Telly actress Sanaya Irani, popular as Khushi Kumari Gupta from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and last seen in Chhanchhan, has now been finalised to play the lead in Saurabh Tewari's next on Colors.
Barely a month since her show, Chhanchhan, went off air after running for six months, the actress has already bagged a new show.
According to a source, the show is about a girl who believes in love and how her path crosses with a man, who doesn't believe in it. Says the source, "Sanaya has been in talks with the production house for a long time. She has been now been finalised.
In fact, the production house was keen on casting her as the lead in Life OK's Do Dil Ek Jaan, but things couldn't materialise back then. The production house is now busy casting the male lead. It will be a casting coup of sorts as Sanaya is much in demand despite her last show failed to rake in the ratings."

The highly promoted show Mrs Pammi Pyarelal will bid adieu in October to get replaced by Sanskaar Darohar Apno Ki Season 2.
The show will supposedly retain the same lead pair and half of the cast will be the same.
Sanaya Irani's new show will launch after Big Boss and supposedly get the 9pm slot if believed.

Gurmeet Choudhary is surely on a roll, when it comes to getting offered the best of roles on TV. Post his successful stints as leads in Star One's Geet Hui Sabse Parayi and Zee TV's Punar Vivah, the actor is being flooded with interesting offers.
As reported by media earlier, he was approached for the sequel of Gunahon Ka Devta to be produced by the Producer of Lapataganj on SAB TV, Ashwini Dheer. We now hear that the talented actor has been approached by Nautanki Telefilms for their upcoming show on Colors.
As we know, Saurabh Tewari's next on Colors already has the vivacious Sanaya Irani as the lead. And the hunt is presently on for the lead guy, who will play a BSF officer. Amongst lot many known faces approached for the show, Gurmeet happens to be one. We hear that the makers were keen on casting him as the lead opposite Sanaya.
A reliable source states that Gurmeet has been in consideration for a while. However, he usually quotes an exorbitant amount, as the man is keener on doing films now.
Yet another source though told us that Gurmeet was indeed approached for the new show on Colors, but he did not fit well into the role.

Saurabh Tiwari's Nautanki Films who are at presently producing Madhubala - Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon on Colors and Do Dil Ek Jaanon Life Ok is all set to present a new and entertaining show on Colors.
The show will be an intense love story which tells the tale of a girl in love with a boy who denies the relationship. How they gradually come together is the crux of the story. While it has earlier been reported that Sanaya Irani has been approached for the show, nothing has been confirmed as yet.
However, as per our source the name of the show has been finalized, "The show is named as Rang Rasiya and will be visually very appealing. It is supposed to get the prime time slot and may go on air sometime in December after Bigg Boss Saath 7 gets over." The title seems to be inspired by Ketan Mehta's film based on the legendary painter Raja Ravi Verma. Rang Rasiya, the upcoming show of Saurabh Tewari's Nautanki Telefilms for Colors is already star-studded with Sanaya Irani and Ashish Sharma in lead roles.
The news doing rounds now is that Barkha Bisht Sengupta, who returned to television after a hiatus with Sony Entertainment Television's Parvarrish when she replaced a pregnant Rupali Ganguly as Pinky, is presently in talks for a pivotal role in Rang Rasiya.
A reliable source tells us that Barkha will most likely play the third angle in Rang Rasiya. The lady will don a negative character for the grand Rajasthan backdrop show.
We tried our level best to get in touch with Barkha, but we could not reach her.
Our efforts to get a confirmation from Producer Saurabh Tewari were in vain.

Rang Rasiya, the upcoming show of Saurabh Tewari's Nautanki Telefilms for Colors is already star-studded with Sanaya Irani and Ashish Sharma in lead roles.
The news doing rounds now is that Barkha Bisht Sengupta, who returned to television after a hiatus with Sony Entertainment Television's Parvarrish when she replaced a pregnant Rupali Ganguly as Pinky, is presently in talks for a pivotal role in Rang Rasiya.
A reliable source tells us that Barkha will most likely play the third angle in Rang Rasiya. The lady will don a negative character for the grand Rajasthan backdrop show.
We tried our level best to get in touch with Barkha, but we could not reach her.
Our efforts to get a confirmation from Producer Saurabh Tewari were in vain.

Sanaya Irani of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Do fame has been signed to play the lead in Colors new show,Rang Rasiya. Irani who became immensely popular playing the romantic lead opposite Barun Sobti inIss Pyaar Ko..., however faced her first setback when Chhanchhan failed to impress the audience. InRang... the actress, has been cast opposite Ashish Sharma, who was seen on shows like Chandra Gupt Maurya and Rab Se Sona Isshq.
Set to go on floor by November end, the show is being produced by Saurabh Tewari's Nautanki Films. Meanwhile, Rang... will be Tewari's second project with Colors after the hit, Madhubala - Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon. When contacted, the producer said, "I share a personal equation with Colors. Before becoming a producer, I was the channel's fiction head for four years. Also, Madhubala ...is doing well, so why not one more show with the channel?"
An intense love story, Rang Rasiya will be shot in Rajasthan across four cities including Jodhpur,Bikaner among others. The show is a replacement for Bigg Boss Season 7, which will go off-air by December.

