18/6 - Epi 277 ... The First Moves

Monday 18th June

The start of the last week of the kidnapping track?

Quick Update - random thoughts as I watch.
Was surprised to see Khushi so amiable towards Shyam at the start ... thought she was doing too much too soon. So I was glad to see her get back to being brusque after the office scene. But I still want her to slow down on the trust factor - although Shyam is in a hurry for sure ... already getting over-confident?
Anjali sees Khushi and Shyam going off together ... hmm.

Also liked the fact that it was Shyam chasing after Khushi ... that was the way I thought it should happen.

Khushi has met Mr Roy - yes she has, during the Payash divorce papers stunt. I'd almost forgotten that ... glad the cv's haven't ;)

And good to see the entire planning between NK and Khushi, and also how Khushi knows the phone call was a set up. Through Di and the cd's ... so Shyam already starts overplaying his hand.

And Shyam is already falling for Khushi's plan? Good, good ... hurry things up now please.

Last but not least ... dream sequence came today itself ... just as my guests walked in :)) Talk about timing! So shall re-watch and review that tomorrow!

*Edited*

The chess game starts ... stay one step ahead of your opponent. So Khushi asks for Shyam's help in a legal matter, some property papers ... after all, he is a lawyer ... in a surprisingly friendly tone, with a hint of 'you know my secret'. Shyam is a bit flummoxed, he didn't expect such a volte face so soon ... antennae raised. But he can't say no to Khushi, of course ... makes an excuse to Anjali and follows Khushi.

And Anjali is surprised to see them leave together ... Shyam said he was going to meet a client, and Khushi left ages ago ...? :-/
Now how will this work out? Will Shyam tell her Khushi wanted his help for some legal matter? Or that he gave her a lift? Or later, that they were hunting for Arnav together? Or ...?

'Roy's' office ... Khushi takes papers hesitantly, Shyam encourages her to sign them ... Shyam and 'Roy' exchange meaningful looks ... hence proved, Khushi was more interested in getting property in her name than in following up Arnav's whereabouts ... first test passed.
Don't think there is anything more to it than that ... Khushi has no assets she can sign over to anyone, Shyam and 'Roy' are sure as heck not buying a property in her name ... and her signature is worthless on any property deal without a POA by Arnav.

After the 'deal', visibly disturbed Khushi ... I was SO glad to see her go back to her usual brusqueness with Shyam :) ... he offers her tea, she refuses ...
He knows she has been desperately trying to find Arnav ... she just gave him a completely different motive for her desperation ... so she can actually carry on behaving exactly the same as she was earlier ... with just a few hints being dropped here and there ...
So she does ... 'I want to go home ...'
Shyam starts his act of showing complete sympathy and understanding ... not knowing this is exactly what Khushi is waiting for.
"If you go back like this, everyone will know there is something wrong ... drink the tea, you'll feel better ...'
She starts to fire back as usual ... 'you think that ...hum aapko ...'
What she's implying ... 'do you think that just because I brought you here, I'll trust you?'
He completes it for her ... 'yes, somewhere you do ... you also know only I can help you here ...'

She's quiet, as though acknowledging the truth of what he says ... little does he know how true that is!
And Shyam does wonder, from what he knew of her, he never thought she could be this angry or vengeful.
Khushi shoots a quick look at him ... she needs to convince him further ... now is the time ... but in a very Khushi-like way. So speaks more quietly ... 'he destroyed my life ... won't I be angry?'
Well, he should believe that ... she always was hot-tempered, and she has been singularly unforgiving towards Shyam all right ...
But he still wants her to tell him about the phone call ... dunno his logic there, but fortunately, DM is on Khushi's side, so she knows she needs to win his trust some more ...

'Maybe whatever is happening with Arnavji, is punishment for what he did to me ...'
That's more like Khushi, believing in fate and divine intervention.
Then shooting another look, she goes on 'I told you he's been kidnapped, but I don't know who and why ... what they want ... I can't tell anyone at home ...'
Shyam interjects ... 'any clue who they are? What they want? Do you suspect anyone?'
She doesn't ... but she's scared that if she tells anyone, they will harm Arnav, and that she can't have. She needs him back soon ... but only for the success of her plan ... she can't afford to make even one mistake right now ... even when he called, she couldn't get any clues ...

Ah, so she does tell him about the call ... Shyam relaxes further, his next test passed ... and she looks angrily at him ...
'I haven't done anything wrong ... don't look at me like that ... you're also deceiving them, so don't give me those looks ...'
He's quite shocked ... she pushes the story further ... 'that old Khushi is dead ... Arnav killed her ... I was never that way, but now I'm going to be selfish ... I have to worry about my amma and babuji and no one else ...'
He puts a sympathetic hand on her shoulder, and she allows it to sit for a while ... before finally throwing it off ... mixing the new and old Khushi ...
Whoever wrote and directed this scene, deserves applause ... both the actors as well, of course ... the writing was superb, and the actors managed to convey the underlying changes in the equation so fabulously ... Shyam slowly beginning to trust this new Khushi, Khushi retaining just enough of her usual behaviour with him, and showing the changes ever so subtly ... down to the length of time she allowed his hand on her shoulder, and the way she threw it off exactly like the old Khushi ... and her words after that ... mixing old and new beautifully, just enough to throw Shyam off, get him all confused and ready to believe her ...
'Why am I even bothering to tell you all this?! You won't understand ...'
And Shyam tries convince her ... 'you're telling me because you know I will understand ...' finally convinced that he knows the real Khushi, he understands why she's telling him this, because she can actually trust him ...
But she goes back to the old equation ... can't give him too easy a victory or he will suspect that something is wrong ... 'trust you?! You're one of the reasons for this state of mine ... you and he both. There is NO difference between you and him for me ... I hate you both!'

