ROFL and cute scenes

7th jan

why do the most touching MN scenes make me laugh so much???? Is it because Nupur's dialogues are lifted straight from the the 70's or 80's movies??? Bangalore chalte hai, Dubai chalte hain! And Mayank says - bhagne se pehle ek baar pehle mere se baat to kar leti! I laughed out loud at that one! Sure, let's have a serious round table discussion on Running Away and Where to go! Was like the scene in JWM when geet comes to Anshuman and says I ran away to you, and he says - but I never asked you to!

AS scene with A's daadi and A's monologue after that ... seriously, does Adhiraj really expect Su to fall into his arms after that jibe?!

Second MN scene was better - more Mayankish dialogues, so Nups forgot her filmy stuff, tho' she still has very saas bahu expressions - somehow there's no innocence left in her face. For once ... actually often these days, I preferred Mayank to Nupur.

And lots of SG today - just hunting for Nupur, but like a couple - always together. Loved two dialogues - one of Samrat - yeh Chashmish jhooth bolna kab seekhegi?! and the other scene, when Gunjan is so worried and he says, main hoon na and touches her cheek gently. Liked the scene with Dia - Samrat is so mature and sensible, so is Gunjan when she says Bauji will blame Mayank when he finds out - true, Dia, didn't you guys THINK of that? Poor gunji, left to face Bui. Liked the trio scene spiriting Nups away - much needed humour, and Samrat convo with Uday-Benji-Dia
IS Suhani going to wear Nupur's lehnga and get engaged to Adhabandar?

Addendum: Trust - that's the basis of any relationship. Nupur loves Mayank, but doesn't trust him enough to let him figure a way out, partly justified because he hasn't yet told his mom, partly unjustified because he is the more sensible person except for that one disastrous ladder scene. Mayank loves Nupur, he trusts her love, but does he trust her as a person? Does he even respect her as a person? He is so much more mature that I feel theirs will always be an unequal relationship, unless Nupur shows some signs of growing up fast. All she thinks about, dreams about is love and her Prince Charming and their dream house.

Suhani thinks she loves Adhiraj but she doesn't trust him anywhere near enough to tell him the truth about Nupur and trust that he will behave like a decent human being, her distrust is perfectly justofied because he's behaving more irrationally. Adhiraj thinks he loves Suhani but doesn't trust her at all, her or her protestations of love - their love story is still so lame it's almost legless.

Gunjan and Samrat - the basis of their relationship and the reason their love is so strong is the trust between them. The only time it faltered was when they broke up - during friendship days, when he broke her trust by not telling her about the bet, and during their love story when she broke his trust by lying about Suhani. But the trust is deep enough and the relationship strong enough that they could make up. The bet part took time, but the lying part, although the bigger rift, took almost no time - almost a year down the line, the bond had grown so strong that the trust could falter briefly but never break completely, and that's what got them back together, after the initial pain was over, they both realised that there had to be a reason for that breach of trust and the moment they got together, they could heal the breach. Also their thinking levels are similar, Samrat has grown tremendously as a person over the last year, Gunjan has grown too, but less, in the sense she is very confident about Samrat, but is still underconfident in dealing with other people, though much more so than earlier. The biggest plus in Sajan is that their maturity levels are now very similar. They think alike, they deal with situations the same way, they are both level headed and calm, and they act as a team, Samrat is always the leader of the team, but Gunjan is his close second and his conscience keeper. She really is the 'woman behind the man'. They are what most people would talk about as the ideal couple, where no one would be even able to tell who was the dominant partner because they both don't dominate the other, or even try to, they just complement each other.

Sajan again!

6th Jan

Sajan scene ... sigh ... never thought we'd get lucky and get another Sajan scene so soon!!! Haaiyyeee ... Sam staring mesmerised at Gunjan ... don't blame him, she was looking simply stunning!!! And again - the lovely conversation between them - no one is so lucky because no one has my Chashmish

Rest of episode went in a bit of a daze after that scene ;)
AS scene - he's STILL waiting for her to stop the sagai??!!!
Dia et al try to stop him
Sajan with Nups and phone call with Mayank - WHY oh why didn't Mayank tell his mom?
Nups runs away - with help from the trio.

