30th October episode
What a cuuuutee episode!!! Finally Gunjan put her habitually worried expression to good use - to fool her sister - and made me realise what a good actress she really is! She must be doing this every single day of shooting!!! She looked adorable - no wonder Samrat couldn't stop looking at her!
The first two thirds of the episode was all fun and masti, with a few poignant moments - when Mayank was giving his messages to all the gang, that was sweet, Samrat casually reminding him of his love was very well done. Both guys acted well today, so did Benji. But Mayur's first date flashbacks were ROFL moments!
The girls' getting ready was hilarious - I was laughing through it all, especially as my favourite Gunjan was in such a perky mood. Especially when she and Dia started getting Nupur ready. Please creatives, get this perky sweet naughty Gunjan back more often - Samrat's influence has been good for her! She's just too cute!
Loved the little Samrat Gunjan interaction - he couldn't take his eyes off her and she had that shy yet 'I know he's mine' expression on her face. Oh yes, she was playacting about being so nervous - she wasn't anywhere near being really so nervous about her first date! First Samrat had this 'is she serious?' expression, then he realised it was all part of the act for Nupur and he got that grin on his face - part admiration, part just 'can't stop looking at her' look! Really cute - the gamut of emotions they ran through in those couple of minutes! :)
Last scene - Mayur - oh dear, still on their individual high horses - till Nupur breaks. She is such a good actress - has been playing quite a difficult role the last few weeks, but I liked her acting today. If I was a Mayur fan, I would be on tenterhooks till Monday. But why bus - I thought Mayank was buying train tickets? There will be a separation - am almost sure of that now.
New entries - as leads???? But why? In DMG it was because the story was going nowhere, here there is still some meat left. Some family interference was needed for Sajan, I guess, but new leads??? No, please! This serial hasn't suffered the fate of DMG with the leads leaving every nine months, and it's still going okay. Sajan is great, Mayur is picking up after ages so why?
Sigh - moral of the story, never get too attached to a show!

Atul
29th October episode
I loved Atul - this new serious Atul. The great thing about DMG which had us all hooked was that the acting of all characters was of a uniformly high calibre - KSG as armaan was of course the USP of the show, but even Atul, Rahul, Shubhankar, Keerti, Anjali, Muskaan and Sukirti's Riddhima - they were all fantastic. We craved AR scenes, but we enjoyed all the scenes with all the other actors - how I loved the Armaan Rahul interactions! I remember the scene at the water park where Anjali turns down Atul - we saw a serious Atul then and we all loved him. Got to see that Atul again yesterday - Pankit, take a bow! In a very Ekta'ish scene, you were so good!
Jiah - the actress who plays her - is good too.
The new lot - my opinion still stands - I can watch Yuvi Naina, JP is kind of ok, Tamanna is still unwatchable - though she seems to be finding her tongue. Didn't watch much of her scene though - she seems to be as unreasonabl as Shilpa was at the start. Wish Sid was paired with someone better.

Communication - see, that's the key!!!
29th October episode
What have I been saying all this time? Communication!!! Finally someone heard me! Oh, Samrat and Gunjan - they don't count, they KNOW how to communicate! But finally Mayank spoke to Samrat and Nupur to Gunjan -well, something is better than nothing! And since SG are the communication experts, have no fear, the matter finally has some miniscule chance of being resolved. Miniscule chance because at the end of the day, MN still have to talk it out between themselves and that's a tough one! Maybe they should hire SG as interpreters.
Sayank scene was very good - finally saw Mayank letting out his emotions, and Samrat asking all the right questions. Well written dialogues, covered all the points. Gunur scene was okay, Nupur did tell Gunjan what had happened but as she had much less to say and most of it was based on emotion and not on fact, it had less impact. One ROFL moment - Gunajan saying - di, Mayank aisa ladka nahin hai, and Nupur interrupting - Gunjan, I know him better than you. Yeah, right, Nupur, sure you do! Liked the little Gunur-Dia scene with Gunjan's dialogues - I'll end up looking like a bhootni! Finally she's getting some peppy lines!
And loved the Sajan balcony scene from start to end, from Gunjan's "Samrat, why do you never use the door?!" to the little close up moment, to their talk, including the startling discovery that MN never talk or listen to each other (though am still a bit confused as to how they love each other, but okay) to the most selfish decision of postponing their date till MN get together - hope that doesn't take till eternity or I'll be most annoyed!
Okay they showed Nupur all dolled up, but just a glimpse of Gunjan in red - am waiting for that one! And for Samrat's reaction :))) And please, oh please change Mayank's pink shirt, everytime he came on screen, I couldn't concentrate on his dialogues because of that color!

Finally some progress
28th October episode
First a crib - it's Mayur who have broken up - why are we getting such few Sajan scenes??!!!
Anyway, the little scene we got was cute enough - and again, boy oh boy, I could have written it! Including the MN talking to each other because of SG being there.
And my cutie pie teasing Gunjan is back - ask Shukla sir for a date :))) I love her sense of humour because it's so cute and not-in-your-face variety! Love the way they're settling down into the boyfriend-girlfriend zone - and they seem to be so comfortable in it! Friends plus lovers - can't get better!
Today was mainly MN focus, or rather focus on the MN story - some progress there finally! Gunjan gets to know from Nupur and Samrat gets to know from Shilpa. So Samrat knows Mayank's side of the story and Gunjan knows Nupur's. And as these two TALK to each other - hehe, how many times am I going to say that? - soon they will both know the whole picture. Pity them, they've barely started their love life and here they are playing cupid for MN and trying to get theirs back on track. With the tough part being to get MN to both talk to each other - and listen - SG have to do the communication here for both couples!
And oh, oh, oh ... is my dream for SG's date going to come true? Is he just going to take her to the first place he took her - that beautiful Valentine's night date? The one that made me fall in love with this couple?!
Hmm, am beginning to understand why the crying Gunjan and dragging SG story during Sheena phase put off non-SG fans. I can sit through the crying Nupur and solemn Mayank monologuing about their non-communication precisely one time. Okay, I get the story is progressing. Can't watch again! But I do wonder - is Mayank going to move to Bangalore? Samrat wasn't rushing to find Shilpa aunty a job, but he does have place for Mayank to stay. Or is the MN twist going to be a long-distance relationship? Or is there going to be a relationship at all? Or are they going to call a time out? For the first time after the confession, the MN story actually has some meat.
But I still want my Sajan scenes!

