I really wonder if it's such a good idea to give away plotlines on SBS and SBB - because I knew what was going to happen with the male models, the scenes didn't hold so much charm, and of course, no surprise whatsoever! So it's good that we don't know how Khushi is going to get out of the minidress problem!
But I liked the song ... :))) I love the sufi style and the visuals of Arnav and Khushi were good ... Khushi was dreamy ... felt that Akaash Payal were superfluous, arey ek din nahin hua ek doosre ko dekhe and love story shuru ho gayi?! Would have been happier if they had kept it on ArShi completely, with Arnav doing a little bit more than just staring into space at different angles.
The first nani mami Anjali scenes was tolerable ... mami had two good oneliners ... phir color lagayi leo, and the one about Ms kashyap - ye to secondhand types lag rahi thi ... Mami and Anjali clear up confusion about Nimmi Kashyap and Lavanya Kashyap ... arey bhai, does Arnav employ only Kashyaps in his office? And has Anjali met both the women in question, that she could identify them from mami's rather sketchy description? And does Lame ONLY wear miniskirts and Nimmi ONLY pants?
*Sigh* ... note to self ... switch OFF brain before watching any scenes involving mami and nani ...
Khushi off to work ... doesn't notice Shyam, but he sees her all right ... hmm, shape of things to come?
Office scene - stupid again ... everyone waiting for K's challenge with ASR to start?! Just hope they don't take it upon themselves to interfere, that's all ... or maybe, halfway through, someone, esp the bimbo duo, might ... and be told by Arnav to back off, cos this is between him and Khushi only ... *hoping, hoping ... I DO so want the bimbo duo and Lame to get their comeuppance, and preferably, the whole office too ... wimps that they all are, for not even coming to check if K was okay after her fall*
K gets her first challenge ... and the first smirk from Arnav, the first glare back from Khushi ... refreshing change from eyelocks, I must say *lol*
The rest of the episode was slow motion, to ensure that Khushi's first task gets done only by the end of the episode, not before ... Shyam moves in ... am surprised Buaji gave a room to 'jawan ladka' with two young girls in the house ... not very believable, any traditional woman would think twice ... let's see how this goes. Maybe that's why they had Shyam mention this ... but is Buaji really so gullible?
Khushi's first task - measure five mushtandas ... and this is where the PH has to rise from SO level ... scene was okay to excite giggly schoolgirls, but really??!!! And the whole office staring again ... :(((
Arnav's one liner was good, though - tumhara chehra ghadi se aage chal raha hai ... uspe barah baje hain ... Wish they would keep these confrontations between Khushi and Arnav only, the two of them manage to keep some dignity intact, but the rest of the office scenes just degenerate into foolishness.
Arnav challenges her again ... Khushi pushes his buttons unknowingly, but he seems to know just HOW to push hers ... enough to make her rise to the challenge, but just short of pushing her over the edge to give up. And he's enjoying the game, and no, he doesn't want her to leave ... not yet. Not till he's rubbed her nose into the dust. Arnav is coming across as really hateful ... guess that's why watching Khushi overcome his challenges will be even more satisfying. And watching his attitude towards her change even more so. He's already spending far more time thinking about her than he should be doing!
Payal belatedly remembering her broken shaadi ... filler scene, although Buaji was actually sweet here, and even landed up praising Khushi for her spirit. But again, in this show, it's nice the way they are showing the girl not sitting and moping for that one guy who demanded dowry, and are pushing her to move on and find another match. Unfortunately they don't do this very loudly, so the message gets lost in the louder Nani Mami bakri scenes :(((
Anjali teasing Akash ... again, really?! One look and that's all? Never believed in such 'love' stories and I still can't. And I thought Akash went to Chandni Chowk, how did he land up in Lajpat Nagar? But Anjali teasing either of her brothers is cute!
Why the sudden gift of bag for Lame? :((( Arnav's personal choice is quite revolting. Or maybe brainless bimbos make him feel smart.
And finally reaching the point of the episode ... how Khushi deals with the challenge ... by making one brawn-but-no-brain guy her bhaiyya, and getting him to do her work for her. While she sits and writes the measurements, and eats ber.
While Arnav continues to think about how he will defeat her.

By the way, P, watch MB if you can.
:-( :-( :-( ...
ReplyDeleteD, I am trying sooooo hard to like this show....really, believe me, i am...but the kambhakt PH is making it soooooo difficult for me!!!! :-(
I really feel they have mis-casted the role of ASR...no personal offence to the actor.....he seems like bhala enough insaan ;-)...but he just does not have the screen presence and strength of personality to be convincing in such a power driven role :O. I fear elocution lessons will not suffice ;p...he needs a steel rod rammed up his backside...at the very least!;p ...(ok, all ASR actor fans..take a deep breath...please do some pranayam...shanti path...before you send me hate mail c/o D's blog!!)
