1st - 4th June
The accident, 3 years later, entry of two new characters, and a changed Samrat - grown up, sober, mature, who's forgotten to smile. Also a coldly bitter unforgiving Mayank, who has channelised his grief into his work - finally a return to the original Mayank.
But who died? Neither of the girls makes an appearance except in flashbacks and the CV's keep us guessing the whole week. Reason and logic says it's Nups who died, but the SBS and my own emotional attachment to Gunjan and Sajan make me fear the worst. Until the Friday episode when it's finally clear - Nupur died in the accident.
The Friday episode was also interesting for another reason - the sheer relief of tension made me now appreciate the episode again - and the other interesting feature was the entry of Samrat's mother, a character we've been waiting for since so long. And for me it wasn't disappointing. In contrast to our earlier thoughts that Gunjan will bring Samrat and his mother together, it seems the reverse will happen, and she will bridge their distances. Or rather, the first has already happened, because it was obviously the loss of Gunjan, and of Nupur and Mayank, that bridged the gap between Samrat and his mother after the initial ice-breaker of 5 crores. And now, waiting for Gunjan's re-entry - hopefully NOT with baby in tow - and the final chapter of the Sajan story. Or the next chapter - but they have been through so much, can't even imagine what is left! Except - fingers crossed - a happy ending! Unless Sajan manage to retain trp's and the CV's decide to put them through yet another trial of fire!
