Colors beats it to No.1 tag after the TRPs are out.

I thought that SP employee means you will be paid when you work in the show and not when you don't have any show on air. Is it not. It seems Daljeet Bhanot is anchoring NB with her husband. So somehow if Sanaya doesn't come up in SLB's show or any new show, I am thinking SP will get her in live shows. They have ready made market for it and SP still wants to ride the Arnav-Khushi bandwagon for some more time - milk it till the last drop mentality.

By the way LM said that he is coming back with new show with the same cast in NK's interview. Can you find out from your friend if that is still going to happen given that LM has jumped to Arjun and DB has jumped to NB.

  17. Shwetha - this is for you

So to be able to enjoy BG's bak bak - went and saw MB - i mean the whole of it (have just reached the wedding - around epi 60)

MB in a snapshot from my perspective -
the hero is not introduced till about the 30th episode - and till then, there is nothing much in the show - no one stands out and everyone screeches!!
the only worthwhile character is the adopted dad 'Malik' - if such a character could actually exsit in real life - hats off

(reminded me of Ashok Kumar in Mamta - amazing characterization of the guy - loved his role - am not big on wives/women touches husbands' feet - except for as exceptions - when they really feel he stands tall - and in Mamta when SS touches AK's feet - felt he deserved it)

Coming back to the story - nothing great till then and sorry Geet fans, no offence but MB fails to impress, i loved ODC from the first, but MB - nahhh - DD has huge eyes but they are not as expressive nor as brilliant as SI - DD stares and you get a feeling she is trying to say something while SI speaks volumes with her eyes!

Hero is very grey - very theatrical (and if this is not his usual acting, then he is doing a good job!) - liked his dialogues so far - interesting

Have come to the wedding - nah DD failed here big time - she was in shock, would say a few dialogues and back to stare mode. Hero is definitely better - OTT, but his character is supposed to be so

Will give an update on the remaining bits once i catch up but one thing is for sure, the serial is fun only with BG's tippani

    1. Part II:
forgot to add - the wedding is a big question mark

ODB, even in his anger had married ODG - yes yes it was a hate marriage but he still did the thing in presence of God (his only mistake - no witnesses and no pheras - NO pheras are still ok coz it was one aspect not done - and lots of weddings have a combination of various do's while others have everything - the wedding as such was complete and could be questioned only if one of them wanted it annulled!)
MB RK wedding - really don't know if it should be a wedding - (though technically they were married in front of witnesses and by a pandit!) not only that they had 4 pheras - he never made her wear the MG (that is a must in all weddings right, north or south) - he threw it at her! and he purposely threw the sindoor on the floor - so he basically mocked the bride and the wedding

    2. I agree with you Mona. DD is not able to get the emotions as good as Sanaya does. It is falling flat for me. It's a pity actually that she has beautiful doe shaped eyes but she doesn't emote with her eyes as much as SI does. The airport scenes where SI says "Hamme farak padtha hai kyun ki baat aap ki hai" where she gets the longing of a wife whose husband has misunderstood her and the pathos is too good. I think that is the reason Pankhudi also falls flat for me even though she has beautiful eyes. One other actress I feel does emoting with eyes is Sneha Waugh from Veera. She does show very good emotions with just her eyes and no makeup at all.

      Delete
    3. Agree with you both, when the show started I easily assumed that DD will be the better one hands down and one scene I saw of both of them, RK fell flat.

Then I saw the marriage scene, caught it live on TV on repeat and still remember what I thought:

When she made an appearance in the bridal attire, there should have been a slight softening of RK's eyes for a second, before he continued....the director and the actor missed.

DD was a bit too numb so much so that even if it was shot dramatically, I didn't feel so bad for her as I should have.

I realized VD is much much better when he is talking as he was really very good in that drunken arrogant state.

Now what has happpened is VD is miles ahead of her, in terms of delivery of dialogues, voice modulation and he is getting better at the silent scenes etc.

DD unfortunately is being let down by a weak inconsistent character sketch and still has Geet Hangover.

If ARHI had the age difference as one of its USP, here the fact that both are around the same age has a charm of its own and which is why the almost kiss part 1 worked for me as both knew perfectly what what they were doing and there was a silent acceptance and happiness at that before radio went silent.

      Delete
    4. Agree with you all ... I also thought DD would be much better than VD ... I find the reverse happening. She has lovely eyes and is very pretty ... but the expressions are not there. She's pretty and sweet ... I don't see any fire or even sparks. She's ordinary - I expected her to be remarkable.

And I had absolutely no expectations of VD, thought he had been miscast big time, but I find him much better than DD. His character is also better though ... he maintains that snark, yet the softness is there. I feel Barun was better in showing the vulnerability though ... VD is not as good as him there. Barun's eyes were more expressive. But VD is damn good at the snark, and his voice modulation and dialogue delivery is better for sure.

Romance - both VD and DD need to step up. I saw the Baahon ke Darmiyan on silent mode ... it was picturised well, but again expressions were not quite there. Have to see if with the soundtrack makes a difference. I think Arhi's benchmark is too high!

    5. I have no clue where GH is going with the story here.
OK, when I saw the promos for the show, O thought it was about MB going on to conquer the silverscreen... so I am wondering if that is where all this is leading upto. Dips has totally confused the 'shatir dimag' RK- if this is the excuse the scriptwriter can come up with to maintain the angst in the romance, it is laughable.

RK is shatir enough to know Deepali and Madhu are not comparable..so if he is gping to take up her suggestion of the RK Vs. Rishabh and put Madhu through Agnipareeksha...I am sorry. I will say this guy doesn't deserve the girl at all.