And Shyam is left scrambling angrily to convince her that yes, there IS a difference ... he is very different from Arnav ... he loves her, while Arnav has only given her pain and hate ... and she pretends to be actually thinking it over ... while he tries to tell her softly how much he always loved her ...
Khushi leaves ... with one backward look ... letting the hate soften into confusion ... a look that reminds Shyam of the first time they met and he looked back at her ...

And that is exactly the way I wanted it to happen ... that Khushi maneuver Shyam so cleverly that HE has to convince her to take his help, not that she ask for it like the promo ...

And Khushi is almost home and dry :)) =D>

Khushi-NK ... as they go over their plan and how well it worked, down to divine intervention taking Khushi to Anjali's room to hear the sounds of the train and temple bells that she heard on the phone with Arnav, further confirming Shyam's involvement, and realising that even the phone call was probably part of Shyam's plan ... is he purposely misleading her? And of course NK had checked Shyam's whereabouts so that Khushi could ask Anjali for the money in his hearing, and fixed the guy to take the money from Khushi ... Khushi also tells NK about the property deal she is supposed to sign ... NK worried about the papers, but Khushi knows they are false, because Mr. Roy is fake, she has met the real one. A fake Mr. Roy is not going to buy any property in Arnav's name in a hurry!

Khushi tells NK that she told Shyam everything, because anyway he knows it all, the good thing is that Shyam has started to trust her ...
And she wants to return the money to Di ...

And finally her frustration and upset spills as she barely holds her tears back ... after all this, she still has no clue about Arnav and where he is ... how long does she have to play this game with that despicable man ...
NK reassures her and tells her to keep patience ... this was just the first step ... Shyam will lead them to Arnav sooner or later ...

Shyam sits back and gloats ... his plan is working ... it took time, but finally he saw the expression on her face that he's been waiting to see for so long ... and soon he will be the one to fulfill Khushi's dreams ... Arnav will leave her life ... and he, Shyam will be the one left closest to her ...
When VLR starts gloating, it means his plans are going to crash ... VLRji, it's Khushi's plans which are working, not yours ... finally!!!

Khushi by the poolside ... looking at the stars ... remembering Arnav and their poolside memories ... payal ... almost kiss ... poolside kiss ... love and romance is very much on Bitiya's mind ...:">
As it is on Arnav's mind, as he sits in captivity ... both yearning for the other ... when together, they lived with hate and anger, but apart, they long for each other, together even when apart ... mohabbat door jaane na de ...

Teri meri meri teri prem kahani hai mushkil
do lafzon mein yeh bayaan na ho paaye
Ek dooje se hue juda, jo ek dooje ke liye bane

Teri meri meri teri prem kahani hai mushkil
do lafzon mein yeh bayaan na ho paaye

The trademark grab and pull Arnav-Khushi move ... :">  the back hug reminiscent of the first Teri meri ... but followed this time by a caress ... and she moves away just as he starts to caress her ...
They came together ... and moved apart ...

She turns and looks back at him ...
Tujhse dil jo lagaya ... to jahan maine paaya
Kabhi socha na tha yeh milon door hoga saaya ...
An acknowledgment of his love ... he gave her his heart, and gained the world ... but he never knew he himself would drive her away ...
But she comes back to him ... because she can see his love now, even when he doesn't say the words ...
Kyun khuda tune mujhe aisa khwab dikhaya jab haqeeqat mein use todna tha ...
The night they met, the night in the hut when they knew without saying it, that they loved each other ... was that night only a dream? A dream come true ... till reality broke it ... and again they had to part ...
And she disappears even as he cups her face ...
He looks around for her ... she comes running from behind and holds him tight ... the way she was trying to hold on to him at the airport, to stop him, never let him go ...
Ek duje se hue juda, jo ek dooje ke liye bane ...
Teri meri meri teri prem kahani hai mushkil
Do lafzon mein yeh bayaan na ho paaye ...

And this time he doesn't leave, he holds her close and reassures her ...
Teri meri baaton ka har lamha sabse anjaana
Do lafzon mein yeh bayaan na ho paaye ...

But she has to go ... again ... with one last backward look ...
Another separation coming ...? But no MU this time ... a separation neither one of them wants ... she leaves with a last longing look, she doesn't want to go, but she has to ...

And Arnav returns to the present and sinks down again as his alter ego wakes up with a start ...
'Khushi!!!'

And Khushi at the poolside startled looks around instantly ... he called her ... looks here and there ... till she realizes it was a dream ...
As does he ...

BS needs to get back into Arnav/ASR's skin soon ... he was struggling at the start of the song ... his first expression was very strange! Improved with the first grab-pull ;) ... The way the song started, it seemed more like Khushi's dream than Arnav's, with her fb's and none of his. The ending again was strange ... too abrupt ... and WT* ... he sinks down and buries his head??!!! So is Arnav just going to wait tamely to be rescued, and then do the mandatory dhishum dhishum with Shyam to save Khushi right at the end? All brawn, no brain? :( :( :(  Shit!!!!

But whatever ... am a sucker for Arhi romance ... and the song itself after the start was good. Khushi looked like a dream in the blue and white, with the barely there choli and never-ending bare midriff ... this was definitely part of Arnav's dream ;)

Miscellaneous Musings

Caught a couple of other shows during the last few days.

