Did they or didn't they? ;)
The controversial episode of Sajan ... did they or didn't they pre-empt their wedding night?
At first look, it seems they did. They had just committed to each other yet again, this time to formalise what they both knew was a lifelong committment, Gunjan gave her unspoken consent to Sam to move beyond their first date, and they ended up pretty close and passionate. But morning after, Gunjan had no regrets at all, and although in a way, it showed how secure and sure she was about her relationship, after thinking again, for a very moral person like her, it seems a little strange. Which made me, while I was watching the episode, pretty sure nothing had happened. Then everyone seemed to think it had, so okay, I could justify it very easily - Sajan are the most committed couple ever, and for them to take such a step wasn't really so out of character.
But looking back, Gunjan ended up in a kurta at the farmhouse too, which made it look like something major had happened, whereas nothing had, not even a kiss. And she changed after spilling a few drops of wine. Here her clothes were soaked, she was in a strange house, couldn't exactly borrow clothes as well ... she might just as well have used the sheets for a far more innocent purpose, besides she trusts Samrat more than life, she would know he would do nothing ... BUT NOTHING ... without her consent.
So it's actually pretty much upto the imagination whether they did anything or not. And after seeing them in the next two episodes, and how normally they're behaving, I'm having doubts again. Cv's have left it cleverly to the imagination, and we can draw whatever conclusions we like. If the reactions had been as violent as PBM, maybe a CV might have come here too, to clarify that "they just kissed". But most Sajan fans seem pretty tolerant of their favourite couple's shenanigans - we love them anyway!!!
So UNLESS Gunji gets pregnant, we might never know ... did they or didn't they. And actually, we don't really care. They love each other, they're committed to each other for life, they're two consenting adults - it's really their own business. Everyone's morals are their own concern, and to show something like this in an urban youth TV show is not so out of the blue. As for kids watching, their morals are their parents' concern, not the CV's ... no kids in my house under the age of 14 would be allowed to watch a college based show. Those are my personal morals and rules which apply in my house - I don't make rules for the whole world.

Now they recover old MJHT!!!!
27th May episode
jewelry shop - Samrat's engagement ring is gone, he is most upset, this is bad luck. This is my kismet, whatever I like, goes away from me. Benji goes, since when have you started believing in all this. Samrat says - since I realised what it would be like to lose Gunjan ... shit, shit, shit. Looks up at his dude - first time, I fell in love, want to marry her, and at the first step, defeat? He storms off.
First time using sense, he goes to Gunjan. She's waiting, pacing up and down, where's he gone ... Nups wants to tease. Samrat comes in foul mood, before Gunjan can ask what's happening, Nups intervenes. Cute Sajan Nups scene ... Sam solves the problem of kabab mein haddi by saying I'll take kabab, haddi and all. Haddi runs away :) Gunjan says, now keep your heart right here, no wandering here and there. Sam's mood much better.
Hilarious MN scene ... why oh why do they make Mayank such a joker? He was supposed to be the sensible one! Having a filmy wife has cost him his brains!
SG in canteen - Gunjan again asks, what's wrong. Sam says, ok, you're asking like a wife, so I'll reply like a husband ... *sigh* Haven't even gotten officailly engaged and they're about as married as they could be! Sam is superstitious, doesn't want anything to go wrong before or after their engagement, wants everything perfect.
Nups Ben Dia Uday - Nups does her second good deed for the day, goes to reclaim Samrat's - and Gunjan's - ring. Does her usual nautanki by sacrificing her husband ... voh bechara toh already halal ho gaya hai! Mrs. D'Mello gives ring back - she obviously watches as many movies as Nups does.
SG canteen contd ... Gunjan reassures Samrat, there's no such thing as good luck, shagun, we make them in our minds. We're together, we're happy, that's all that's important. And we will never part.
Neil's voice - Gunjan.
Is he going to stay on in the new season?
More like a farewell scene, though - Gunjan says sorry, I can't be a part of your story. Neil says, some stories are not meant to be, I just didn't see the signs. Returns Samrat's cheque.
Even if he comes back in season 2, it seems unlikely that he will re-enter Gunjan's life as any more than a friend. But he was a great cameo and a great character. Nicely done scene - Samrat stayed in the background, and Gunjan faced Neil.
SG watch him go, and feel his pain. Gunjan promises again that she will never leave Samrat. He asks, even in spite of the loss of a perfect engagement ring. She shows him the ring he gave her when he proposed - that's the perfect ring for her, because it's the very first one he gave her.
precap - Nups sees Mayank having an accident.
More pointers to Mayank today - think the cv's are playing rounders! But honestly, what is left in the MN story? They have become just supporting characters for SG. Will miss the trio, though ... without them MJHT will seem strange.

Who will it be?
An accident in which one dies and changes the lives of all the four.
Gunjan - in my reckoning, least likely. If she dies, no repurcussions of their night together. Sam will be devastated, will probably lose his mental balance, if he doesn't kill himself. If he feels himself responsible for her death, he WILL probably kill himself. Mayank and Nupur will be grieved, but they will carry on with their individual plans, as no one has to take care of Samrat, he's not their responsibility. If Nupur blames Samrat, major issues between Samrat and MN, and distances. MN finish their respective courses, return after leap ... what issues between them and Samrat? Samrat will probably have retired deep within himself ... or become a playboy again with a vengeance, thinking that he is destined to be alone. They try to reform him - maybe enter Sanaya in a new avatar?
Samrat - the most cliched and hackneyed option, so could be possible. Or not - CV's have actually avoided a lot of cliches for SG. But the most cliched - Sam dies, Gunjan pregnant, again two options, MN raise the baby as their own, G lives with Nupur, or G decides to raise the baby alone, knowing her, this one is very likely. Again the impact for Mayank is minimal, for Nupur, slightly more. Unless Mayank gives up the US option and stays back with Nupur and Gunjan - why should he?
Sam dies, Gunjan not pregnant, but devastated, she decides to complete the movie and make her life on her own. That is IF they continue with Neil. Her life changes, impact on MN again is minimal.
After leap, M returns to Nupur, Gunjan settled in some career, with or without child ... this is really not going anywhere. Because Gunjan can handle Sam's death, especially after their night together. That has completed their love story and will be her strength.
Again, can't see much impact on MN here.
But the track is supposed to be a MN track ...
Mayank - maximum impact on Nupur, she continues with her scholarship, SG carry on with their lives, becoming a support system for Nupur. Again if Sam is driving, he feels responsible, and this solidifies his support for Nupur.
Nupur - maximum impact on two people - Mayank and Gunjan. Mayank devastated, and he was more upset than Nupur about the impending separation. He would carry on to the US, and return after the leap.
Impact on SG - especially if again Samrat was driving. Samrat guilt ridden, Gunjan devastated at losing the mother figure in her life. Distances between SG, may lead to separation, if married, would affect their marital life. Samrat would be unable to support Gunjan fully because of his own guilt. Gunjan would be unable to comfort Samrat fully because of her own loss. Major issues here. But this becomes an SG track.
Mayank comes back and tries to get SG back together, he has lost his love, he doesn't want the same thing happening to SG.
Again it's supposed to be an MN track - if one of MN dies, where's the MN track?
So confusion still reigns.
Unless it's not the story that is dictating who dies, but the exit of the characters that is dictating the story ...

