Sanaya News

Coincidence much ... just a couple of days back, I posted a Sanaya article because I was missing her so much ... and today we get an article in TellyChakkar about her return :)
On Star Plus ... PH is the PH of Bahu Hamari Rajnikant on Life OK, as we guessed, as her mock shoot was on the sets of that show ... male lead has already been zeroed in, Aditya Redij, a good looking guy, and a decent actor.

Celebration time!!! http://www.tellychakkar.com/tv/tv-news/sanaya-back-star-plus-next-aditya-redij-likely-be-the-male-lead-160718

Sanaya Irani is back!!!
Yes, the extremely popular actress who is presently in the pink of happiness post her wedding with actor Mohit Sehgal, will soon be back in action!!
The news coming to us is that Sanaya will play the lead in Full House Media’s next for Star Plus!!
Wowiee!! Isn’t this great news?
A credible source shares some confidential information with us, “Sonali Jaffer and Amir Jaffer are presently working on a show for Star Plus. The story will focus on an unmarried mausi, who will devote her life in the upbringing of the three kids of her sister.”
And the central role of the mausi will be played by Sanaya, is what we hear.
Tentatively titled ‘Meenu Mausi’, the next big ticket show on Star Plus will be a family drama with a difference.
And the handsome hunk who would in all probability be cast opposite Sanaya will be Aditya Redij.
Are your jaws dropping? Yes, this Jodi of Redij and Sanaya seems really fresh and impressive!!
While Sanaya will make her comeback to fiction space after Rang Rasiya, Redij was last seen in & TV’s Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai. Sanaya was part of Season 8 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Our source adds on, “Two popular men, Shaleen Malhotra and Aditya Redij were short listed for the lead’s role inMeenu Mausi. With Shaleen all set to bag the lead in Balaji Telefilms’ show for Star Plus, it looks as though Redij will lap up this prized offer.”
We tried our best contacting both Sanaya and Redij, but could not get through to them.
As we know, Full House Media has their successful show Bahu Humari Rajni_kant going strong on Life OK.
Producer Amir Jaffer said that the show is in its initial stage and nothing has been confirmed yet.
We dropped a text message to the channel spokesperson, but received no revert till the time we filed the story.

Sanaya Irani

Small screen's favourite actressSanaya Irani will be back on TV soon after a brief break post wedding.

The actress will be seen playing a lead role in a new show onStar Plus. According to reports, Sonali Jaffer and Amir Jaffer are presently working on a new show. The story is all about An unmarried mausi (aunt) who will spend her life in the upbringing of the three kids of her sister. Sanaya will be seen playing the role of the aunt.

Most probably Meenu Mausi will be name of the show.

Aditya Redji will be seen opposite Sanaya Irani in the show. Sanaya was last seen in Rang Rasiya and Redji's last TV project was Meri Awwaz Hi Pehchaan Hai.

Sanaya Irani to make a comeback with Aditya Redij on a show titled Meenu Mausi?

Woah! Sanaya Irani to make a comeback to the fictional space with Meenu Mausi. Actor Aditya Redij has reportedly been finalised opposite her

This is the actress' return to the fictional space after Rangrasiya

Fans of Sanaya Irani who are missing their bae from the small screen have some good news. She is reportedly going to make a comeback soon with a show on Star Plus titled Meenu Mausi. It is a show devoted to a woman who has dedicated her life to the upbringing of her sister's three kids. She will play an unmarried character. It seems actor Aditya Redij who was last seen on Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai is the strongest contender to play the lead. It will be produced by Full House Media who have made Bahu Humari Rajnikanth on Life Ok.
The TV diva was last seen as Paro on Rangrasiya. Fans loved her chemistry with co-star Ashish Sharma who played Rudra Ranawat on the show. The lady got hitched at the start of 2016 with long-time beau, Mohit Sehgal.
A source close to the actor told us, "Yes, the makers are talking to Aditya. He is almost finalized to act besides her. He is very excited about the concept  and of course, his pairing with Sanaya." Aditya did a small role in Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai. His last big role was in Zee TV's Bandhan.
Star Plus' new show Ishqbaaz has already picked up a fan following. Diya Aur Baati Hum is going off-air from August. It remains to be seen which show Meenu Mausi will replace. Ekta Kapoor is making a new show for Star Plus with Shaleen Malhotra in the lead and Siddharth Malhotra's finite show is also in the offing.
Are you excited about the new pair of Sanaya and Aditya? Do let us know with your comments? Stay tuned for more updates on Bollywood Life..