NOt after all she has gone through for him...and after the level of understanding he has about her, so much so that he tried to keep the truth about her father from her...after this level of understanding and shatir-ness, I really really hope RK is not going to fall in to Dipali's trap. It sounds really ridiculous to me, but I suppose this is one of the ways Madhu will be pushed in to an acting career.

Any way, one good thing that came out of watching MB: I discovered Khamoshiyaan which is looking quite good. Absolutely no hopes of a romance here, though Mohit's character is coming back to India to get his bride back to where she belongs... the story is about Gauri wanting to help her mother out of the prison Appa Sahib has created for her...and I gues how her beau helps her in the process. What attracted me to the show is the direction. The scenes are written well too.(It seems to be about the daughter(s) of the family not being treated justly...and how it is time for one daughter to stand up for her mother's rights.)

Actually I think the major problem with MB is with the direction. Even through the KC- radio scene, VD just could not maintain the intensity...he was god at times and then ther was no continuity in his expressions...really fell flat for me. I pointed this out before too, though I am not a fan of DD, in this particular scene she was kind of blank through out...at least there was continuity in her expressions.

    6. Again, no offence to MB or DABH fans...but I feel Suraj and Sandhya has more chemistry than RK and Madhu. I am serious. I saw on erecent epi where they are on a scooter and she rests her hand on his shoulder (ROFL..that is all the chemistry you can expect there!), but the actors expressions were bang on. And another one of their forever cloth drying scenes...expressions were there. I guess that is the difference between an average director and a below average one.

BTW, the Dabangg sequence in DABH was good....done very nicely.(May be also because expectations were zero.) For the first time, a movie promotion did not stick out like a sore thumb! I suppose it is the similarity in the bgs of the show and the movie- both in a rural set up.

    7. su, i agree that suraj and sandhya have become more comfortable in "intimate" moments.. maybe they did learn a thing or two from arshi, when they went to SPL :D

  18. Su: To be frank, RK-Dipali scenes sizzle, it helps that both are damn good.
MB is going khushi way, but where Sanaya managed to lift the characer up, DD is struggling as MB's character is not that well sketched, so it is part Geet part MB. she was okay in the scene when she asks him that he won't let her down, she does fairly well in emotional scenes as well...her best scenes are with bittuji and deepali again.

Romance department may both need to buck up or it could be that like Dia said SARUN indeed have spoilt us.

Yes I agree RK testing because of Dips is mehhhh, the thing is I understand cos DIPS has brilliantly played upto his insecurities, she has shown him a pattern, realizes that RK loves MB more than he ever loved her AND because of their history, getting married yada yada, he is not sure where Madhu stands.

Dips left Rishabh before he became RK. Now she is asking him the same thing, will MB be with RK if he goes back to being Rishabh.

Dia: Confession is hurried, they had no other way out. The initial scenario was MB will turn into a heroine, but at that time TRPs were falling and they sort of had an ultimatum do something or else and hence they brought in the hate marriage track.

With the whole issue of the legality of the marriage thingy and with MU around, they will continue with the track later, that is what I understood.

Direction is totally not upto the mark and DOP is not good either.

Rekhs: i guess the reason I like RK is he is a lot similar to RK, has a sense of humor and I see what ASR was supposed to be, things we expected ASR to be and do which he never got around to doing.

And VD has improved tremedously....he plays it loud, is at times totally mature while dealing with people and with MB can at times be totally like a kid.

I mean this if they can get hitesh, arshad & hrishikesh on board this show somehow, this can almost come close to IPK cos so far they have not totally neglected the side characters.

ALSO VD is expected to take 2 weeks off for his wedding and they are shooting banks and make sure a Sobti does not happen here, so far so good I say.

    1. Arshad and Hrishikesh are on QH. I guess 4 lions has relocated the 200 people on to their various other shows as suggested by IF!(I hope this does not start the 'Gul killed her baby' conspiracy theory.)

Now, where is my dear Kevalya? Where have they hidden him?

      Shwetha,
I agreee the humour in MB catches me unaware. It comes up when I least expect it, I guess I am just getting used to the RK- Madhu kind of romance. But it is becoming a little repetitive and childish. Even with the whole team you mentioned, I doubt it will look as good as IPK- they'd really have to replace DD with San to make the character work. (I say this about Geet too- San would have done a better job there. DD never looked very convincing as Geet also- I am saying this after sitting through some re-runs of Geet in Star Utsav- I cannot feel for the show even though it is a 4 lions product...may be it falls too short after IPK.)No, I am not comparing the shows here, just the actress.

      On RK:
Madhu is the girl who slapped RK in his full glory. He knows the circumstances under which he married her forcefully. Knows the kind of guy she was engaged to... Should he not be thrilled that a girl like Madhu can actually find it in her heart to love a devil like RK, than an ordinary man like Rishabh? Remember how he defended her in front of Bittuji when the chotti munh mein badi baat came up...applauseworthy...what happened to that reasoning?

    2. kevalya has this tendency of disappearing dunno why or maybe he does shows that I am unaware of:) I do know Gautam-Janaki team work really well with hitesh.

Su, I have sort of given up on MB character given its due, so invariably the focus is on bhaiyyaji as he is currently much better and besides I have Dips to look after, so if not RK-MB then RK-Dips will sizzle pucca lol.

haven't watched yesterday's epi will get back to you but all I know is hero ka dimaag goes in breakdown when you least expect and when it is absolutely not needed so no surprises there and frankly Dips was too damn convincing:)

  20. I read somewhere that Zee shifted PSH to 11 pm slot because the story is going to be more adult-y with the relentless pursuit of Suguni by thakur Maalik.

Uncle thakur has convinced nephew thakur that Sugni is continuing on with him behind her hubby's back...plus Sugni's friend got raped...wondering if there is a strong woman- centric track coming up.

