I loved the idea of Khushi’s pregnancy and Arnav going totally nutso! It would have made for a very cute track. Nani and Anjali looking after her, all the gharelu nuskas etc and Khushi going on with life normally in the first few months of pregnancy and Arnav super protective and over the top…
ReplyDeleteI wanted a track for Anjali. Proper vindication, moving on and meeting someone.
Khushi –being her usual interfering self deciding that Anjali needs true love in her life…Arnav telling her to leave well enough alone. Eventually Arnav comes around and starts looking for people he would approve of – and finally finds a return from ‘xyz place’ abroad who he knows through business. Meanwhile Anjali meets some doctor/therapist (lol)….and the teams are formed…Khushi and Akash want the Indian doctor and Payal and Arnav try and set her up with the foreign return businessman. They both have their completely opposite ways of doing things…Arnav and Payal understated, subtle plans and Khushi and Akash totally over the top fun plans…Eventually Anajli sees through all of this…tells them all off- she can make up her own mind thank you very much!!
During the hate marriage track I really wanted a Khushi to get hurt- preferably pushing Dee out of harms way (and getting hit by a car in the process)and getting hurt very badly- fighting for her life…Arnav still not knowing the truth, still hates(loves) her is told that she probably wont make it, eventually going to Devi Maiyya to beg for the life of the girl who he loves but doesn’t love him – promising to let her go if DM makes her wake up. – thus establishing some element of selfless love from his end too.
Following this, her recovery, (broken leg) everyone takes care of her – he just stays away though occasionally unable to resist takes care of her (imagine all of Khushi’s tentative hopeful looks here- awww). After all he’d promised to let her go once she got better – of course that doesn’t happen….another Shyaam episode of some kind and back to square one.
Something I felt was always missing…Arnav thrashing- I don’t mean a measly slap! – proper thrashing- Shyaam. Those gundas on the Nainital trip barely did anything and he went all caveman on them and this jackass has been harassing her since day 1 and all he got was a slap?....Missing scene…sun setting – every single flash black of Shyaam – touching/looking/hurting/making her cry and Arnav beating him up thoroughly. – Not for dee. Not even for her really – just out of pure fury.
I wanted a separation track….with Khushi walking out of RM head held high – everyone knowing the truth (or maybe just Arnav) her words echoing as she walks out of his life...and a proper manoing, RTR, wooing. With Khushi not giving in.
Missing scene….return to the dargah/sheesh mahal…during the separation –
Also Teej, the vrat and the water and all should have been done…with memories from last Teej.
I know I’m the only one rooting for this but I really would have loved NK and La to end up together. They would have made an adorable couple. –
Also they should have shown NK starting to work or something.
Even with the Aarav track they should have shown him not accepting her initially and gradually softening and then eventually calling her mom. They did to some extent but this would have been a much nicer track than the fashion show….
We got diddled out of the full RTR ... I wanted to see the entire Raizada family getting to know the truth of how Arnav blackmailed Khushi into marriage, and Payal, Buaji remembering their words about Khushi not being their own blood - they needed an RTR too, for making her constantly like an orphan. Not Payal so much as Buaji.
ReplyDeleteI also would have liked more scenes of Buaji's regret that she forced Khushi into the engagement with Shyam, and apologising to Arnav about it, as well as admitting that she was the one who forced the engagement, Khushi never wanted to say yes.
Long held SHIDDAT ... Arnav coming to know that Khushi said yes to marrying Shyam on Diwali night, after the almost-kiss, and his words to her after that.
What I would have really liked to see ... rather than the Guptas keeping quiet about Shyam, especially after the Payash rishta was fixed ...
Buaji and Khushi go to Naniji and tell her about Shyam, also tell her that Khushi tried to tell Anjali, but the haadsa of the mangalsutra and Anjali's panic prevented her. Naniji understands, decides to go ahead with the Payash wedding, and tells them to keep quiet till Anjali has her baby. They all agree that Shyam might change after the baby arrives. Nani decides not to tell either Akash or Arnav, as she knows Arnav's anger, and is scared he will throw Shyam out and jeopardise Anjali's baby. But now Nani is on her guard about Shyam.
Hate marriage happens ... Nani is even more angry with Khushi for agreeing, because she knows that having Khushi in the same house will encourage Shyam. And Khushi doesn't know that Arnav knows about Shyam, so the rest of the marriage track proceeds as it did.
This because I felt after Payal's wedding was fixed, it was Buaji's and Garima's duty to tell Naniji about Shyam ... they should have told an elder in the family, not left it to Khushi to make the decision. And Arnav too, should have consulted Nani, not taken a decision arbitrarily for his sister. And either way, Anjali deserved to know - she was an adult!
However that would have changed the kidnapping track, because once Arnav told Khushi he married her because of Shyam, Khushi could call on Nani as her witness ... I still don't understand why Khushi asked Shyam to vouch for her story, rather than Buaji or Garima *head desk* ... anyway, I would have liked to see nani throw it back to Arnav that she knew about Shyam but kept quiet for Anjali's sake, and point out that Arnav also kept quiet for the same reason, and so did Khushi and the Guptas.

this was the one shiddat I sooooo wished had happened....the past properly unfolding in front of Arnav via Payala and the Gupta's and him realizing how much he hurt her and pushed her into the engagement...All once she'd left of course....
And if the entire Raizada family came to know the truth I'm sure they'd go after Khushi...and she should of politely declined in a dignifies manner....YEP we really got diddled out of RTR and that was all Barun's stupid movie's fault. stupid kidnapping track was never meant to be.
Yeah in retrospect the Nani thing would have been much better. And would have put Gupta's on some moral high ground.

