Sanaya News

Coincidence much ... just a couple of days back, I posted a Sanaya article because I was missing her so much ... and today we get an article in TellyChakkar about her return :)
On Star Plus ... PH is the PH of Bahu Hamari Rajnikant on Life OK, as we guessed, as her mock shoot was on the sets of that show ... male lead has already been zeroed in, Aditya Redij, a good looking guy, and a decent actor.

Celebration time!!! http://www.tellychakkar.com/tv/tv-news/sanaya-back-star-plus-next-aditya-redij-likely-be-the-male-lead-160718

Sanaya Irani is back!!!
Yes, the extremely popular actress who is presently in the pink of happiness post her wedding with actor Mohit Sehgal, will soon be back in action!!
The news coming to us is that Sanaya will play the lead in Full House Media’s next for Star Plus!!
Wowiee!! Isn’t this great news?
A credible source shares some confidential information with us, “Sonali Jaffer and Amir Jaffer are presently working on a show for Star Plus. The story will focus on an unmarried mausi, who will devote her life in the upbringing of the three kids of her sister.”
And the central role of the mausi will be played by Sanaya, is what we hear.
Tentatively titled ‘Meenu Mausi’, the next big ticket show on Star Plus will be a family drama with a difference.
And the handsome hunk who would in all probability be cast opposite Sanaya will be Aditya Redij
Are your jaws dropping? Yes, this Jodi of Redij and Sanaya seems really fresh and impressive!!
While Sanaya will make her comeback to fiction space after Rang Rasiya, Redij was last seen in & TV’s Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai. Sanaya was part of Season 8 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Our source adds on, “Two popular men, Shaleen Malhotra and Aditya Redij were short listed for the lead’s role inMeenu Mausi. With Shaleen all set to bag the lead in Balaji Telefilms’ show for Star Plus, it looks as though Redij will lap up this prized offer.”
We tried our best contacting both Sanaya and Redij, but could not get through to them.
As we know, Full House Media has their successful show Bahu Humari Rajni_kant going strong on Life OK.
Producer Amir Jaffer said that the show is in its initial stage and nothing has been confirmed yet.
We dropped a text message to the channel spokesperson, but received no revert till the time we filed the story.

Sanaya Irani to make a comeback with Aditya Redij on a show titled Meenu Mausi?

Woah! Sanaya Irani to make a comeback to the fictional space with Meenu Mausi. Actor Aditya Redij has reportedly been finalised opposite her

This is the actress' return to the fictional space after Rangrasiya

Fans of Sanaya Irani who are missing their bae from the small screen have some good news. She is reportedly going to make a comeback soon with a show on Star Plus titled Meenu Mausi. It is a show devoted to a woman who has dedicated her life to the upbringing of her sister's three kids. She will play an unmarried character. It seems actor Aditya Redij who was last seen on Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai is the strongest contender to play the lead. It will be produced by Full House Media who have made Bahu Humari Rajnikanth on Life Ok.
The TV diva was last seen as Paro on Rangrasiya. Fans loved her chemistry with co-star Ashish Sharma who played Rudra Ranawat on the show. The lady got hitched at the start of 2016 with long-time beau, Mohit Sehgal.
A source close to the actor told us, "Yes, the makers are talking to Aditya. He is almost finalized to act besides her. He is very excited about the concept  and of course, his pairing with Sanaya." Aditya did a small role in Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai. His last big role was in Zee TV's Bandhan.
Star Plus' new show Ishqbaaz has already picked up a fan following. Diya Aur Baati Hum is going off-air from August. It remains to be seen which show Meenu Mausi will replace. Ekta Kapoor is making a new show for Star Plus with Shaleen Malhotra in the lead and Siddharth Malhotra's finite show is also in the offing.
Are you excited about the new pair of Sanaya and Aditya? Do let us know with your comments? Stay tuned for more updates on Bollywood Life..

The name of the show is tentatively titled as Meenu Mausi.
Actor Aditya Redij will be seen opposite in the show. This is definitely some great news!

  1. Hey Diya Di,
This show seems quite promising to me right now, something which will be like another feather on Sanaya's cap. The character of Mausi also looks somewhat new to me. I hope this comes through and we get to see Sanaya again in a fiction. Aditya Redij will also be a good co-star, hopefully like Ashish was. *fingers crossed*

I am glad that we, the fans were able to sit through these Sanaya-less months only to get the biggest bumper prize i.e her much awaited comeback. Finally, bhagwaan ne apni sunli, bas, ab aur intezaar nahi hota. Do keep on posting about any further development or news on this.

    Regards,

P.S. I caught up on Nora Robert's Key Trilogy recently. I read Key of Knowledge and did realise the point you wanted to make in your post titled "Metamorphosis: KK and SG". You have nailed it again, as usual. I enjoyed reading while comparing it with S2 SG story. I couldn't help but start imagining SG in JD. I know it's quite late now, yet I have no regrets about it. Thank you again for such lovely posts.