Surprisingly, I liked the one episode I saw of Kya Hua Tera Vaada - a drama dealing with infidelity. Will follow it up when I can. Mona's boss is the guy who played the father in Aapki Antara, which was a very, very good show - the best researched show on a medical issue that I have ever seen on Indian telly. So it totally prejudiced me in favour of KHTV as soon as I saw the guy's face :))

Saw a couple of episodes of Madhubala, - not very impressed - it seems to be a copy of Om Shanti Om at the moment, with gender reversal and a bit of mish mash - Madhu's sister is the one with dreams, but her scenes are very reminiscent of SRK in OSO. Also the chawl sets and the general look gives a feel like a 70's BW movie. Acting is okay, not bad, but nothing that leaps out at you so far. It may pick up though - it's barely a few weeks old.

Punar Vivah is one I am following - one can watch a couple of episodes a week and get the gist of the story, and I like the focus on the kids rather than the wicked saas-bua angle. I watch while browsing online and it's decent. Acting is just okay, though. I like the youngest brother, he has improved since his LNMDJ days.

Phir Subah Hogi - I need to catch up, read the updates, and it appears they are planning a Vikram-Sugni romance. Want to see how that goes - I love Varun Badola. Sugni is good. I have seen a show with Narayani earlier, she's another decent actress.

Caught up with an episode of Parvarish - I enjoy it! The typical Punjabi families, their way of speaking, the humour in the dialogues - it's a fun watch. Nothing addictive the way a good love story is, but good fun and very entertaining. And the acting is good!

Weekend Discussion Post

The Friday post is reaching 200, so opened the new post. Girls, do you want to combine this and the Shiddat Post for the week, or keep them separate? Will edit accordingly.

Also I will shortly post a brief summary of the last week so that we can decode and discuss the current situation as it stands. And make our predictions for the week ahead. I am revising my thoughts in the light of the new spoiler we got - the final showdown is obviously postponed for a little longer. Just hope BS is back to shooting and the postponement is due to story demands and not due to his absence. If he has time to play a charity football match, I think he would have time to shoot for IPK.

For those who haven't heard, the new spoiler by Mishti is that there will be a reprise of Teri Meri, which will be Arnav's dream. Also heard that there is a gag order on the sets of IPK and SBS/ SBB and journalists are not allowed. So hopefully the climax of the track cometh soon :)

Didn't catch the SBS yesterday, what was it about? Someone post the link please :) Now that we know there are no track spoilers, we can relax the ban :))

Thoughts:
As things stand -
Khushi knows that Arnav has been kidnapped, Shyam is the kidnapper. She knows that Shyam knows that she and Mami are on the track and that they know about the kidnapping. She knows that Shyam does not know that NK also knows about the kidnapping, and definitely not about Shyam's involvement. So it makes sense for Khushi and NK to stay apart as far as possible in front of the entire family, not only Shyam - otherwise they risk Anjali coming up with remarks like 'Khushi and Mami/NK are bonding very well these days.' Their interactions have to be limited in front of everyone, and restricted to when they are alone and unobserved. So explains NK's absence in the last episode ... I expect him to surface in night scenes only with Khushi.

Mami does not know about Shyam's involvement. But Shyam knows that Mami does know about the kidnapping. Let Shyam watch the Khushi-Mami interactions, and feel that Khushi is on the track of some unknown kidnappers, and that Mami knows all about that.If Khushi is to tell Mami at some point about Shyam's involvement, then it has to be done in secret again. Why should she not tell Mami? Sandy had a reason ... Sandy, please repeat ;)

Shyam knows that Khushi does not trust him an inch, yet he expects her to tell him about Arnav's phone call. Logically, why should she? He has not yet promised to help her with finding Arnav yet. He has not even promised to tell Arnav the truth about his and Khushi's relationship, on the contrary, he's keeping it as a condition of finding the papers.
So logically, he first needs to win Khushi's trust before she tells him anything further. So I expect a scene on Monday where after the signing int he fake Roy's office, Shyam tells Khushi that he has helped to get a property signed in her name, that's a start to help her realising her goal, Khushi should retort she doesn't need his help, some more tu tu main main, where she finally says that he hasn't even agreed to tell Arnav the truth without demanding some papers in return, so why should she trust him. Upon which he promises to tell Arnav the truth regardless of papers, she then after some show of reluctance, thanks him ... maybe he also says that he has a bone to pick with Arnav and is on her side ... and then we get the promo scene or a version of it, she tells him about Arnav's call ... also telling him about the train and mandir bells. No harm telling him clues about Arnav's location, she knows he knows it. Or maybe she can leave out the clues about the location, because if he knows she has a hint of the location, he might move Arnav again ...
As Shyam doesn't know that Khushi knows he is the kidnapper, and he knows Arnav doesn't know it either, no problem if Arnav and Khushi talk - they can't exchange any more information than what he thinks they already have, except for the clues about Arnav's location. So again - has he planted those clues?

My kwostin again - how many abandoned warehouses does Shyam have at his disposal? :))

I am presuming that Khushi and NK are completely together in this 'trick Shyam' plan. So NK knows that Khushi is going to try to win Shyam's trust, hence again, it's advisable for him to keep distance from Khushi, so that Shyam doesn't feel they have any special understanding.
I am also going to assume that when Khushi and NK were debating on Thursday as to Shyam's motive, Khushi finally had the brainwave of checking the photo of the papers in her phone. And the Will has given her a clue as to the motive. I assume this from the way she confronted Shyam with her motive - that she wants Arnav's wealth. Also noticed that Khushi confirmed to Shyam that she doesn't want Arnav's wealth per se - she wants it for revenge.
What should puzzle her is what was puzzling all of us - then why is Shyam keeping Arnav alive? But all the more reason to speed up the investigation - because if she doesn't know that reason, then Arnav's life is in danger. It's also a reason to inform the police, but quietly and clandestinely ... NK can do that as Shyam has no suspicion of him at the moment. However, that would be a logical thing to do ... so don't know if that will be done!

