20/3 - Epi 59 ... Parvati Bani Durga!

Thursday 20th March

Best scene was of course the last scene ... Parvati bani Durga! As the full force of the betrayal sinks in ... betrayal over the years ... betrayal not only of herself, but of her loved ones, her parents, her sister, her friend, betrayal of all the seventeen girls chosen for the baraat ... in a surprisingly long Q&A session between Paro and Thakursa. Surprising because he allowed her to ask so many questions, and even more surprising that he answered them all ... gloating about his pride and his family honour as he spoke. That could be because Tejawat is a megalomaniac. He certainly seemed a little unhinged as he spoke, firmly mired in his own past glory and that of his family, all sacrifice is for the greater good ... and a horrified Paro listens as he recounts with great pride, all his achievements in killing Paro's parents, Bindi, the trade of the girls across the border and their fate ... the fate which Paro narrowly escaped ...
Now she knows it all, so of course she has to die. But since she is the favourite of his beloved Thakurain, he will make sure her death is as painless as possible.

But Paro isn't ready for that yet. Unfortunately for Tejawat, her stint away from Birpur has taught her a few things ... keeping her head and fighting back in a desperate situation is one of them, wielding a danda is another. And as realisation dawns that Rudra was indeed her protector all along, she draws strength from his rudraksha entangled with hers ... her Bholenath has sent his protection after all.

Mirchi powder is a powerful weapon indeed. It incapacitates the attacker long enough and severely enough to give the victim either time to run away, ... or if she is angry enough, the time to find another, equally effective weapon ... like the danda.
Mirch Masala and Gulab Gang combined ... Parvati bani Durga!!!

In earlier scenes, Dilsher is admitted to hospital with severe smoke inhalation and slips into coma ... Rudra revives for long enough to catch Paro's hand in a last desperate attempt to make her stay ... only resulting in handing over his rudraksha to her for extra protection ... Aman reassures Rudra that they have enough evidence to avoid his court martial. And Rudra takes off in pursuit of Paro ... his only thought for her safety.

In the precap ... Paro, not satisfied with mirchi powder, moves to her newly acquired weapon skill ... the danda!

  1. I hope paro won't spend another 15 episodes in this shaadi ka joda #2 now as a prisoner of Tjawat

    1. she should stick to casuals, everytime she wears a bridal lehenga, marriage is a farce or does not happen, she is held captive and taken away...

    2. That has been my biggest fear ever since she donned these clothes! I'm already waiting for her to get out of them.

Next shaadi ... jeans and Tshirt, that's it. Or maximum concession - simple lehnga choli and no jewelry! :))) Wearing a bridal outfit is asking for trouble for Paro!

  2. In her new avatar, she is unlikely to become Tejawat's prisoner; more likely Rudra's ever so willing captive (much to Kaki Sa's dismay).

    Looking forward to tonight's epi!

    1. Aki, I am hoping Rudra does not MU her, it would be a refreshing change when the whole family is against her, he tells them, Nope I believe her the hell with you guys, he might even make her stay with him in BSD quarters.....err...more privacy that way

    2. Shwetha, I so wish your words come true.....sigh.....par soap ki duniya hai............aur MU unki buniyad................Let's see what's in store next.

I am going to miss Thakursa's dimpled smile, handlebar mustache and dancing eyebrows....pity, they disclosed his villainous deeds so soon. I absolutely loved his screen presence and especially his contribution to the larger than life story line. The kitchen politics is so dreadfully boring that even KakicumMamiSa cannot totally salvage it with her zingers. :(((

    3. Aki, he'll be back soon ... he's taking a break for a month, that's all. Soap ki duniya badi haseen hai ... log aate jaate rehte hain :)

I'm with you on Mohini kaaki ... as single villain, I can't take her for too long. Especially if Rudra Paro get married ... it will become all kitchen politics and trying to show down the bahu enough to get her to leave.

  3. Best episode ever...

Loved paro, so glad that they did not go the damsel in distress route and went with the DAMSEL WITH DANDA route...

Rudra in future will think twice before taking panga with paro post marriage, he wouldnt want to be dandafiied like Tejavat. By the way, can Rudra plz se her danda act?

If he ever doubts her loyalty, he can tell himself, mujhay toh ek hi pada, she is capable of much more...

I want to buy the invisible danda bag which paro carries with her all the time, bas bol diya...

    Mu cleared so fast, wow..,.

I hope Rudra will not Mu her on dilsher...that would be refreshing. I believe her, even if you all don't.