26th May
Finally MN get around to telling each other their plans and realise they will separate for two years, M to US and Nups for her scholarship. She leaves in 4 days.
Gang in canteen, SG trying to break their news. No one believes them. Samrat most indignant, why isn't anyone taking us seriously?!
MN in library - Mayank says I think Samrat is telling the truth about getting engaged. Nups wants to confront.
After ages, a cute SG MN scene - M goes first, egged on by his dominating wife. Loses his nerve at last minute, hugs Sam and proclaims he's very happy at the news. Nups glares, takes over. How dare you do this with my innocent sister, Samrat? SG shocked, S shamefaced, 'galti ho gayi.'
And Gunjan- how could you?
G equally red faced.
Mayank - why are you shouting at them? What did they do? We also did the same thing.
SG baffled.
Nups - we didn't do the same thing. Did you propose? No, we straightaway got married.
The relief on SG's faces ...
DUB come up - come on, Sam, who's gonna believe you both are getting married? We all know you and your committment phobia.
CV's are reading not only our discussions, but are picking up our phrases also!
All walk off, Sam is seriously annoyed by now, why does no one believe me?
Gunjan says, I believe you ... and his annoyance melts. You'd better, otherwise mandap will be ready and no bride. Pointer to Gunjan.
Sam goes to convince gang again, takes them to buy a ring.
Gunjan goes to convince Nupur.
Sam forgets wallet, goes back, meets Mayank, Mayank says you guys are made for each other, slams the locker door as Sam leaves, hurts himself, blood on his hand. Pointer to Mayank.
Gunur scene - Nups talks about going away, but always being there for Gunjan. Pointer to Nups.
Photograph of all four breaks - well, we know that!!! That's the only thing we do know!
Sam in shop, someone else has bought his ring. Upset, says this is not a good sign, the first time I fell in love, want to get married, and this happens. Storms off. Pointer to Sam.
Either the CV's are being very clever ... or the CV's are being very clever!

Sajan, symbolism and surrender
25th May episode
First the episode, then the comments
Starts from Samrat proposing in front of the crowd, Gunjan says yes and he slips a little grass ring onto her finger, not an engagement ring, but a perfect round circle. And they exchange vows again - I love you, I love you too. Nothing more - is anything more needed?
Walk on the road, Samrat says, now do you trust my love? and Gunjan says, yes, I trust you absolutely, but why did you jump up on that car, you could have fallen and got hurt. And he says, I've already fallen so deep in love, how much more can I fall! Then he says, but if my love is really true, it will rain ... (he wants a rain song as much as we do!). and Gunjan laughs - it's not going to rain in May!
And of course it does *dreamy look* and they run for shelter, holding hands ...
Find an empty house conveniently close by, and Gunjan says - if you'd asked for anything today, you would have got it. And the look in her eyes says - ask. Samrat says, that's why I asked for you ...
I always said, never leave Sajan alone in a deserted place ...
Zindagi do pal ki, intezar kab tak hum karenge bhala,
tumhe pyaar kab tak na karenge bhala
Dil mein tumhare chupa li hai maine to apni yeh jaan,
Ab tum hi isko sambhalo, humein apna hosh kahan
bekhudi do pal ki, zindagi do pal ki
intezar kab tak hum karenge bhala,
tumhe pyar kab tak na karenge bhala
For me, the line was - tumhe pyaar kab tak na karenge bhala
how long can I hold back from loving you ...
The song ends and the wedding mantras chant in the background as Samrat and Gunjan finally surrender, to themselves and to each other, to the call of heart and soul, a marriage of minds, souls and bodies ... they are already wedded together for all eternity, and they make love as husband and wife, as two souls joining together in complete bliss ...
The morning after ... one of the most sensitively handled scenes I've seen in a long time. No sorry, no regrets, none at all ... they are bonded together for eternity, and she loves him and only him. They have to go back to the real world, but for the moment, this was their time alone, a night stolen from time, a night to seal promises made long ago, many times over.
Symbolism - The scene was adapted from Parineeta, where Lolita throws a chain over Shekhar's neck, he puts it around her neck as wedding mantras chant in the background. And after that, Lolita accepts Shekhar as her husband in her heart. In the original novel and the first movie, that was all, but in the remake with Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan, they consummate to the chant of wedding mantras as Lolita's sister gets married on one of the most auspicious nights of the year.
Here - no garland or chain - it was a ring. Not an engagement ring, this was a round circle, like a wedding band.
- and the love making was again to the chanting of wedding mantras, as beautifully done as in the movie, to symbolise that this was not just a joining of bodies, but a marriage of souls.
- And the last ... both in white, to symbolise that what had happened was not impure, it was indeed as sacred as a marriage ritual, for making love - with love - is as much a sacred part of a marriage as the vows are. And with both in white, one couldn't make out where one ended and the other started ... so complete was their joining.