Khamoshiyan: Mohit has landed. I bet he'll have the same problem I am having- following all the relations in Appa Sahib's household.

QH: Zoya expects to be thanked after baking an all important CD and being the indirect reason for Asad breaking his second phone in a row...make that the third one minute later!(I think Gul is a man-hater. She purposely makes her heroes fall in love with the exact type of woman that irritates them the most!)

    2. I think Zee shifted PSH to 11 pm also because Qabool Hai was starting ... they gave QH the 9.30 slot. Makes sense ... QH is family drama, and PSH is dark love story with lots of intrigue.

ROFL on your takes on Khamoshiyan and QH, Su!

    3. zoya bakes the CD in a cake and asad is being gentlemanly about it.. he went and punched out the bag instead of going for an out n out confrontation. i'm liking asad, but this guy is definitely not dark.. only serious.

the scenes with asad and zoya.. the bed, the bathroom, the phone, the park.. now the latest, him tripping and falling over the wires.. i have a feeling that they are trying to be 'funny' .. falls flat for me. though i am immensely grateful that asad did not fall over zoya , and that zoya did not fall over asad in her chasing the jumping phone. i half expected the phone to fall on asad's nose, but thankfully that did not happen.. but why zoya ordered a security system herself and not ask asad to do it.. i dunno.

rashid got caught out by those who matter.. and he slithers his way out in a slimy fashion. my question is, why was ayan witnessing personal matters between shireen and rashid? honestly, the villain aunt is the most watchable thing in the whole serial, she has a honesty to her character that belies the way she talks. haseena bi and her brother seem to be caricatures of villains past.. why are there no spine-d males in the groom's family!

      Delete
    4. J,
I feel QH is very much in a comedy phase right now. Then theer is drama with Rashid and his two wives. I don't think they are even going near romance yet.One of the raesons could be that if Gul is actually going on with the Zoya- Ayan temp marriage, then the romance btn Asad- Zoya will not make any sense. (The temp marriage does not make any sense, any way I look at it..thats a dff matter.)

      What is Zoya to Asad?
his feelings are excatly what makes him smash two phones in frustration and punch the bag, instead of slapping her. (She really deserves one or two once in a while. I liked it that they showed slight displeasure even on Dilshad's face in the wire scene. Shows Zoya really crossed the limits. But no one is going to punish her for that)

And since Asad feels Zoya is not a bechaari and is doing all these things on purpose to irritate him, it makes sense for him to agreee to marry that 'pious girl'. (I still don't know how much of that prediction is true, though it is written in the zee website!)

      What is Asad to Zoya?
After the jahanpanah scene- the expression on her face as she asks herself, "Allah miyaan, what's wrong with me? Why am I daydreaming about Asad Ahmed Khan?"- she goes eeewww...there. And she indeedd made that mental connection of Asad bahaving like an emperor- a typical male chauvinist who revels in the attention showered up on him by his mom and sis- Zoya cannot stand this Asad. He is simply too regressive in his thinking for her. So now, if Rashid asks her to be his daughter - in- law, there is nothing holding her back since at least Ayan is 'modern' like her plus the rest of the family is lovable too. (Gul could not come up with a better track?)

Basically, rom com family drama. Com- check, Drama- check, Rom- not yet.(The closest I felt they came to romance was in the fight scene.) They will keep having these funny takraar sessions for the next three months, I suppose.

BTW, on the wire scene- I was expecting something like diwali...may be Z wants to celebrate X'mas or something. I was pleasantly surprised with the security thing and the chinese guy. Out of the box thinking!

On Rashid- he is pretty spineless, I agree. But he is benign.

From IF: "Qubool Hai is about a journey of life, its trials and tribulations and acceptance of one's fate. It is said that God gives us the strength to change what we can and the courage to accept what we can't...some have the courage to accept what we can't ...some have it and some don't have it in them to accept the change...but eventually the journey to accept what God has given us is the essence of Qubool Hai"

      Dilshad has accepted her fate.
Is it about Rashid realising he has to accept that his past actions cannot be undone?

Or is it about Shireen realising she has to accept that her husband is in love with two women, and he cannot rest in peace unless he does justice to the one whom he wronged in the past?

Ayan witnessing the convo btn his parents...I cannot answer how. But I wondered about the tug of war that must be going on in his heart.

Ayan is the one who said they are 5 siblings, of whom two live outside the walls of their house. He wants to be reconciled with his siblings more than Asad, I feel. Asad will never allow his mother to be hurt again.

Now Ayan can see his mother hurting. What will be his feelings towards Asad's mother?

  21. Between Madhu and RK, whise character has been tampered with the most?

Madhu was an independent girl who did the unimaginable- she had the courage to stand up against the superstar RK- even got him jailed. RK manipulated her and forcibly got her married to him. Now Madhu was in a situation where she was constantly put down by her pati- but the girl had spunk. She refused to get knocked down. Every time she retorted, keeping well within her characterization. And slowly she started understanding the person that was RK- what made him so, with help of her MIL. There was a phase where there was a beautiful bond between the MIL- DIL. And for a long time, Madhu thought her feelings for RK were only humane- it was the sympatrhy she felt knowing his past- how hw felt abandoned by his mother.
Then RK was shot and ensued the totally unnecessary melodrama of her wlaking barefooted to the Vinayak temple- donating blood- bringing him back with her faith. (This guy was declared dead and the family had already started mourning. That is why I call it unnecessary drama- a couple which went through an experience like this cannot get separated on any account, especially after they have acknowledged their feelings about each other. This is equivalent to the ambulance moments of ASR and Khushi and once they had that (In case of ASR, post kidnap)- nothing could separate them.Even if Khushi thought she was dispensible, Di was more important to ASR, ASR tried all the tricks in the book to get her back.)
Back to Madhu- her respect for RK grew when she realized how he shielded his assailant, purely because he did not want her to go through the same feelings of deception from someone she looked upto.
Madhu’s love and respect for RK grows and she now goes in to this temporary phase of silliness….she is in love, her heart is singing…quite believable. There is no character assassination in Madhu so far as I can see. The character is quite believable. Only DD does not seem to be convinced of her character, I dunno why.

