21/1 - Epi 17 ... Breakdown

Tuesday 21st Jan

What an episode! The start scene and the end scene had me on the edge ... the middle scenes filled in the gaps and rounded the edges nicely.

A parched Paro panics again on seeing her nemesis Rudra ... who faints on seeing her ... or rather from his unattended wounds ... finally!
And Sanaya deserves all the acting awards this year for the scene which followed ...a half-crazed, delirious Paro goes into shock, pulls the gun on the unconscious Rudra, but can't bring herself to shoot him ... his chacha manages to talk her out of pulling the trigger on Rudra, only to find her point the gun at her own temple, utter hopelessness, despair, grief written on her face ... he talks her into dropping the gun and she does so and collapses into helpless racking sobs ... the gun goes off, the shot startles her again ... her wide terrified eyes show her panic ... then she collapses in a final breakdown ... her tears splash onto Rudra's eyes and revive him slightly ... and chacha gets him dragged off to hospital ... about time too!

Doctor tries to talk some sense into Rudra ... not happening, he's too worried about Paro's whereabouts ... where is the girl?! Aman tries to calm Rudra, again not happening, he wants Paro under his eyes every minute, she has to be near him ... because she's their most important witness ... yeah, right.
In the meantime, doctor, who is actually the hired killer, gets ready to pump in a bright red poison into Paro's iv line ... just so that no one can miss it. And of course, is stopped by the timely entrance of Aman, under Rudra's orders ...

Rudra's chacha makes his introduction ... so Rudra and he have not met for the last fifteen years...
A very nice scene ... a loving chacha, who misses both his brother and nephew, tries to reach out ... a bitter Rudra, reminded again of old wounds, refuses the outstretched hand ... refutes the proffered relationship ... but the tears in his eyes say otherwise.

Doctor on late night rounds, is annoyed to find that Paro has been shifted into Rudra's room, and her security and care hijacked by Rudra ... his chance stymied again ...
Rudra doesn't take his eyes off Paro for a second ...

Doctor dispatched ... he's not giving up, he leaves a sedative for Rudra under the guise of antibiotics ...

Aman dispatched with a curt 'Good night, Aman' ...
I like Aman! :)

Rudra, still watching Paro, almost takes the tablet ... but Paro's nightmare starts just then with a shouted 'nahin' ... and he doesn't take the tablet ...

Paro's nightmare ... a breakdown, even in sleep  ... the shocks and trauma of the day bring back the old nightmare ... as Rudra watches in helpless horror ... and then struggles to contain her struggles ... and succeeds just as her hand clasps his rudraksha ... protector of Paro always ...
Inka saath hai jaise maati sang kumhar ...
Maati ban jaave hai murat, laage iska haath
Chhaap tilak dono ki hove
Jab hove yeh saath

Precap ... so the doctor succeeds in his task, but is caught by Rudra ... will his poison work, or will Rudra save Paro in time?
SN - of course he will save Paro in time ... he's the hero and Paro the heroine :)))

  1. Brilliant epi but am curious - how come Rudra had such a distance to run when the interrogation room was next to his office?

    1. Exactly Aki, even I thought the same. All is fair in serial world too. We should send our logical minds to go for a holiday:)

    3. *Oops*kaan pakad* buri aadatein jaldi nahin chut ti :(

Anyways, his long run at least imbued his fall at Paro's feet with a certain air of heroism, is lite chalta hai :)))

The opening scenes in yesterday's epi were excellent, all the actors were superb and Sanaya's especially was brilliant! Fervently hope and wish she gets all the accolades she so rightly deserves!

  2. Hi Dia
Brilliant update along with a fantastic episode. Sanaya is really doing a magnificent job portraying all the emotions of a bewildered and completely shattered girl. She does deserve to be acknowledged for her work.
Her co-star is also doing a great, he does seem to know how,to act and act well.
Looking forward to more of your updates and reading all comments.
    Take care

    1. Hey Lin,
Nice to see you back ... you're watching the show? Do you get subtitles on Colors? Though I have to say, Sanaya has had very few dialogues in this show ... it's mostly been about her acting ... and boy, is she acing that department! Yesterday the first scene was brilliant ... she was simply fantastic! I had a lump in my throat watching Paro breakdown.

Ashish is very good too ... finally an actor who matches her in talent. I like all the supporting cast as well ... Rudra's uncle was good too, and his scene with Rudra was touching ... understated and well played by both.