Samrat proposes ... twice!!!
24th May episode
Sajan at chaistall, cuddled up close ... can these two stay apart anymore? ;) Gunjan says, I was scared of losing you, I thought I'd lost you, what would I have done, where would I have gone?
And Samrat goes down on one knee and says, even I don't want to stay away from you, so will you marry me?
And Gunjan is shocked - are you serious? What, Gunji, just say yes, girl, argue logistics, why, how later!!! :D
Then she asks, why, Samrat? The first time it was because of my wheelchair, now is this because of Neil? Are you afraid that I will go away from you? Because I can never leave you, never. You don't have to marry me.
And Samrat says no, it's not because of that. It's because you taught me what love was all about, and now what marriage will be all about. And now, I want to be with you always, I want to wake up every morning to your face next to me, to see your beautiful eyes gazing into mine, to see you 'sharmaoing' the way you do ...
So tell me ... opening his arms ... will you marry me?
And Gunjan shies away again, going red ... Samrat, not in front of everyone ...
And he says, I don't care if the whole world knows ...
Gunjan runs for her life ... wise girl! Awwwwww, she is such a darling!!!
So she walks on the road, traffic whizzing past, Samrat following her, a big grin on his face, he knows his answer, if she can stop blushing long enough to say yes. Then he decides to speed things up, jumps on top of a car and proclaims loudly to the world - I love this girl, Samrat Shergil loves Gunjan Bhushan ...
Traffic stops, Gunjan goes redder than a tomato and all the crowd is rooting for Sam, especially as he's doing a great imitation of Dharmendra ... this girl has driven me crazy in her love, and I won't come down till she says yes ... and if she does, I'm ready to marry her right now!
Crowd rooting for Samrat all the way, Gunjan gives up her blushes ... all right, I'll marry you, can you please come down?!
So he does, and puts a silly little grass ring on her finger, and they hug again ... BLISS!!!
In the middle, MN fight and make up, turns out Nups wanted Mayank not to sign the divorce papers as a proof of his love or some such thing ... random tantrums, random phera talk ... who writes their dialogues? Or do they copy them from random films? or K serials?
Precap - Sajan in the rain ... I don't believe this, I asked for Zindagi just a couple of days ago!!! *sigh*
(MN have their tenth suhaag raat alongside ... if they don't die, would be interesting how many more they have - might set a record for a TV show)

Reunion and the chaistall - full circle
21st May
Have to hand it to the CV's ... Sajan's love story is so meaningful and real that every girl and guy watching it would dream for and hope for a love story like that in their own lives.
A humble roadside chaistall ... the scene of Sajan's first reunion, after their bitterest fight as friends, when they came back together in friendship, a friendship which was forged so strong by their first breakup that thereafter it never broke again, even in spite of their attemps to break it for whatever reasons.
And now, another humble roadside chaistall is the scene of their second reunion, after their bitterest fight as lovers, a fight in which Gunjan again told him to go away from her, only to realise that she couldn't live without him, and came running after him. And Samrat tried to obey her, for once he tried to go away ... for her sake, this time, but it took one look from her, her sheer presence, and as always, they didn't need words to show what was in their hearts. They are incomplete without each other, they can't live without each other, however much they might fight, it takes almost nothing to get them back together. Ego, hurt feelings, have no place in their relationship ... it's only love, love which makes them lash out at each other, and love which knows that however much they go apart, they can never be apart.
And again the most beautiful part of their relationship ... communication. But only after they're back together, after they're where they belong - in each others' arms, once they know they are complete again. Then is the time to talk, to spill out whatever is in their hearts, for her to say sorry, for him to wipe her tears ... just being together, talking to each other, and everything's gonna be all right.
And this part went exactly the way I'd hoped and wanted - Gunjan giving up everything because Samrat is the only one she cannot, will not lose, everything else is secondary. And that's it for Samrat - she came back from near death for him, and now she's come back from a new life for him, because she cannot embrace anything new without him ... she is his and his alone, and finally he can believe it, can believe that there is someone for him, and he will never be lonely again.
And finally - he proposes ... on a lonely road, next to a humble chaistall. Full circle. Life is complete.

Making Amends
20th May episode
Samrat - for him, it's more appropriate to say - growing up and making amends. Realising the truth of that sardarji's wisdom and the old saying - if you love someone, set them free. If she come back to you, she's yours. If she doesn't, she never was.
And today, he's going through the very painful process of setting her free, to soar in the sky. He made a mistake, and he's paying for it. What the payment is exactly, we don't know yet. Has his mother extracted her pound of flesh in return for the money? Or is it just the cutting of those ties to Chashmish, the ties that have been his lifeline for the last one and a half years? Hoping that she doesn't need those strings any more, because home for her, is him.
He's grown up. Learnt that there are consequences of actions, and you have to bear those consequences. And that making amends can hurt.
Neil: the most interesting cameo is MJHT for a long time. I spent most of this track wondering whether he was positive or negative, white or grey. And realised that he was neither. He was just human. and human beings are not white of black. Human beings make mistakes, and if they're responsible, mature people, they try to make amends for those mistakes.
Loving Gunjan wasn't a mistake. Following her, making a movie with her probably wasn't a mistake either, it was a dream, a goal, and a means of attaining that goal. Neil's mistake was his inability to step out of the way when he realised that Gunjan was committed to another, his inability to be completely unselfish about her love, and his attempt to play God in the Sajan relationship.
His first mistake was to tell Samrat about his love for Gunjan. Whether it was out of frustration, anger, the frustration that Samrat, whom he felt was not as worthy, as deserving of Gunjan's love as he was, whether it was frustration that he had spent years trying to reach Gunjan, make himself worthy of her, only to find that someone so different from Gunjan had already walked away with the prize, someone whom he couldn't help thinking might not be right for her.
His second mistake was then to not tell Samrat Gunjan's whereabouts. If he had been as altruistic as he claimed to be, if he really stepped out of the way of their love story, he should have not tried to change the course of events. They were blissfully happy together before he came, he tried to separate them because he felt they both needed the space - Samrat to grow up, and Gunjan because he saw her getting disturbed and upset at Samrat's behaviour. But that was what he felt - it was not necessarily the truth. Samrat Gunjan's relationship was based on communication - cut off their communication, and they have problems.
So Neil was not just a catalyst in the Samrat Gunjan story. He was a deeply involved reactant, he set off a chain of events which culminated in an explosion. But at the end of the day, he was human. In spite of trying his best, he made mistakes.
And now, he's making amends. Samrat told him not to tell Gunjan about the financing. That was Samrat's sacrifice. Neil told Gunjan. That was his.
Not much of a sacrifice, she was never his to sacrifice, in spite of whatever faint hopes he might have had. And Neil, being a realist, and an intelligent human being, knew that he had no hope with Gunjan. Especially when she walked out of the movie.
Gunjan - she's not perfect. Close to it, but not quite. She made her share of mistakes. She took up the movie because of others, her sister and mostly Samrat. And to find herself. She wavered at the start, but then once committed, she gave it her best. Because that's the way she is. Single minded when it comes to work. And for the first time, trying to find a balance between professional and personal life, to do justice to both, tough when she had a possessive, insecure boyfriend on one side and an equally possessive, committed boss on the other side, and a multi-crore budget and other people's livelihoods to justify (where exactly that money went is still a mystery to me).
Her mistake? Being too trusting, too naive. Maybe taking Samrat and their relationship for granted, thinking it to be her strength, not realising that even the strongest relationships need to be worked on when circumstances change. Her utter trust in Neil, her inability to see his feelings. Not entirely her fault, because he hid them well, he knew what would happen if he didn't. And her blaming Samrat for the whole fiasco - the journalist had a lot to do with it as well, which everyone seems to have forgotten, Neil included. (another mystery - a film being shelved because of one gossip article? Oh well, creative liberty).
And Gunjan's amends - she walked out of the movie. In other words, she chose Samrat. Once she realised where he was coming from, why he had done what he did, and how tangled relationships were becoming, had already become, she cut the knot and walked out. Because for her, at the end of the day, Samrat IS the most important. People's livelihoods were important, so she tried to manage what she thought were Samrat's immaturity and his possessiveness. But Neil's feelings altered the whole equation and she was not willing to put her relationship with Samrat to that risk. She knows Sam's insecurities - none better than her. And their roots.
Gunjan will go after Samrat now. Because she knows he's tried his best to make amends in the most painful way for him - by releasing her, by letting go of his possessiveness. And when she finds him, he will know that she truly has come home. Because he doesn't need to hold her close to him any more. She is and always will be, close to him, in his heart, and he in hers.
I can see two endings - I'm listing only the happy ones. One - Gunjan finds Samrat, tells him of her decision, and they both walk blissfully hand in hand into the sunset.
Two, Gunjan finds Samrat, tells him of her decison and her choice, and he asks her to go back and fulfill her commitment and he will wait for her.
The romantic in me wants the first, the realist and practical me would like the second, which would also complete the growing up process for both of them. But either way - like ALL Sajanians, I want, no, make that, I NEED a happy ending! Before the next set of problems start.

