25/3 - EPi 62 ... Paro the Nurturer, Rudra the Pro... the baby

Tuesday 25th March

Paro the Nurturer has complete faith in Rudra the Protector.

Rudra the protector, is currently Rudra the baby. She needs to bring him up, to return to the man he once was, before he can protect her again.

Today I liked that they gave all the scenes of yesterday a good closure before moving on to the next. The scenes had a much better flow.

First, Rudra's shock at seeing his mother's picture ... a shock he barely manages to conceal in front of Aman ... just managing to get out of the Tejawat haveli ... barely ... before he gets a phone call from the hospital.

The Paro maamisa meeting ...  the talk about mamisa disowning Paro in front of the village, Tejawat being the villain and the missing girls, including mamisa's daughter, Nandu ... and Paro's firm conviction that Rudra will bring all the girls back. He is the Protector, after all.
Followed by Paro's meeting with CO Singh, his repeated offer of security somewhere else, in the face of Rudra's obvious reluctance ... though I would love to see Rudra's reaction if Paro was assigned another safe house ;)
And Paro repeats with complete confidence ... Rudra is her protector. She will stay with him and no one else. She is safer with him than with a battalion of soldiers.

Rudra the protector is currently Rudra the child. At his father's bedside, he is told his father has gone into coma. And he doesn't know whether to cry, to rage or to break down. Whom can he tell about the discovery he just made? The whereabouts of the woman who left him and his father emotionally crippled fifteen years ago ... only to land up with his biggest enemy? She left him, she left his father ... and now his father is threatening to leave him ... Rudra feels the sense of abandonment and loss all over again ... and he's scared ... very, very scared. He doesn't want to be alone. What a discovery to make ... and what a time to make it.

Paro waits patiently at the BSD office ... Aman tells her to go home, but she refuses. And she asks him, does he also believe she is guilty? Aman doesn't answer. So Parvati adopts him as her brother.
Rudra returns to the office, Aman leaves and Paro waits again. Till Rudra drinks himself silly and falls all over the place ... an unconscious call for help ... for sympathy, for comfort ... on one of the worst days of his life. Rudra the child is now Rudra the baby ... a very scared, fearful, trembling terrified baby ... abandoned by his mother, and terrified of losing his sole remaining parent.

And Paro the Nurturer is there ... to hold, to comfort, to soothe ... to heal ... to listen to a stumbling monologue of pain, a muffled plea for help ... a cry from the heart not to be left alone. And she listens ... and stays... stays close. Holds him when he stumbles and falls, steadies him when he slips, feeds him, quenches his thirst. And promises not to leave him. Fills the role of a mother ... holding Rudra, feeding him, and finally letting him slump to sleep in her lap ... letting him feel the love and care he missed for so many years. Paro the Nurturer.

So many role reversals today ...
Paro feeding Rudra, the way he had once fed her.
The hand clasp against the mirror ... it seemed that Rudra drew comfort from that invisible hand across the glass wall.
Paro bandaging Rudra's hand tenderly, the way he once tended her sprained foot.

Precap ... Rudra doesn't seem angry about the previous night ... but the new problem. His mother is Paro's adopted Thakurain maasa?

  1. BSD is a fictional force.

    Thank God!

You see, when you are expected to catch a supposed criminal, you are not taught or expected to keep any sort of surveillance or background check on the suspect.........case in point - how rudra managed Tejavat's case.

Want further proof, you are taught how a gun looks like, you are never taught whether it is asli or nakli........case in point - aman.

They believe in one thing - experience teaches everything.

Dimaag par zyaada zor nahin in BSD plus the perks include finding your soulmate, new sister etc....

    BSD Rocks!!!

Rudra makes a run for it as the phone call reminded him that Paro, THE Khoobsoorat aurat who left him, hit him, came back to him, for him and has emphatically declared that she will stay with him forever is Waiting for him.

Why didn't he take the car in which they came in you ask?

Well, in his current state he knows he is not in a position to drive and he does not trust Aman's driving.

He believes Aman will follow speed limits and will rather let the camels pass than overtake them, he is a PETA member you see....

Rudra comes running to the hospital and informs his Dad, I found your wife, hang in there as I have to go and find mine. Take care...

Rudra comes to office, is happy she is still there and downs a bottle, breaks glasses and does all drama and nautanki as he knows post marriage uski kuch nahin chalegi and if he does not behave, he is going to get the Danda..

Mujhay chod kar mat jaao (Paro)...

    Ulta Decoding

No, Paro don't leave me to get that BSD Canteen Food, I hate it.

She assures him, she will return with the food and khilao him so pyaar say that he will not register the taste.

Afterall she has enough experience in khilaofying jalebi to a diabetic patient in a show that shall not be named.

I only liked the last part, rest I found it very boring, maybe cos I had one of those bakwas AD days....

I am glad that Rudra seems to be back.

If people can complain Paro cried all the time when she had valid reasons to, I am going to complain Rudra cries all the time and yes he has valid reasons to.

I love this Paro and want the initial choodileela wala shaatir dimaag Rudra back, ENOUGHHHHHHHHHHH OF RONDU RUDRA!!!!

    2. ROFL ... Rondu Rudra it is ... although I did feel bad for the poor guy today ... but seriously ... KITNA ROTA HAI YEH BANDA!!!!

Okay, the episode was worth watching for Sanaya's expressions all through ... she rocked it. Especially the part when Rudra falls all over her in that hug, and her eyes go big, as though 'what the he** ...?' then she calmly proceeds to take care of him as though she's been taking care of drunk men all her life. The way she feeds him, takes care of him, so gently, tenderly ... the full translation of Paro the Nurturer in her eyes, her expressions, her actions.

Sanz was fabulous yesterday, I really liked the last part when he stops and asks her not to go, till then all the head chakraofying, tallying, was a bit mehhhhhhh....

Dia: Beautiful take. I am totally in love with Paro and her inner strength and patience.

    4. And Ashish has a major SRK- Amitabh Bachhan hangover in the drunk scenes ... he needs to stop hamming in his solo scenes. He was much better once Paro entered the picture.

    5. That hangover has been there since haldi after you love paro revelation by Laila episode. From the way he stumbled in to the whole episode, maybe that explains why I am finding it tough to connect with Rudra's character. Earlier he was Ashish playing Rudra, now SRK is entry maaring and nope, IT ain't working for me.

    6. They need to get back to the strong Rudra ... this cry baby isn't working for me either. The problem is he's had too many breakdowns already ... this one is warranted, but it didn't touch me as much as it should have. Or rather, Ashish's acting didn't touch me as much as it should have ... when I think about the circumstances Rudra is in, I can connect with his pain ... but watching him stumble around like a bad version of Amitabh Bacchan or SRK does not do it. Once Paro entered the scene, and Rudra calmed down, then he worked better ... even then the first few minutes when he told her to go, were OTT.

I am beginning to agree with some of the reviews which said that Ashish has the same expressions all the time ... I hope he picks up. He has to be more subtle ... he has started hamming. I hope not another case of all the praise going to his head ... till now, he's not tasted the kind of success and recognition that Rudra has brought him.

    7. Aki, watch it ... Sanaya was awesome, and Paro's character is emerging beautifully.
