Sanaya News

Article in IF ... which is a very unreliable site as far as Sanaya news is concerned ... however as news has started trickling in, am updating it here.

http://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/buzzin-hot/37538-sanaya-irani-upcoming-show-on-sony-tv-gets-its-final-title.htm

Post her stint in Rangrasiya on Colors, there is a major buzz in the media that Sanaya Irani will be back to entertain her fans on the small screen with a new show on Sony TV
We are talking about the channel's upcoming show, that was tentatively titled as 'Behane' initially. The show will depict the journey of a girl, who will be suffering from a health ailment, similar to the hyperactivity syndrome.
As per latest developments, the makers have now zeroed down and locked its final title!
According to our source, "The show is now titled as 'Rab Se Manga Tuje'. The shoot will commence soon."
There is also a buzz that 'Rab Se Manga Tuje' might replace Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi.

Sanaya News ... finally!!!

Finally!!! There was a pic yesterday on some photographer's insta account, which he reposted with a title 'Work mode" ... Shoot ... which got me all excited, though I tried to contain myself!

And now today we got a byte ... Sanaya and Mohit attended the Yash Chopra Award night, where SRK was awarded by Rekha ... Sanaya gave a small byte, where she did not say anything about her new project, but it was clear she HAS a new project ... halleluiah!!!

And how lovely was Sanaya looking ... in a nude glitter top with a gathered dhoti skirt and a matching cape with a touch of green ... very elegant outfit. It's good to see Sanaya making more of an effort and dressing up a bit for these award nights ... she looks lovelier and lovelier!

The Curtain Falls

After ages, I feel like writing about an  episode of a show!

Kuch Rang Pyar Ke ... have been following it off and on after the leap, and today was a good episode. Sonakshi tells Dev that she did bring his six month daughter to meet him, she did not want her child to grow up without a father, she knew he  knew what it felt like and she didn't want his daughter, their daughter, to go through the same thing. So she brought a six month old baby to meet her father ... and was turned away at the gate. Not only was she turned away, she was sent away with the message that she needn't ever come back again. Now the guard saw the baby in her arms, it's not easy to hide a wriggling six month old even if you try, and Sonakshi wasn't even trying ... so it was natural for Sonakshi to assume that the message was meant for both of them.
Yet Sonakshi has to prove ... yet again, as she point out to Dev ... that she is telling the truth. Which she does ... as she knew Dev might demand proof she carried it. She obviously knew Dev very well.
And a furious, still-not-quite-believing Dev calls up his home, summons all his family members to the speakerphone and demands to know who sent Sonakshi back six years ago, and didn't tell him she had come.

His mother. Saint Ishwari ... halo pretty tainted by now, but still saint.

And I think that was the final straw ... the final nail in the coffin ... the last bit holding the halo up fell with a crash ... as did the scales from Dev's eyes. He is shattered ... absolutely shattered .... as much as by what his mother did, turning away Sona without telling Dev, turning away what could have been an attempt at reconciliation ... as by the fact that by doing so, she snatched away his final chance at happiness, his own child, and let him wallow in grief, rage and bitterness for seven long years, in the name of 'protecting' him. Finally the curtains fall from Dev's eyes ... his mother is not God ... no, she is not ... she is a human being, human beings make mistakes ... and the mistake his mother made six years ago, ruined his life, robbed him of his child, robbed him of her babyhood and her early years forever, for those years, now gone, will never come back. And if he is lucky enough to see the rest of her childhood and her life, it will be because Sona chose to come back to Delhi.

And Sonakshi sees that he is shattered by the news ... she hasn't heard who the culprit was, but Dev is shattered, she can see ... she tries to console him as best she can, her tone softens, as she tries to tell him she did want her child ... their child ... to know her father, to be involved in her babyhood, her childhood, to take her first steps with her father's hand holding her ... Sona wanted all that. But now that it hasn't happened, she begs Dev ... please, whatever you want to do, think about Soha first. You know what it's like to grow up too fast, to lose out on your childhood, please don't make your daughter go through that. Put her and her needs, her feelings first.

And her words hit home even through the haze that Dev is reeling in.

