Rangrasiya ... 2nd promo

Second promo of Rangrasiya

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSQalgtp57Q&feature=youtu.be

A group of veiled black clad women in the distance ... a shot of Paro in red running for her life ... through thorns, barefoot in the burning sand ...

A grim faced Rudra in uniform, watches through his binoculars, and gives chase in his jeep ... finally hunting down the hapless girl like a hunter corners his prey,. She tumbles exhausted to the sand, finally spent ...

Jahaan rangon ki chadar nahin, jahan mausam ka marham nahin ...

He speaks slowly and hatefully ... 'bhaag jahan tak bhaag sakti hai ...' a slow taunting drawl ... run as far as you can ...
Then menace enters his voice ... 'par jahan bhi rukegi ... sarhad ki tarah mujhe payegi ...'
But wherever you stop, you will find me there ... the limit to where you can run is only me. I define your borders.

And he gets off his vehicle and walks slowly to the cornered panting girl ... taking out his water bottle, knowing she is parched after her long run ...
And deliberately he spills the water as he walks ... her eyes fix on the thirst quenching stream falling uselessly on the sand ...
He offers her the bottle with the last remains of the water she craves ... a deliberate insult ... this water is worthless to me, so I threw it ... you are worthless too, so I take pity on you ... here, have it ...
And a proud fiery Paro knocks it fiercely out of his hands ... down she might be, but never out ... bent for the moment, but not beaten ... no pity, no charity for her ...

In the background, the haunting strains of   'Rangrasiya ... Rangrasiya ...'

Carrying forward the first promo and adding this one ... it seems Paro has been recently widowed ... was that at the hands of Rudra? She is at the mercy of the vultures, they already denuded her of her ornaments ... what else were they planning to do, that made the young girl away from them into the desert?

Rudra sees her through his binoculars ... it seems he killed the man in the course of duty, maybe suspecting him to be a smuggler?/traitor? And suspicion naturally extends to the girl he was going to marry ... was she involved in the same activities?
So Rudra chases the girl, it seems his suspicions are well founded, as she is running into the desert, towards the border ... this is all duty for him ...

But is there more than just duty involved? The way he says ... run as far as you can, but you can never escape me ... that seems to indicate a history between them ...

The second promo was as visually stunning as the first, even more so ...
The background music is good ... liked the strains of 'Rangrasiya ... rangrasiya' at the end ...

The actors are both brilliant! Sanaya's expressions at the end of angry defiance ... loved that! A fierce, fiery Paro ... she might be an orphan, but she is not an object of pity, or a bechari ... taking cue from the mythological characters they are named after, and judging from this promo, Paro and Rudra will have a fiery relationship, but one of equals.
Also liked Ashish's body language and attitude ... very well acted. Both actors are going to be a treat to watch ... two powerful performers as strong characters ... hope the story and characters are well written ... if they are, I can see this show doing really well!!!

  1. I loved the fiery Paro, Dia.

Aashish works so much better than VD for me...and San...there is no comparing her with the actress with two (fantastic, though) expressions...what I love here, is that they start with a face off...

Promo is promising...now I hope the crew of MB sticks on there firmly..I don't want them ruining another promising concept.

    1. Ashish is a good actor, and he has great screen presence. He works much better than VD for me too.

San is amazing ... her expressions change from defeat, despair, exhaustion ... to fight, fury, rage in the space of an instant ... all in her eyes! I'm glad to see the fiesty Paro ... I was worried they would make her another Glycerin ... that's Madhu's nickname in Madhubala. This is ST's dream project, I hope he has the storyline all worked out and sorted. I don't want changes based on TRPs ... not too many, that is. Let them tell their full story their way. Both the promos have been very promising ... very impactful. Large canvas ... they both gave a movie feel more than a TV show.

    1. Hey Lin, good to see you back!

Sanaya's show is starting end of December ... either 29th or 30th December. I'll post the date as soon as it is confirmed. The promos are looking very promising ... they look more like BW promos than promos for a TV show, and Sanaya is looking so beautiful! I loved this second promo ... I was worried that Paro would be a weeping kind of girl, but this showed she will be a fiery character ... more like what Khushi was at the start of IPK before she petered out.
I really hope and pray for Sanaya that this show is a hit. It's looking good, and the good thing is the channel and PH are taking their time over starting it and not rushing it on air, like Chhanchhan producers did.

  3. glad to see you writing again, dia. there is writing, and then there is inspired writing... one promo that evokes so many emotions in you, and the words just flow off your mind. it is a beautiful feeling , to read this prose again.

makes it more poignant, thinking that it is the anniversary of IPK ending.

yes, here's to hoping that the writers do not dilute the spirit of the sun in paro.

    1. Hey Jaya ... good to see you here ... and good to feel that inspiration coming back. Let's hope the show is well written ... that was the biggest plus point of IPK, and I am hoping for the same for Rangrasiya.

What excites me is that this is a show that Saurabh Tewari wanted Sanaya and ONLY Sanaya for ... he offered her this right after IPK ended, she refused it for Chhanchhan ... he made DDEJ instead, but he has apparently kept this show on the back burner and waited till Sanaya was available again to take it up. And he approached her for it the moment the ending of Chhanchhan was announced. So obviously he wanted a very strong actress to play the role of Paro. So there should be tremendous scope for Sanaya to show her prowess as an actress ... and that's what I'm looking forward to the most. Also the biggest problem ... the only problem ... I had with Khushi was her OTT behaviour ... and Paro is not going to be that in any way. The guesthouse Khushi is my most favorite Khushi and from the second promo, it seems Paro will be similar ... that is exciting, and I'm really looking forward to that.