Settling in
27th October episode
Altogether cute episode. Back to college with some masti, some light hearted fun after the seriousness of the Morena track. SG settling into their comfort zone - sweet the way Gunjan was gazing at Samrat after he gave her the rose - she's so happy now and it's so good to see her this way after the months of rona-dhona. And the way she was laughing quietly when Shukla ji arrived was really cute as well - I love the smiling Gunjan.
Felt bad for Mayank - he looked so alone with all the gang giving him the cold shoulder. Mayank-CJ scene was okay too - glad that he is realising that he may be a brilliant student, but as a bf, he kind of sucks.
Classroom scene was cute - Gunjan getting most worked up about the note, not about how wrong it is, but that she just knows Samrat is going to get caught - or Benji, as it turned out. She was going - no, no, bad idea, don't do it, but Samrat was in too much of a hurry!
Precap - Nups phone call - funny, they didn't show Gunjan overhearing it, and Samrat Shilpa - so SG are going to find out the whole story about MN just about simultaneously, and unlike MN, they not only talk, but also listen to each other!!! So will they put two and two together and figure out what actually happened? And hopefully get MN together to listen to each other - for once. And maybe - just maybe - MN will realise that the reason SG figured it out and MN themselves didn't is because of ... correct - COMMUNICATION!
Edit - promo - hehe, exactly what I predicted, SG helping MN get together! But not the way I imagined - as usual, Samrat's way is slightly roundabout! Should be fun - I hope! Finally looking forward to a Mayur track!

26 Oct 2009
Saw half the episode - hmm, Yuvi Naina getting really up close and cosy! That was fast. Wish they'd act better, then the story might be more interesting.
Abhi Niki, Jiah - oh sooo Ekta-ish! Actually, I don't know why I say that - the original Sanjeevani, with Rahul, Juhi and Simran was also quite like this ... hero, heroine and vamp. So are they returning to their roots?
Breaking into Sid's house - bit of a yawn. Naina leading Yuvi on by cootchie cooing into the phone - hehe! That girl is cute - I like her spunk. Just wish (again) she was a better actress, but the Yuvi-Naina part is quite watchable.

Smelling of roses
26th October episode
Thought they would raise the proximity issue - and they have, but differently to what I imagined. Hmm ... interesting, let's see how it goes. A bit surprising, I thought Samrat would be more pushy, but he's coming out smelling of roses here, with his tacit refusal to push Gunjan any further than where she wants to go. And his line - 'it's late, it wouldn't be right for me to come inside now' - was a winner. No wonder she gazed at him so soulfully when he said that one. Now she knows she made the right choice, baby!
But yes, she's bound to be apprehensive - words like girlfriend and boyfriend are really not in her dictionary, and her discomfort showed when he used them. It's going to take her a while to get over the 'not friends but more than that' thing and get used to this new relationship - their friendship was a long one. And more than her, it's Samrat who has changed completely - she's gotten used to her own feelings, but getting used to this new improved amorous Samrat might take a bit of doing. So I can understand her sudden withdrawal - she's spent the weekend struggling with her feelings and the change in Samrat, swinging between the "he turned me down" to the "why has he come to Morena" to the "He came here for me?!" to the "he's flirting - with me!!!" phases.
Then the confession, then the almost separation, the last two of which phases she basically spent in his arms - and now back to their old environment, where there is no parental or adult supervision at all - what exactly is he expecting from her? And she knows about his girlfriends - none better, the last one in excruciating detail. Except of course she doesn't know that he never progressed very far with Sheena only because he was already well and truly in love with Gunjan by then. But she doesn't know that - and she knows he's far more 'experienced' (for lack of a better word) with girls and the whole romance thing than she is. So umm, yes ... hesitation, worry, a little bit of self-doubt (I'm not like his other girlfriends) ... understandable. Am actually surprised the 'not like his other girlfriends' bit didn't surface before - with her self-esteem issues, I would have expected it to.
Mayur today - The basic problem with Mayank is that he has no friends other than Nupur - and CJ, who has conveniently disappeared. So he can't talk it out with anyone, other than Nupur, who hardly listens, but rushes to draw her own conclusions. But seriously, today was stretching it a bit far - she doesn't even think to ask him even once why he disappeared suddenly, especially when she knows that Bui discovered that evening he wasn't Babloo - okay, that had nothing to do with his disappearance, but she doesn't know that! And after his extremely romantic speech just before he left her, and his almost declaration on the terrace the night before that, why does she not think even once that she should at least confront him and ask why he led her on so much? Same with Mayank - he's wondering why she said they broke up - doesn't think even once that maybe she didn't see his letter?
No, CV's - this is stretching it like old chewing gum - you need to do a bit better. Unless the whole idea is to show how wrong a love story can actually go when you rush into love and there is no communication and meeting of minds. Well, let's see where they take it - illogic is beginning to get unbelievable here, even for a drama.