Ripped Apart and hurting
19th May episode
Samrat can't believe what has happened because of him. He calls Mayank, who says, fix it - get the film moving again.
Samrat goes to Neil, apologises, begs him, tell me what to do, I'll do it. Neil says, I need 5 crores, can you arrange it? Sam shocked.
Benji confesses to Dia.
Sam again tense and agitated, calls an uncle and asks for help. Uncle refuses and says, if parents don't support their kids, why will anyone else support you?
Poor Sam!!! Poor vulnerable, lonely Sam! Gunjan, don't do this to him, he needs you.
Samrat sees Gunjan ... SG. She's in tears, asks him, why did you do this? This is not the Samrat I know. He tells her, only to find you. She - why was it so urgent that you find me? He - because you were here with Neil ... he stops.
She misunderstands ... did he not trust her with Neil? Did he not trust her love?
And he can't tell her ... he can't tell her Neil's feelings - they were given in confidence, and will she even believe him? So he's silent, and she tells him to leave - again.
He goes.
They break my heart, this couple. So deeply in love, yet ripped apart and hurting every step of the way.
Gunjan wonders what Samrat was saying> Why was he accusing Neil? Of what? She goes to Neil's office - maybe she'll get an answer there.
And she sees Neil watching his laptop, telling the girl he loves that he's lost everything, everything he came here for, including her.
He leaves and Gunjan opens his laptop and sees herself. She is Neil's dream? his love?
Samrat thinks again, what should he do? What can he do? Mayank calls, tells him to leave aside his ego (now that got a smile out of me!), and not think of stupid things like donating kidneys, racing, gambling etc. Samrat thinks of his mother. But he hasn't spoken to her for years. And now ...?
Flashbacks ... heartbreaking ones. I hate my family, Gunjan. Don't talk about our mother, Suhani. The divorce. Being ripped apart. As he's being ripped apart again.
Did the Cv's read my FF? Or did they finally realise the gold nugget in Sam's story?
Samrat sees Gunjan walk by, shattered. And for her, for his Chashmish and his love for her, he swallows his hatred and calls his mother.
Precap - Gunjan confronts Neil - did you do all this because you loved me?
Sam decides to leave ... give Gunjan her space, not force her into anything. Oh Sam, don't you know, one phrase from you and she'll turn her back on everything and come running to you? Space, career, everything forgotten? Just that one phrase - marry me.
The options as I see them, depending on whether this track is going to have a happy or sad ending.
One, Sam finds the finance, Gunjan walks out of the movie, finds Sam, finds out what he's done, goes back to the movie only for him. Leap - end of movie, and she turns her back on everything and comes back to Samrat.
Two, Sam finds the finance, goes off to London to his mother, Gunjan does the movie for him and waits for him to come back. Rumors about her and Neil, but she's waiting only for Samrat, knowing he will come back, he has to come back.
Three, After finding out about Neil's love, Gunjan realises why Samrat did what he did, goes to find him. Will she find him or not - again, either one of the above could take place. If she finds him, maybe an end to the movie for her, movie is shelved and stays shelved, Samrat has had a growing experience ... somewhat, but not very satisfactory all told. Which is why it might come true - a half baked ending as usual. But we get Sajan back together - seeing them apart is becoming more and more painful.

Misunderstandings deepen
18th May episode
Samrat Gunjan - Gunjan in tears, her reputation is in shreds, he says, I never said anything like this, but the journalist tricked me. Gunjan says, how could you disclose our personal lives to a journalist, why did you?
Because I wanted to know where you were shooting.
And he knows it's stupid, it's lame, it's inexcusable.
And Gunjan can't believe it - you did this, what did you want to prove? That I belong to you, your right over me, no one else should come near me? harsh words, but it's her reputation that's been destroyed, and her trust in her Samrat.
She goes to talk to Neil, he's distraught, the financers have withdrawn their backing because the lead heroine's reputation is ruined. She says, get a new heroine, Neil says no. It's over, the film is shelved. she says, this is all Samrat's fault, he says, no, don't blame anyone for it.
Mayank trying to find Nupur, sends song request.
Samrat pataos prod assistant, arranges cake and flowers, Gunjan comes and blasts Sam - the film is shelved because of you and your antics. Go away from here.
Poor Samrat - he needed this, needs to see the consequences of his actions, but who would have dreamt this would happen?
And again, I'm left wondering - is Neil really as straightforward as he seems? Shelving the film? His career finished? Because of the rumor of an affair? Isn't that rather an extreme response to a simply nasty bit of yellow journalism? Or is he as upset as he seems? and he really had nothing to do with it? His basic decency and Morena roots surfacing and pushing through the veneer of city polish? Just cannot decide.
Precap - Gunjan finds out about Neil's love? Will she?
This track has more twists and is more confusing than any I've seen before! And now I want it to end! Too much brain power required here!