Highlights - Gunjan looking stunning and we got a Sajan scene today!!!!

Edit - in more detail after watching repeat

GunSu … contd – finally Gunjan does tell Suhani that if Adiraj doeasn’t come back to you, maybe your love was not meant to be. A small reality check. My own opinion is that Gunjan should tell her to forget that bandar, there are plenty more fish in the sea, or bandars in the forest, but if she does that, then she’s abandoning Nupur, and she can’t do that … so poor girl is stuck.

Dia Uday Benji Bui – planning for masquerade party for New years, pandit stuff.
Part 1

Sajan scene – wow, we got lucky – a Sajan scene within two days?!!! Obviously the cv’s visited and saw all the posts on missing Sajan … we were very vocal the last few days! And what a scene – I’ve been wanting a mesmerized Samrat to stare at gorgeous Gunjan and we got him today – as mesmerized as he could be and with love, desire, want, possession … everything in his eyes … mummmmyyyy !!!! And Gunjan could see that … is this the first scene after their confession when she’s been dressed up like this and he’s looked at her like this? Maybe … every scene of their seems so fresh and unique, I fall in love with them all over again. Loved the way she was so self-conscious, adjusting her hair, looking down, oh yes, she knows what is between them now … especially after their last hug.

And then she tries to make excuses for looking so gorgeous … and he lightens up the scene, and they’re back to their normal footing again, best friends, a couple who’s together forever, so can discuss anything and everything under the sun, including his sister … then she says thanks, and they’re back to communicating with minds and souls … how effortlessly they slip from one to the other … friends, lovers, soulmates … that’s WHY this couple touches my heart so much?!!!
Sajan - Sam mesmerised

Rest of episode passed in a bit of a blur after that scene – AS part, with A still waiting for Su to stop him, Sajan with Nupur, Nupur’s talk with Mayank where he hasn’t spoken to his mother yet, and she does a Kajol of DDLJ but far less effectively … that was one of my favorite scenes of DDLJ … and Nups was nowhere near that level! So no good for me … neither was Mayank anywhere close to SRK in a direct ripoff scene … couldn’t connect to them at all. Cv’s should be careful when they do such rip-offs – SRK and Kajol are subtle actors especially when paired with each other – their eyes do most of the talking … Rati and Arjun don’t get anywhere near. The Sajan ripoff in the fields was much, much better.

Uday Dia Benji tell Nups to run away … yawn … tellybuzz articles should really stop giving away the story in such detail. Nupur runs away – ROFL moment – Mayank’s expression when he sees the love of his life – he’s not exactly overjoyed, is he?

Salvage some wreckage

AS scene - Poor adhiraj tries - he really does. But he makes me laugh in his emoshunal moments. Liked Samrat - he was talking sense for once instead of grand plans, but Adhiraj is acting like a douche bag!
Nups - filmy drama queen, falling at feet et al!

Benji Uday - amusing - badly required humor! Sayank - good as usual!
SamSU go to Gunur's house. Didn't like Sam's sherwani color! Su's ghagra and jewelry was very pretty :) Bui :(((( but thank god she didn't stop Samrat entering the house.
SamSuGunur - nice ... filmy situation but dialogues were not filmy so okay scene.

GunSu scene - so sweet! I love Gunjan! The way she told Suhani - I loved your brother for so long without ever expecting him to love me back .. 'phir bhi main usse pyar karti chali gayi'
No wonder Su tells her - now you're together aur aise saath ho ki kuch bhi tumhe alag nahin kar sakta ... sigh! Yes, that's their love story in a nutshell!

SaNu scene - verry cute and again, much needed humor and lightness! Trust Sam to lighten up the scene!

Uh oh - Nups runs away. And of course, Mayank will bring her back and become hero! Anyway, there's going to be mehndi and sangeet and a song - some miniscule part for Sajan again? But we'll see Gunjan all dressed up again and maybe at least a five second Sajan part... what fun! Within two weeks - wow!