Since Shyam has no clue of NK's involvement, NK is the ace up Khushi's sleeve - he can do all the silent behind-the-scenes fact finding, things like arranging the man to collect the money from Khushi, eavesdropping on Shyam's phone conversations, hopefully the ones with the fake Mr Roy included, so that Khushi and NK can keep a step ahead of Shyam in this game.

Mami is useful as a front for the more obvious of Khushi's drama ... Khushi keeps her up to date with the information that she wants Shyam to have ... like that she is going near Buaji's house, dual purpose - telling Mami indirectly that her trip has to do with the kidnapping, and letting Shyam feel that Mami is still in with Khushi, and confirming they haven't stopped hunting for Arnav, but also that Mami has no clue about Khushi's "real' vendetta. So Shyam knows that Mami is with Khushi in the hunt for Arnav, but she doesn't know about the badla part, so Khushi won't tell her about the Roy trip obviously, and is giving Mami a red herring about going to hunt for Arnav. Whew!!!

Too many wheels within wheels ... truly a chakravyuh from which it will be difficult to come out.

15/6 - Epi 276 ... Chakravyuh

Friday 15th June

Abhimanyu went into the chakravyuh without knowing his way out. Is Khushi doing the same thing?

She knows her way in ... her end goal ... fool Snakewa into thinking she wants Arnav back to trick him into signing over his property and wealth. Does she know that coincides with his goal? And what is her end goal? To get hom to admit that he kidnapped Arnav? Or just to fool him into releasing Arnav so that she can help in the same goal? But she doesn't know his goal yet, does she?

What was all that about the papers? What is she signing? Hope unlike her errant husband, she reads the papers properly before signing them. Did she hear the "Mr Roy" on the phone tell Shyam 'aapka kaam ho gaya' before he disconnected the phone?

Arnav bitwa ... tch tch ... don't know whether to laugh or to *head desk* Do the cv's really have a Master Plan lined up for him? He wants to say "sorry" to Khushi for hitting her - that's the most important thing?! And the utter vagueness about his whereabouts ... he's pacing around all untied, hasn't picked up any clues about where he is, other than there are mandir ki ghantis and trains running around him?

Unfortunately, again when Barun makes an appearance, the quality of the script falters. Didn't feel the Rabba ve for the first time ... I was busy mentally shouting at the two of them to get a move on and exchange the really important information, instead of wasting time on the 'sorry'! And when Khushi tells him about Shyam, of course he's not listening!

The Khushi-Shyam showdown was good ... liked the way Khushi 'accidentally' let out the bit about knowing Arnav has been kidnapped ... Shyam tried to cover it up oh-so-casually ... and she goes, 'ayn mauke pe Arnavji got kidnapped,' as though grumbling at the timing, couldn't Arnavji have been kidnapped at a later, more convenient date instead of messing up my plans?

If Khushi wasn't in love with Arnav, this 'badla' story would actually be very feasible and interesting ... somewhat like some Sidney Sheldon novels, where the heroine goes all out to trick the man who pretends to love her, then betrays her ... she pretends to love him back, then betrays him in turn ... I think the Revenge series started off that way, though there Daniel was only collateral damage for Amanda, not the main goal.

So Khushi passes the second test, but not yet the first ... will she realise that Shyam is testing her and pass the first one too? DM, please ... some help here?! Thank you, DM ... aapki jai ho!

My thought for Friday was that it would be planning for battle, with maybe the first start ... seems I'm lagging behind a little ... Khushi is already well into the war. And this Shyam-Khushi showdown I did not expect! I was wondering how she would try to convince him about that 'shatru ko haraane ke liye shatru ka saath dena padta hai' ... it was well done, with Khushi sticking to exactly the same attitude towards Shyam that she has always shown, and just adding the additional hate towards Arnav.

*edited with a quick run through of the main points, as we have already discussed the episode threadbare!*
Anjali gives Khushi the money without a single question :) Nice nanad! Although, hang on, the money is Arnav's, so technically Khushi has first right to it anyway.
Maata ke mandir mein pooja that evening ... whole family is invited.

Khushi gives random man the money and tells him she wants ASR's nakli signature. And she wants them by hook or by crook. He will get the rest of the money after 'the job' is done.
Khushi's starting words 'paise, paise, paise.' So has she discovered Shyam's true motive is money?

Shyam eavesdrops, as he was meant to. Khushi starts the performance of her life ... appalled to see Shyam there, leaves without a word.

Shyam-Khushi showdown at home ...
Shyam - why are you scared? Who was that man?
Khushi - I don't know ... what man?
Shyam threatens ... she tells him not his business.
He threatens back - I heard all your talk.
What did you hear?
It's my turn to ask questions. Who was that man?
Get out of my way - defiant, angry. I don't owe you any explanations.
Shyam - repeats her own words back to her - this is only half the money, The rest when the job is done.
Khushi appalled - he heard the entire conversation?!
Shyam twitches gloatingly - That's what you said, isn't it? Why did you want so much money? That man didn't look like he was from any school. And there's no such school near Buaji's house. Now will you tell me?
I've got you in a soup, now you have to tell me everything.
She tries to deny, he overrides ... 'tell me, otherwise ...'
'Otherwise what? Are you threatening me?!'
'Tell me why you want Arnav's signature.'
'Leave me alone ... I don't have to tell you anything.'
'What is going on in your mind? What do you want to do?!'
Still the show of anger ... she can't give in too quickly ... 'I don't want to talk to you.'
'You have to tell me.' Physically blocking her way.

Finally 'gives in' in a temper. 'All right - I'll tell you! I want his signature, because I want everything. His money, his property, his business, his house, everything. Each and every little piece - ek ek tukda.'

