17/1 - Epi 15 ... Abandoned

Friday 17th Jan

A pawn in the battle between two men, abandoned by all her near and dear ones, by her village, her family, her world ... the living dead ... the emptiness in her eyes shows her hopelessness ...

But before that ... Rudra tries logic with the Birpur residents ... why have none of your daughters ever come back home? For any festival, any mourning, any celebration ...
But the villagers are silent ... their Thakur is their God, and if he says sacrifice, sacrifice it is ... even of their own daughters ...
It seemed to me that Paro was the only one registering his words, absorbing them ... maybe filing them away in her mind ... will the truth of his words strike ehr later?

Face off between the Thakur and Rudra ... zinging one liners between the ice cold serpent and the raging young officer ... and the Thakur disowns Paro with a sweet tongued blessing ... 'be brave, be strong ...' not before Rudra blocks his way to Paro ...
Rudra is already becoming protective about Paro ... his disgust and disbelief at how the villagers can abandon her at a word from the Thakur ... the abandonment both disgusts and infuriates him ... he can't believe that Maamisa can disown her own adopted daughter, can forget ties of blood ...

Aman's entry was rather good today ... Thakur forced onto the back foot. For once Rudra had brought reinforcements.

But Rudra has to retreat, and he takes Paro with him ... she breaks free and runs to Maamisa pleading for help, she's scared, she doesn't want to go with them ... Maamisa stays unmoved, and finally pushes her away ... 'I don't know you ...'
And Paro breaks ... the last straw, the final blow in a day that has been full of them ... Paro is shattered and goes without protest or fight with Rudra, her eyes dead ... her world as she knows it, is gone ... her life as she knew it, is over ...

And yet she won't sign the paper for Rudra ... much to his fury ... her eyes empty, dead, as though his words, his anger, his bruising hold, none of it even registers, much less hurts ... for nothing holds the power to hurt her any more ... she is dead from within.

Precap - Paro drinks from the same glass as Rudra, he says she is their ransom, their hostage.

  1. As usual great episode.. Watching it is like you're there and it's really happening. The heartache and sorrow of paro, I was on tear the whole time. Sanaya is really good. One thing that I like is Aman has a face now We can actually see him. I would say that the makers are really generous hope they continue that.

    1. Cheng, good to see you back! :) Hehe, Aman has a face now :)))

The makers have started off on a huge scale, it will scale down once the Rajasthan scenes are over ... but I hope they maintain the story telling at this level.

  2. Yesterday's episode was perfect. All the actors did very well in their scenes. For me Sanaya stole the show when she walked lifeless with Rudra. At least for a moment we would forget the actor there and feel for Paro.I now love watching this show. Hats off to entire RR team.

    1. Lakshmi, ys, it's really going well, the story is picking up pace ... and uffff, the new promo!!! I am beginning to dare to hope that this will be the love story with a difference ... where angry young man CANNOT bring himself to trat his girl with roughness, no matter how hard he tries ... the way Rudra banged the table gave me hope again!

Sanaya continues to amaze ... she is AWESOME!!!

Tarun and Ashish were damn good too, in the face off ... both fabulous actors ... that was such a tight paced episode to end the week!

    2. lol that moment where they started talking inches... i was ROFling because i had read the phatphatiya take beforehand.. but i have to say, the thakur and the major had some fantastic mojo going. now i have proof that "burning up the screen" does not need to be limited to couples-to-be!

have nothing but good things to say about sanaya in this episode. she emotes so well dammit! (this i did not understand.. whhy did rudra-sa give his glass for paro? yes, i know that there is symbolism of married couples drinking from the same glass, but what makes This man do that? is there some local rajasthani thing that i have no inkling of?

  3. Rang Rasiya inspired by Othello/Shakespeare blah blah.......

    Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....................

Mami-sa goes Kauuuuuuuuuun hai yeh Bai-saaaaaaaaa?

Thakur loves giving Babaji ka Thullu to the villagers.

Aman is the faithful talented Ramu who is underutilized.

Thakurain-sa & Paro-sa are dealing with guys who are busy with guns than paying any attention to them.

Talli Dad is the Talli Dadi.

Rudra has his one liners that he shares with his ever loyal faithful audience aka Aman.

Celebrities aka characters make a brief appearance and say bye bye....

Ab bolo, Rangrasiya is inspired by Comedy nights with Kapil or not????

    1. ROFL ... Shwethuuuuuuuuu!!!! Aaa gayi tu!!!!

Only you can link up Rangrasiya, Othello and Comedy with Kapil!!!!!

By the way, is Aman your favorite underutilized younger brother here? Remember another brother for Rudra is yet to make an entry ... don't go changing loyalties then!!!!!