Sajan kiss - 1st Jan

Just can't get tired of watching the Sajan scene of 1st Jan - what a beautiful New Years gift for Sajan and MJHT fans. And when I say beautiful, I mean exactly that - it was a beautiful scene, in terms of acting, dialogues, expressions, settings, everything.

The kiss was probably THE best I've seen on tv - so completely innocent and utterly januable - Sajan just define that word. From the start, when Samrat tries to lighten up what's become a really tense and emotional moment, by saying - give me my kiss which you promised me - the smile on his face is still teasing, especially when he sees her getting all red and blushing, knowing that no one else is around, they are NOT going to be interrupted this time, so no escape ;) and she never did say 'no' to that one demand of his ... her expressions when she looks at him, then looks away are the sweetest, shyest looks ... AND he's put his hands behind his back, meaning the ball's completely in your court, I'm not going to do a thing and you'd better know it.
Then he says 'Chashmish' again - in that sexy way - he wants her kiss, he's not going to break his word, but that doesn't mean he wants or desires her any the less, and she reads that in that one word ... her barriers are already down because of the tension of the past couple of days and the way they just made up, so this time, it's shy Gunjan who just cannot stop herself - she's had a hellish two days with the problems with her sister, on top of which she hated being away from Samrat, not being able to talk to him, his treating her like a stranger, and she cannot ever go through that again ... because she just loves him too much, needs him too much. For once we see Gunjan's deep love for Samrat and her need for him, which is what makes their relationship so beautiful and so unique - they are interdependant, they are two parts of a whole, they're incomplete without each other.
And so she comes closer, and his smile dies as she comes so close, because he loves her and wants her ... he looks at her when she's barely a whisper away from him and sees how nervous she still is - nervous but determined, because she wants this too, only it's a huge, huge step for her - so he gently turns his face to let her kiss his cheek, and the smile's back on his face because she would have kissed him if he'd wanted that - and that's all he needs.
Then she steps back and looks at him - her expression is indescribable, but it's perfect ... and she hides her face in his shoulder, holding on to him again, completely and utterly happy and at peace - she's where she belongs. And he holds her again, his hand on her head in a gesture that's protective, possessive and proud - she's his completely, and he knows it, knows that one simple kiss meant the world to both of them. Did he kiss her when he buried his face in her hair??? And Gunjan's last expression just before the doorbell rang - it was an echo of the neck kiss scene - there was subtle, but very definite desire there ...an awakening of the physical part of their relationship from her side as well.
The post kiss hug was perfect - 10/10!!! Passion and purity in a unique and mindblowing blend. I get goosebumps every time I watch that scene.

EDIT: Gunjan comes to Sam's house and the first hug (edited on 7/1/10)
Sam opens the door and sees only Gunjan - his eyes never move frome hers from the moment he sees her. His face shows first surprise, then his hurt and anger is back. Then she looks at him, and her eyes show her fear, her question 'are you still angry with me, are you still not talking to me?' and the answer she sees in his eyes is a yes, so her eyes start to tear up ... no, she can't bear it any more, please Samrat ...
The others notice them, but they don't even see the others, then Suhani, thankfully for once sensitive to someone's feelings other than her own, takes a very willing Dia and Uday away and Gunjan's eyes show her pain as she looks at Samrat again ... and now, regardless of what happened, how hurt he was, he can't bear it either, because he never could see her crying and today is no exception. He tells her to come in, and she does, slowly, wondering what to say, what to do, all she wants desperately is to kill the distance between them, because she can't take it any more, she can't be away from Samrat any more, even though she knows she hurt him, even though he hurt her by not understanding why she hurt him.
So she turns and looks at him, they both look away because they both can't stand each other's pain, the distance is killing them both, then she says 'Samrat' in a voice that's breaking (shit Sanaya, HOW do you manage this voice) and that is just IT for him. He CANNOT take it, can't take her pain, her tears, especially now when he's caused them, he holds out his arms as though to say - come back, just come back to me and it will all be okay - she runs into them and she's home and safe again ... and he's complete again, holding her in his arms, cradling her against his shoulder while she cries out her pain and he holds her like a child to comfort her, and like a lover because she's his and always will be.
And she cries out, please, don't get angry with me, don't ever stop talking to me and don't, don't ever call me Gunjan again ... the last was the deepest hurt, because she's and only his Chashmish - she's Gunjan to the world, but only Samrat's Chashmish, and his calling her that makes her his, puts his claim on her, which is all she wants. She doesn't need any sagai, any ring, any engagement ... all she needs is for Samrat to call her Chashmish, and to not allow anyone else to call her that. When Nupur told Mayank, I will wear only one ring and it had better be yours if you know what's good for you, I remembered Gunjan saying this and Nups' tears and her pain faded into nothingness ... no wonder Bauji allowed Gunjan to go back to Mumbai with Samrat ... he must have seen the depth of feeling in their eyes, and its sheer purity.
This couple is magic ... and I haven't even reached the promises yet :)