Shyam's turn to be appalled.
'Why?!'
'Because I want to break him, destroy him ... from inside out. I want to see him in agony.'

IF THIS IS TRUE, IT'S A DAMN GOOD TWIST!!! AND TRULY NEVER SEEN BEFORE ON INDIAN TELLY!!!
*hides face* okay, okay, I was just saying ... :)) And Sanaya made it bloody believable!!! It actually struck me on repeat watch - especially when I remembered the Sidney Sheldon novel Rage of Angels. But would the cv's dare to do something like this?
And if it happens, it will be major Gloatwa ve :))

'He destroyed me in front of my family, the world, left me with nothing. Now he has to pay. I'm tired of keeping that pain, those insults hidden inside me ... but now the time was coming for me to get my revenge. And then he went and spoilt it all by getting himself kidnapped.'
Tch tch ... she sounded really annoyed - how could Arnav be so careless as to get kidnapped at such an inconvenient time =))

Shyam listening appalled and shocked, just manages to remember he's not supposed to know aboutt he kidnapping. So he gives a performance of his own ... and it's very, very weak in front of Khushi's show stopping one :)) If she didn't already know he was involved, she would have suspected it now for sure!
Kidnapped? Saale sahab? Really? when did that happen? How ... what ... when ...?
Khushi says she doesn't know, and can't tell anyone either. But she has to get Arnav back, so that she can complete her plan.
And then she stops, as though appalled at herself for letting out so much.
Shyam is shocked she felt that way. He thought she hated only him.

She disabuses his mind of that notion. 'Nope, I hate you both. You deceived me, and he never tried to understand me. Just threatened me into marriage (she knows Shyam knows that?), destroyed me ... and now I want ... revenge!'
And she glares at him, hatred in her eyes.
And turns and leaves.
Shyam looks after her thoughtfully - should he believe her?

So a test - Arnav in dark room with temple bells clanging in the background ... Shyam slaps KN ... throws his phone conveniently into Arnav's cell. And drags KN out ... all still without a word.

Arnav runs to the phone, puts it together and calls ... Khushi.
And gust of wind returns ... silence as they sense each other immediately ... and say the names simultaneously ... both in tears ...
Khushi actually regains her senses first ... and her voice ... 'Arnavji, where are you? Where have they kept you? Listen, I have to tell you something very important ... I know who's behind all this ...'
She once hid a big truth from him, not again ...

He cuts her off ... he has something more important to tell her ... *head desk* like really, Arnav??!!!

And Shyam waits ... 'your first test, Khushi ... you said you hate Arnav, you want revenge. Now let me see if you tell me about this call.'
Shyam ... duh, duffer ... she also said she hates you, remember? And doesn't trust you because you deceived her. Why the heck would she tell you about this call? You have to win her trust first ... idiot!!!

Khushi tries to cut Arnav off ... 'this is more important ...'
'No, what I have to say is more important ... I'm sorry, Khushi ... sorry I hurt you ... I had to, otherwise those people would have hurt you, and that I couldn't have borne ...'
If Khushi had any doubts that he meant that ILU, these words would banish it for sure ...
She knows her man now ... knows he can't say it with words ... only with his actions ... and his silence begs for her understanding ...
'Khushi, I asked you to forgive me ... but I will never be able to forgive myself ... I hurt you ...'
And she knows now how much he hurts when someone he loves is hurt ...

The sounds of a train recalls her to her senses ... the ILU's can wait ... 'where are you?!'
He doesn't know ... 'it's a closed room (well, duh ... you're a captive, dude!) ... it's dark ... and I keep hearing trains coming and going ... maybe close to a station ... and temple bells ...'
Keep hearing? So is this a set up by Shyam or not?

She registers the information ... 'train station and temple bells ... where could this be ... okay, I will think, but before that, I need to tell you ... I know who's behind this ...'
Some temple bells and hello, hellos happen ... how can a simple conversation happen uninterrupted?
And she finally tells him ... 'Shyam is behind all this ...'
But too late ...
'Yes, it's Shyam ... he's a scoundrel of the first order ... your blood was on his shoes, your passport, boarding pass is with him ... I have all the proof ... are you listening?!'
Of course he isn't ... when did he ever listen to the important things?  Mr KN makes an opportune reappearance, hunting for his phone ... Arnav sits on it quietly ... KN leaves ...(is that a file he looked at? And why the good manners suddenly? Why didn't he ask Arnav to get up?)
And of course by the time he leaves, and Arnav gets back on the phone ... 'Khushi, you were saying something' ... the battery goes dead ...
So Khushi thinks she has told him about Shyam, Arnav has no clue ... and Khushi starts to wonder ... train and mandir bells ... where, where?

Shyam's next test ... call from fake 'Mr. Roy' with fake moustache ... property deal by Arnav, she needs to sign in his place, as Arnav is out of the country. The property will then come into her name, but of course that's okay, as she's Arnav's wife ...
Khushi wonders as she puts down the phone. Her signatures?

SN - where does Shyam have the money to pay so many goons?

'Roy' informs Shyam his work is done.
Next morning, Khushi is off ...
Shyam gives Anjali some song CD's ... what is this?
Anjali asks Khushi if she gave the money to the BV? Mami wondering ... 'what BV? Where is this?' And asks Khushi silently, what are you up to?
Shyam notes Mami's look to Khushi ... Khushi notes that Shyam is watching her and Mami. And Shyam knows that Mami knows about the kidnapping ... so its okay to give Mami a hint in front of Shyam ...
She's going to meet the trustee of the BV ... Mami asks again, 'where is this BV?!'
In other words, where are you going?