According to reports, the actress will be seen playing a lead role on a new show for Star Plus. It is said that Sonali Jaffer and Amir Jaffer are presently working on the new show. If reports are to be believe, then the story is all about an unmarried aunt who spends her life in upbringing of three kids of her sister. Sanaya will be seen playing the role of the aunt. The name of the show is tentatively titled as Meenu Mausi.
Actor Aditya Redij will be seen opposite in the show. This is definitely some great news!

Article on Sanaya ... and other TV shows

http://www.fuzionproductions.com/top-10-tv-actors-traits-loved-fans/11/

Article mentioning Sanaya, posting here because I am so starved of any Sanaya news, any little drop is welcome!

"Thy name is a true professional. it is rare to find an actor so professional, who knows how to make a complete and successful balance between work, fans, friends and personal life. She doesn't believe in encouraging nonsense or even for that matter giving any false hopes to anyone. She believes in straight talk and doesn't like anyone commenting on her personal life and makes sure not to even give anyone the opportunity to. She makes sure to let her work do the talking and that's about that. Now who wouldn't love such a strong personality? We all do and respect such attitude and balance."

Updates in the last couple of months ... Sanaya totally underground, it seems she went on a month long holiday in Europe, as we got a picture of her and Mohit in Spain, on what appeared to be a cruise ship. Pic was tweeted by Mohit ... Thank god he is on twitter and takes pity on us poor fans occasionally. Arjun B was in Madrid for the IIFa awards and met up with the two, he also tweeted a couple of pictures. After that, we got a pic of San at Srman's birthday (the guy who played her brother in Chhanchhan), so we know she is back in Mumbai. No further news on her new show, and Sanaya herself is completely underground. So we wait ... and wait ... and wait ...

In the meantime, started watching Gul's new offering on Star Plus, which replaced Tamanna - Ishqbaaz. Gul has a major problem ... lack of creativity. So her main pairs are always angry young men paired with bubbly, chirpy, middle class (read poor) orphan girls ... IB is no exception. Nakuul is taking a while to settle into the angry young man role ... fortunately he is not as insufferable as ASR was at the start of IPK, although his interactions with his FL, Annika are worse and pretty senseless as of now. Also, they have no chemistry ... Nakuul is not bad, but the actress playing Annika, Surbhi C, is terrible.

As of now, the Oberoi brothers' bromance is very watchable ... Pinki, Shivaay's mom, after an OTT start, has mellowed slightly to becoming watchable, Mahesh Thakur (Tej Oberoi) is a surprise playing a very grey character, and is good to watch as always, Jahnvi, his wife is interesting and more subtle in her acting than the rest ... the rest are standard TV actors and characters. There are already three vamps in the show ... Roop, the brothers' bua ... Svetlana, Tej's mistress ... and a very, very forgettable, OTT screechy bua of the FL, who never speaks her dialogues, she only screeches them. Very, very annoying ... actually, the entire FL's family is annoying, Annika, her brother Saahil and her screechy bua. Hope Gul does not go the QH way and give the vamps major screen space ... that will put me completely off the show.
I like the middle brother, Omkara and the younger Rudra. Rudra's love interest is cute, but has been in only a couple of scenes till now. Let's see how it goes ... knowing Gul, anything is possible, but in terms of chemistry, she has missed the boat this time (actually the last couple of times - even Humsafars on Sony, the FL was terrible.) Shivaay and Annika have no chemistry, the youngest Rudra and his love interest will be the cute couple, not the hot one ... so far Omkara's love interest Ishaana has appeared in just one episode, and was overacting big time, so not much hope from that one either.
As I said, the brothers' bromance and their bond is the most watchable part of the show ... maybe that's why Gul has gotten unknown female leads.

Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke ... going well, the show continues to be well written with great dialogues, very natural and real ... but oh!!! How I miss Sanaya here! Again a very bad FL, with terrible flat dialogue delivery and blank eyes - she has NO expression in either her eyes or her voice. Am enjoying Shaheer though ... he has improved a lot from Navya days, can see the hard work he has put in ... and Supriya ji is a pleasure to watch as always. It is tough to see her in a grey role ... she makes the over-possessive mother very real and watchable, and relateable. The last episode where she suspects something between Dev and Sona, she is annoyed and restless, tries to avoid talking to Sona, is offhand and dismissive to her without being obviously unpleasant ... so real!!!

Ek Duuje Ke Vaaste ... still watching it ... nothing much to analyse, except to wonder that is Shravan really such a daddy's boy and so dumb that he can't understand the very obvious brainwashing being done by his dad? And Ramnath is as bad as any saas! So the two shows I watch on Sony ... one ML is a mamma's boy, the other is a daddy's boy. The Mamma's boy has more brains as of now, though :)

New show starting on Sony - Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhaniya ... the ML is the guy who played Titu ... he is a good actor. Will check out the show.
Also will check out a new show starting on &TV - Tere Bin (or something like that) ... a mature love story about moving on in life.