After KDMG, now KMJHT

4th Jan 2010

Didn't really watch much of the episode, tbh, it was full of crying nups ... crying is full saas bahu style ... "bauji, bauji" ... and the rest was Adharaj :(

But one dialogue of Bauji's caught my attention - don't know in what context he was saying it ... the fact that Mayank is only son of single mother, struggling financially, far from settled ... which father would agree to give his daughter to a boy like that? At the moment, that is ... Mayank has no security he can offer Nupur, and he's still studying. True, he's a brilliant student, and has great prospects, but that's in the future ... right now, he's zilch.

Counter argument of course is that what's the big hurry to get Nups married anyway - and I agree totally with that one. But if you're comparing the two guys from a parent's pov, Adhiraj with a sound family and (presumably) financial background, is by far the better prospect. Added to which, he has been behaving like a doodh se dhula bachcha in front of Bauji and Bui (did he bribe that woman?!) while Mayank has been threatening to run away with her and ignore what's right and what's wrong - seriously, Mayank, Nups has given you brain damage!

Now Samrat, on the other hand, has been such a good boy in front of Bauji ... smart too, since Bauji has the last word, not Bui! Kept quiet in front of Bauji, told Gunjan that he respected her father's decision (again in front of Bauji) and has wisely stayed out of the way till now during all this ruckus in case Bauji or Bui sees him flirting with Gunjan (as he seems to be completely incapable of stopping himself from doing that!)

So I'm completely okay with seeing SG maybe once a week in MJHT, and avoiding the rest of the KMJHT episodes completely for the rest of the week. Can drool over the last SG scene and the mega episode scenes for quite some time and pretend MJHT airs only once a week very happily :)

WHAT A WAY TO START THE YEAR!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!

1st Jan 2010

oh boy oh boy oh boy ...!!!! Still reeling from Sajanmania ... in an ocean of crappiness, how do they breathe life and freshness and poetry into every frame they come in??? Do they have separate dialogue writers for themselves? Do they write their dialogues on their own? HOW have they managed to keep their Sajanness intact where ALL the others have just sunk into oblivion?

SRK Kajol are a fabulous couple because they emote with their eyes. SG/Monaya are following strongly in their footsteps - and today was a prime example! The eyes spoke ... especially Gunjan, and the emotions in the voices ... perrrrfect!

Right from the second Samrat opened the door to instantly lock his eyes on Gunjan, the pain, the question in her eyes - are you still angry with me? his eyes reflect the pain in hers because whatever happens, however angry he is with her, he can't see her in pain, it's equally painful for him and anyway, who else is he going to share it with? But he's still not quite ready to forgive ...

Then the siblings disappear (for once!!!!) and he sees the tears in her eyes as she looks at him again, and that's kind of that for him ...