Tomorrow, looking forward to Danda and PARUD HUGGG.,..,

    Song dedication:

    TEJAVAT

Main toh rastay pay jaa raha tha
Main toh goli chala raha tha
    (Hayee) Mujhay mirchi lagi
    Ab main kya karoon?

    PARO

Main toh shaadi racha rahi thi
Sabko danday say maar rahi thi
    Tujhko mirchi lagi toh
    Main kya karoon?

    RUDRA

Main toh shaadi racha raha tha
Main toh idhar udhar bhaag raha tha
(Honaywali) biwi kay danday kha raha tha
    Tujhko mirchi lagi toh
    Main kya karoon?

With her dandas ... and her poetry ... double bonus!!! :)))

Loved Danda Bai today ... I'm equally thrilled the cvs went this way! Much more suitable for Parvati ... Shakti ... then being damsel in distress.

  4. Dia, Beautifully written. She was indeed Durga and it is fantastic to see a truly strong character who does not indulge in faltu draamaybaazi and dialoguebaazi.

Have to give it to Rudra atleast here, he didn't for one second MU her, understood where she was coming from with regards to her adopted so called father figure....

Let us see if that thing holds when it comes to his own father.

Waisay, It would be fantastic if Rudra reaches there worriedly muttering to himself, hope she is fine, pata nahin kya haal kar diya hoga Tejavat nay uska

(Added bonus if Aman also reaches the point) and is about to scream Paro seeing Tejavat's car and has his Rajasthani WT* moment and sees the Danda avataar of Paro....

Aman cheekily saying, Sir you will have to be careful with her in future and gets a glare from Rudra..

Oh while beating up Thakur if he overhears Paro what she has to say about betrayal of her and her village and how she let down Rudra, that would be awesome.

Enough bak bak for now, I think:)

    1. That would be truly awsome!
"Aman cheekily saying, Sir you will have to be careful with her in future and gets a glare from Rudra.."
I already imagined how Rudra would stare and say "Ammaaan!" (Just like how he said "Laila" during Hadli Shower Scene)

    2. Lol ... I can just imagine Aman saying that ... as it is, he thinks his boss has lost it with the whole marriage idea .. after today, when Rudra was least bothered about guns and cash and captured bad guys, his full focus was on Paro ... am sure Aman is already chortling somewhere!

  6. Rudra had slowly begun to believe that Paro is misinformed not disloyal so his actions recently were more in line with that belief. However with the added complication of the dilsher matter, wonder how he will react? For the story to have a greater life, it is obvious Rudra has to retreat into shell so an MU is in order...becos if there is no confusion all that remains is for them to kiss and make up....obv dilli ab bhi door hain

    1. Rekhs, Rudra recognizes the extent to which she and the villagers have been brainwashed hence it was far easier for him to ignore the fact that she dandafied him. If he thinks back eventually she has always taken well care of his dad, his extended family and him too with the lep and what not....So he will have to think, is she really capable of doing that or did he push her to the edge that she had to resort to it. It is his father and he can be emotionally blinded for sometime.

I don't know how much of a MU they can afford to bring in now keeping the TRP in mind. It can be even if he suspects her, he won't admit to his extended family till he has sufficient proof. So it can be united front in public and warring in private.

Also now the question is why should Paro stay with Rudra?

If she goes back will the village disown her for real for betraying Thakur and she has nowhere to go. Rudra is then forced to bring her back OR will it accept her in that case a brief separation where both can sort their feelings for each other.

    2. But Rudra cant believe Mohini! He knows she is a chalaak lomri...and there is no reason for Paro to harm Dilsher....hoping for PaRud Vs Mohini-Tejavat...

      Delete
    3. Rudra should not believe Mohini ... but he is emotionally unstable and very impulsive ... plus, there is proof in the shape of Sunehri, who loves Paro, and saw the maid, she's not a biased witness like Mohini. So Rudra will have to fight hard for Paro ... insist that she is not capable of doing such a thing ... or even if he does suspect her, he will have to protect her in public and be suspicious in private. Unless he flies off the handle and believes it is her ... which will be a little unbelievable ... considering he doesn't even hold it against her for going off with Tejawat.

I am more concerned with whether there will be a wedding, and if so, why? The wedding was for the court martial, now there is no threat of court martial, and Paro will sign any paper they want ... logically there is no reason for the wedding. If Rudra marries her to punish her for trying to burn his father, that will be a bit too farfetched ... but that has never stopped hate marriages so pata nahin!

What I would like is Paro goes first to BSD HQ to testify against Tejawat, and then she goes to Mala thakurain and Rudra wants her to come back ... for any reason ... to care for his father or something ... that brings the Rudra's mother track in as well.