Just a thought - or two
Are Mayank Nupur heading for a (temporary) break up?
The whole SBS furore over the Rati being sidelined business. Is it a way to get publicity for the breakup? As it is, the MN story seems to have lost its way. Since the Ahmedabad track and actually even during it, MN's track has been a bit funny. I mean, academic meet and they played dumb charades? Why couldn't they show a debate or quiz or something? If Gunjan could make a speech about Mahatma Gandhi, couldn't the cv's do enough research to make a small quiz with a few questions? And after that, the whole drug thing was okay, but after their confession they have gone absolutely nowhere.
Anyway, leaving that aside - then the next article about a new entry in MJHT.
Then the track about Mayank moving to Bangalore and the misunderstanding is still there between MN, and shows no signs of getting resolved. Oh and Nupur saying there's going to be a new Nupur.
One small except here - Gunjan now knows about the break up, can she talk to Sam and they try to help MN in the communications department? Sam owes Mayank a big one - though whether getting him together with this new improved(?) Nups, is the right way to pay back, I don't know. In my opinion, the 'distance makes the heart grow fonder' principle might be the better one to apply here.
Another thought - am actually amazed at the way Sajan are moving from the best friends relationship to the madly in love relationship. For two people who have never been shy with each other, I love the way the change in their relationship is being shown. The slight fumbling for words and hesitation at the start of the bus conversation, after which they kind of slide smoothly back into being able to talk freely to each other about their thoughts and feelings, then suddenly becoming conscious again about the change when Samrat pushes her hair back and she gets all self conscious and a little nervous about it. They are going to be back in Mumbai with no adult supervision, and Samrat already has the habit of dropping into her house, climbing through her window unannounced -all that is going to take on a different meaning now. One can see that she is getting a little nervous? apprehensive? And this - his love - is something she has longed for, dreamed about - witness her fantasy in Ahista Ahista. As for Samrat's fantasy, that was pretty passionate! Wonder if that was done deliberately keeping this track in mind. After seeing their passion sequences, I am very inclined to agree that they had been told to deliberately hold back on the chemistry all this time, especially Mohit.
Also loved the way they complete each other's sentences - at least, Samrat completes Gunjan's. And seems to recognize her apprehensions, but at the same time, is definitely getting more loving and demonstrative. He seems to be making up for lost time - can't keep his hands off her! Think they're going to take over the tag of sizzling couple very soon!

Sajan - a unique twist?
Getting into the bus and the seating took half the episode, the song another few minutes, and Nupur’s monologues to herself about getting over Mayank some more time. The meaningful part – and I wonder if this is going to be a source of conflict – was the conversation between Samrat and Gunjan. I used to wonder what conflict they would create between SG because they had such a good understanding – thought it had to be an external one, maybe related to Samrat’s parents and their accepting Gunjan. Am pleasantly surprised – if they had done that, it would have been interesting but nothing new, and the strength of the SG bond is such that it wouldn’t have seriously been any threat to SG.
But if they do raise this, and do it very sensitively, it could be quite meaningful again and relevant. How far can today’s youth go – especially in a long term relationship, or what they feel will be one. There is no doubt about SG’s love for each other, nor that their relationship seems to be for keeps. There is also no doubt that they are not going to get married for a long time – they are both really young, 1st or 2nd year of college at the most. 19 – 20? They won’t get married for at least another four - five years or so – Gunjan is serious about her studies, and Samrat is changing himself to be worthy of her. So – what do they do in the meantime? Keep exchanging shy glances and meaningful looks? Or hold hands? He’s a young guy, madly in love, and so is she young and madly in love. Right now she’s feeling shy and nervous because the whole thing is new, and Samrat has been sensitive enough to say what he did to put her at ease and let her know that he’s not going to jump on her. But he’s going to want to get closer sooner or later, and – so is Gunjan. Is she nervous because he’s wanting to get closer, or because she doesn’t want to stop him? And does she not want to stop him because she doesn’t want to hurt him, or because she doesn’t want to stop him period?
Like I said, very interesting and relevant. I just HOPE they do it well - if this is what they're going to take up next in the Sajan track, it has to be very sensitively done. The base is already there - the strong relationship, now let's see what happens next.
Two more things on this one - one, Sam is possessive. That's twice he's said already in two days that Gunjan is mine. It stems from his loneliness, and that he's finally found someone whom he can call his own, who loves him a lot, unconditionally. But yes, he's becoming possessive. Shades of Armaan here? But secondly, that might be where the part about determining your own limits comes in.
Also I rather liked Gunjan saying firmly that she can take care of herself. Yes, she is strong from within and this strength of character is going to be enhanced by her new found confidence, which in turn, stems from his love. But conversely, which might be a stumbling block - he will want to take care of her, and she is suddenly showing a small streak of independence! So lots of nuances here.
Another thing which struck me - the conflict could be either the physical part of their relationship, or the conflict between balancing love and other things like studies, home, relatives, life. Will Gunjan be worried about Nupur and Samrat be like - I'm most important, I want your time and your attention? Or the balance between love and studies - oh boy, I've been there! Again it's a relevant issue.
Enjoyed my communications experts as usual - loved their talk in the bus about their feelings and how things have changed. They talked when they were friends, and they're not holding back either, acknowledging their love without any hesitation, although with a hint of shyness and wonder at the newness of it all. Well handled - creatives seem to be handling some of their issues much better now after the disastrous Sheena and the jail tracks.
On another note - MN. I SAID they have to break up or separate before their relationship can grow! Looks like the creatives agree with me!
Nice!!!
22nd october episode
After reading the update, i thought it would be a boring episode - I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Samrat is really doing well in his dialogue delivery - he makes the dialogues sound so simple, heartfelt and genuine! The Bui part was okay - it was sweet and simple, but the way he spoke to bauji won my heart. I don't know if it was just the dialogues and their sheer sweetness, or the way he said them with the expression in his eyes and voice (you're learning from Gunjan, Sam!), but he brought a lump to my throat. And the rest of the farewells - liked the way the whole gang was involved in the farewells, and Dia, Uday and Samrat said their byes to the girls. Loved the way Uday stepped in to say bye to the girls so that Samrat could say bye to Gunjan. It was a really sweet scene and seems to be bringing MJHT back to more of the gang together, now that the love stories are more or less sorted. Or at least, one of them is! MN seem to be having far more trouble post confession than pre, so God knows what is in store for us after SG confession!
Bauji - the hero! These senior actors can really teach the youngsters a thing or two. How well he said what he had to say - and of course I loved the way he shut up Bui, especially after the 'girls are a burden' dialogue of hers. Am so glad that this was said in a youth based show - I wish he had emphasized more that he trusts his daughters completely and they will make him proud. But again the Bauji Samrat part was really sweet - he has obviously drawn his own conclusions about Samrat far more accurately than his sister. His asking Samrat to look after his girls had Bui spluttering with annoyance - and me chuckling! Sure Bauji, Samrat will look after your girls - gladly! And one of them for a lifetime!
Gunjan looks happy - as she should, what a weekend it's been for her. Not only did her guy confess to his love after eons, but he actually won the parental seal of approval already! Lot of work accomplished this weekend! Fast work, Samrat!
Mayank phone call - glad to see he is worrying about his ladylove, but did they shift already? House looks different. Funny - I would have sworn they would shift to Samrat's house - serves two purposes - Samrat pays back his debt of gratitude to Mayank, and Shilpa aunty is a ready made chaperone for both girls when they visit. And exams are coming (unless creatives forget) - so SG are definitely going to need chaperones - otherwise god knows what they'll get up to. They are shaping up to be a fairly demonstrative couple - Gunjan in the fall in bus scene is not showing much shyness at all.
Another note on Mayank - oh no, more misunderstanding, he thinks she got his note, while she still thinks he's dumped her. Isn't this dragging a bit too much now? They could have at least let her find the letter. SG cleared up one misunderstanding (of G's confession) with great difficulty - and that's purely because they still manage to TALK to each other - am really apprehensive for MN. I would really like to see a good track on MN now - what they've started has good potential, but their misunderstanding needs to be cleared up. Nupur crying is not fun. Not for so long. I can stand Gunjan crying (with great difficulty) but not Nupur. Gunjan sheds quiet tears but Nupur goes back to her Har Ghar days.

