This is a shocker - Sanaya to work again with 4 Lions and Gul for a web show.
Posted by none other than Gul ... who finally did admit there were differences between her and San ... but 'mutual respect for work' remains ... yeah, right! When she was age shaming San, she forgot the mutual respect. With that debacle of IPK3 maha flop, it was proved conclusively that it was neither the actor, nor the character of ASR that made IPKKND, nor was it even the beautiful music ... tried all three together ... but naah, nada, zilch. Gul and her tall claims bit the dust ... now she rediscovered 'her mutual respect' for Sanaya!
Hope this is not another Tanhaiyan ... Gul really has no imagination when it comes to love stories, and from what I've heard, Tanhaiyan was just an urban re-hash of IPKKND.
But since I do have more faith in San than in Gul, am hoping that San would not have agreed to do a reprise of IPKKND, and this will be something different.
Anyway, San has a few projects in her kitty ... Zindabaad 2, Ghost and now this one ... so like 2018, 2019 promises to be a good year for Sanaya. Hope we get a part 2 of the music video too ... Main Jaandiyan is one of my favorite songs these days.
And hope this web show is on Hotstar, now that it is finally available in the UK.

Sanaya Irani who continues to remain popular as Khushi from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, a show by 4 Lions Films, is all set to reunite with the dynamic production house but this time for a web show. Sanaya met up with producer Gul Khan recently which left us wondering if there is some good news for the fans. Guess what? It is happening, for real. The untitled show is still in its nascent stage and will be a love story, confirmed Gorky M, film director and co-producer, 4 Lions Films.
When asked if they are reuniting with Sanaya, Gorky M exclusively revealed, "Yes. We will be reuniting with Sanaya for one of our upcoming projects. We are putting a lot of effort in the script but still working out the details regarding dates etc. As far as other details are concerned- just wait and watch is all that I can say! This is just the tip of the ice berg. He also added, "I am spearheading this initiative into the digital space and more details will be revealed soon but I am really excited about this.
Without divulging more details, Gorky M confirmed that the show will be a love story. He said, "It will be a love story. As far as production is concerned I am finalising the details but yes, 4 Lions will be involved. The project is most likely to go on air next year, however, nothing more is known on the same so far.
This indeed is a reason to rejoice as it couldn't get better than this.
4 Lions Films has produced many popular shows including Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Qubool Hai, Ishqbaaaz (ongoing), Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala (ongoing), Nazar (ongoing) among others. Apart from that, Gorky M directed the hit digital show Tanhaiyan starring Barun Sobti and Surbhi Jyoti which went live in 2017 and had received a marvellous response.

I am really wondering about the reason behind the reconciliation between gul and sanaya.Like who initiated and why?Career wise gul is doing good,one of her shows is in top 5 after quite some time and she has more shows coming up on SP too,SP is pretty meherbaan on her even after ipk3 (perhaps because if there have been ipk3 and DBO then there have also been ishqbaaa and kulfi and nazar).Even if gul's PH wasn't doing good, a producer never really needs an actor as actors (no matter now popular online) can't guarantee trps.So gul does not need sanaya for a trp hit show.A web series I suppose does better if there are popular faces involved.So,that could be one reason behind her working with sanaya again.But why does gul want to produce a webseries when her shows are doing good trp wise(tv obviously gives more money)?Earlier she showed no interest in webseries even after tanhaiyan received a huge response.

Did sanaya make the move to reconcile?One point that one can make is that sanaya's career is not doing so well right now
so she might need gul and the popularity her shows bring more.But people who have followed her will know sanaya is not like that,she is headstrong,has self respect,does not kiss ass (definitely not of those people who said so many things against her).
May be neither of them initiated for career reasons and both just reconciled initially as a way of moving on or showing maturity and later the decision of working together again was made?
Who knows what happened?
I look forward to the web series though,I thought tanhaiyan was good timepass even if it didn't have any 'serious'content.The characters were different too,no angry manhandling young man with too bubbly,unsophisticated young girl (kind of the opposite,actually).It also had a pretty great soundtrack and everything and everyone looked pretty good hehe

I haven't watched Tanhaiyan, so no comments on that. My remark about it being an urban rehash of IPKKND was based on some comments I read online.
DeleteI have a theory about this reconciliation, but will wait to see if I am right. Sanaya was out of sight the last couple of years, but has been very visible work-wise this year, so not sure if the reason for the reconciliation is that her career is 'not doing well', as you said above. It's certainly doing better than it was the last couple of years.
On the other hand, you have a point ... the last 2-3 years, she has been approached for two or three TV shows as lead, 2 got scrapped, and we don't know if the third was ever a possibility, as there were just a couple of online articles, and no real confirmation. But after that, there has been no news or even rumors of her being approached for any TV show. She gave a couple of not very clever interviews about being more interested in the web, and TV being down the tubes ... not clever, because all said and done, her fame and popularity today is because of TV, so those remarks were not in good taste. I found them surprising also because she has always been very supportive of TV and her work on TV. Maybe she felt at the time that web was good enough as a career option. So maybe her offers dried up as a result of those earlier interviews, and she felt the need to backtrack. And fortunately in her last few interviews, she has again acknowledged the reach of TV, and that whatever she is today is because of TV. But web is growing tremendously, so it's a good time to explore web options.
Which again doesn't answer the question of why Gul? I am inclined to believe Gul approached Sanaya, and not the other way around, but I also feel Sanaya has sent out a message to channels and PHs alike that she is very much back in work mode, with her back to back projects this years. And channels and PHs alike have also noticed the good response her projects get online. On TV you don't need popular actors, but currently on the web, popular actors definitely help in getting views.
For more, I will wait till we get more news about this project.
