4/3 - Epi 47 ... Meetings Planned and Unplanned

Tuesday 4th March

Yes, she was in the bathroom! We guessed right!

Seriously? Only one scene of Sanaya?! What the heck?!!!
That scene was cute and hilarious ... Rudra going all ballistic about the missing Paro, feels his saans return to normal as he sees her stroll down the corridor perfectly safe and sound ... first checks her out, much to Paro's bewilderment ... 'are you all right? Fever? Pulse?'
And when she snatches her hand away wondering what's wrong with him, he belatedly remembers to be rough and gruff ... 'where were you?! Tell me where you go ... everywhere!'
Paro ... 'bathroom' ... very soft, subdued ... embarrassed.
Rudra still roaring, 'yes, tell me everywhere you go ...'
Paro ... even softer, with the faintest delicate touch of incredulity in her voice  ... 'bathroom?'
And Rudra suddenly realises what he's saying and splutters incoherently, before muttering something about having to watch out for her.
Paro says softly 'nothing will happen to me, after all you're looking after my safety.'
Rudra almost melts ... did she actually say something nice about him?
Paro sets him straight on that one ...'after all, I'm, your witness, and you need me to prove your lies to be the truth.'
Paro baisa is made of very stern stuff indeed. Rudra has nothing in reply ... after all, she's only parroting his own words back to him. But for Rudra, the lines are blurring very rapidly between captive prisoner and affianced bride ...

So Mohini and Sumer captured the stalker after all ... have to give them credit for brains ... this was Rudra's job, if he could get rid of distracting inconveniences like Laila. And Sumer and Mohini have no trouble in getting the required information out of the stalker ... and the required name ... Param Singh Tejawat, who is like Paro's adopted father.
Mohini doesn't seem to believe Tejawat is looking for Paro out of fatherly concern ... how right she is! Mohini should really take over the BSD investigation from Rudra ... or from Tejawat's men ... she's smarter than both of them combined.

Mala meets Maithili ... almost meets Rudra ... hides from Mohini ... with a whispered 'forgive me, Jija ...'
More and more mystifying ... Mala does not hold any grudges against Mohini? So why is Mohini so vicious against Mala?
Mala meets Danveer, who rushes her away before she can see Rudra ... 'not the right time ...'
I'm beginning to get suspicious about Danveer now.

Mala bumps into Dilsher and knocks him down ... and helps him up ... so she's met most of the family tonight. And she rushes off.
Mohini takes the opportunity to get in a few more taunts ... Dilsher fights back ... and Mohini tells him how much she hated her younger, more perfect sister. So Mohini hated Mala, but Mala seems to be completely unaware of the hate.

Rudra tells Laila to leave ... Laila takes the opportunity to make a few more threats ... she will not let this wedding happen.
Rudra does try to tell her again that things are not what they seem, but he can't tell her the truth ... of course, Laila is not willing to listen. For her, she and her feelings and her supposed betrayal come first, overriding everything else, including any compulsions Rudra might have. She loves Rudra, ergo, Rudra owes her.
Rather a self-centred lady, is our Laila.

Thakurain returns home ... to meet waiting Tejawat. And more secrets spill out from her ... about her son. Tejawat is surprisingly loving and understanding ... so apparently Mala told him nothing of her past when she came to him? And he's a loving husband, he will take her to meet her son ...
Only problem is, the son turns out to be his sworn enemy. And as expected, his love for his Thakurain doesn't extend to loving her progeny, especially not if he has his own axe to grind with them. For Thakursa, Thakursa comes first.

Precap - Mohini making a deal with the devil ... take Paro, with my blessings ... and in return ... Rudra.
What about Rudra?

So now both Paro and Rudra are in danger ... Tejawat knows their whereabouts to the T.

  1. Dia,

Enjoyed today's episode but with Ashish's medical leave brakes maybe applied to the story. I don't think it is such a bad thing if the creative's handle it well. They have enough characters and actors to work with and who can deliver. They focus a bit more on Paro, Thakur and Thakurayan and make it a bit more wholistic, but the sudden disappearance of Rudra needs to be explained.

I agree with what you wrote in your previous post that the revelation of Rudra's mother this early surely means there is a lot more to tell in the story, which is very exciting. Sanaya too said that there is a lot more to come from Rudra and Paro.

This brings me to a question, Diya, what do you thinking about the writing for Paro so far? I have been reading few posts on the MF and cannot understand where the confusion lies. Are people overly critical of the actor because of her popularity (and it makes one sound cool and objective) or is the character really the most ill conceived or am I blind?

    1. Uma, tell me about it!!! I am so irritated with all those posts, especially the ones from the so-called 'un-biased' intellectual writers, who are not able to understand Paro's psyche and therefore are so quick to label her as badly written!
In India, even today, there are many women who don't have choices, who are quiet and follow the dictats of society. Yet they are not weak, when the opportunity arises, they are the strongest of the lot. Paro is one such woman.