Some confusion - and a reaffirmation
21st October
Mayank (finally!) tries to call Nupur - Bui bomb blast! For the first time, he's worried about what Nupur might be going through and feels she might need him as much as his mom does. Okay, boy, you're starting to grow a bit as a boyfriend!
Nupur cries and cries, why she isn't worthy of Mayank's love. Well, if you can't see a letter lying under your nose for the last day and a half, or however long it's been in MJHT time, then that might be a reason. Oh wait, Mayank did the same thing, didn't he - lost your letter? Or that letter magically flew into a file/book/something. Like I said - letters and Mayur - not a good idea!
SG terrace scene - now why are you calling Uday and Benji, Gunjan? Have you forgotten Samrat already? after crying over him the last six months? Sigh - and they say this girl thinks only about Samrat!
Anyway, very sweet scene - after months of being a dhakkan, Samrat is sure making up for it! He's totally lost in love - madly and deeply! ANOTHER line I predicted - 'after promising just today that I will never make you cry, I did again'. The rest was sweet, nothing OTT, but very touching, genuine and heartfelt. Subdued as well - no dramatics, but a soft, determined reaffirmation of love, that they will love each other for ever. And with this couple, you believe it - in fact I wonder how will they show any fights? There can only ever be external pressures on this couple - nothing internal, because they really are two bodies one soul. Am so glad that I know she will not be left behind!
Oh, and I loved the hug!
Edit - just watched again - the hug is amazing! No passion, no romance, just pure love, holding on to each other for the last time, drawing their comfort and their strength from each other, they belong together and always will. Yes, Gunjan was right whneh she said that Samrat's love is everything for her - it's her strength, her life - as her love is his. She is already so much stronger in this scene - she wipes her own tears firmly, then smiles at him, and asks him so sweetly - shall I go? And he looks away because he can't bear to see her go and gives the smallest of nods. She turns and goes slowly, he doesn't even look at her, till she turns back to look at him one last time. Did he know she would turn? She always did - and he looks up, maybe waiting for that one last 'palat' - and she runs to him and they hold each other as though they can never let each other go. No tears, no break down, no sobbing - just living their world and their lives in that moment in each others' arms. That's all they want, that's all they need, that makes their life complete.
2nd edit - just realised this was another DDLJ ripoff. Well, hats off to the creatives and to Monaya - it was very well tweaked, because it was on the terrace and that was about the only similarity, apart from the general theme of lovers separating the next day. Apart from that, the mood, the promises made, the reaffirmation of love was different enough for me not to even realise the DDLJ base till much later (the 2nd, 3rd, 4th ? time I watched it!)
Last scene - gang leaving with Samrat - and I just saw Bauji moving towards Gunjan. So what will happen tomorrow? Well, i know that one - he'll stop her! Thank god for promos!

DDLJ revisited
20th Oct
How many of my predictions are coming true?
I said that Bui might stop the sisters going back to Morena.
I said that Gunjan was upset because of Nupur Mayank.
I said/thought that dialogue of Samrat's that he knows what it is like to be without parents and he doesn't want that to happen to Gunjan.
I think I can start writing MJHT!
Dining table scene -Thankfully Bauji shut up his sister - she was seriously getting annoying with her rudeness to Samrat. Also thankfully, Dia and Uday did answer their aunt back - politeness to adults is all very well, but rudeness and bigotry can be replied to, else you're showing weakness. Good that Samrat and Benji didn't answer back - they're guests, but Dia and Uday are family - and the good thing of being brought up in a big town is that you do stand up for what you think is right, especially when faced with rigid conservatism. Otherwise there would be no progress or change in many of our Indian attitudes.
Again, why do the heroines have to be sooo meek and mild? All very well for Gunur to tell their dad that they'll stay back in Morena - but why? Do they feel they have done something wrong? They should instead say that please have faith that the values you have instilled in us, will always stay there, but the advantages of a big city is that it opens your mind to the wrongness of some values - like the idea that Bui has that if a young girl and boy are together, it is a cause for gossip and badnaami!
The Samrat with gang scene was nice - DDLJ in a way, but well adapted to a very different situation. He is suddenly looking so grown up, yet like a college kid -sweet! Somehow the strength of the SG love story came through for me in this scene - the way UDB were horsing around and Samrat was totally serious all through - you could make out he was aching to meet G and speak to her.
Gunjan is so worried for Nupur - she hasn't even tried to meet Samrat, but follows Nups to find out what the Mayank problem is. How selfish is that?!!! Cute, the way the gang kidnapped her - but using Uday as the decoy? Seriously?!
Ah, Mayank finally telephoned! and big bad Bui picked up! More miscommunication!
All in all, a good episode. Like the way all the gang is now involved - it makes the love stories more interesting.