A new start and a shock for Sam
17 May episode
Starts with Samrat on his way on his bike, with a flashback from the "Chhodo, jaane bhi do na, why" song, when he had tried to woo back Gunjan. His bike breaks down and he takes a lift from a friendly Sardar truck driver.
How come Sam always gets the friendly love gurus? First Kulkarni, and now the Sardarji!
Neil introspecting - Gunjan is trying her best, Samrat is trying his best, I will not let anything bad happen to Samrat Gunjan. He apologises to spot boy for losing his temper.
Sardarji, wise man, says - you're not going to win back your love, you're going because you're scared of losing her. Samrat says, I love her very much, that's why I'm scared of losing her. Sardarji tells him - if you love someone, let her soar free, don't tie her to you, and she will come back to you. Samrat asks, and if she doesn't? Sardarji says - then think that she was never yours.
Samrat wonders, am I tying Chashmish down to me? he calls Mayank and tells him, whatever happens, this will be the truth.
Mayank and mangoes - somehow the mangoes make him realise his love for Nupur.
Benji Dia Uday ... cute time pass.
Samrat reaches location, only to find Gunjan in tears and Neil showing her a newspaper. Neil sees him, comes and shouts - what have you done, Samrat? Sam shocked at the article - Gunjan has left Samrat for more successful director Neil Oberoi.
Precap - Gunjan crying - why did you tell all about our personal lives to a reporter? Are you trying to prove that you own me?

Sam on his way to meet Gunjan

MJHT and women today
Women of today and their men
Working women today face many challenges – that of managing work and home, retaining a work-life balance, trying to look after their family responsibilities as well as their work ones, home, husband, children, maybe inlaws … If a man helps his wife at home, he’s a wonderful husband, a supportive man, understanding, etc., etc. And if he’s too busy at work to help much, well, he’s busy, isn’t he, he doesn’t have the time, he’s got responsibilities at work, and his wife should understand that he has a commitment to his work and those responsibilities.
And if a woman is busy at work, and neglects her husband, her home, her family – an immediate outcry ensues – how can she be so insensitive, so uncaring, how can she neglect her home for work, doesn’t she realize that her family needs her etc., etc. Her work commitments are thrust aside, they are less important, because for a woman, home and family should come first – always. That is something that we are all conditioned to believe in, even the most ardent of feminists.
Two scenarios in today’s MJHT
Husband wife in the same field – wife does better, goes ahead of her husband. Husband reacts with anger, hurt ego, male pride … she misled me, I wasn’t able to concentrate because of all the problems at home (mostly self-created, but who cares), she’s selfish, only thinks about herself … and the cream – she never told me she was NOT pregnant. Not once does he think, she achieved this because of her own hard work, and it’s great for us as a couple, because the important thing is that one of us got this scholarship. Not once.
It’s not for nothing that most corporate don’t allow husbands and wives to work in the same office. Office romance is fine, but after marriage, they cite ‘conflict of interest’ and usually transfer one spouse to a different department. Some even have a rule that husband and wife can’t work in the same company. Conflict of interest? I think more likely, they don’t want to be held responsible for marital discord.
Husband wife in different fields – husband (boyfriend in this case, but he’s a committed boyfriend, has repeatedly expressed that their relationship is for life, and I’m paying him the compliment of believing that part) has always been supportive, loved to watch her grow, to shine, to be in the forefront. He has supported her every inch of the way – has pushed her and prodded her, because left to herself, she would never have done half the things she did. He has been a rock solid support and source of strength and encouragement. And slowly, she has emerged from her chrysalis, unfurled her wings, started spreading them slowly … and now she’s ready to take her first flight – solo. And because of the kind of person she is, once she has committed, she has fully committed and will give it her best shot – her 100%. Because it’s not only her who’s involved, it’s a hundred other people, whose livelihoods depend on this. And she recognizes this – is ready to enter the real world, the working world, out from the cocoon of sheltered college life – where if you wanted to back out, you always could. Here she isn’t sheltered any more from the real world. She has to grow even more … her next challenge, this time alone.
And suddenly, the guy who’s been her support system, her biggest strength, changes. Second scenario – not ego, this time, but the inner child in every man. He loves to see her shine, true, but not at his expense. Not at the expense of the pampering, the time, the attention, that is his and his alone … As long as she was with him, 24/7, or at least, there for him whenever HE wanted, whenever HE needed her, things were great, things were perfect. Suddenly, she’s not there … she tries, but it’s physically impossible, there are still only 24 hours in a day – earlier, she could spend 12 of those with him, all her waking hours, but now she can’t. And like a child, he throws a tantrum – I want my Chashmish back. I didn’t know all this would happen, but I don’t like it – take it away and bring my Chashmish back. But this is the first step into the real world – you can’t take this away any more, you can’t back out.
Again a typical male attitude – this one is actually more common these days than the first, with the increase in working women. I love you, I believe in you, of course you can work, honey … but not at MY expense. I still want you to do everything that you always did before for me, because I’m not going to change. And home and family is your responsibility – of course I’ll help you as much as I can. After all, I love you and I’m a heck of a supportive guy.
Still haven’t reached the stage of – it’s OUR responsibility and we’ll manage it together – if you can’t, I understand, and if I can’t, you understand.
Samrat has a reason, centered in his lost, lonely childhood … which is why we all feel sorry for him. But he needs to grow beyond that childhood, beyond that hurt. He needs to stop letting that fear take over his life … because till he faces the demons of his past, he can’t look forward into a future. And the only way Gunjan can help is by making him enter that real world with her, shoulder to shoulder, by showing him that whatever changes come into their lives, they can handle them. College days will not last forever. Real life has to start, and they have to be ready for it.
Some people say that she should leave the movie and go back to Sam. Go back to Sam? She never left him – it’s all in his mind. And if she does that, then this scenario will repeat itself every time she tries to enter the real world and he doesn’t keep pace with her. So that’s definitely not the answer. The only answer is for him to join her. As he led her forward in the past, now she has to hold his hand and lead him.
Episode:
Samrat tells the reporter the Sajan love story, at the same time that Neil delivers Sam's message to Gunjan and she tells him the same story.
Reporter tells Sam that he will have tears in his eyes after reading his own story, and out of earshot, promises that Samrat, Gunjan and Neil will all learn their lesson.
Neil wonders why did he deserve this, would it have been better not to have met gunjan at all, than to have met her and know she is someone else's?
Samrat tries to persuade Mayank to call Nupur. He is ready to leave to find Gunjan.
Neil loses his temper at the shoot, Gunjan tries to calm him.