RK: Has grown to hate and mistrust love after the abandonment he feels at his mother’s and later at his gf’s hands. He married MB only to get back at her. When biwi seemed to not react to his taunts after a point , he actually felt bored with the game. Then Madhu came with the challenge of the Ganesh idol…that ended up in him getting shot. Now from here RK’s shatir dimag has worked. He has known Dipali’s two facedness- knows she is trying to ge him back- exposes her “I gave you blood” story. (This girl is the most shameless liar and chudail on the shows I watch, but I agree, the actress rocks!).He has enough feelings for Madhu to trust her with his secrets- takes her to the lake and confesses his life history. And he has noticed that she has feelings too…one notable scene was where Madhu goes towards the recliner in the night – covers him lovingly- he opens his eyes once her back is turned- he knows she has developed feelings. And after this comes the KC scene- where once Madhu faints- he says the crazy dialogue: you have to prove yourself, these customs are not the basis of a relationship. The moment that dialogue came out, I knew the agnipareeksha story is coming up. But has she not already gone through that? What is the point in making her go through the whole thing again? I agree Dips is convincing, but why is RK who writes his destiny allowing to be swayed by the woman he detests the most?

I feel they are playing ping pong with RK's characterisation.
I expect Madhu to grow stronger from here- depending on whether RK severes his ties with her, mistrusts her again...

or whether Madhu agrees to go with him leaving everything...every one...

Can we have SHIDDAT for LM's new show to be this? Let him carry on from where IPK left off - he can make Khushi a fiancee instead of a wife. Shift all the characters around a bit ... the basics of the story are already in place, with no hangover of a previous epic love story to get over ...

Anyone remember Prodigal Daughter? That was something like this, except that the love interest was the son of her father's enemy.

      SHIDDAT again!!!

    4. Yeah, this guy would have rocked with San.
      Any way, no point now.

Have to agree with Rajan Singh. The whole thing was handled quite poorly. But before SP shut down the show, could they not have tried to explain to the fans? After all their creative team is involved in the show too? I guess they decided to end on a high note of Arhi, rather than dilute the love story with Viraf- even if he was not a love interest, a new character would have taken away from the purity of the love story...

What is 'Iss Pyar Ko kya Naam Doon?' without Arnav and Khushi? It is a different serial altogether. I wish SP or Gul had had the foresight to wrap up the show with Arhi...Though I can't blame any of them for not wanting to let go. Like Viraf mentioned, it was a great team, even minus Barun.

We'll never get such a team again.

  27. Was RK justified in testing Madhu’s love for him, even after the woman gone to great lengths to show how much he means to her?

    Past continues to haunt

RK is a complex man who craves for unconditional love which has always seemed elusive to him. His life experiences have turned him into a cynical, arrogant and dominating man. Three people have had profound impact in the way he has turned out – (a) his father, whose inability to face reality deprived a twelve-year RK of his father when he needed him the most; (b) his mother, who seemed to care more for her own financial and social security than for him when she chose to remarry and bring in a selfish and greedy man with an equally selfish and greedy son into their lives; and finally (c) Dipali, his ex-girlfriend turned sister-in-law who chose his brother over him to realise he dreams of being married to a movie superstar (which she thought the brother would become). RK had loved each one of them in his own way and had ended up feeling betrayed by them. So, one can’t really blame the man for feeling insecure in love.

It is lonely at the top

Being a celebrity has only served to heighten this feeling of insecurity. Most celebrities are insecure as they often wonder whether the blind adulation of the people around them is for the person they are or for the stardom they have achieved. There is always a threat to that stardom, for their meteoric rise can be followed by an unceremonious fall. If the love they have got is linked to their stardom, there is a clear and present danger that it will disappear when they lose their star status.

    Hate begets hate

RK started off by hating Madhu. He locked her in a hate half-marriage and never let go of an opportunity to humiliate her and her family. Despite all this she saved his life and went to great lengths to fulfil the duties of a typical traditional wife even though he had not yet made her his legal wife. Could there be an ulterior motive to this apparently altruistic behaviour. Could her devotion to him be a cover for something more sinister? Is she deceiving him to avenge the ills he brought to her and her family?

Seen against this backdrop, RK’s scepticism about Madhu’s love and his need to put it to test is quite understandable, even if it is not fully justifiable. It may irritate some of us that the trigger for the doubt has been Dipali, a woman he clearly despises but she merely succeeded in scratching the surface and exposing his real vulnerability.

    1. 'Could there be an ulterior motive to this apparently altruistic behaviour. Could her devotion to him be a cover for something more sinister? Is she deceiving him to avenge the ills he brought to her and her family?'

      Opti,
This was the exact question Bittooji asked in his 'chhotti munh mein badi baat'. And the reason why RK's mom (*head desk*) wanted Madhu out of his life.

RK had a beautiful reasoning back then. He came to the conclusion that Madhu would NEVER strike him from behind. He knows her that much.
So, if he is asking the same kosten again and coming to a different conclusion, I have 2 kostens.