Hi Anita, good to see you back! Great news about Sanaya's new show, isn't it ... despite the failure of Chhanchhan, her work and her talent has been recognised finally. Apparently Saurabh Tewary of Nautanki was waiting for her for this project, it's his dream project, and he had offered it to her way back in January this year after IPK ended. She didn't take it then, now she has taken it. A huge compliment for Sanaya and a testament to her standing in the industry today, that she was always the only person in the running for this show, and he actually waited for her.
DeleteHopefully the show will take off well and we will all have something good to discuss again! In the meanwhile it's good to see that the recognition that eluded Sanaya during IPK because of the hysteria over BS, is now finally coming her way ... she deserves every bit of it.

Yes, Anita, hope Ashish is good ... he is actually well known as Chandragupta Maurya, and he did a very good job there apparently ... but a love story is different from a historical ... so let's hope for the best. Sanaya deserves all the success that comes her way and more ... she is talented and very hard working, let's hope this show really does well for her, and for the entire team.

Surabhi Prabhu a supermodel turned south Indian actress, who has done many national campaigns and international brands, will soon be seen on TV.
Surabhi Prabhu who is currently busy doing films and songs in south, has been approached to play an important role in Nautanki Telefilms upcoming on Colors TV.
The actress who was earlier seen in Sony TV's CID, opposite Aamir Khan, while he was promoting his movie Talaash, has done a few special main lead episodic shows on request.
When called Surabhi Prabhu, she told "Nothing is confirmed yet, I might do the show. I am still not sure if I will do TV, as I can't commit anything till my prior commitments are taken care of first".
We hear that Surabhi's role will be a strong role with many shades. She will be seen helping the main lead in the show. The show also feature Sanaya Irani and Ashish Sharma.

So, glad that the clouds are clearing and we finally have confirmation about the show, it's name and the leads. Now, we can finally put all the jodi fans and fan wars behind us and look forward to something new and exciting.
Sanaya looked positively excited and happy about the show and the people she is working with, hope the team effort yields rich dividends. I have to admit that I am more excited about this show then I ever felt for Chhanchhan. So keeping my fingers crossed.
The promo shoot has begun and Ashish's tweet gives a feel of an intense and passionate love story. Waiting for SBS/SBB segments, promos and finally the show. Hope this will be a successful and enjoyable endeavour for Sanaya and the audience.

DeleteI've been lazy to update here because of my move ... for IPK and Chhanchhan, I posted every article as it came out. Finally managed to update all the relevant articles for Rang Rasiya in one place. And we finally have a name for the show :)
I'm getting more and more excited too ... the show is sounding good, and the fact that they are keeping a tight lid on all news and taking their time to bring it out, makes it sound even better. Thankfully they are learning from the mistakes that Sony and Optimystix made with Chhanchhan.
Sanaya too sounds excited and happy about the show ... she is very serious about her work, and the fact that she finds the team strong and very creative, and is looking forward to working with them, sounds very positive.
I'll post Ashish's tweet too ... it was rather poetic ... he seems like a guy who is very serious about his work as well, and dedicated to the medium of TV, again sounds good, much better than BS, who seemed to think TV was just a stepping stone to something bigger and better, and never gave it or IPK the respect it deserved. I think Ashish will be equally serious about this project as Sanaya, he was critically acclaimed as an actor in Chandragupt Maurya, so that already puts him ahead of the game.
Hoping for the best and keeping fingers crossed that this show is Sanaya's biggest one yet, and she gains all the awards and recognition that she deserved for Khushi but never got ... and even more. Hope her character is well written and very strong ... I'm not too impressed with Madhubala's character, so I really hope Sanaya's character in RR is better written. If Saurabh Tewary was waiting for her for almost a year, I hope he and his writers do her justice ... along with all the other characters and the full story as well. If the show is well written, it will do well, and so will all those associated with it ... so let's hope and pray that happens and Sanaya and the entire team get all the success and plaudits for Rang Rasiya.

Saurabh Tewari's upcoming show on Colors, Rang Rasiya is slated to be the next big fiction launch on Colors. After roping in Ashish Sharma and Sanaya Irani as leads, the hunt is on for experienced faces to play pivotal roles. As reported by us, talented actress Barkha Bisht is also mostly finalized to play the third angle in the show.
The latest to join the show with the grand Rajasthani backdrop of Nautanki Telefilms happens to be Tarun Khanna. The versatile actor who has so far done challenging roles on television has been roped in to play the anti-lead on the show. Tarun was last seen giving a powerful performance in Life OK's Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev as Raavan.
A reliable source tells us that Tarun will be playing an interesting and strong character in Rang Rasiya. His role will be that of a landlord who has all the powers, and people look up to him for help. His antagonist role in the show has all the meat required to catch the audiences' attraction, conveys our source.
When contacted, Tarun told Tellychakkar.com, "Well, I have earlier worked with BAG Films for Ganga and had a very nice experience. I wish to work with them again. But as far as this show goes, I have not got any intimation whatsoever. So I am clueless about whether I am finalized or not."
We tried contacting Producer Saurabh Tewari, but he remained unavailable for comments.
Rang Rasiya will air post the completion of Bigg Boss season 7.

After the super successful Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors and Do Dil Ek Jaan on Life OK, Rang Rasiya will be Nautanki Telefilms third venture into the world of serials. Shooting for the show will begin from 15th November 2013 and will replace Bigg Boss after the current season concludes.