Sam-Gun tell their love story
Sam gets a wakeup call - and ignores it
13th May episode
Neil Samrat - Samrat shell shocked at Neil's confession. Neil tells him I will still help you because you're the one Gunjan wants, the one she loves and i respect that. Samrat says, just tell me where she is, I need to talk to her. Neil says, I'll tell you, but is this the right time? Shouldn't you stop to think about your relationship? why have these problems arisen between the two of you?
Samrat, if you don't at least start realising now, you are a dhakkan! Why are you insecure? because you know Gunjan is not yours yet - not in the eyes of the world.
Neil says - I will stay in touch with you, when the time is right, I'll call you myself. Till then, think about what I've said. And what Gunjan has said - exactly the same thing, altho' Neil doesn't know that.
Sam says - Neil, tell Gunjan I love her very much and I will love her always.
Mayank in library - irritated with Nupur, she's selfish, wants to win at any cost ... etc., etc. Dude, why did you fall in love with her then?
Samrat tells Benji and Uday that neil loves Gunjan. NOT right, Samrat. A guy told you something in confidence, you blab it out to your dimwitted gang. And sure enough, they all start poisoning him against Neil, he's too serious, he's two-faced etc.
mayank says I don't think Neil is that - he seems straightforward and truthful.
So far so good.
Then Mayank goes into memories of his own road trip and how he fell in love - again, dude, if you were a fool, doesn't mean everyone will be the same.
So Mayank says - in these circumstances, anyone could fall in love. Love is blind. And then the fall comes.
Maybe Neil is not a bad guy, but he's in love, he could manipulate the situation and come closer to Gunjan. Unfortunately Mayank is extrapolating his and Nupur's situation to Samrat's - and ignoring Gunjan's pov completely. And Samrat gets swayed.
Samrat - I love you so much, Gunjan, I can't live away from you. And how can I trust Neil? Whatever happens, I will not let you far from me.
Why doesn't he stop to think that Gunjan too will never want to go far from him? Regardless of any Neil, blue, yellow, green in their lives? For shame Samrat! Is this your trust in Gunjan? when you repeatedly claim that you trust her more than you trust yourself?
More and more i feel this is leading to a Sajan breakup ... and they will get together again when Gunjan does NOT go to Neil in Samrat's place. And that will be her answer to all of Sam's self-doubts - that if not you, Samrat, no one else.
interspersed with Mayank mumbling something about Nupur.
Gunjan tells Nupur she wishes she was in Mumbai with Samrat right now. then she thinks - Samrat, you have realise that if there is no trust and respect in a relationship, that relationship cannot survive. You have to look at all viewpoints, not just your own.
The worst part of the episode - AGAINST his better judgement (he IS learning something from Gunjan, but very slowly), Samrat agrees to call the journalist he punched. And the journo says - give me a scoop on your love story and i'll tell you where she is. AND he adds fuel to the fire, rumors are that the director is fida on his beautiful heroine. and this is an unplanned shoot.
Sam doesn't want to have anything to do with this.
Precap - Sam on his way on his bike, with his guitar and flowers. Oh crap!!!! Did he make that deal? Could he be SOOO brainless?!!!
Gunjan says - voh mera Samrat hai.
Neil in tears - If you couldn't give me my love, fine, but why did you give me this pain? which will last a lifetime?

Sam reacts angrily - why does everyone call me immature? Neil reacts equally angrily - I'm not fond of dishing out unnecessary advice, nor do I care for you so much. It's Gunjan and only Gunjan I care about and if you hadn't been on the scene, I would have been down on my knees ages ago to propose to her, because I love her.
Sam shellshocked.

Gunjan the star - and a shock
11th May episode
Gunjan stops Sam from leaving and tries to talk to him, to make him understand that although she loves him as much as ever, she has made a commitment and cannot back out of it now. They can't spend their lives just loving each other, they have to make their own paths also. And when he was the one who asked her to do the film, why is he not standing by her now?
Upon which Samrat loses it, snaps that yes, everything that is wrong in her life is due to him ... and he storms out.
Nupur introspecting about mayank's reaction.
Gunjan Neil - he says, if it's affecting your personal life, and you want to leave, then you can do that, I'll adjust the film. Because your happiness is more important to me. She says no, I have committed, I don't want to back out.
Gunjan always had her own streak of zidd ... and she's showing it again.
Gunur intercut with Sayank ... Sayank are the worst counselors for each other, ek doosre ki buddhi bhrasht kar dete hain! Now they throw tantrums as to how girls always want things their way, while the girls discuss how men's egos are always bigger than their love.
precap - Neil tells Samrat, if you hadn't been in Gunjan's life, I would have been down on one knee proposing to her by now, telling her that I love her. Sam is shell shocked.

Gunjan practising her lines - a refelction of her life? What was her identity before this movie? Was she only Samrat's girlfriend? Was there all there was to her?
No, she thinks, that's not all there was to her.
But then she thinks again and feels, yes, she is Samrat's girlfriend, and that's all.
Sam with guards - they're rude, he gets angry, the lock him in storeroom.
Gunjan's shoot taking time - camera not ok.
Dia waiting for Sam outside.
Shoot finishes with one last take from Gunjan. Guard comes to say someone calling himself Gunjan's boyfriend came outside. Neil and Gunjan rush to storeroom. samrat losses his temper with Neil, blames him for spoling his and Gunjan's life, tells Gunjan to come with him. Gunjan stops him.
Precap - Gunjan asks Samrat - you wanted me to do this movie, then why do you have a problem now?
Samrat says yes, I'm wrong, everything that's wrong in your life is because of me (shades of Nupur's dialogue here?)
Sam leaves, Neil tells Gunjan, you can leave the movie if you like. Gunjan says she will not leave the movie.