Initially I also had apprehensions that Paro was not so well written ... she is the only pure white character, all the others have shades. But I think that is exactly what makes this Paro's journey ... everything all the other characters do, affects HER ... and she evolves accordingly. And so far, her journey has been in synch with her experiences ... Rudra, on the other hand, is going through some jerks ... a dedicated BSD officer, whose life is the BSD, is shown to be so affected by Paro, that he seems to forget his duty in his obsession.

I think some writers definitely find it 'cool' to show their objectivity in being critical of Paro ... it's really annoying. I think I'm going to spend more time here than in IF again ... I prefer this place where I can vent and say what I please.

The first scene of the episode was so good .. but I feel Ashish did NOT convey that desperation, that panic as well as he could have. Sanaya carried that scene through ... her initial bewilderment and then cool unconcern balanced him and played up his panic, but as far as emoting went, he could have done better. She is playing Paro very subtly, while all the other characters are larger than life ... but it takes an unprejudiced eye to detect the finesse with which she is playing Paro. It was the same with Gunjan ... she played Gunjan very subtly, Gunjn was a very quiet character ... Indian audiences love the dramatic and the flamboyant ... and the subtle often escapes their attention.

Anyway ... I needed to vent ... thank God for this space! :)

As for the story in Ashish's absence, I'm not too worried ... they have a huge cast, and a wedding going on ... am sure they can manage with some filler scenes, and bring in some more of the Thakurain's story. I hope we don't get too much of Kaakisa though ... she's a good actress, but too much of her histrionics gets over the top. I prefer the Thakur and Thakurain ... Thakur is much more subtle a villain, and with last night's episode, he suddenly developed some interesting shades.

    2. Dia,

I am so glad you noticed it too, I saw the episode the second time and felt Rudra when he walked out of Sunehri's room and was having flashbacks did not seem very panicked. There was no urgency in his walk or body language, it seemed like he was more irritated than panicked.

It is getting rather irritating to be labelled a blind fan if you appreciate a popular actress but objective when going overboard praising other actors.

    3. These so called intellectual critics started leaving me with such a bad taste that I skip their comments totally. Sanaya is an amazing actress and she totally embodies each and every character she has played - she deserves all the success and accolades that come her way and more!
I am glad they have so many more sub-plots and fine actors on board - much, much more for the Creatives to explore that Ashish's illness should not prove to be a handicap. The Thakurain's story seems to be interesting and a track they have already started. Mohini Kaki seems to have engineered her sister's ouster and lives in delusional glee that Mala is begging on the streets. She is going to be sooo disappointed that she went on to marry a Raja, no less, who does care for his wife tremendously. I like the way they are unfolding Thakur and Thakurain's story slowly.

    4. Exactly! The point is that Sanaya is a very fine actress, that is precisely WHY she is popular with her fans as well as with the makers and channels. I have no personal relationship with Sanaya, I am her fan because I like her acting ... not the other way around.

Anyway, agree with you both, I'm not bothered in the least about Ashish's absence ... we know it's for a reason, we know he will try to get back as soon as he is well enough ... and there are enough plots and sub-plots in the show that the cvs can keep going for a week or two. If they use this chance to showcase more of Paro's emotions, her flashbacks, her despair and loneliness, it will be good ... for the show as well. Like I keep saying, they HAVE to make the viewers connect to the heroine's emotions and feelings, if they want the TRPs to improve.

Aki, very true ... Mohini probably thinks exactly that ... that Mala is leading a life of shame and poverty on the streets ... not that she is the 'wife' of the Raja Thakur with whom she is busy plotting. It will be interesting to see what the Thakur does now ... his love for his wife is under test here, and somehow I don't think it's stronger than his love for himself. But let's see ... he was painted completely black at the start ... and suddenly he is turning a shade lighter ... that is a very unusual twist!

  2. Not so long ago, we were applauding the PH for having created a month's bank of episodes; unlike IPKKND where the story was jerked around mercilessly to fit an actor's holiday schedule, etc., RR was going to escape that fate. What happened?

Best wishes to Ashish for a speedy recovery

    1. The story at this point was mostly revolving around Rudra- his court martial, his mom coming back, his mistress threatening him, his Kakisa challenging and now his nemesis Thakur attacking him. With Ashish on leave creatives will be forced to pay a bit more attention to the other lead and characters. Anyway poor chap did not ask to be ill, hope he gains his strength fast.

    2. Yes, I also wonder about that ... till almost a week back, the SBS segments showed scenes which were aired at least a few episodes ahead, not the very next day. The last couple of SBS's have shown scenes which aired the next day, so either the bank is exhausted, or they had to tweak the story for TRPs.

I won't miss Ashish very much ... while he's a very good actor, the other actors are very good as well ... my main attraction for Ashish is his scenes with Paro. The scenes with Kaakisa and his constant tashan with her are beginning to pall. And I like watching Paro with Maithili, Sumer with Kaaki, all the other actors. Plus I don't like Laila ... neither the actor, nor the character. So let Ashish take rest and get well properly .. I think the other actors can carry the show just fine in his absence.