      1. What does Madhu have to do to prove that she is 'worthy' of him?
Has she not she pestered him to get the truth of 'why he shielded Malik'? And has he not seen all the pains she went through to keep the KC fast? I don't think RK thinks Madhu might deceive him. That much seems clear as of now (unless they play ping pong again.) ( I am really not trying to poke fun at the script here. RK is actually TESTING his wife here. Lord Rama tested his wife too- not because he was not convinced about her chastity. He wanted 'proof' for his people. He got the proof and lost his wife forever. I used to think a sadist must have written Ramayana. Now I know differently. NO man should put his wife through Agnipareeksha- if she passes it, he does not deserve her for putting her through it. Love is about TRUST- not tests and proofs. The funny thing here is he trusted her once- enough to shield her from the whole family- Dipali's taunts making him do a 180 does not say much about his shatir dimag or love.)

      2. Are they going to play ping pong with his characterisation now and then? Kabhi haan kabhi naa to the same question?(BTW, I never understood why he was averse to her keeping KC one night- refused to come home to break the fast- blasted her after he broke her fast, and the very next day arranges for KC in RK style. What was the point? He believes in KC so long as it is done in his style? Then what was the need to break the poor girl's heart the night before?)

      Delete
    2. You are right he did trust her before and believed that she will never do anything behind his back and if she wants to confront him, she would do it directly but they have also shown that this guy is very insecure when it comes to love after all the dissappointments he has suffered in the past. Dipali beautifully played up those insecurities. He wanted her to make him the centre of her universe. If you notice his love confession where he explains why he fell in love with her it becomes more clear. He knows he can trust her with his life. Now he wants to know if he can trust her with his love. Does she love him as madly as he does her? would she throw away everything to come woith him? He is prepared to throw it all away to become her equal. Will she accept his offer? It seems like he is testing her but really he is tryiong to protect himself from another heart break. He has been jinxed as far as love is concerned. Dare he hope? her reluctance to accept his offer indicated that he was not the centre of her universe. It is an irrational thought but RK is an irrational being especially when it comes to Madhu. His love is almost obssesive and he wants her to feel as strongly for him. She does, only she shows it differently.

I was watching a Rishabla scene where Madhu tries to wake up a 'dead' RK at the hospital. Here is the scene.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01Mj2ow-jws&NR=1&feature=fvwp

Notice what she says to wake him up. She shakes him and tells him that he is a super star,he cannot die this way. His fans want him.etc etc. There is later a scene where he mentions something whih indicates to her that he heard her although he was apparently unconscious. Wish they had played it as a FB when they showed him in the farmhouse. That would give more credence to why he had any doubts about Madhu's love.

      Delete
    3. About your query on the KC, my reading was that RK did not believe in rituals and did not want his aadhi adhuri wife to keep them for him. At this point he was fighting his own feelings of growing fondness for her and Bittu hit quite close home when he told him that he is refusing to go home and break the fast because he did not want to acknowledge the relationship between them. His restlessness at the sets indicated that his heart and mind were battling with each other and he finally had to give in to his heart.

His reactions seeing Madhu faint before his eyes only showed that the guy was really madly in love with her. He was even insisting on getting into the wash room with her only to ensure that she does not faint there, much to Madhu's consternation. His sudden turn around that afternoon seems unfathomable. I think he was brusque in his behaviour and scathing in his remarks because he was concerned for her health. he did not like her repeatedly endagering her health to take care of him. He did not like the pathi vratha savitri roop of his biwi. he wanted to get back the fiesty Madhu who was lethally attractive to him. He did not want to see this weepy, subserviant Madhu she had become.

But the guy is all mushy inside despite his hard exterior. Soon he regreted his harsh behaviour and wanted to make up to her for both the days. Since he is not capable of apologising with words, he wanted to apologise through his actions. Creating the KC set in the studio and get her there so that she can fulfill at leisure every ritual she wanted to was to show that he respects her although he does not always approve of her actions. He made it clear he still did not believe in these rasams when he mocked the entire set of rituals. Loved his line where he says that they say pathi is parameshwar so he should be saying Oh me everytime he wants to say Oh god. the guy has a crptic sense of humour which never fails to bring a smile to Madhu's face.
      madhu

    4. 'the guy has a cryptic sense of humour':
That is one of the saving graces about the show. That is the cutest thing about this couple.

On the fb about the scene where Madhu wakes him up saying his fans needed him- I wouldn't find it relevant here even if they played that as fb, simply because both of them did not have those feelings at the time...they acknowledged their feelings much later. The near death and the FIL- shielding is what strengthened their bond, I feel. At that point when Madhu woke him up, she was merely reminding him of his importance as he considered it- she was appealing to the EGO of superstar RK. That was the prominent hing about him as she knew him. (Cute scene. But I think they overdid the scene. They did not really have to show him nearly dying- blood donation would have sufficed if they were planning on this 'can I trust you' track. I guess to me, if I can trust someone with my life, I could trust them with my love, faith, all.)

On the double KC, I guess what is unfathomable is how he turned around in a matter of a day. If he had acknowledged her right to fast for him, instead of taunting her about the chaar phere pati- he would have shown her some respect, as well as not made her cry. They could have shown some monologue where he thinks things through before she decides to make up. As it is the show is full of them it wouldn't have hurt to show one more here.

Hmm... makes me wonder. Is GH trying to show that RK's love is incomplete because of his ghamand and therefore future will show how that ghamand will be broken? Directly or indirectly through Madhu? I am expecting the script to get stronger with the Madhu track, but I guess the yo-yoing will continue.

      Delete
    5. And it was not even near death- it was 'declared dead'! *head desk* Why did they have to go for that melodrama?