Thoughts on ZND2 and Monaya
Watched the 1st ZND2 episode with Monaya hosting.
My thoughts:
I'm not a dance reality show fan at all. I've watched a few episodes of JDJ, a few of ZND1, maybe a couple of NB4. Never bothered to follow any of them very regularly. Watched ZND1 for KSG - or rather, started watching it for KSG, was a little surprised at his poor hosting at the start, watched it sporadically after that, and he did improve somewhat during the show, though he was never as good as Shweta. Not the most rocking host, definitely. Some of the performances were good, the teams were good - I liked Delnaz and the finale performance of the girls with the Shadow Dance was brilliant. That and Chaitanya's performance on the Saawariya song are the only two I remember for being extraordinarily good.
Nach Baliye 4 - after all the hype as to whether KSG is going to take part or not, I did watch a few episodes, the performers were very good, and whatever I watched, I enjoyed. Don't even remember who hosted.
Jhalak - was that the name of the show? Watched a few episodes, again for Karan, but many performers were very good and it obvious he was getting votes because of his popularity, AND that the judges were penalising him for that. Not fair on that part at all - if a guy is popular, he's popular. Judge him on his dance alone. Again, I don't remember who hosted the show.
So, nope - I haven't followed ANY dance shows regularly. And definitely not for the hosts.
But Monaya are different. After watching the first episode of ZND2, I do wonder whether I would have continued to follow it, EVEN if they had continued to host it. I found it BORING. Contestants are uninteresting - I'm not a fan of any of them, Rakhi puts me off, some of the guys look like cheapos - where did they get people like Abhishek Awasthi, Siddhesh, Aksshat even from??? Aamir Ali is ok, Kapil can dance, the others didn't impress at all.
Judges - am totally indifferent. Am not a fan of any one, maybe of Arshad Warsi a bit, but definitely not enough to watch a show he's judging. I'd rather watch Munnabhai. Or even Ishqiya.
So, yes, it's very clear - for me, Monaya were the ONLY reason to watch ZND2. and now that they're not there, I am not interested in the slightest.
Jennifer may be a good host, I am completely indifferent. I don't like her, I don't dislike her. I am indifferent. I won't watch a show she's hosting - that's no reason for me at all. The RJ - ditto. Monaya were fresh new faces, they have a great rapport onscreen, they perk up the show, they add some zing to it. Jenni and RJ host. And no one watches dance shows for the hosts, not if they're dance fans. They watch for the performances. The only people who watch for the hosts are fans of those hosts. And somehow I find it difficult to believe that the Jenni-RJ combination can be anywhere as exciting as the Monaya one.
So yep, final loser - Star Plus. And the show. Because it's a pretty boring show, all said and done. So it's lost the Monaya fans as viewers, definitely, especially after the number of anonymous articles they have felt it necessary to issue about how bad the hosts were. Are they trying to justify their decision? Why? Don't they have that much confidence in their decision that they need to hide behind this barrage of insulting articles? Or do they need them to stay in the limelight and try to get some viewers from the curiosity factor, or the ANTI-Monayans, who will be only to happy to gleefully watch and point out just how bad Monaya were as hosts in their first episode, in their first experience in hosting, as compared to two people who have experience in hosting before, one of whom makes a career of hosting. Yeah right - that's a very fair comparison!!!! So go ahead and be happy! Because it doesn't change the fact that it is unfair and unprofessional of a channel to judge people on the basis of one or two episodes, and feel that they don't even deserve a second chance.

Turbulence increasing
7th May
Felt really sorry for Mayank today ... probably the first failure he has ever had in his academic life ... added to which he thinks he's going to become a father ... scary place to be in. Don't blame him for getting angry with Nupur for hiding such a big thing ... but then, he hid it from her as well. The first thing MN need to learn ... immediately, for the health of their married life ... is COMMUNICATION!!!
Compare that with Sajan ... communication is the cornerstone of their relationship. Problems will only arise if they stay apart and are not able to talk ... because the moment they can just talk to each other, they can clear out everything. And even if they are angry with each other ... the way Samrat is angry with Gunjan, he can show it, she knows and can do something about it ... and she will try her best. The only thing is ... they need to talk!!! If they stay apart, then both get so agitated and uncomfortable, that they just lose their thinking power in their sheer need to be close to each other.
hmm ... Neil's dialogue ... yes, he is going to turn grey, now I am very sure ... and as I thought, the main fear in Gunjan's mind was Samrat going to jail again. But she should have told him that ... rather than make it about the movie.
the Samrat Benji Uday scene ... again, good, Samrat very angry, for once with Gunjan, why did she make him apologise, he did it for her and only for her, but that doesn't mean he's not angry. And he wants to talk to her right away. Again - he can't stay away from her ...
I liked the little Benji snippet of dialogue - I know Samrat, when he gets emotional, he commits some mistake or the other ... glad to see the Benji Sam bonding happening again.
and precap is scary ... security guard turns Samrat away, tells Gunjan he said he was your boyfriend ... am very sure Neil is going to say - she doesn't have a boyfriend.

Turbulent emotions
6th May
Samrat waiting for Gunjan, she comes late, but she's there. Happiness shortlived, reporter starts asking pesky questions, and finally asks one which makes Sam lose his cool - did Gunjan get the role because of her relationship with Neil?
Sam punches reporter, Neil tries to stop him, so does Gunjan - finally it's Gunjan's voice which does stop Sam. Reporter furious, goes off shouting he will destroy Samrat? Umm, destroy Samrat? Destroy Neil, Gunjan, the film would have been more apt ...
Mayank confused as to whether Nups is pregnant or not, wants to be pregnant or not ... he was funny, but the editing sucks - don't want a comic interlude in the middle of such major tension. Breaks the flow completely.
Neil's office - Neil, Gunjan and PR guy - PR guy says we'll handle the repurcussions on the movie, on Gunjan and Neil's reputation, but the reporter is furious with Sam, that needs to be sorted out. Neils tells G to ask Sam to apologise, G knows Sam will go to jail, but won't apologise for what he saw as a slur on her ... she's very worried for Samrat. Neil looks at her very assessingly - is this where he's gonna turn grey? Play on her fears for Samrat?
Samrat alone in agony ... why did I lose my temper? It's the fear of losing Chashmish that is getting to me, but why, when I myself encouraged her to do the movie? I can't lose her.
Again, a little incongruent - he should have been more concerned about her reputation, rather than her distance right now. Let's see how it goes.
Nups presentation - boring. Her overacting is kind of getting to me now - every expression is exaggerated and OTT. Some nautanki of uday's - didn't bother to watch, it was a complete filer.
Gunjan goes to Samrat - he starts to apologise, but she cuts him off. Samrat, please apologise to the reporter. Sam shocked. He's not going to agree, is he?

Trouble brewing in paradise
5th May episode
Samrat Gunjan barge into Neil's office where he is already furious with the news report. Samrat wants to do something about it, Neil tells him to ignore. Gunjan agrees. Samrat not very happy. PR guy says not to let out that Gunjan already has a boyfriend.
Uday and MN scenes today were total fillers! Main story is definitely Sajan - well thought out, sensible and going very logically and beautifully, keeping all characters and their emotions intact.
Finally Gunjan convinces Samrat to ignore the rumours and they leave Neil's office. Not before Gunjan tells SAmrat - don't bother about the rumours, everyone knows there'e nothing between neil and myself. Neil's face when he hears this is amazing- trying to control himself, his eyes showing his pain.
Brilliant SG scene - Gunjan cools down Samrat, being her sensible, mature and loving self, Samrat confesses that if anyone insults her, he can't tolerate it ... because he loves her. She tells him he doesn't look nice when he's angry ... leave it to the PR people, Samrat ... please? And he finally cools completely with that smile of hers.
Then her phone rings - she ignores it, and the part I loved - Samrat says - it's work? You go. First work, baki sab baad mein. And Gunjan says - tum baki sab nahin, tum sab kuch ho. She's reassuring him every step of the way that she's his always. And he's keeping step with her ... he can handle everything, as long as he knows that ... and as long as no one dares to insult her, tarnish her reputation.