IPKKND memories ... 5 years on

Meant to make a 5 year anniversary post for IPKKND, especially as 6th June also fell on a Monday ... but am travelling and very too busy, so could not. To make up, here's a really cute article on IPKKND taking yet another country by storm ... viz. Jamaica.

http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/commentary/20160608/annie-paul-jamaicas-strange-love-indian-drama

I don't know when I first started noticing it. Perhaps it was the time I went to clear some goods I'd shipped from India a couple of years ago at one of Kingston's ports. After navigating the much improved process of recovering your possessions from the wharf, you finally end up in a large waiting room with about 50 chairs and a TV mounted on the wall in its own personal grille.
It was lunchtime by then. Sitting in front of me occupying the front rows were 15 or so large, tough-looking men, the kind of individuals who lift up crates and literally manhandle them, along with a few wimpier-looking folks there to claim their goods. All were glued to the TV screen on which a brilliantly coloured Indian soap opera was playing. The men were watching the melodrama with the helpless concentration of snakes following a mongoose's wily darts to and fro.
Some weeks later, the Smith sisters came to visit me. When I mentioned serving some Indian sweets, up jumped Sister No. 1 accompanying me to the kitchen saying she wanted to see if they were the kind of sweets Khushi makes. Khushi? "A who dat?" I asked, upon which Sister Smith informed me that Khushi was the star of Strange Love, one of two Indian soap operas CVM TV had started showing in their lunchtime slot, Monday to Friday from 1 to 1:30 and 1:30 to 2.

BOSOM BUDDY

"Whenever Khushi's upset, she retreats to the kitchen and starts making sweets," declared Sister Smith, as if she was talking about a bosom buddy.
"Really? Indian soaps are melodramas of the sickly sweet variety. How on earth had they taken Jamaica by storm?" I wondered. Sister Smith assured me that they were such fun that not only she but her parents the goodly Reverend Smith and her mom as well as her brother, a financial analyst in New Kingston, were all hooked to Strange Love. In fact, at her brother's workplace, office workers threw 'Khushi parties' after work and spent Saturdays binge-watching the serial, while at home the goodly reverend could be seen shouting at the Indian couple to just DO IT. Just kiss the girl, no man, her father would yell in exasperation as Khushi's admirer spent days and weeks gazing into her eyes, while the background music intensified in volume and sentimentality.
Strange Love, or Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, as it's called in Hindi, premiered in India in 2011. Comprising 398 half-hour episodes, the drama is the love story of an arrogant business tycoon, Arnav Singh Raizada, and his middle-class secretary, Khushi Kumari Gupta. Played by actors Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, the series has propelled both to fame and stardom not only in India but around the world where the show is dubbed into the native language of the region it is shown in. After a few years when Barun left to pursue a career in Bollywood, the show's fans went berserk, demanding his return.
OK, fine. But what is the attraction such shows hold for Jamaicans? I mean a recording artiste named Tiana has even come out with a single named Khushi that has reportedly been blowing up local radio.
"What fascinates us is the slowness of the story, the way the lovers look at each other. The music that comes up when they think of each other. Strange Love focuses on ... feelings, how people view each other, how they love each other from their hearts, not their gonads," vouchsafed a blogger named Lady Fingers.

EXTREMELY ADDICTING

Meanwhile, according to Jodian Downs: "These dramas are different, as the characters still maintain their pure innocence, and for the viewers, this is extremely addicting. Imagine yourself watching the full 20 episodes of one show just to see the main characters at least get a small peck on the cheek from their love interest."
Also, continues Downs: "The level of loyalty portrayed by each female actress for their male superior is rather humorous and astonishing for the modern female." Aha! Perhaps this explains why Jamaican men are so fascinated by Strange Love. The docile Indian female is no doubt irresistibly attractive to them, considering the independence of most Jamaican women?
Interestingly, unlike Jamaica, where Indian soap operas are appreciated as a step back to a time when love was innocent, in places like Afghanistan where they are also popular, they are considered too liberal and, therefore, threatening to Afghan culture. According to a recent article, "Afghan video editors must blur all objectionable content in the scenes, such as too much bare skin, Hindu ways of worship, alcohol and anything that could offend religious sentiments."
In Jamaica, on the other hand, Indian dramas have generated much goodwill and love of Indian culture. Long may it last!

Anddd ... she's BACK!!!! Well ... almost!!!