      Delete
    6. I mentioned that scene because it would at least give him some reason to believe that Madhu could have wanted him alive because of his fame (as Dipali told him before he went off to the farm house). Yes, Madhu brought him back to life by appealing to his ego but did she want him alive because she cared for him, as Rishab the person or because he was RK the super star? It is really stupid to even have this doubt because Madhu in all their interactions never really showed that his star status mattered to her. If anything she always proved that it did not. The only excuse could be that the guy is so madly in love that he is fearful of losing her and a rotten woman like Dipali could easily manipulate this man when his vulvnerability is exposed.

Trusting someone with your life and trusting them with your love is not the same thing. He knows that Madhu will not want him dead, even if she detests him. It is not in her character to wilfully harm someone but that does not mean that the person will love him unconditionally and as obsessively as he does her. She herself may not know whether she loves the man or the star as both are bundled in one package. He wanted to separate the two so that she is forced to choose. Unfortunately he misinterpreted her decision and typically has no patience to hear her side.

From story point of view, I think they wanted to address this conflict in their social status - his being the star and her being an ordinary mortal. He wanted to bring the star to the ground but maybe she would raise the ground to the star.

Your theory may also be right as GH is wrting this one and we did see how ASR's ego was finally shattered but personally I think it is more to do with the man's insecurities rather than ego which is at play here.

Coming to the KC scene, at first he did not want her to fast as he had seen that it had no effect from his own life experience. He knew that his wife is ziddi and hence to break her zid he acted nasty with her. As to not showing his change of heart, I think that was deliberate because they wanted the KC set up to be as much a surprise to the viewer as it was to Madhu.

At least this show has enough and more monologues and FBs to figure out what is going through the complex minds of the characters. In IPK we were left guessing what was in Arnav's mind most of the time after the forced marriage. Many hoped that his brain was plotting to uncover the truth but were disappointed to find that it just froze at the terrace scene and never moved forward despite so many incidents which proved him wrong.

    7. He knows that Madhu will not want him dead, even if she detests him.:
But he has seen and read the moony look in her eyes and knows she is in love.

'She herself may not know whether she loves the man or the star as both are bundled in one package.': I think Madhu at least is clear about that. She hated the guts of RK, the superstar and fell for Rishabh, the abandoned son, the wronged lover...the man who hid inside the superstar aura- the one who forgave his assailant so easily so as not to hurt her feelings.

In IPK we were left guessing what was in Arnav's mind:

That was the beauty of IPK for me. I never expected ASR to come out with proof- the hate marriage was intended for just that- I hate you, but I cannot stop loving you.

In the end, he demanded no more proof.(This was the biggest thing for me.) Her word was enough...and he connected the dots himself even before she came for him. He said ILU before she attempted to rescue him. And once he said ILU, there was no going back for him. The thoughts were written so beautifully and they had the good fortune of having Barun who depicted exactly what was written in the script. And the mystery of his mind, I guess is what made us go back over and over again watching the episodes...and finding something new with the rewatch. For me, that is part of what made it the classic it was, along with the actors.

    8. Su,

I understsnd the 'hate you but I cannot stop loving you' is all fine as long as they continued to show what is it that makes him hate her despite every action of hers screeming her innocence. I undestand his anguish and his fury after the terrace scene but the continuance of that MU even after he saw how much it tore apart to be away from her family (would such a girl then think of breaking up the marriage of her sister's sister-in-law), her astute avoidance of Shyam, her repeated questioning of why he married her (if she was in cohots with Shyam would she not know the reason by then?) somehow did not gel.

The heights was that he continued with that belief even after he overheard what she told her mother about what a wonderful husband he is and even after she told him the sequencce of events which happended between her and Shyam, when he was privy to each one of them. Should he not have connected those dots much before, instead of putting her to the test? The dot connection seems to have happened only in his captivity (nearly 6 months into the hate marriage). no wonder we all had doubts of his shatir dimaag. I could have accepted that illogical track if they had shown incidents which had gone to reaffirm his belief like Khushi and Shyam being repeatedly caught together. But for the HR scene where he saw something partially and later regretted acting harshly with her, he never got any confirmation of his doubts of her integrity but plenty of instances which proved her innocence.

If that trust without evidence had come well before her
narrating that Shyam was the one she was engaged to I would have commended his great love.

It is soley to Barun's and Sanaya's credit that they rose above that pathetic script post the hate marriage which belittled the characters of both Arnav and Khushi and delivered a stupendous performance.

So far, I feel that MB has a much more clearly defined male protagonist than IPK did. VD is also doing a good job although his expressions are no way near Barun's. What is lacking is good direction as you rightly pointed out.

    9. About the moony look in her eyes, yes he can read that she is in love but what he hasn't figured out is whether she loves RK the super star or Rishab the man. In fact he did not have any such doubts till wiley Dipali planted them for him. When I said she may not know who she loves, I was merely voicing his thoughts and not really discussing what she felt. I was merely sauying what must be running in his mind. there is no doubt that Madhu loves the man with all his flaws but he still does not know that for sure.

    10. opti, cannot help but butt in.. if i remember correctly, arnav and khushi went to live in GH just after their one month anniversary(later changed to three) and i guess he was still mad at her,but he was getting used to her presence in his life, her power over him.. though he still was terribly hurt about her having an affair with TF, he believed that she had quit the affair and was being an okayish temporary wife. (it did not help that he could never stay mad at her for too long, she'd do something adorable and he'd melt)

so if the suicide attempt happened at three months, and the kidnapping happened soon after, i guess it was an okayish timeline for his thoughts to turn around.. after all, she did tell him the truth before he left, and he had more than enough time to think about her words, and past actions, while in captivity.. he was resigned to his fate while in captivity, thought he's never see her again..hence the confession.. only after the first khushi meetup did he get any sort of hope.. and gained his arrogance back..and wanted to escape. and even after all that came shyam accusation and di-rama, i'm thinking it lasted at least two months, where khushi felt like an outsider, even though she knew arnav loved her.. and di was secretly meeting up with TF..and khushi left to live with bua..(though it all was scrunched into what felt like one week) so it was after the sixth month and reconciliation that dadi entry happened.. and the whole rewedding track afterwards.

sorry i typed so much. am not watching MB now, but i can see how dips would trick RK into believing that madhu loves RK.. when madhu was waxing poetic about rishu to her mom in the previous scene.

