  1. Yayyyyy, you are back!!

@mads: confusion as in my convo with Godjee, I wanted Sanaya-Fawad and not Sonam-Fawad,lol.

Shows I am watching at the moment:

West Wing on FX - Feels fabulous to be watching from season 1.

Scandal Season 3, White Collar season 5 (after I took a break for 2 seasons) and Castle latest season (after taking a break for 2 season again)

This is where I am catching up on the shows:

    http://www.couchtuner.eu/tv-streaming/

You can pick any of your favorite ones there, makes life simple especially for someone like me who is hooked on Scandal.

    Numm : http://desirantsnraves.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/numm-episode-8-review/

    And EBP.

About EBP, it is not the romance rather the drama that is most interesting to me.

Have to admit (Okay, I dont think I have ever claimed to be the most unbiased viewer around), watching EBP I am realizing that when you are not that invested in the characters, it is far more easier to be objective and dismissive..

Arnav and Khushi both did their acts of dumbogiri, but I understood where it was coming from and was still rooting for them.

In EBP, I have just not connected with Shlok and Aastha, so I find myself wanting to kick Shlok loads of times with no regrets whatsoever and with Aastha when she brushes off the genuine concerns her mom has about hitler saasu ma, I want to shake her up and say Girl listen to your mom, she knows better. Or when Shlok's Confession is not that he loves her but rather how her existence and identity is him, I want to Scream Aastha, Listen to what he said and what he did not say..

I dont know if it is going to stick to the theme of IPK (love-hate) or the makers are going to their basics of their own show as In Aastha with the Saas bahu saga- will have to wait and watch.

There are many interesting characters - Niranjan Agnihotri, the smooth talker and manipulator, Anjali Agnihotri - who does the dirty work for Niranjan, gets the bad name and who seems to be terrified of Niranjan although it is not apparant to her own kids the hell she is going through, The elder Brother who apparantly was forced to marry the girl of his parents choice and has zero emotional connection with his wife, the Rich wife of the brother who is dumb yet can be shrewed and cunning and the missing sister. And yes, there is the much single Chachu who speaks his mind and watches the tamasha unfolding.....

Shlok ka problem, shlok hi jaanay, so his GF walks out, what is stopping him from hiring a private detective to track her down or even his own sister for that matter, standing up for the first love, what is his problem, blaming everything on his mom and not taking responsibility or less acknowledging he could have goofed up.

Aastha's characterization is fairly simple - simple girl who is swept off her feet. Her mom has suffered abuse maybe from her first MIL or was it someone else till she married Avdut Kirloskar and she is happy with her incredibly supportive husband and MIL(?).

The side characters are very interesting and each have a story to tell in this show, why in the name did they have to name it EBP, Aastha had enough material to stand its own ground...

Waisay - today's epi totally disgust, what sort of sick MIL puts her DIL's finger in hot tea or throws milk or was it Chaach whatever in her face for disobeying and that lady in question the eldest bahu quietly takes it, why - I always assumed she was from a rich family or did Anjali pick someone from a poor background just so she can boss her around??

Where is the show headed - A separation once the girl's family finds out that Niranjan and Shlok are after a particular land which Avdut has to give permission and hence the engagement and transfer - In that case, Bhaag Aastha Bhaag or else marriage and Saas Bahu drama - I am not sure even the makers are clear as to what to do???

*phew, bahut bakbak ho gaya* *too lazy to check the typos, kindly ignore*

    2. I read somewhere that KSG was negotiating for price hike after his annual contract, sound familiar. You know there is trouble when the PH does not have budget or the authority to get the lead actor to get a haircut and his quitting rumors start surfacing. Gul seems to lose interest after 6 months and control over the product and the actors after 1 year. She will be best suited for Season format I think.

  3. i dont follow ebp, but caught yesterdays episode.. how did shlok and astha get engaged? his "come upstairs" mime was so cute.. imho, avinash is a sugar actor.. he really cannot handle the evil look, he is adorable as the sweet guy.

btw who else shuddered at the way that bahu accepted the tyranny of her saas? i mean, the hero is a bad guy.. the momma heroine is more evil? what the?

    1. Jayu, you are right, he has so far done the sugary roles and done them very well and hence I was looking forward to him in this role. Unfortunately, there is loads of confusion whether shlok is black, white or grey from the actor, writer and director's end.

You forgot the most evilest of all the Dad, that dad actor is awesome. Watch his scenes with the mom and how he gently in the softest voice with the most evilist glint controls her around. Brilliant. Plus the dad actor looks like he is hitting the gym whereas beta actor seems to have forgotten the way to the gym:(

    2. papa has an evil streak? sorry i did not know.. him sweettalking shlok made me think that he was a kind daddy figure.. i only saw him scolding mum while she was wiping his shoes or some such ****.

what is the deal with that family?
what i really dont understand is how the bahu simply accepted a tumbler of milk on her face... not even an angry glare!

    3. Following the comments here ... have just moved to my new place finally ... but no TV yet, so am not watching anything! Am so tired of this ... just waiting for my shipment to arrive so we can settle down ... feels like I have been homeless for months!!!

Agree with Shweths, why did they have to name this IPK EBP, as a stand alone show it would have been good enough by itself. Why rake up the comparisons ... added to which they altered the characters to make it fit IPK tag, and as a result they seem to be neither here nor there.

  4. Hello Everyone.
I have caught a few episodes and I am totally confused.
I thought that Shlok hated the young girl and the next he is planning to marry her.
I also don't get why they couldn't have called it a different name instead do using the IPK brand name or did the makers think that it would bring in the audience.
So good to see you all here, will pop in again soon
    Take care
    Lin

  5. On a completely different note, and as I haven't made a separate movie post for ages ...
Mickey Virus released today, and I was happy to see it got very decent reviews, and even happier to read that Varun Badola has been praised profusely for his role in the film. One of my favorite TV actors, I always felt he was brilliant, and am glad to see he has been noticed instantly.

  7. I'll try that AB show too ... won't say AB was brilliant, but his comic timing was good.

Anyone watching Gustakh Dil? I've caught up with the last 2-3 episodes, and I'm liking it. Had watched it when it started, then went off tv for two months, now slowly getting back to it. The girl is very cute, and the guy is quite sweet too. The MIL and Nani in law are funny, although typical vampish MILs, the friends seem sweet, torn between taking sides of Nikhil and Ishaana, and they have ended up liking Lajo. It's going quite well.