Confusion cleared, more problems
19th Oct
Nupur tells gang that she and Mayur have broken up. Why does she not tell them that he never came at all? Ego again ... :( May cause some further confusion later as even when they meet Mayank, the gang now will obviously not want to probe further.
Mayank reaches home - am seriously confused about days and times here - has he reached the same evening/night? the next night? the gang have all changed clothes so presumably it's the night after Dusshera. So what did SG do the whole day? Play chupan chupai? Anyway Mayank mom scene was good. Mayank still looks like handsome block of wood, mom is great!
Gang getting Sam ready to meet G's dad. Gunjan comes to call them. Cute SG scene - can't help watching with big grin on face. Jeez, Sam stop flirting with the poor girl - she doesn't know where to look! On second thoughts, don't stop, she looks so adorable blushing!
Dining table, G comes to know mayank left, is very upset. Sam holds hand under table to comfort her. What a lovely scene - friendship meets love, caring, concern, an unspoken "I'm there for you, we'll sort it out later" look. They continue holding hands while eating :)))
Bui cross questions Samrat about his parents, poor guy, that really is his Achilles heel. Can see G getting so upset for him, she knows how he feels (of course she does, they know everything about each other!) Finally Bui winds up telling him to go home. This time I felt she was over the top. He's a kid, he studies with your nieces and nephew, come on woman, didn't you know your girls go to a co-ed college and have FRIENDS???
Precap - Bauji shuts up Bui - good for him. Bui advises him to keep the girls in Morena. Sam tells gang they can't do anything against parents' wishes, DDLJ dialogues thankfully cut short.
Okay when is Nupur going to find the letter? It's been a day - does their house get cleaned daily and is the letter going to disappear? MN don't have a very good track record with letters, do they? They seriously need to find an alternate means of communication - make that - they need to find a means of communication. Letters don't work, talking doesn't work, they don't have cell phones - how about regular phones? Or did Mayank not take the Morena number? Or Gunjan's number? Or Samrat's number? What ... none??!! I thought he was supposed to be smart? Sigh, obviously not in the love department! Learn from Samrat, buddy - he gifted G a phone very early on, for exclusive phone calls. No wonder they are communications experts!
Digress to my favourite couple - wonder if S started writing G love notes, would she get them? Their track record is far better - she got all his notes, he got her letter and read it! The only note that went astray was highjacked by Sheeeeena :(
If Bui continues in this vein, they might have to start talking to each other through cell phone in the same house - not that they'll have much problem doing that! They've been doing that for a long time anyway :)
Seriously - HOW did they (make that how did Samrat) never realise they were in love earlier?!
Thank heaven for the DDLJ promo - G isn't going to stay back in Morena.

Post confession
16th Oct
1st scene - Bui finds out about Nupur and Gunjan's love lives at the same time.
Gang finds out that Bui has found out - with a little bit of help from Uday - but about time! Mayank is really not looking good here- Samrat might have emerged favourite except that Bui just saw Gunjan running from the barn - verrry suspicious!
Girls meet their dad - for the first time, Nupur crying and Gunjan happy!
2nd scene - Samrat is very very happy - ecstatic - cute! Obviously no doubts here about declaring to the world what he feels, especially as his girl feels the same way! Gang doesn't tell him about bablu's truth being found out, as they still don't know whether he met Nupur before he left.
Bui plants seeds of doubt in dad's mind - umm, getting a bit Ekta-ish here, are we?
3rd scene - Sisters scene - Gunjan is so excited she tells Nupur and Nupur hides her pain from her sister - great acting by both girls here. Nupur's tears, Gunjan slowly emerging from her euphoria to realise something is not quite right, accepts her sister's word for the moment.
Maybe Gunjan will find the letter first - that's why the tension in the Diwali scene later?

SG confession in totality
For me the whole Morena track was the SG confession, not just the one episode.
Highlights:
Oct 5th - Pillar scene and DDLJ rip off
Pillar scene best dialogue- Samrat: how did I not realise earlier? We wasted so much time when we could have been with each other.
DDLJ scene
Gunjan: Samrat? Is it really you?
Samrat (no words ... takes her hand to his face)
Oct 6th DDLJ continued
Best dialogues
Gunjan: Dia ... Uday Bhaiyya ... all are here ... it's nice
Samrat (runs his hand down the side of her face): I'm not talking about everyone. I;m only asking about myself.
Another one -
Samrat: that's the problem between us, Chashmish, We think too much, we talk very little, and maybe ... we don't listen to each other at all.
This was a beautiful dialogue - except that it must have confused the wits out of Gunjan - 'talk very little' - what more is she supposed to say?! But then the 'don't listen to each other at all' should give her a clue!
(Contrast to MN - think very little, talk too much and have selective hearing)
8th Oct
SG Candlelit scene -
Finally the confusion about Gunjan's confession is out of the way!
Best dialogues -
Gunjan: If you want anything, Samrat, you can tell me.
Samrat: I'm here with you, Chashmish. There is nothing more I want.
another one
Gunjan: did you get my letter?
Samrat (looks away, sighs) - your letter. yes, I got it. I read it too.
Gunjan: then you can understand ...
Samrat (interrupts firmly): no, Chashmish, I can't understand. That's why I've come all the way from Mumbai to Morena.
(Just loved his expression when he said this. Amazing - serious to the core, intense, all fun and jokes gone, he's dead serious about this and he is going to find out why she's gone so far away from him).
9th Oct - terrace scene, Nupur's story
Progress - Gunjan a little more at ease in Samrat's presence now that she knows he didn't hear her confession. Loved the stealing looks at each other throughout the story telling, a slight smile is back on her face for the first time after she saw him in Morena.
Dialogue
Samrat: Nupur, so any boy can declare his feelings to the girl he loves on this day?
Nupur: yes, and if she says yes, their love story is set for life.
Samrat and Gunjan steal looks at each other again.
12th Oct
very cute SG scenes!
1st - continuation of the terrace scene, Samrat all but confesses here, asks Gunjan are you waiting for tomorrow as much as I am?
Gunjan (wary): yes ... everyone likes festivals ...
Samrat: are you waiting only because of the festival?
Gunjan (even more wary): y ... yes ...
Samrat: you're lying, Chashmish. You;re waiting for tomorrow for another reason, not just because it's a festival.
Gunjan (looks away, looks down. Samrat moves down so she has to look at him).
Samrat (very meaningfully): so we'll meet tomorrow, Chashmish. Sweet dreams.
Come on, she's entitled to dream a bit after this! How much more obvious can he get? And how much longer can they manage to hold back saying what they want to say?
2nd - another DDLJ rip off. Earrings scene, not a word spoken. Loved the shy smile on her face at the end when he signals he loves her earrings. These are going to be her favourite earrings forever!
Bui kabab mein haddi - hehe, stammering Samrat was a sight, zipping and unzipping his shirt! Bui out of sight, and he promptly gets back to flirting. And you wonder Bui doesn't like you, Samrat?! The best part was that Gunjan doesn't seem to mind his flirting at all, even is enjoying it a bit - see the shy smile she gives when he says that outrageously OTT line about the chand ... she knows that's him, his style, so she's not taking it very seriously, just letting herself enjoy it!
3rd - SG with Benji Uday Dia - laughing at Dia. Gunjan glares at Samrat and the smile is wiped off his face. Another look, and he obediently goes to cheer up Dia. Seems like shy timid Gunjan is wearing the pants here!
4th - totally OTT scene - cringeworthy entrance of guys. Girls should have got the drum rolls, they looked much better. As for the cheesy dialogues, the less said the better! The only part I liked was Gunjan wondering wherer she was overdressed and what HE would think! Yes to the first, but he's not going to think that, so it's fine, sweetheart! Just get rid of the neckpiece, that's all!
13th Oct - MN day, SG got the temple scene
Gunjan wondering what's happening to her - she's not talking about her feelings, she knows that! But why is she letting Samrat flirt with her so blatantly and doing absolutely nothing to stop him!
Best dialogues -
Gunjan: Samrat, please. It's a temple. (Don't flirt here at least)
Samrat (pretty serious now): am I doing anything wrong, Chashmish? (It's not just flirting for him)
Gunjan (again): Samrat, please ...
Samrat: why are you saying please Chashmish? (oh boy, melting tones!) Is it because you don't want me to say it or because you don't want to hear it?
Last one -
Samrat: pray Chashmish, that today I can say what I want to, the the most special person in my life.
You think they still need a confession after this??!!
14th Oct
Barn scene
Best dialogue (hands down favourite)
Gunjan: let me go.
Samrat: that has been my only mistake, Chashmish. You always said - let me go - and I did. Not anymore.
Okay, do they even need to say any more? Even better would have been if he had just held her by the shoulders and added to that dialogue - never again. I will never ever let you go, Chashmish ... because I can't live without you.
No need for further words, any I love you's. Just hold her tight and show her why you can never let her go.