'Near Buaji's house ...'
Mami says ok ... so Khushi is still on track of the investigation ...

And Shyam's test is a simple one ... will she go to Roy to get the property in her name? Or will she go to track Arnav first? Priority?

Precap - so Khushi passed the first test by going to 'Roy' first. Now the call?

Thoughts are very jumbled ... have posted on the next post.

14/6 - Epi 275 ... Let the Mind Games Begin :)

Thursday 14th June

I already have a title in mind - let me see if the episode goes the way I think it will ;)

Edit - didn't go exactly the way I thought, but close enough ;)
Further data collection - check.
Put pieces together - check.
Full knowledge of Shyam's plan - not yet, only partial.
Formulate plan of action - check.
Start implementing it - one step ahead of the game.
The title stays :)

Quick take as I have an early morning start tomorrow ... this episode needs lots of decoding :)

Khushi opens briefcase, finds Arnav's passport and ticket. Hence proved - Shyam is involved without a doubt. She wants to accuse Shyam straight off, NK tells her to wait.
They need to return the papers.
Anjali stops Shyam from going up during the havan. Giving NK-Khushi breathing space to do the needful. Shyam twitching at his watch.
Khushi getting more and more angry ... while DM music plays ... Khushi ready to dharo Shakti roop - DM firmly by her side.
She goes off to return papers.
Shyam gets his call and moves to go up. NK calls Khushi back. Khushi pretends to stumble, she has to stop Shyam going up.
Drama of sprained ankle. Exchanges places and envelope with NK. Using Shyam's weakness against him ... well done!
Payal gets her memory back and becomes Jiji again ... no, you don't touch my sister, you creep. :)

NK replaces paper - takes his own sweet time about doing it! Khushi sees him return and stops the drama ... uh oh, NK still has the key ... he goes to put it back ... trapped by Shyam's return. Overhears ... Shyam wants to show Arnav actually entered Scotland ... manages to escape just in time.

Shyam Manohar Jha, do you actually want to put a fake Immigration Stamp on Arnav's passport? Am pretty sure that's a a grave felony in every which way ...

NK and Khushi debate about Shyam's plan ... what exactly is Shyam planning to do, and why? No ransom note yet either, what does he want? Of course, they don't know about the two wills.
So Khushi puts a counter plan into action ... and Shyam is for once baffled ... why does Khushi need the money?
Let the mind games begin :))

Some few weeks back, when this whole kidnap saga started, we had a shiddat - mind games between Shyam and Khushi - with Khushi winning. Looks like it's slowly gonna come true.

*edited*
Quick update today, as hubby is home sick with a cold, and won't let me sit on my lappy for too long ;)

Thoughts:
Story movement today -
Shyam's involvement in Arnav's kidnapping is conclusively proved with finding Arnav's boarding pass and passport in his briefcase.
Khushi, with DM's blessing, is ready to dhaaran karo Shakti roop and wage war.
NK is her friend and guide ... Hanuman fits him better today, the way he was looking under the pillows for a briefcase :)) and strolled out with the key, and had to rush to put it back.
However, he is part of DM's army, and this too happened for a purpose ... he overheard Shyam's conversation with SK Travels about putting a fake Scotland stamp on Arnav's passport.
NK and Khushi action plan gets ready and the first phase is put into action. Khushi asks Anjali for two lakh rupees in Shyam's hearing, together with an excuse that Shyam knows is fabricated.

Yesterday I said Payal would form rear guard action in DM's army ... today she confirmed it by remembering that VLR is Creepwa and should not be allowed anywhere close to her younger sister.

Anjali prevents Shyam from going upstairs and finding the missing passport. Shyam's words - aap toh hamara koi hathiyar kaam ka nahin chodti. So will Anjali finally nullify Shyam's most potent weapon - which was the need for Arnav and Khushi to hide his truth from Anjali in the first place?

Also Anjali's words to Khushi - are you really not in pain, or are you just saying it to not trouble us?

Scenes I loved -
Khushi's anger, rage and helpless fury as she gazes at Shyam during the aarti ... his double face exposed to her completely :x With the background music, very apparent that the final showdown is approaching, as Khushi gets ready with DM's blessings to don Shakti roop. Excellent expressions by Sanaya, and added to by the great bg score. Also liked the way NK had to put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
Payal snatching Khushi's hand from Shyam, snatching the balm from his hand when it seemed he was ready to apply it :)
Khushi-NK wordless teamwork ... Khushi goes up, followed by Shyam with his sudden phone call, NK sees, stops Khushi immediately, Khushi sees Shyam, comes back, has to stop him so the sprained ankle drama, passes the passport envelope to NK on the stairs, NK takes over while Khushi distracts Shyam, gritting her teeth and using his weakness for her for the very first time ... keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. Again, fabulous emoting by Sanaya here - the momentary closing of eyes as she mentally prepares herself to do something she hates doing ... then holds Shyam's hand ...
Also Shyam's anger as Payal snatches the balm from him, preventing him from touching Khushi again ... and the way he looks at his hand which Khushi just held ... yes, Khushi is still Shyam's weakness ... the question is which weakness is greater, Khushi or money?

Is Masala Mama there for a purpose? Him and his timely phone calls?

Khushi is prepared to use her enemy's weakness against him, however much it makes her gag. Her enemy's weakness happens to be - her. So now she has an action plan -
Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed ... Google baba ki jai :)
Four principles used to attain success in a task, or to extract truth from a culprit.
Saam refers to use of influence, ‘sweet words’ or any non materialistic influential factor that can be used.
Daam is money, though I would like to call it any materialistic wealth that can be used, it includes bribing too.

Dand means punishment, to punish by some means in order to achieve desired result.