Absolutely wonderful tracks- all that you have written down here.
Even I feel rtr got washed away in Barun's movie plans.
I badly wanted Payal to be the first one to realise she was the sole reason Khushi jumped into the marriage.
Also I was never rooting for the remarriage now. How I wish ASR was made weak with the BFTP- either has an accident and got lost that night or confessed he could not marry the daughter of the woman who killed his maa-....He could have gone immed on a long business trip and Khushi could have moved on- started working in ASR's rival- Viraf's office still maintaining ties with Anjali and nani. Later on, they could have shown Viraf marrying Anjali, with the final track of Arhi reunion after proper rtr.
The scenes/tracks that i would have liked the IPK team to have handled differently....are many ..tho i guess i have ranted thru the period of IPK....
ReplyDeletemy pet peeve was always the post kidnap ASR, who thot the problems in his Di's life ended with that slap, another peeve was the lack of fruition to the Di-drama (it had a tame end beyond my comprehension), another irritation was a Khushi who became unrecognisable to me as days went by, also I hated the fact that Arnav said sorry to Khushi for bringing Shyam home....and last but certainly not the least the damp squib BFTP..and the expected RTR for Arnav.that was rafa dafa with aoh so sorry also hated Ratna mom's opportune FB like hell that robbed me of my epic tale....
i will stick to the ones after the kidnap(simply becos the ones before the kipnap had a story to tell which they did well enuf and the one during the kidnap had a compulsion of its own.,..so i think for me its only fair to comment on tracks after that period)
one of the most abrupt scene for me after this period was the Khushi_Arnav convo at GH on Arnav discovering that K was staying back becos of the contract and Di....while i accept the time was not ripe for an RTR per se becos the story writer would have wanted a graph for Khushi to undergo a period of unease in the relationship (Di-Arnav-Khushi angle) but I felt the scene was sorely lacking in an emotional connect.
Creatively, for me..it should have been a period of angst for Arnav becos Khushi would be holding back becos of her feelings at the situation and Di being a emo clinger and that called for emotional roller coaster ride for Arnav, a ride that i would have loved to see on screen handling the two loves of his life...and just when things may have looked to stabilise....the unlucky lovers would have had the BFTP to rise its ugly head again...truly proving why this story was meant to be star crossed tale.....why they will find ways to fight to be together even as fate threw them in the deep end...tu hi bata mere maula......
i'm sorry i'm posting it here and not commenting to the fabulous SKD that padfoot and dia gave.. but i have no time to sit and think and write, only to watch and read in 10 minute intervals.. and i guess wherever i post IPK links is okay, but this was a snippet of the episode that has a little bit of everything that made me fall in love with IPK>>

ReplyDeleteYes the IPK hangover continues. I never watched shows before and still cannot. There were two things that I really wanted to see was ....the clash between Arnav and Khushi on their faith in god... Did not want to see Aranv convert or anything but would have loved to see him acknowledging the presence of a higher power and the power of faith and belief.
The second thing which they did try and show but in a very disatisfactory manner was Khushi standing on her own feet . The Mrs India contest was her attempt to do something out of her legue but I wished she worked along with Arnav besides him at work.
I think her getting pregnant was a bit early but it would have been cute if it were a false alarm and Arnav making a fuss..... Would have loved to see Sanaya do the act.
Ah well.....

Well, I had long wishlist in IPK.
ReplyDelete1. Khushi getting hurt and Arnav getting down on his knees in front of Devi maiyaa for her recovery and coming back alive to him. Definitely wanted this as RTR
2. Khushi trying to fit in Arnav's world and Arnav grooming her with some good western clothes - not the one Khushi wore during the 'I Love You' sequence in conference room. I mean real classy and real decent clothes which will make her a showstopper.
3. Complete back story of Shyam - Why did he come in Anjali's life. What was his agenda? How is he connected to Khushi and ASR. I would have loved it if Shyam had some hisab kitab purana with Khushi's parents and in order to settle it tries to hurt Payal or Khushi. I for one wanted some relationship progression between Payal - Arnav and Akash - Khushi.
4. Definitely Anjali standing up and doing something for herself. Given that the tagline/basic story of the show was how a brother and sister find love and perfect life partners, it was really strange that Anjali was only a wall flower for most of the show.
5. Full truth of Shyam attacking Anjali and Shashi to be out. Full truth of contract marriage to be out and Khushi walking away for sometime. Arnav wooing Khushi and trying to get her back in his life.
6. A good girl coming in for NK and all of them enjoying NK's marriage.
7. Pregnancy of Payal and Khushi and both Arnav and Akash going crazy with the demands of the pregnant wives.
Sigh all this would have taken the story for another 1 yr if only the PH was interested
and of course of the cast was interested:-(