I'll have more time to spend here tomorrow ... my daughter is still here and leaves tonight, and my project takes off tomorrow ... so a busy couple of days ahead! After that, I want to write more on some of the good scenes in the show ... there are quite a few.

      Take care!

  3. Just want to say Sanaya was brilliant in the first scene. The utter despair, helplessness, anguish so well portrayed. Also liked the Rudra and his uncle scene, it was very well enacted by both actors and poignant. The single tear streaming down Rudra's cheek was well picturized.

Loved all the off screen segments today. Sanaya seems to have brought out the funny side of Ashish already :))

    1. Uma, wasn't she?!!! She was simply amazing! I watched the episode late, saw the forum comments first, and everyone was going gaga over the last scene ... but when I watched the episode, the first scene was SO powerful ... Sanaya enacted it beautifully, she was simply amazing ... the range of emotions of her face ... her fear, terror, the half-crazed look, the dazed helpless hopelessness as she put the gun on her own temple ... the range of emotions as she seemed to register what chacha was saying and finally dropped the gun ... the terror again at the noise of the shot ... and the final breakdown ... you saw Paro through and through in that scene ... there was no trace of Sanaya.

And the chacha was just right as the voice of reason in the background ...speaking calmly but with that hint of urgency in his voice, as though he knew he had to stay calm so as not to pull the trigger for the frightened Paro, but at the same time realising the urgency of the situation, what a fragile thread she was hanging on. Fantastic scene!!!

Rudra and his uncle scene was also very good ... again that scene had a soul ... understated, the emotions all simmering under the surface ... the older man reaching out ... the younger one still bitter and unable to reciprocate ... the wounds run deep, but they still hurt ... as evidenced by that single tear ... even though Rudra's voice is all 'officer on duty' ...

I need to re-watch the offscreen segments ... hectic day, daughter leaving so have been rushing around doing her last minute jobs ... it was really nice to see the masti between Sanaya, Ashish and 'Aman' :) Sanaya seems to have broken the ice well and truly!!! :))) What a ray of sunshine she is! Lovely girl, inside and out!

  4. Beautiful take Dia!!! I was waiting for ur post late night, then finally dozed off. Some brilliant performances and an engrossing episode. Sanaya is Paro. I'm so glad that she's playing this character. Both deserves each other. Hope Paro brings all those awards that has to come her way. I liked the chacha-Rudra scene. Again impressed with RR casting. Aman is slowly making an impact. The actor playing Aman is quite good, subtle in acting. The way he looks Paro with concern , at the sametime follows Rudra's orders very obediently....Hope gets more scenes with Paro.... I liked him in the village scene too, the way he remind Rudra to leave .. a much needed aid for our hero whose brain doesn't work in anger. I'm enjoying the 20 or so mins of RR :)

    1. Thanks, Lakshmi! I saw the episode late ... was out for dinner, and after reading about it, I wanted to watch it on the big screen first, so waited till 12 for the repeat ... I am so glad Colors has changed the repeat timing o 12 instead of 12.30!

Yep, Aman is very cute too ... the casting so far is spot on. He plays the faithful Lakshman type of follower very well ... and I have a feeling he will become Paro's biggest supporter in a short while.

    2. No issues Dia!! IF was gaga over the episode. Wanted to know from your pov. For me it's always easy to relate with your views. It has become a habit from IPK days. So you have plans to write more on few scenes. Will be looking forward to read. If Aman become her support is quite possible and will be a treat to see Rudra's reaction, Because Paro will be sceptical towards Rudra till she comes to know the whole picture.

LOL Dia ,finally a likeable Aman , not the IPK kabab me haddi :) May be Aman is the good luck charm for Sanya's shows:)

How are you all girls ?Hope all izz well

Thought I'd check in as I am enjoying RR - I like Ashish - he is a very good actor - he was very effective in Rab se sona too so Sanaya finally has a co-star who can act at her level - story and writing is good so far so hopes are high ...

    1. Hey Sri! Nice to see all the old members trickling back ... hope that Rangrasiya is an even bigger feather in Sanaya's cap than IPK was! It's going well so far ... not as subtle in the storytelling as IPK was ... but its on a grander, larger than life scale ... as long as they keep the story telling brisk, I think it will do well. They seem to have a good story going ... hope there are no off screen shenanigans to rock the boat this time. Don't think there will be ... Ashish seems as dedicated to his work, and as serious about it as Sanaya is ... so let's hope we get the full story as planned by the cv's this time. He is definitely as good an actor as Sanaya is ... no wonder she is happy working with him.