SG confession 15 Oct
Most awaited ... it was very very beautifully done ... great dialogues, superb acting ... loved it! Samrat's questions, Gunjan's refusal to answer, running away and then he finally says it ... and she whirls around! What I loved was that she didn't turn around slowly - she just whirled, as though she couldn't believe what she was hearing! And when he asks her ... can you love me also ... and she runs to him :))))))
And then surprise - she confesses as well! And its her turn to hug him - what a contrast to the MN story - Gunjan is so sure of her feelings from the word go! So is he ... they've done all their falling in love before their confession!
The after scene was sooo good! Started off with just that little awkwardness, then the way they talked ... that is the best part of SG - they can talk to each other about everything - except, like they said, the biggest thing they kept hidden for so long! But now that is out as well - they have such a beautiful understanding. The way this story has built up with so much substance over the year - the wait was worth it because their relationship seems solid and so substantial and real!
Oh ... and the grass! This couple can really set the screen on fire with their sensuality, nothing over the top ... but wow, the way Samrat was looking at her while tracing the grass over her face .... blush!!!!
Loved the bg music both yesterday and today - concentrated on Yeh Zindagi - so apt, because it really is their signature tune!
The big negative - I was never very keen on a solo confession episode because I got bored stiff during the MN confession - but after watching this, I feel the whole barn scene should have been just one episode ... right uptil the confession and the after scene. Because the whole scene was beautiful ... so real, no cliches, no mouthing dialogues and going round and round in circles trying to guess what the other was feeling - everything was tied together and flowed beautifully!
Also, I normally love Nupur, but today she irritated me - I wasn't in the mood for slow walking and slow tears - I just wanted her out of the way, so I could get back to the barn! And why was it necessary to have such a sorrowful sobbing Nupur in today's episode? Or wait - was it the same for SG at MN's time? Don't remember - I wasn't really concentrating on MN at that time. So yeah, i wish the whole confession had been that one scene. Oh well, had a good time anticipating today!