Dooriyan
4th May
Sajan hug ... from yesterday. Gunjan - where have you been, I've been so worried, I've called so many times ... Samrat - I'm sorry, my phone was dead, and i've called 70 times in the last hr, Gunji - I was so worried, Sam - and I wasn't?
Uday and Benji leave at this X-rated show :) Neil is watching painfully. He knows he will have to watch her slip away from him, and he will be alone again.
Samrat is already insecure - see, you don't talk to me for one day, and we have communication problems. And Gunjan tells him, No, we don't, nothing and no one can separate us. Reassuring him without saying so, that she will always be his.
Why couldn't they show a walk?! :(:( :( Hand in hand in the moonlight ...
Comedy scene with Uday ... Mayank goes for scholarship preparation.
Sajan - Gunjan gives Samrat a time sheet so that the same confusion doesn't happen again. Sam says, I'll become your assistant, then no one can separate us. Gunjan again tries to reassure him - no one can separate us anyway. He stares at her ... kya hua yeh ... yes, she knows his hidden and not-so-hidden fears and she's trying her best to reassure him again and again. Hug no. 2 :) :) :)
And Neil comes in,and sees them locked in each others' arms again ... heartbreak time for him again ... how is he going to survive this movie?
MN
Uday comes and SG break apart - Uday has brought an article on Gunjan, he reads it out ... first cracks appearing - rumors about Gunjan and Neil. Samrat wants to bash the reporter's teeth out, Gunjan says wait for Neil. He loses it - what does Neil have to do with this? Sam in rage - he's only ever in a rage for Gunjan, but now it's mixed with an unknown fear, a cold fear that is creeping into his heart, his worst nightmare - that of losing her. So he loses it completely - and Gunjan steps back, scared of that unleashed anger suddenly. He sees her scared - of him? his Chashmish? never! So he manages to control himself - just. Fine, we'll wait for Neil.
Precap - Sam - if we say that Gunjan already has a boyfriend, what then? Publicist says, no way! She'll lose her fans. Guys have to go crazy over her. Samrat losing it again. Tension.

Rain falling on parched earth
3rd May episode
Gunjan tells Neil she loves Samrat, his face shows his shock. She wants to go to him right away, he tells her to compose herself, to change - does he want her to compose herself, or does he want time to digest this news, to prepare himself to see her with another man? Gunjan says - the whole college says, Gunjan has just to think of Samrat and he's there.
And he is - They leave the set just as Samrat reaches there, so he sets off to search for her. Game of hide and seek, he reaches the make up room just as she leaves it, Benji asks him, why are you looking for Gunjan? He says, Idon't know, I have to find her. He can sense that she needs him, that she is looking for him too.
Finally he says, we'll wait in the canteen, she will definitely come there.
In the meantime, Gunjan changes, while Neil waits, and as he waits, he remembers - so long he has been hunting for her, waiting to find her, and when he finally did, she belonged to someone else. His pain, his heartbreak shows in his face.
Gunjan comes out - says, we'll go to the canteen, if Samrat is in college, he will definitely come there.
MN scenes in between about preparing for life? Some lovey dovey scenes.
Samrat waiting in canteen, still trying to contact Gunjan, Uday tells him film stars don't wait for people, people wait for them ...
Gunjan comes to the canteen ... SG hug ... and their expressions - as though they started living again ... rain falling on parched earth, finding shelter from the sun in cool blessed shade, the blind receiving the gift of light ... me in dreamland ... they haven't fought, they haven't had words, they've just been apart for less than 24 hours without talking, and they can't take even that much of distance.
But what is going to happen tomorrow? I thought MN would have an interesting track and SG would be a hackneyed love triangle - forgot that SG turn the most hackneyed of situations into magic with their chemistry ...

Boundaries of triangle drawn
30th April episode
Gunjan trying to reach Samrat ... she knows that something is wrong. Again, thank god, Gunjan very much in character, it would have been unreal if she didn't realise that Samrat was upset. Each little thing is enough to tell her, and she wants to reach out to him as soon as possible to clear things before any gap increases.
Samrat on bb court - trying to forget every NG interaction he saw, but they keep coming back ... she didn't turn for him, she turned for Neil. She did, Sam, but you didn't wait ... these are the small things in life that make all the difference in their story. But again, he wants to talk as badly as she does ... as he goes to pick up his phone, a bb challenge ... so ok, he'll call her later.
MN scene - first part was nice, Nups worried over Mayank, when he returns, she doesn't squabble for once! Cute, the way they were trying to reach out to each other and trying to hide it ... their egos still play a big part in their relationship, but they're finally trying. At least, Nupur is trying at last - the big jhatka she got when Gunjan got selected seems to have finally brought her down to earth and jerked her out of her world of dreams. Poor girl has had to grow up suddenly and face the fact that the world doesn't move according to your plans always. Mayank has settled down a long time ago, but again, he wants her to ask, he won't tell.
Shirt scene - done cutely, Nups takes ashirwad.
BenIa - Ben parties with canteen guy, Dia annoyed! Cute - feels like Maya and Indu from Sarabhai!
MN - ah, watched the whole scene, now I get the point of the debate. But how come MN don't recognise each others' voices?! Unbelievability starting again for MN?
BenIa - beggar and Ben! Cute, but how are they going to make a story for BenIa? Nothing much yet except cute scenes. Anyway, they're fun to watch :)
MN in library - now this is why I keep dissociating from MN. Husband wife NOT discuss planning of careers together??? And keep it as a surprise for each other? You can plan surprise parties, surprise holidays, but careers and lives, HOW can you keep as surprises? Cv's really don't seem to know how to deal with MN ... I had hopes from this track, but it seems to be going haywire again. Entertaining, amusing to watch, no substance. And what on earth is a "scholarship job"?
Sam's battery dead, decides to go find Gunjan, instead of waiting calling/waiting for call.
Gunjan in shoot - now what kind of movie is this where all she has are monologues, in the same place in different clothes? Will be good if the movie doesn't get made!
Anyway, Gunjan gets lost in her dialogues and in her worries about Samrat and mixes the two completely, finally breaking down to Neil's consternation. So she tells him - I love Samrat, I can't live without him, I need to speak to him. Love is the most painful thing.
And Neil's face shows that he agrees.
Precap made me all gooey again - Gunjan says, everyone in college says that Gunjan just has to think of Samrat and he's there. And sure enough, there he is, but where has she gone?
Neil - It would have been better if I hadn't met you again. Heartbreak in a new character which is actually touching. AS story never managed to touch the heart in six months, but Neil in two weeks has managed to make a place for himself. Now will he go grey? Which way will this story go?

Sajan dying to meet each other 29April