Bhed means to divide and rule. Also remembered the old saying 'ghar ka bhedi Lanka dhaaye' ... bhed also means secret or deceit ...

So Khushi is prepared to deceive Shyam to get to Arnav.
Daam - The two lakhs - will she use money to bribe the KN? Or to pretend to Shyam that she has gotten a ransom demand and she is ready to pay it? Thus leading to
Bhed - divide and rule between Shyam and his goons - he thinks they are selling him out because he can't decide what to do with Arnav and his plans are stuck - as is their money? And let Shyam catch her, and then pretend to 'let out by accident' about the kidnapping and how worried she has been ... and then allow him to help her ...
Saam - part of the bhed - sweet talking Shyam.
Dand ... will come right at the end, of course.

Final thought - the dress Khushi is wearing - she wore it for the first time on the ME, when she bid farewell to Arnav. Will she be wearing it when he returns?

13/6 - Epi 274 ... The Army Lines Up

Wednesday 13th June

Devi Maiyya gets her army into place for the final battle - Khushi's scenes today were in order of length with the members of her army
Khushi - the leader
NK - the lieutenant ... or saarthi, as mentioned yesterday
Mami- the wise old General ... she may be wounded but she's very much in command
Payal - the rear guard

Hope Arnav has a role to play here, otherwise BS stands in danger of having abandoned one of the defining roles of his career for useless glitter ...

The Raksha dhaaga which Shyam gave Arnav, was nestled with the key to Arnav's locker which started the entire kidnapping drama ... the Raksha Havan comes with the key to open another lock, which could land up ending it ...

Khushi-NK ... set up drama of returning shoes, finding stain, offering to clean, brusquely refused, and peep in to see KJ frantically cleaning stain himself ... hence proved, Shyam has a secret to hide. NK recruited, takes up position of command. Loved the way he scolded Khushi - what did you think, you would barge in and accuse him and he would accept it? And Khushi distraught again, I didn't think, I can't think, it's about Arnav ...
And NK is the last member of the family to see it - now the whole family has - seen the love, worry and care of Khushi for Arnav ...

Khushi-Mami ... was missing Mami the last two days, she made welcome reappearance, with a logical reason for her absence, and very annoyed about it too ... don't think I'm retired hurt, I'm very much part of the investigation ... you gotta love Mami :)) I was actually smiling to see her back on screen! :)

NK knows Mami knows everything except about Shyam, Mami knows NK knows about the kidnapping. Wonder of wonders, people are actually communicating here!

Khushi-Nani ... Nani informs about the Raksha havan ... and asks Khushi, who's on the top of the list for Raksha? Arnav, of course ... so Nani might be the next to know about the rescue Arnav mission.

Khushi-Payal ... Payal as blind as ever, provides Khushi with an excuse for being where she was ... and Khushi finds the key ... Khushi sweetheart, instead of staring at it, open the damn briefcase! Although am glad she took time out to remember DM ... DM, please take care, we're depending on you here!

Last but not least - Shyam-Anjali ... and travel agent.

Precap - Shyam has Arnav's passport and a boarding card ... which can be issued if you travel business class a maximum of 48 hours prior to departure. So is Shyam planning to ship Arnav out of the country to kill him? How exactly can he ship a grown man without his consent?
Okay, will wait til tomorrow before asking all those questions ... for tonight, the episode was good again ... kept me on edge throughout ...although the search for the keys was a bit stretched ... Khushiji, filler mat karo ;)

*edited*

Again loved the individual scenes - there was attention to detail and my complaint of yesterday was taken care of immediately - why did Khushi rush to accuse Shyam? NK immediately scolded for her impetuosity, it could have ruined everything.
So NK returns Shyam's shoes, and carefully, casually, points out the blood stain ... 'do you know what this stain is? How could this have gotten here?' and checks Shyam's reaction ...
NK'ism ... aapki izzat liye bina aapke joote try kar liye ... not ready to accuse Shyam of anything yet, till he gets proof, giving him a chance, because it's too fantastic a thought ... but once he does, Shyam's izzat is gone ...

Shyam remembers immediately the fight ... although I still didn't see how Arnav's blood, and that too, such a huge blob got onto the shoe through the hood ...thankfully the blood has dried by now, otherwise I would suspect Arnav had hemophilia along with his other many 'takniki kharabis' ...

Shyam is flabbergasted for a minute, then recovers ...snatches the shoe back before NK can mention what he thinks the stain is ... all noticed by alert NK ... and NK exchanges first look with Khushi, yes maybe there is something to what you said ...

NK acts all casual again ... ok, Jiju ... I can clean this stain for you if you like ... won't take a minute ... he takes the shoe from Shyam, and Shyam snatches the shoe back instantly, flustered immediately ... 'no, not at all ...'
And now NK's antennae are up ... another look at Khushi ... yes, definitely this is not a normal reaction ...you're right, Khushi ...
Shyam has to make a visible effort to act normal ... an unsuspecting person might have let it pass ... but the alert NK can see it clearly ...'I'll get them polished, you don't worry ...'
NK leaves, joins a waiting Khushi outside ... his bent head acknowledges she was right ... they peek in through the door Shyam has shut so firmly ... to see him quickly wiping the red stain with a wet cloth ...
Khushi asks NK quietly ...'now do you believe me?'
NK responds with a tiny nod ... and they both look grim ... now what?!