Also, that freakin' ASR office is a death trap! Jesus, never seen such a health hazard...who could have thought that one visit to the boss's office could be sooo jaan leva...bhagwan jane kab ram naam sat ho jaye!!!;p ...It needs to come with a public health warning!!!...reminds me of Abhimanyu's chakravyuha ...a potentially lethal entrapment! lol ;p
When ASR gave Khushi that 15 day challenge...I thought...let me give him the benefit of the doubt...i am sure, now he will show me what he is made of!!! But he's a freakin marshmallow!!! rofl!!! ... of all the challenging tasks he could have come up with in the whole wide world...he came up with....this!!!! To take the measurement of 5 protein overdosed semi clad item boys!!! hey bhagwan, give me strength!!! :O
And please don't even get me started on the office & home supporting circus acts. :-(
I could go on...believe me, I really could...but despite the odds...I just want to give the show a chance to prove me wrong..(especially since it comes from the same PH that gave us Geet & MSK!)...so will stick with it for a little while longer... *sigh* ...chalo, one positive is, I am sure I must have lost a few pounds in weight mann halka karke on your blog!! lol :-)
Btw D...what is MB???
P, to answer your last question first ... MB is Mukti Bandhan, the one I told you about with Deepti Naval. Have recently started watching it, not yet on a regular basis, but it's a more serious show, much better written and production values, better characterization for sure, all the main characters well etched out and all are pretty grey with different motivations in life. It's interesting - hasn't hooked me completely yet, but whatever little I've seen doesn't leave me with the feeling I want to tear my hair out!
ReplyDeleteAs opposed to IPKKND ... lolzzz ... well, agree with the bulk of your rant ;-), except that I can tolerate ASR ... hehe, I'm not comparing him to MSK all the time, as you are ... but OMG, the office resembles a three-ring circus more than anything else, including the namoonas occupying it!
As for the tasks, that's exactly the discussion a friend and I were having last night - I mean, like, seriously??? ASR wants to grind Khushi's nose into the dust ... he couldn't think of anything else?! Told you, this is what comes of having people with juvenile brains (read GH) write the screenplay!
Sanaya continues to be the main reason I watch this ... that and the hope that the PH will pull its socks up soon ... after all, it is a Nissar show, and he's the brain behind the Samrat Gunjan story, which took over two months to get me hooked.
But am giving up on BALH though ... the shrieking screaming in the last episode put me off, added to which the typical Ekta misunderstanding about which girl is the bride ... sheesh, doesn't anybody believe in taking names here?! As it is, I'm watching far too many shows (for me!) - am still following Maryada, I really like the way they're dealing with the homosexuality issue there, and the acting continues to be good.
hehe...no...was not comparing to MSK at all...well not intentionally anyway! What I said was based on what I saw on my screen when watching IPK! lol..but am beginning to think this is a type a character & actor who needs time to grow into his own shoes...so will allow him that grace of time and take my boxing gloves off for a couple of weeks! lol :-)
ReplyDeleteNot too familiar with GH's writing so can't comment on that.
Yeah, agree, that was a disappointing twist in BALH. Hmmm, might revert back to only watching highlights of that show on the weekend. Will need to find a guni person online who only edits & uploads Ram Sakshi scenes coz the rest is too k-serialish.
Which channel is MB on? Don't think i've noticed it here on tv.
Anyways, all the Star channels are going thru a major change here soon...they are getting rid of the one week lag we have in all the shows...and making all epis in sync with India...so we will have up to date, same day broadcasts from India. Not sure how they are going to catch up on the storylines but I think it's a good idea!!!
P,
ReplyDeleteI read the update on BALH and it left me with absolutely no desire to watch the episode - did you see it? Give me your feedback if you did. Sounds like typical Ekta types, with Priya apparently insulting Ram at the top of her voice in public ... thought she was a sensible, mature girl. What happened?! If you find only Ram Sakshi scenes somewhere, let me know ... the low decibel ones!
MB comes on Colors, I think. I don't get it here, have to youtube it, so I tend to watch sporadically ... if it comes on tv, I'll watch most rubbish, but too much effort to YT regularly, unless I'm totally hooked. Which I'm not at the moment, actually - have liked the scenes I've seen, but not enough for that extra effort.
Hmm, I wonder how Star will catch up with a week's worth of episodes ... that's interesting. When I was in Dubai, and we were watching DMG, it was a day behind India, but it caught up during that 18 day strike. Wonder how they will manage it now.
and lolzzz, carry on halkafying your mann here *rofl* ... fun to read your comments again after ages! Don't mind me - I love Sanaya, the rest of the nonsense I put up with for her sake! Hmm, funny, I never like the male protaginists of any Indian shows, it's always the females who get me hooked ... except for one exception ... and we know how that turned out! *rofl*