    1. Hi Srushti,

Yep, the show sounds promising ... it sticks to SP brand of family drama, with a healthy dose of romance thrown in, and with kids, there should be lots of light moments as well. From the PH, Sonali Jaffar is a good writer .. she is the writer of the first year or so of YHM, which was very well written, especially the Ishita-Ruhi interactions. So I have high hopes that the writing will be good, especially of the kids, which will be the most important element in the show. I'm so glad Sanaya waited for a good role ... she will have the central role in this drama and no supernatural, black magic nonsense. The guy, Aditya is a looker ... he has the right type of urban metrosexual looks like Barun, but he is even better looking, and definitely better built. The jodi has good potential. Hope he is a good actor too ... he is experienced, so that is a big plus.

Nora Roberts' Key Trilogy are good books, I enjoyed them, and I remember there were strong parallels with the SG story at one point ... of course the makers never took SG the way I wanted them too. Anyway, all that is past.

I will keep adding to the main post here as and when more news comes ... and will make a new post for the next set of articles. Am guessing news of the rest of the cast, supporting characters, kids etc. will start coming in a few weeks, depending on when they plan to launch the show. I hope they get good actors for the kids ... those will be most important.

      Thanks for posting!

  2. Hey Diya Di

Definitely, the whole cast should be good enough if the leads are such great actors. I have also seen glimpses of Aditya's acting skills in Na Aana Iss Desh..., which, in my opinion, is good, if not in league with Sanaya's. Also the kids have got to be good too as you pointed out.

Talking about Sonali Jaffer, well, my cousins have given me high impressions about YHM, specially its first year, though I haven't watched it yet. So, hopefully, it will come out nice.

I have just one complaint about this. Why choose Star Plus? Why not Sony?
First and foremost reason being, in my home, nobody watches Star Plus. I have a record of having watched not a single SP show, at least on TV. IPKKND is just partially an exception to it, coz I have watched a few episodes of it on Hotstar. Secondly, Star Plus is now looking forward to make its shows 6 days a week, I guess. Lastly, its story content, which seems quite suitable for Sony, I guess, given its urban audiences. I may be going wrong somewhere or you may find this quite childish. Don't hesitate to correct me.

I think I have to persuade my parents to start watching SP. Actually, they don't even know who's Sanaya. And they have never seen any of her shows. When I was going gaga over MJHT, they used to be contented with Pavitra Rishta. So making them see this show will be a tough task.

    Anyways thanks for replying.

    1. Hi Srushti,
Actually SP is the leading GEC (general entertainment channel) , so for Sanaya to have landed a lead role on SP, her second lead role at that, is quite a big feather in her cap. I agree that Sony has better shows, especially for urban audiences, which includes us ... but from a career point of view for Sanaya, SP is definitely a better choice.

Also I have to give it to Star Plus, they are trying to experiment with new ideas, and are not going the supernatural daayan, chudail path, nor are they doing Animal Planet with machhar makkhi, crocodile etc shows! It's a different matter that not many of their new shows click in a big way, but my major TV watching is either SP or Sony. Tamanna and Dehleez were recent shows which were very good, so was Everest a year ago, and Ek Haseena Thi. None of these dealt with kitchen politics, and they tried out new ideas. I was sure Sanaya would be on Colors, given the amount of importance she got at the recent GPA, and I was resigned that I would have to watch some crappy show for her, as I don't like a single Colors show on air currently. So I am very glad and relieved that she is on Star Plus. Sony has good shows too, but they don't get TRPs, so not so good from a career perspective for Sanaya right now.

But I completely agree with you about the 6 days a week nonsense .. in fact some SP shows are 7 days a week, and I just don't watch them, because its too much to keep up with a show every single day. SP is getting more weekend programming sorted out, so I'm hoping Sanaya's show will be just 5 days a week - 6 at most, but preferably 5.

    2. Hi Diya Di

I will agree on the fact that SP is good from the career point of view. We just can't be selfish. We should take her into consideration as well. It's her career which is at stake, not ours, right?

Well, don't know much about Tamanna and Dehleez, but have heard my friends going all praises over Ek Hasina Thi and Everest. Most of them belonged to the Everest camp, I guess. I couldn't follow TV then, 'coz I had my 12th boards that year.

Well, even I want her new show to be 5 days a week. If they make it 6 or 7 days, then many complications will arise. First of all, the makers will lose track of their main story. Second, the actors will be too overworked and won't be able to give their best. Third reason being a personal one, I will be missing out on weekend episodes, 'coz my dad won't bother to switch channels when there's a soccer match on. LOL.

Lastly, if not any other wish be fulfilled, at least the makers of Sanaya's new show should not turn it into supernatural crap or desi Animal Planet, as you called it, at any point of time, else I will quit watching TV. Again.