NK-Khushi again in her room ... felt really glad for Khushi that she finally had someone she could share her burden with ... what does she do? How should she tell the family?
NK asks ... does no one in the family know anything? and Khushi tells him that Mami does know about the kidnapping, but not about Shyam ... so NK is brought up to date with all the progress ... finally people are communicating!!!
NK also blasts Khushi about accusing Shyam without thinking ... if Shyam had been there instead of NK, what would have happened? Did she really think accusing Shyam like that was a good idea? Would he have just accepted it?
And Khushi knows she was stupid, but she was distraught, she wasn't thinking ... it's about Arnav after all ...
and NK also sees the depth of Khushi's feelings for Arnav ...
Liked the way Khushi is still hesitant to actually use the word 'pyaar' in her feelings or Arnav's ... looks like Arnav is going to have to really work for that confession from her ... am I happy or am I happy? :))

Nani enters the picture ... last night after the episode, I was wondering - where is she in the army? The wise Bhishma Pitamah? The matriarch of the house, torn between the two sides, knowing that right is on one side, but duty-bound to support the other?
Raksha havan tomorrow morning ... for protection ... and you know who's on top of Anjali's list, Khushi bitiya?
Khushi murmurs ... Arnav ... Nani nods.

NKisms ... 'baatein bana rahe the' ... and they will continue making up stories for the family ... to keep them in the dark about Shyam ...
'Khushiji, filler mat kijiye ...' :)) so are the filler episodes coming to an end, and the showdown coming up?
'Nannav ko unke chumbak se/ changul se chhuda ke le aayenge ...' hope that one refers to Barun's movie ... we'll get him back from there ... :)
And warns Khushi ...'we have to be careful, keep watch on Shyam all the time ...'

Next morning, true to word, NK-K keeping eyes on Shyam ... VLR lost in his papers and in the next stage of his plan ... lies to Anjali, 'I'm going to court ...'
Anjali catches him ... 'you're lying ' ... and very seriously this time ... 'why are you going to a travel agent?'
Shyam bluffs his way out again ... 'I want to take you on a holiday ..' Anjali happy ... 'how much you think about me ...'
Anjali bitiya, if not you, who would he take for a holiday? The family dog?
And she tells him to come for the havan ... raksha for their baby ...
Nani told Khushi the raksha was for Arnav. Anjali tells Shyam it is for their baby. Looks like Anjali knows how to play her husband as well as she does the others in RM. He can't refuse for their baby's sake.
He has an appointment, but she's not listening ... well, he's her ghulam ... so Shyam is not letting go of Anjali that easily ...

NK will explore Shyam's room once he has left it ... Khushi tells him Shyam's combination number - 666 :))
Damien ... The Omen ... the Devil's number ...

Havan under way ... the first since Khushi broke off and then made up with her Devi Maiyya ...

And Manorama Mami is back ... with a reason for her absence ... a sprained ankle. I'm so happy to see her back! :)
Akash ... Maate, you know everything ... yes, she does ... well, almost ... so she will find out the rest of the truth soon too.
Mami is annoyed at being left out of the investigations ... why is Khushi ignoring her? Far cry from the days when she didn't even want to look at Khushi!
Khushi brings her first partner up to date ... NK is now in the know. Mami is happy, at least the investigation can continue, but she wants all the information all the time.
Mami is very much part of the army. And judging by the positions at the havan, she's at the head ... flanked by NK and Khushi ... right in front of Devi Maiyya.
On one side sit Shyam-Anjali, together ... Anjali will not believe Shyam's truth any time soon ...
On the other side sit Payash ... they will believe or disbelieve together ... probably believe, as Payal knows Shyam's truth, and Akash will believe his mother and Arnav ...

Nani not shown (except a fleeting glimpse of her BD ... but she has already taken position ... Bhishma Pitamah ... her heart with the righteous side, but forced by duty to align with the unrighteous? Has to give Anjali strength, so will pretend to be on her side, her and Shyam's.

And Khushi is now in constant conversation with her DM :) ... forgive me, I need to leave this havan ... you know why ...
NK was unsuccessful ... he couldn't find the key, because HP came by ... HP again :)
Khushi goes to make an attempt to find the key ...
Shyamu twitching uncomfortably ...
Devi Maiyaa smiling ... jaa Khushi beta, find the key ... to the TF's plan ...

Khushi almost finds the papers taped under the crib ... will she find those also tomorrow?
Khushi tells herself not to give up, DM is with her ... DM smiles again ... yes, I am, my daughter. :)

Finding the key scene was a bit stretched ... understandably so ... Payal interrupts Khushi in her search, and is unsurprisingly unsurprised to find her hunting for her earring in Di's room ... and doesn't explain why she also came there ... is the SA room the new Mumbai Central?

Khushi thanks Devi Maiyya again ... and Devi Maiyya gives her the key, smiling away ... here you go, my daughter ...

The best thing Khushi ever did was to go back to Devi Maiyya ... DM got into action real quick!!!
Devi Maiyya's army is now ready for the final battle ...

Thoughts:
Like I said in the title, the episode was about getting the army into action. So I saw lots of symbolism, getting into position and taking up arms ... almost felt like getting ready for the battle of Mahabharata.

Monday we saw the face of the Boss being exposed, along with a flashback of his entire plan.
Tuesday we saw NK being co-opted into the army, he got part of the story, the kidnapping, but had reservations about the Shyam part.
Wednesday NK is fully recruited, and the first phase of battle starts ... get the arms and ammunition ready and start gauging the enemy's strengths and weaknesses, and their plans.
Thursday will be further data collection, putting the pieces together and getting full knowledge of Shyam's plan ... starting to formulate a plan of action
Friday will complete the battle plan, probably with some planning at the other end ... Arnav's side ...
And the start of the seige ... and the battle ...
And if Sandy's number theories are correct - which they have been twice before, then 666 = 18th June is the beginning of the final battle (of course it could also just be the final return of Barun on the sets, but I think it will be both).