And oh, the BG music is fabulous ... soft, soothing with more than a hint of pathos as Gunjan comes in, still wondering what to say, what to do, because she can't bear the distance any more now they're face to face

And then she turns to face him and he's just looking at her, they look away then back ... and that's it. She says Samrat, her voice breaking (HOW does Sanaya do this every time - tears in her voice as though she's trying her best to control herself - never a dramatic breakdown or hysterical sobbing) ... and he's done for. Holds out his arms, she runs into them, he says one word - no, not sorry, just 'Chashmish' and she lets her feelings out - don't ever get angry with me, don't ever stop talking to me and don't, don't ever call me Gunjan again. The simplest of dialogues, straight from the heart, everything that hurt her, she says it straight out.
And so does he - I trusted you more than myself, that's why you hurt me so much more than Suhani ... and she counters him with how he hurt her, and they're back to sharing everything, no holds barred.

Then they hold hands - signature Sajan - friendship and love, and make their promises all over again ... and teasing Samrat is back - I'll never think about any other girl again - while she's wondering, he adds 'especially not that Gunjan' ...
Then he asks for his kiss again, teasing again, but teasing fades as she comes closer ... oh shit, not again "Chashmish" in that low, husky voice (only this time his throat wasn't bad, but the "Chashmish" was as sexy as ever) - and the part which stole my heart - he turns his face just as she comes close, so she kisses his cheek, and he smiles ...
And the post kiss was amazing ... the shy half smile on Gunjan's face and the way Samrat looks at her, then she hides her face in his shoulder, they hold each other tight, his hand stroking her hair in a gesture that's both protective and possessive, and she's at complete peace again, and he's just happy that she's back.

Rest of episode - how to save MN ...
Oh, the first Gunjan and Bauji scene was good too - when Bauji asks 'voh kaisi hai?' Gunjan answers, then her eyes plead with him and Bauji holds her gaze very briefly, then looks away.

EDIT:
Shortest apology on record - Gunjan: Samrat ...
Samrat: chashmish ...

end of apology :) :) :)

Loveliest hug - the post kiss Sajan hug, it was as though they were complete, happy and unutterably content to be exactly where they were - in each others' arms. And could have stayed there forever - except for siblings again!!!!
Honestly, Sajan need an outstation trip on their own ... on second thoughts, with Gunjan's inhibitions about PDA having just dissolved, that might be a bit dangerous! But I wonder if this will be a turning point of sorts in their relationship - till now, Gunjan never felt that she could ever lose Samrat because he was so completely and obviously crazy about her so she never really loosened up about PDA. Will it be different now?

On the other hand, what I like best about their love story is that it is a very private one. The whole world knows that they are together, but they're content to just be together, they don't have to/want to/need to show it to anybody else. Felt this when Samrat said - okay, stop talking about us, let's concentrate on MN. Not only Gunjan, even he is uncomfortable showing his innermost feelings to the world, and his love for Gunjan is what makes him most vulnerable, even more than his family story. So he doesn't really want to share it with anyone except for her, doesn't want anyone except Gunjan to know how much she really means to him. Unlike the MN story, which is now being conducted in full view of the entire gang. Even the SG make up was very private - Dia Uday brought Gunjan to Samrat, and then left them alone. No bheedh bhadakka, no making up in front of the whole world, no loud declarations of ILU and we need to announce it to the world - they made up quietly and on their own, and when the rest came in, they didn't even talk about it - it was over and done with and they were back where they had always been - together. And the others knew that all was okay again because the smiles were back on their faces.

Ah ... and they definitely don't need a 'pehli baar' in the barn to reinforce how much they love each other!!!

What a way to end the year

31st Dec

Hopefully this means an end to saas bahu saga as well.

Oh no - SamAd eyelocks are back - can we end those too?
Nups staring at bauji with hurt look, and Su saying All the best to Ad - the only remotely subtle and non-filmy parts.

Precap - ROFL ... Bauji tells Gunjan, mera naam ooncha rakhna, she promptly kisses Samrat ... am looking fwd to the kiss, but couldn't help laughing at that one!
Sam tells Mayank about Nups shaadi ... the only thing missing was the drumrolls and the focus on each character to make it TOTALLY Balaji show!

Back!