The Dev-Ishwari scene was another gem ... where Dev's eyes burn fire at Ishwari ... when he talks bitterly about his love being snatched from him and now his child ... he doesn't name his mother as the culprit, but his burning eyes accuse her ... he will stay without his child, but he will not bring her to this toxic house ... he is reeling at the deceits, the lies of people he knew and trusted, how will a small child understand them ... how will they explain to her how and why her mother was turned away from the gate ...
Yes, Dev has finally understood his mother and what she has done to him and Sona ... and he will not allow her to destroy his child's life the way she destroyed his, even if it means punishing himself by staying away from his own child.

I could not make out if Ishwari felt guilty or merely baffled at the thought of staying away from his own child ... I think the latter, because in the temple as she prayed, she showed absolutely no signs of guilt at all.

What I want now ... Dev to stop trusting Ishwari completely ... every time she says anything, specially about Sona or Soha, he calls Sona to check with her if that is true. To believe Sona over Ishwari. To ask Sona if he can visit Soha at the Bose home ... to tell  Sona that no, he is not going to take Soha away ... to visit Soha in the presence of her mother and grandparents ... to make clear to them too that he is not there to take her away ... and to not allow Ishwari to visit Soha at the Bose's house. To make it clear to Ishwari that she has destroyed his life, and he won't allow her to destroy his child's.

Performances - Shaheer was brilliant! The breakdown, without a word ... the silent anguish, the guilt, the absolute bafflement, the torment in his eyes as he takes in the fact that his own mother has deprived him of his child ... and then the burning anger, the accusation in his words as he spoke about Suhana to Ishwari ... he didn't accuse Ishwari in so many words, but it was very clear the scales had fallen from his eyes, and he clearly saw her role in the destruction of his marriage. Even when Mamji tried to remonstrate with her about sending Sona away without telling Dev ... Dev saw Ishwari's lack of remorse ... her shock and horror only came in when she realised she had sent away her own grandchild. Two strong scenes ... and I have to say, Shaheer nailed them both. He's the reason I'm writing this post ... especially the scene with Ishwari. I hope the CVs don't prove me wrong on this one!!!

Erica was good too ... the softening in her tone and her eyes when she sees Dev's shock ... the way she tries to comfort him as best she can ... and then pleads with him to do what is best for their daughter ... nice dialogues.

Musings ... and POW

Made the mistake of watching DBO first episode ... seriously, Gul has completely lost it!!! Such a ripoff of IPK that it's not even funny! I caught it because I rather liked Omkara's character in IB, whatever little I saw (I found it unwatchable despite actually trying, as I liked Nakul from PKDH) ... but again, Gul maata and her tiny brain which has just one storyline which she repeats ad nauseum in all her shows!  First episode itself was such a rehash of first episode of IPK that I gave up on the show then and there. The only scene I liked was the phone conversation between Shrenu and Anika ... because that was actually something new, and not copied ... and both the actresses were okay ... they were a bit serious in the scene, which they can manage ... they are both terrible when it comes to trying comic stuff ... I say trying, because neither of them can manage it without going unbearably OTT! Makes me appreciate Sanaya and her comic timing even more ... were her lines and scenes actually better, or did she just manage to make them better because of her acting? No wonder there has never been another Khushi since IPK! None of these actresses can manage it ... and Indian TV comedy writing is anyway terrible.

The actors are all hamming big time, except Rahul Dev, who was very good, experience shows! ... and Omkara (don't know the actor's name). Shrenu needs to calm down, as does her mother and chachi ... especially chachi ... that woman was AWFUL!!! Gul is still trying unsuccessfully to find another Khushi ... none of her subsequent actresses have managed to carry off that craziness nearly as well!!! And she's also trying to find another Mami ...  again unsuccessfully. Seeing these clones reminds me why IPK was such a craze ... not just the leads, but even the side characters were so good ... they had their OTT quirks, but they managed to keep them real. First Anika, and now Shrenu ... they are both terrible when trying the OTT cute bubbly stuff.

Ah well ... the wait for Sanaya continues ... in the meantime, POW is my saviour ... what a fab show. It's become even better since Siddhant entered, and the last two weeks have been amazing ... I wait for the next episode literally from the second the last one gets over ... and have been re-watching some of the episodes to savour the full flavour. Again, I wish San gets to act in a show like this ... even a small role in such a good show will be more than good enough. I have been loving Nazneen the last few weeks ... not surprising, Sandhya was in another favourite show of mine many years ago, Koshish, and she was very good there too, though the show stealer in that one was Varun Badola. She has been fabulous in the entire Karachi track ... and I love her scenes and her equation with Imaan.