  28. We are told that Madhu would reluctantly enter the film industry at some point in the show. Why would she enter the industry?

I think the story as it is poised gives scope for Madhu's entry into the film industry. Here are the reasons for it.

    The gista-pista reason

Trishna had asked Shamsher to request RK to take her in his film. In an effort to fulfil Trishna's wishes, Shamsher may visit RK in his sets and place in his request for a part for Trishna. This only adds fuel to the fire. RK, who is already upset with Madhu for refusing to go with him and presumes that it is because she loves him for his stardom, would think that this only proves that Madhu is after his fame and not his heart. He may vent his anger at Shamsher and sarcastically tell him that he hasn't returned his money because he does not want to take back his daughter and now he wants favours for his other daughter too. Madhu, who comes to the set to try reasoning with RK, overhears this and may be upset with him. Around this time she may get an offer to act and she accepts it because she wants to save Shamsher's honour by returning the money back to RK. Her entry into the film industry also gives her a better chance to recommend Trishna's name to the producers and hope her sister's bitterness towards her is reduced.

    A more novel reason

RK-Madhu relationship is unbalanced at the current point. He has a contract which gives him the power to keep her with him till he gets back the money he has spent for Shamsher's treatment. So Madhu has a financial dependence on RK.

They are also socially not matched. RK is a superstar and she is just a common girl from the chawl, a fact that Dipali never ceases to rub in. RK wanted to make them equal by telling her that he was ready to forsake all his fame and wealth as long as she is willing to come away with him and start life afresh. Madhu has no interest in his fame or his wealth but still refuses his offer because she was thinking of both their families. His relationship with his mother is still strained and she had promised her that she will set it right. The relationship between her foster father and her mother is strained because of her refusal to forgive him for what he did to RK. Unless she forgives him, her mother will not be in a position to forgive him. With the impending arrival of her real father, her mother is in danger. She needs Shamsher's protection for which they need to get back together and fight the evil father. So Madhu may forgive Shamsher and urge her mother to do so. At the same time she wants to show RK that she really loves him with all his flaws and not for his fame.

So she may choose to enter the film world to break this financial dependence and social imbalance between them. A career in films would give her enough money to repay RK and also give her equal fame as RK. Without the bonds of a contract to tie her to him or the apparent social divide which may keep her under him, if she still chooses him, it would prove to RK that she is madly and deeply in love with him. The depth of her love will be further evident when he comes to know that she never wanted to be in the industry in the first place and chose it only to bring herself to his level without letting him come down to her level.

  29. Su,

I liked that 'bringing back to life' scene. there have been instances of people coming back to life after being declared dead. So it is not unbelievable.

    1. I am not saying it is unbelievable. I personally know a girl who was declared dead, wheeled into mortuary and then they found her alive. This happened some 15 years back and she is as normal as anyone else. All I am saying is, it is a huge thing...like ASR almost lost K. Once a couple goes through an experience like that, you can hardly show them testing each other's love.

    2. I think I already clarified this point. Yes, she wanted him back from the dead. she keeps vrath for his long life, she cares deeply for him but still does it categorically prove to him that she loves the man and not what he represents? After nearly 18 years of marriage I still keep asking my hubby did he marry me because he loves me the person or the background I came from. Do I suspect his love? No but it helps pander to my need to be given that constant reassurance. now RK is a man who has failed in all his past relationships. He has treated Madhu abominably. yet she seems to have fallen for him. Would he not have doubts about whether he could be worthy of such love? Would she be with him without the trappings of the world? Where he was going wrong is in not allowing her to explain. Her reluctance was taken as rejection. His impatience is bound to cause both the pain but then dont' we relish in the angst of any couple in love? I am looking forward to seeing how this pans out and I hope they do show more of the conflicted emotions here than they did in IPK.

    3. Yes, Opti.
Generally we women need constant reassurance. I don't expect that in a man. And as women, we don't go about testing a person's love for reassurance. OK, RK has gone through the emotional trauma of being cheated in love...still, it seems very childish to me- "OK, I love you. In spite of the fact that we don't seem to be a made for each other couple.OK, I know you not only saved my life, but brought me back from the dead, purely by your faith. NOW prove your love to me, because I cannot tolerate another heart break. I want to make sure you did not fall in love with the superstar RK, when the superstar RK is the guy you had no qualms about sending to jail"- read- she was never enamoured with the brute superstar. Their very first encounter proved that. And it was that coolness towards his status that attracted him to her in the first place. And he has always maintained she is a honest person too- so there is no way she was attracted to him with the trappings of the world.

Or does he think now that Madhu who was a fiery honest girl, who stood up against his stardom, went through utter humiliation, but preserved her personalty (dumping his alcohol, fighting for Ganesh idol and all- all the time standing up against the arrogance of the superstar ) yet loved him enough to will his life back and subsequently humbled herself to confess her love... when did he think Madhubala started acting out of character? When she went moony?(LOL. Thats when we all thought she was acting out of character...though I am understanding about that phase.)