SG Barn Scene 14 Oct
One scene I can watch again and again. To see an authoritative, dominating Samrat, who' sure of himself and of Gunjan, who will make her say that she loves him. He thinks that he's forcing her to face her feelings, not knowing that she already faced them and came to terms with them ages ago. So long back that now she's scared to face them again, scared to acknowledge them. She's had her hopes raised too many times, only to see them dashed. That's why she is so scared during this scene, she doesn't even want to think about what he feels for her, why is he doing this, why is he treating her so differently.
And she doesn't realise in her nervousness, that he's treating her differently because he's seeing her differently. No longer is she the fairy, the angel that he worshipped for bringing his life back on track, the guiding light who shows him what's right and what's wrong, who helps him whenever he stumbles or falters. No longer is she that angel - out of his reach. Now she is just - the girl he loves. The girl he adores, the girl he can't live without. He wants to reach out to her now, to touch her, to hold her, to love her. He doesn't worship her as one would an unattainable object. He loves her. And with that love comes possessiveness, comes confidence, comes his authority - because he knows ... he knows that she loves him too. With his newly awakened senses, he can finally feel her love. He doesn't know how long she has loved him, has known it, has lived with it. But he's going to find out.
G - (very soft) - what should I say?
S - (even softer) - don't you know?
G - shakes her head, looks away (how did she not melt into a puddle at his feet then and there?!)
S - should I say it?
G - (quickly) - No!
S - (very very soft) - Chashmish ...
G - (quiet)
Loved that soft voiced 'Chashmish'!
S - If you don't say it today ...
Oh boy ... try to breathe, try to breathe ...
It ended at a cliff hanger - she says - you lied to me that you weren't here, when you actually were, and immediately he comes back with - you lied to me ... about Sheena.
Silence.
Waiting for today ... wonder if confession will be pushed to tomorrow ... :( But I'm looking forward to Gunjan maybe breaking down and asking him half angry, half crying - what do you want from me?! Why are you doing this to me?
And then she runs, and he sees he has pushed her too much and runs after her and blurts it out.
Ahhh .. let's wait and see.
And she doesn't realise in her nervousness, that he's treating her differently because he's seeing her differently. No longer is she the fairy, the angel that he worshipped for bringing his life back on track, the guiding light who shows him what's right and what's wrong, who helps him whenever he stumbles or falters. Gunur and Samrat - today's stars
Today the girls stole the show.
Rati in the first scene on the terrace, waiting for Mayank ... though why she had to wait there, when he had left her somewhere else, I don't know. But her anticipation, her hesitation, shyness was really sweet. And the way the gang teased her at first and then started feeling bad for her but still tried to pretend everything was okay was very sweet as well. See Mayank, that's what friends are for.
Mayank was blank - as usual! I remembered Samrat looking for Gunjan in the bet scene - the anguish in his face and voice was so apparent - Mayank just cannot compare. Last bit was slightly better when he leaves the letter, but overall ...
Samrat Gunjan barn scene. Okay first let me vent - why does she have to confess first? Why don't you just tell her you love her? Instead of playing these games?
Having said that, loved the scene!
Another breath holding day!!! Loved it, loved the dialogues, the expressions, the emotions, everything ... how she's almost scared to hear what he has to say ... Samrat had the great dialogues, but Gunjan's soft half replies were amazing ... I just love the emotion she gets into her voice - it's flawless!
Loved Samrat's dialogues, galat, the way he brings up Sheena, and the best - my only mistake was to let you go ............................ butterflies doing rain dance here!!!
Am so waiting for the continuation of that scene ... but I hope he gets a little grief as well - he's getting it all too easy because she just can't hide her feelings any more ... and now he's able to read them now that his dhakkanness has lessened. Not gone completely - otherwise he would have figured out that she ... unlike you, Sam baba ... actually knew what she felt ... ages ago!!!
Precap - somehow I feel that's not going to be the actual confession. The scene after is still in the barn, so will the confession be in the barn itself?
Am sooo looking forward to Gunjan's expressions after confession ... before she finds out about Nupur, because she's going to be upset again for her sister. But hope Samrat can keep her smiling more often. She looked so cute with the gang teasing Nupur - and she was the only one smart enough to ask if Mayank actually knew where Nupur was ... most pertinent, as it turned out!

Musings
13th Oct episode
edit after watching on tv. Till then -
I think no one has noticed - they seem to be alternating SG and MN days. So today was MN's turn ... yawn! I am seriously getting very bored with MN ... their expressions, their looks at each other, especially AB ... nothing seems fresh or new. Nupur's admirers were okay, but Mayank's lines at the end were so NOT Mayank ... Mayur fans still liked them?! Ah well, I guess that's why I still like SG scenes, regardless of how cheesy they get ... if you love the couple, you'll take anything, I guess!
Liked the temple scene - except for Gunjan saying - what's happening to me? Thought she knew the answer to that one! Or was she getting at the fact that yesterday she allowed Samrat to blatantly flirt with her and didn't even try to run away?! Rest of the scene - I was holding my breath for the most part ... cliched, been there done that, but I still loved it because it was on this pair! Sigh ... her "Samrat please" and his "why are you saying please, Chashmish?" Butterflies went wild during this ... how can two such innocent people exude so much passion without even being near each other?!
Another except - actually liked how shocked Sam was when the dupatta came into his hands - but throwing it over her? Not very romantic, buddy! Especially for a guy who's unfailingly romantic.
Hmm, is this going to be the surprise in the confession? Mayank, the most unromantic of guys, confessed on stage with the tackiest, cheesiest lines ... and Sam the love guru is going to fumble and perspire till Gunjan actually gets upset and tries to run away from him, so all he can do is to shout out "I love you!"
Song was okay ... a bit random, the way it started and finished, but loved the little bit with Sam imagining Gunjan smiling and touching his face ... hailla, is she gonna be like that after confession? Can't wait!!! Rest of it was strictly okay ... didn't really pay much attention, to be honest.
Okay, finally Bui is going to find out about Mayank ... again, I was disappointed with that scene - Mayank being upright honest raja harishchandra, allowed Nupur to tell more lies for him? And isn't it going to make things worse? Or does he plan to marry Nupur as Babloo? Haha ... what a twist! And people found it romantic that he just gazed at Nupur lovingly while she lied for him? I'd be perspiring if I was him!
From my post today, it's quite clear that I couldn't stand Mayur today! Rati on her own is good, Rati with the rest of the gang is fine, but with Mayank ... a big big yawn!
Sajan precap - hope the whole scene is Sajan tomorrow and they have a really emotional discussion, where she tells him to stop leading her on and flirting with her, and breaking her heart again and again. Then she runs away and he's left flabbergasted, and follows her and just blurts it out.

thornewood's take on 12th Oct
I leave for about eight hours and everyones already posted their opinions on the SaJan Scenes!
Ah well what else can I expect? How JANUABLE were those Scenes yesterday???
But I just cant help myself I HAVE to make a topic on it! So here are my thoughts and opinions on yesterdays Scenes! Feel free to bring me down from Cloud Nine
Hehe ... I always like thornewood's posts ... but this one was great!
Hehe ... I always like thornewood's posts ... but this one was great!
Okay the First Scene:
SaJan At Night
How the HELL was Gunjan still standing after that LOOK and that wink??? And the way he implied that shes waiting for tomorrow because of the whole Love Story thing??? Gunjan wake up and smell the coffee!!! HES FLIRTING WITH YOU! AND IMPLYING A SAJAN LOVE STORY!!!
And who ABSOLUTELY LOVED the way Samrat leant into Gunjan and said Toh kal miltay hain Chashmish... Sweet Dreams...
Im absolutely loving the Return of the Leaning We used to get quite a lot of it BEFORE SheeeeNah but FINALLY its back and with a vengeance! I wonder what perfume Sanaya uses... maybe THATS why Mohit is doing so much Leaning
Unfortunately this is the last scene where we get to see Samrat in Hawt Black Probably for the best if you think about it.... The Temperature around these Forums is Sky High these days
Hmm ... think Gunjan has finally got a whiff of Samrat's feelings ... after she stopped worrying about him knowing hers! Witness ... next three scenes ...
Hmm ... think Gunjan has finally got a whiff of Samrat's feelings ... after she stopped worrying about him knowing hers! Witness ... next three scenes ...
Second Scene:
SaJan DDLJ Scene!
YES!!! YES!!!! YEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT MY WISH!!! DDLJ ANGLE SCENE!!!!
WHOOOHOOOO!!!!!!
Ahem.
I'm sorry. BUT HOW CUTE WAS THAT???
He was DEFINATELY eyeing Chashmish in a I-Seriously-Love-You-In-A-Non-Friendly way
And Bui caught him Samrat all nervous was cute and the way he zipped his shirt up was hilarious Also Gunjan was really nervous too for herself and for Samrat Gunjan is afraid of Bui Guys I dont think she'll be standing up for Samrat unless its a MAJOR Situation.... For some reason Im getting really horrible premonitions about a Samrat/Bui Slap Scene coming up.... Oh God....
Okay forget that. Thats depressing I want to focus on the JANUABLENESS!!!
And how much more Januable can we get when we get the whole "Leaning" thing again! And did anyone notice that Samrat was REEEALLY close to Gunjan but she didnt move away? *Nods Meaningfully*
First clue that Gunji sweetie is realising Samrat's feelings ... her smiling shyly into the mirror while trying the earrings, her guilt when Bui sees Samrat ogling her and she's doing NOTHING to stop him, and the last bit, when he leans and leans ... and all she does is smile a little shyly at the blatant flirting ... that chand line was way OTT ... but that's Samrat! She's not backing away now ... Nupur sharmaos more than Gunjan in this scene!