Halleluiah ... news of Sanaya's return ... or probable return ... on SP!!!

I would have celebrated madly maybe a year ago ... now with SP doing daily shows 7 days a week, their writing going for a toss, and their shows all fumbling and stumbling, am not as ecstatic as I might have been.

But even with that, SP has been trying out new ideas ... Everest, Ek Haseena Thi, and now Tamanna and Dehleez being good examples ... and they have stayed away from naagins, daayans, chudails and black magic. So you win some, you lose some. SP and Sony have some of the best shows currently on air  (also some very mediocre ones) ... Sony doesn't get TRPs ... neither has SP been getting good TRPs for some time ... but the kind of shows which are getting TRPs, are not the kind Sanaya wants to do, or I want to see. So hoping for the best for San ... hope this show gets confirmed soon. Her two big hits have been under the Star umbrella ... MJHT and IPK ... hope this third one is the biggest and best one yet.

First news ... came yesterday

Posted by DOP Hrishikesh Gandhi ... first inking that Sanaya is shooting something. That explains her complete and utter radio silence since the last three weeks ... when she is at the brink of starting a new show, she goes completely underground.

Tweet from SBS

Saas Bahu Aur Sazish @SBSABPNews
sanaya irani kis liye , kahan kar rahi hai shoot ??? janiye aaj 2.24 only on @abpnewstv
And finally the segment ... brief but enough for the moment!!!

Sanaya Mock Shoot for Star Plus new show
Hope the newbie is good ... memories of a certain Farhan Khan are still vivid. This will be a big ticket show for SP, so hope they get someone who can actually act. Tamanna and Dehleez have decent actors, but Silsila has horrendous ones, so keeping fingers crossed. Chances are there might be another male lead as well, waiting for more news.
Edited to add the SBB segment, which said pretty much the same thing a day later. SBS is associated with SP, so their SP news is fairly reliable.

New Sanaya article

New article on Sanaya's wedding jewelry ... adding link here for my own reference.

I love her engagement ring ... whopper of a solitaire, with a diamond encrusted band ... nice!!!

Mangal sutra is okay, I guess she won't wear it too often, hence chose a simple one. The rest of her jewelry is classy and gorgeous.

Steal The Look: TV Actress Sanaya Irani's Wedding Jewellery That Every Bride Will Fall In Love With

Telly world's gorgeous couple Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal tied the knot in a very sweet yet fun way on January 25, 2016. All their friends became a part of their beach wedding and were seen enjoying every bit of it.
The couple's choice was free-spirited when it came to the wedding arrangements and their attires. However, it was Sanaya's bridal jewellery that was the real show-stealer in the entire celebrations.
The best part about of Sanaya's wedding jewellery was that it was custom-made, everything was as per her preferences and taste. So, let us give you a glimpse of how Sanaya Irani's wedding jewellery collection looked like!

#1. Engagement ring

The first thing that grabbed the attention was the beautiful diamond ring resting on Sanaya's hand. She chose an oval cut diamond in white gold. The band of the ring was also embellished with small round diamonds. The big oval diamond embedded in the bed of small ones gave it the look of a crown.

#2. Wedding jewellery

Sanaya and Mohit opted for a day wedding, and the outfit that Sanaya selected was a beautiful golden lehenga with the contrasting red dupatta. It was a very modern wedding where the couple took the vows standing toe-to-toe, but thejewellery that graced the bride looked ancestral.

Necklace

Image Courtesy: Velvetcase (View their bridal necklace collection HERE)
The neckpiece was a royal ethnic piece made with uncut polki, deep-seated in yellow gold. An ivory pearl drop, which had a cast with a hint of green, was attached to the piece that gave it a dainty look. It looked very graceful on the bride, providing her with the maharani touch for her big day.

Earrings

The earrings were made with uncut polki in gold, in a similar manner that the neckpiece was made. Instead of just one, the earrings had two pearls, one as the centrepiece and the other at the bottom.

Nath and maang tikka

sanaya irani wedding

A bride's look cannot be complete without a maang tikka and a nath. To create a balance, Sanaya opted for relatively lighter pieces to go with the otherwise exquisite neckpiece and earrings. Neither did the maang tikka cover up her entire forehead nor did the nath shadow her face. The nath was a small one with no strings attached which allowed Sanaya's features to do the talking.

#3. Mangalsutra

sanaya irani wedding

Image Courtesy: Velvetcase (View their mangalsutra collection HERE)
Sanaya's mangalsutra became the show-stealer among all the jewellery pieces that she wore. She opted for a traditional gold yet classic design. Hermangalsutra had the traditional string of black and gold followed by the centrepiece made with three gold balls attached together horizontally. It was indeed a very traditional and beautiful design.