The very interesting thing is that the re- cap goes- 'Did Madhu fall in love with Rishabh or RK? Jaanne ke liye dekhiye...' we are not supposed to know yet. They will tell us whether Madhu fell in love with the star or the man within. I am waiting to know....I am sincerely hoping DD will do a good job when MB is thrown into the tinsel world.

    4. Su,

That is precisely the point. RK is childish. Madhu has said this many times. I am not justifying his behaviour (far from it) but I understand where he comes from. If they show everything is hunky dory between the two, how can they stretch the show? So I will take this as peril of daily soap. Ideally I would like to see RK regretting his beaviour soon (even without Madhu having to really prove that she loves the man and not his fame) but Madhu plays hard to get and makes him work to win her love.

  30. Coz Madhubala seems the flavor of the week:

My 2 cents on the story (Part II)

Yup - the story defi picks up post wedding, as does DD

First the pitfalls - Everyone minus the lead and Dips - everyone is OTT and loud adn i actually dislike the mother!
(btw this is what good make up can do - Dips looked ordinary in her introduction shots and by now has her eye makeup mastered to the T, the smoky eyes make her look hot!)

saw all the episodes with the help of FF (Fast-forward!)

The Hospital drama was the pits!!! Su you were being polite when you said it was unnecessary drama - it was plain pathetic - Seriously - read some science please before doing stories - the director has a naseeb (read 80's Manmohan Desai) hangover - you DO NOT give blood directly to a person!! you give it to a blood bank and every one can and each sample goes through hundreds of tests before it is passed on! -
the guy has a gun shot close to the heart and you want to jump start him??
you are in ICU apparently and no nurse, doc is around and wifee does bandage!!!! Seriously (rolling eyes up!!)

    the +ves -
    - love the hero - always in character, love his wit and humour - even when he is proposing, he cant stop it - loved all his dialogues. very clear characterization and always true to it - shatir demagh and he uses it, yipeee!

    - loved that he knows she is falling for him, loved that they both are aware, not sleepwalking - very believable

    - Shwetha - have to agree - the throwing of alcohol was a great scene, did not appreciate it when you shared the link coz had no ref. Loved how he smiles for the first time and hides it, cute. Loved the first time they shared the bed, funny

    - can totally understand his insecurity, liked the way Dips played her cards - she never said MB was not in love with RK, but just that..she (MB) was in love with RK not the vulnerable person behind! - she knew he would not hear a word against MB - so Dips did good!

    Present:
    - Confession -
the CT ruined it with all the echo - spoilt the flow.
Can someone please explain what is wrong with this girl???? why did she hold back? cant understand at all, or is she the sati savitri perfect bahu types, doing this coz of a promise to her mil?? seriously woman, the man is bearing his heart and you cant even respond - stupid girl!
Loved the reasons he gave for loving her - he drew her character out so damn well, a perfect answer - the perfect description of why he loved her, the real her - and that's all he wanted her to say - that she loved him - the real him! Silly girl - goes off on a mahanta trip rather than say what she feels!!

Seriously i was a feminist (albeit a fair one) before IPK and MB and now i seem to be always defending and liking the guys - be it ASR, RK or his FIL!!!

    1. Mona,

Agree with you. The hero is the star attraction (pun unintended). As I said to Su, his character is better etched than ASR was and he definitely has more brains and shows it too. Vivian is great in the snarky scenes and his smile (the michevious one) is killing. Of all the T.v.stars I've seen so far, he has one of the best dialogue delivery in terms of diction and voice modulation(among the younger lot). Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor may be better but then they belong to the older lot.

I agree that the echo was not needed and spoilt an otherwise good scene. Even without the echo it wasn't a great scene because I felt Vivian could have emoted a little more with his eyes but then I think that is not his forte. I caught the pre-edited shots of that scene on youtube. The two had to give so many retakes to get the scene right and I felt the rehearsal shots were better than the actual scene telecast.

About why Madhu held back, my defence is this. The girl loves RK as madly as he loves him but she cannot turn away from both their families, at least not at the current juncture. The man who raised her up is broken hearted because she has not forgiven him and the relationship between him and her mother is broken because of it. She needs to set things right there. She needs to forgive the man for attacking her husband so that her mother will have it in her heart to forgive him. She had promised her mother that she will bring back her son. RK may not love his mother but for Madhu family is important and she wants him to make peace with her. She will feel guilty if she did not try to mend the broken relationship. When the relationships around them are in shambles how can she think of running away with him?

If she knew the extent of insecurity in his heart, maybe she may have considered appeasing his feelings first and work towards mending the other relationships later. She was not privy to the Dipali conversation so she does not know what was irking him and when she tried to explain her stand, he wasn't interested in listening.

I guess both are equally crazy people, madly in love with each other but unable to fathom the depth of each other's feelings. The guy still does not know that Madhu has not forgiven her father for the attacks on his life. he is under the impression that like a dutiful daughter she tried to protect him and he perfectly understood that. If he knew how harsh she was with him and the shambles her family is in right now, he will have no doubt about the depth of her feelings for Rishab the man.

      Delete
    2. Su - oh i agree that she loves him and all that about her family - but i guess my grudge is (very like most couples) she is not listening to him (as in hearing him yes but not listening) - when he said all that he said - he basically told her he loved her for herself and all she had to do was say why she loved him - what she told her mom - she loved the guy rishab, the caring, feeling, sweet person - not the aqru rk - infact had she had the brains to say the right things she should have said she loved the soft guy and the akru exterior for he was what he was - all of it - from the rishu to the RK!
Now i guess the show will head downhill again with unnecessary drama and separation and fighting - but then its a story and it has to go on!

that's why i liked watching the whole thing till now - first i could FF the nonsense parts and second - i had no other info on the show - so it was good to watch without any anticipation etc