Gunjan still doesnt know when Samrat flirts with her How OBVIOUS was he being in that Scene??? That whole Jab Chand Tyar Honay Ke Liye Soch Le Toh Hum Insano Ka Kya Hogah? Uh oh ... I think she DOES know ... and is starting to enjoy it just a wee bit! Why oh why did Uday have to interrupt? He did it with Mayur ... now he's doing it with Sajan!
One emoticon for that line ----->
How ROMANTIC is he being? Hes completely turning up the SAMRAT CHARM on Chashmish! How the HELL is she still breathing??? My God I was getting all tingly and feeling nervous and butterflies just WATCHING that Scene!
And the way Gunjan almost slipped up into admitting that Samrat always looks Perfect YAY!!! Well really can we blame the poor girl? Those eyes can make anyone slip up Samrat obviously enjoyed the fact that Gunjan loves how he looks And the KKHH Nose thing! Soooooo Cute. Creatives I dont care how much you copy from KKHH DDLJ or any other Movie just as long as I keep getting these januable SaJan Scenes Im happy! My feelings exactly!!! Especially when they do them so cutely!
And Gunjan was so cute when she was all sharmaoing!!!
Also Samrat in Green??? HAWT. *Aisha Fans Herself*
It also kind of made me go back to the CourtScene Hug between SaJan *Sighs Dreamily*
Plus Gunjans Pink and Yellow suit? PERFECT. She looked so sweet in those colours. Definately a good combo for her and it really brought out her flawless skin Simple yet stunning My imagination for this combo when I saw the red dupatta in the sbs karva chauth was red, white and blue - got two of my three colors :)
Okay move on. Ive analysed that Scene to death I think
SaJan/Dia Scene
AWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! How sweet! One look from Gunjan and Samrat shuts up
And I have to say I Loved Navinas Acting in that Scene She had the right amount of heartbreak in her voice to convey how bad she felt about those clothes. And I have to say the Pink and Yellow was nice but it was just awful on Dia I liked her hairclip thing though. And why the hell did Bui make Dia wear Chinky's clothes when it was so obviously short for Dia? Bui is actually quite .... harsh on everyone except Uday
Haha! Loved that scene ... and that look! See what I mean about Gunjan getting a whiff of Samrat's feelings? Two episodes ago, she wouldn't have been looking him in the face, now she's confident enough to glare at him to shut up! How I would love to see a perky Gunjan teasing Sam in her own shy way ... hailla!!! Must say - I loved Navina's acting too ... but the hair clip? I thought it was a piece of tinsel or Christmas tree trimming stuck on her head!

SaJan Meet At Party
Oye Hoye I thought Samrat looked GOOD in Black. I thought he looked AMAZING in Green. But White? MY. GOD. Is the show trying to kill us? How the hell are we normal girls supposed to handle that much Hotness on One Screen???
Pepsi anyone?
And that whole Hum Nahi Bach Paye Gaye dialogue? Who the hell comes up with that stuff??? Applause to the dialogue writers for that PERFECT SCENE.
Samrat looked HOT and Gunjan??? WOW. Just WOW.
Only Samrat could make White look Hot
I also LOVED Nupurs colour and dress choice and did anyone notice her earrings? I LOVE those type of earrings! Mayank looked really nice as well next to her and the end where the Scene Split in two? WOW. *Fans herself*
Temperature Alert! I swear that last scene is hazardous to a girl's health!
Okay, I differ here ... I don't like that royal purple and I didn't like Nupur's earrings ... looked the ones my daughter had in grade 2, and the part over the ears ... uff!!! I know the style and I love it ... it's beautiful, and very traditional, but in the garish purple stone ... ugh!!! That was the only thing I noticed about Nupur's jewelry ... put me off!
Gunjan was looking a bit overdressed ... she could have done without the neck piece according to me, as the whole outfit was so bright ... just the earrings would have been perfect, and that's stylish too, as she normally is - heavy earrings and no neck piece. Oh well, she was looking beautiful as always.

Another thing: Did anyone notice that when Gunjan was walking away from the Gang (before SaYank show up) BENJI WAS TELLING DIA IN THE BACKGROUND THAT SHE WAS LOOKING GOOD??? WHOOO!!!! I think the BenIa Track is starting soon! Benji looked Stunned Dia DID look really good in those clothes! Nice colour choice! I think she would have looked even better in a lengha too like GuNur but she still managed to hold her own against those two
Loved Dia's color ... actually liked the trio - they were more dressed for Dusshera ... the other four would have been okay at a wedding!
Okay, forgot to mention the guys - I liked Samrat's white, but will like it better after he takes off the dupatta - too thick and long! Mayank I actually liked in the promo, but in the episode it was also a bit over the top! Too rich ... like I said, okay for a wedding! Samrat's was simpler, so still looked okay.
