Current TV Shows - Random Ramblings

IKNMP - is it only me, or did the setting of the Ronit-Pallavi dance in the precap of IKNMP resemble the Teri Meri dance of IPK very closely? The dark stage, with fairy lights in the background, the couple on stage, the man in white, the lady in gold and black ... as opposed to the man in black and the lady in emerald green in IPK ... a sensuous song and dance with very few dance steps (seems Ronit is almost as bad a dancer as Barun, couldn't make out how good Pallavi is from the precap) ... a song and dance which has more to do with feelings and emotions than with dance ...

The four girls dancing with Neil were good ... Mona and Aishwarya are more natural actors than Prayusha and the fourth girl. Ronit is not a very good dancer ;) but he tried his best, and clever editing and camera tricks did the rest.

So Pam discovers that Ragini and Aman have lied about being married ... her worst fears may come true, and Neil and Ragini can get together again, there is nothing to stop them, not now that Ragini is single and not married, as Pam thought. So Pam will of course take immediate steps to preempt any possibility of that happening.

From yesterday ... Ragini's mother knows about Suhani's secret ... and hides the sari she sent for her mom.  Does Ragini even know of Suhani's existence?

Everest ... as it nears the end, it still holds interest ... slowly, one by one, all the characters have conquered their personal Everests ... Col Abhyankar, Arjun, Rongta, Chand, and now Aakash. Last one left ... Anjali.

  1. dia,

i'm sorry to disagree a bit.even after years of IPK,teri meri magic is intact and unbeatable.the feelings involved were totally different, costumes, setting may be similar[i somehow didnt like neils costume, black suit[or like that of aman] would have been better.btw, song is good.

arnav finally taking a bold stand, khushi lost in the mesmerising dance, arshi realising their feelings ALL THESE FEELINGS cant match with neil-ragini's confused state of minds.and the emotions do hold a lot of importance in such dances with actually less of dance:-).i felt like that.

i didnt really enjoy that OSO dance.i really felt that they're trying to project ronit as some superhero/centre of attraction.i agree with u,he's not a great dancer and he kind of looks older ,but his acting overrides all these factors.

besides, their creative head, nivedita basu recently said iknmp is basically ronit roy's show.she seems facinated by biggies like sakshi, ram kapoor, etc.i didn't like that atitude.Just bcoz pallavi was on a hiatus,u cant ignore the talent she has.she perfectly fits ragini's role than sakshi might have, though she has an amazing screen presence,i really liked her as priya.

[ironically, just read a TB article that the makers are in talks with sakshi tanwar for an imp. role in IKNMP!]

    more later.

  2. Ratna,
I didn't say this sequence was better than Teri Meri ... I just said it reminded me very strongly of Teri Meri. I wanted to withhold comment till the episode aired. And after watching the episode tonight, I have to say, Ronit's seniority notwithstanding, the Arshi Teri Meri was far better ... for one, both Ronit and Barun might be comparable as equally bad dancers, but Sanaya made up for Barun, while Pallavi was equally stiff as Ronit ... and in terms of expressions, today I felt both Pallavi and Ronit lacking ... while both Barun and Sanaya were spot on in Teri Meri. And Barun and Sanaya's chemistry on that dance floor was simply scorching ... Ronit and Pallavi were nowhere close.

Pallavi is a weaker actress than Ronit ... I felt her very weak when the show started ... she has improved a lot ... but I don't agree that the show is Ronit's show ... it wouldn't be anything without Pallavi, or rather without both of them together. And honestly, Ronit is decent looking, but not THAT great looking the way they're making him out to be a super hero. I think these channel ladies are all the same, they all fangirl over the male leads, and forget that the female leads are the glue that hold the show together. And it's the male leads who give them maximum trouble ... the FLs all slog it out quietly.

I saw BALH in bits and pieces ... I think Sakshi is a better actress than Pallavi ... Pallavi is a little stiff, and her voice modulation is not always good, she sounds very harsh many times. But she's okay ... I'm following IKNMP more for the story, and not for any of the actors ... so as long as they are decent, I don't care much. Yep, I read that article too ... I feel Sakshi might play the dead Rupali, in which case she will be a cameo ... if not, and she's coming in for a full fledged role, then I feel even worse for Pallavi. Sakshi will make sure she gets a very meaty role and is the main FL ... she won't settle for being second to Pallavi. That's if it's more than a cameo ... let's wait and see.

    1. I have to add ... the Aarav-Ranbir-Shilpa love triangle is really STUPID ... Aarav and Shilpa are sixteen years old, for pete's sake ... can't Ekta think of any other conflict between three teenagers other than a love triangle?! And Aagham and the friend Aakash making it out to be a grand love story is even more stupid ... they should beat some sense into Aarav's head.

Also ... can Pam stop talking so much?! Once she starts, she goes on and on and on and on ... what a person can say in ten words, she takes a couple of hundred ... someone shut her up!

    2. And lastly ... Ragini's mother talks to Neil about Suhani. So Ragini knows about Suhani's existence? And Aarav and Nishi don't know about her?

    3. I watched today's episode of YHM after watching IKNMP ... sangeet in both the shows ... YHM sangeet was so much better done. It looked like a proper wedding sangeet, everyone present jumping in along with the scheduled performances ... while IKNMP was just one set of performances after the other ... wedding sangeets are not like that!

    4. dia,

i got ur point abt dance, even i noticed the similar spotlights, fairylights etc. on a closer watch.and they changed the song too,y'days precap song was much better.i was like,SURAJ HUA MADHAM?seriously?and both were looking SO stiff.and there is no question of chemistry, they simply lacked it.have to admit, pallavi looked really stiff, why do u have to look so strict in a dance like this?????

the parallel tracks are of no use.nishi-jignesh have no spark while arav-shilpa story is just illogical.i think they should show more karan, dimpy,RK,sunny tai, aman, etc. instead of wasting time like this.

PAM,oh,she's unbearable, have to lower the volume the minute she starts speaking.she ruined the sangeet today with that announcement.i think old kasam se viewers would understand the viewers plight, she must have been the same there.

contrary to expectations, naani and even RAGINI are aware of suhani's existence.there goes all the theories of suhani being ragini's child, unless there's another twist[courtesy pam.]

YHM bores me dia, totally.and after reading that mihir is going to marry rinki, dont think there's any hope for story to be back to its former glory.i prefer CAS or SNS over it.waisey, did u,by any chance, caught SNS post leap ?and its the no.1 show again.hail the 3000 trp households, seriosly!

  3. Last 2-3 episodes of Everest .. I liked today's episode ... a lot of time and space given to Chand's death and everyone's reactions.

    1. Not yet, but thanks for the info Singapore Fan. Just watched the last episode of Everest and must say, it was a very enjoyable journey from start to finish - wish IPKKND or RR had followed a similar format and told the story they were initially meant to. Oh well, no point in that anymore.
Will definitely check out Mahakumbh - any idea if this is a limited episode edition or the never-ending garden variety?