#4. Diamonds for the reception

sanaya irani wedding

Sanaya wore a white gown for her reception party, and the jewellery that she selected was a piece of fine art. The entire set was made with diamonds and white gold. The necklace was a string with a two-leaf pattern.

The earrings, however, were what caught our eye. They were very elaborate with elegant leaf life structures of diamonds joined together to make an intricately designed pair. They looked like silver feathers of the peacock, so royal yet so subtle.

People who turned Sanaya's dream jewellery into a reality

It was the team of renowned jewellery portal, VelvetCase.com, whom Sanaya relied upon for her bridal jewellery, and we must say, they really did a great job.

The CEO of of VelvetCase.com, Kapil Hetamsaria recalls the whole experience:
"I recollect the first meeting with Sanaya, when she had come to our office to understand and browse through our extensive design catalogue from 200+ designer networks. It was a great opportunity for us to understand her style and taste in Jewellery. It was great to see that she chose Velvetcase to design jewellery for the most important day in her life. With the help of innovative technology like 3D printing we crafted the perfect piece for her. While making bridal jewellery for Sanaya, we were constantly in touch over a WhatsApp group, where she was made a part of the whole jewellery-making process. It was an absolute delight to make jewellery for a bride as beautiful as Sanaya."
And, the happy bride expressed her joy through a testimonial that she wrote for them:
"Thank you so much VelvetCase.com for everything. You guys were absolutely great and the jewellery was stunning. Part of the reason I looked pretty on my wedding day was you guys. Thank you so so much!"
Didn't the gorgeous actress look all the more stunning in these lovely jewellery pieces? Well, we know you agree with us. So go ahead, steal an idea or two from Sanaya for your wedding jewellery, and get set to look like a rockstar bride!

TV Shows this week

Have missed Tamanna the last couple of weeks, so I'm catching up with the recorded episodes ... reached the point where Dharaa is slowly beginning to find out about her students. Her father is so sensible and wise ... Dharaa needs him around, she tends to react very immaturely at times.

Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke ... the FL is still bad, but yesterday's episode after Sona's accident appealed to me on many levels ...chiefly the way Dev, while worried sick, never lost sight of the biggest problem facing Sona ... arranging blood ... and the way he went about it ... and the way they showed it. (Will ignore the minor detail that arranging random donors would take longer than arranging blood from even a distant blood bank, as they did bring into conversation that the hospital had tried everything possible). Tina is sweet ... I think she is realising Dev's very soft corner for his mom's nutritionist!
Also the stories that Dev told Sona about the little boy ... all the struggles he went through in his childhood, why he grew up so early ... wonder if Sona will remember any of that when she recovers. If she does, she will understand Dev so much better than anyone else ... maybe even better than his own mother.

Ek Duje Ke Vaaste ... liked the terrace scene ... chemistry still needs to improve, especially from the FL, but the ML has improved tremendously. One detail I liked was Ramnath's cautionary note to Shravan ... 'be careful, Suman is the grand daughter of my guruji.'  Also liked the way the two ladies, mamiji and Masi, took Suman aside to talk to her about the pictures, and didn't blow her up in front of everyone.
The situation is very sweet ... Shravan and Suman slowly re-establishing their old friendship, but both have feelings for each other which go way beyond friendship. The bitterness, the angst, the hurt, the feeling of betrayal ... built up so much over the last ten years, has finally been put behind them, with the settling of the court case, with working so closely together over the court case, with looking out for each other's families over the repercussions of the case ... slowly they inch back towards that familiar, that comfortable friendship ... much easier to call it friendship and go back their old familiarity, than to face and accept that it is now something more.

More Sanaya snippets

IF interview with Sanaya for a long awaited and much delayed birthday segment, in which she gives nothing away regarding work, but she does seem quite confident and relaxed.
A pic from the interview ... Sanaya looks lovely and even more sophisticated and gorgeous since marriage! I love the little pearl drop earrings she's wearing.

Edited 25/04 - IF added an article on their Sanaya Mohit interview - in which it seems Sanaya is in talks for something ... as usual, the girl doesn't give much away, but her closing lines indicate she will be back soon.

Sanaya and Mohit are on board the Ariel #ShareTheLoad campaign ... a very nice campaign to be associated with. Mohit tweeted about it, and on Thursday, they appeared at a program for the same at Jaipur.

The original ad - a really, really good ad!

San and Mohit ready for the function - Sanaya looks lovely, glowing and smiling her 1000 watt smile. Mohit has started looking really good after marriage, has smartened up a lot, am sure Sanaya has a lot to do with it!