    2. Dia, I hope this Aman gets properly utilized re. Obviously the guy would be good warna there is no way he would have made it in Aamir's nephew's debut movie. I still remember the scene where he grumbles about how scared he is of his dad in the movie, LOL that was!!!

He made a mark in the first scene itself, atleast he made me break my head where I had seen him till I remembered, that too cos my son loves the pappu song:)

I already see him softening up a bit towards Paro, I am actually looking forward to Paro & Aman scenes.....Waisay ek aur bhai, kyon bey, as it is Sanz gets so less to speak, ab ek aur bhai bhi and bhai aayega toh yeh log uskay liye faltu ka love track bhi lekar aayenge and filhaal there is no one in Birpur so far..........

I remember MB had so many characters who simply disappeared, I would rather have characters like Varun, Bindi and maybe even Laila jo aaye speed say and utni hi speed say bye bol gaye, atleast logical closure toh hua!!!

I looooooooooved Sanz when she was pleading with Mami, please I don't want to go, I am scared, uff yaar :(

I did tapkofy on the forum and I am amazed how few people are quick to write off the show. We always crib about how Indian tv does not give us something different and when we do, we don't give it a chance. As for Sanz crying so much, what else is Paro supposed to do, she got married and saw her hubby killed is she supposed to dance to Dhinka chika....

Paro is a weak character, mehhhhhhhhhhhh........

It is what 2-3 weeks, how come anyone can jump to that conclusion. Inspite of the horror she is undergoing which if you actually realize is less than 24 hours, she stubbornly told Rudra, you killed my husband, refused to sign anything, doesnt that tell you how strong she is and how (fingers crossed) stronger she is going to get in the coming episodes standing up to Rudra. I actually see a guesthouse style khushi confrontation happening pretty soon.

If I remember correctly, IPK hit the 3 mark around 2-3 months right? yahan toh abhi 3 weeks huain hain yaar.I am pretty sure it will pick up slowly and steadily in the coming weeks.

So long as we get to see the story that was decided to be told, we are in for a really good show here, am pretty excited as my lamba bakbak+rant above shows:)

    3. i feel so bad. first, paro’s parents died. then, bindi died. now, paro watched her husband die right in front of her
      ..mentally scarring much? :/

and now, when she has nowhere to go and nothing left to live for, she still refuses to hurt her loved ones. weak character indeed. some ppl i say..

    4. Agree with you guys. True Jaya she has lost everyone she loved and still she's sane.So much emotional shock one after the other. Yet she has not succumb to pressures. Paro is definitely not weak. People always relate one who cries and expresses to be weak. But it's the other way...When she comes back from her village and asks Rudra for handcuff...that says more. I want to see all the characters to evolve as the story progresses. Paro will be the crucial one who'll bring change be it in Rudra or Thakur. Today she's shattered , but she's going to shatter the wall Rudra has build around him and Thakur around his village. I'm so eager to watch that. Hope the trp thing doesn't change the game. I wish trp and all parameters to do well, as i'm selfish to know the really story for once.

@Shwetha did you follow Numm till end?? I lost track after two episodes and before I could follow it was over.

    5. Well said Jaya, Shwetha and Lakshmi. What gets my goat is when I read comments like, "can't relate to Paro, she is bland". If last week's episodes don't move people, doubt anything will later on.

    6. Well said, Jaya and Lakshmi ... Lakshmi, so true, that scene when she holds up her hands to be handcuffed again was so poignant ... she has lost all her fear, her feelings, her emotions ... she is dead from within ... the old timid, scared Paro is gone ... she has nothing to live for ... she doesn't care what happens to her any more. But she still doesn't sign the papers ... as Jaya says, she still protects her loved ones despite the enormity of their betrayal.

Uma, if they can't relate to Paro, they should count themselves very, very fortunate ... how terrifying it must be to be so completely ALONE and helpless in the world ... if you can't relate to that, it means you are fortunate that you are not alone. And also it means that you really have no empathy for the plight of many women who DO find themselves helpless in many situations ... again, all I can say is, they're lucky ... and they're also very shallow.

  4. What a satisfying feast RR is! I missed friday's epi, so gorged on today's repeat of the ENTIRE WEEK....heh, heh, heh................wonderful experience!! Tejawat and Rudra's face-off was amazing and Paro's heartfelt pleas to Mami were superlative performances.
Dia, a request from you please - could you pen the lyrics to that soulful song that is serving as Paro's BG music? I understand some of the words, but a few go amiss for some odd reason ;(.

Your wordings the last time around really upped the appreciation level.
