Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh ... As I thought, Samarth has not turned a new leaf. He's merely trying new tactics.
Will Shobha fall for them?
Vikram is suspicious already.
Good to see Samarth knows his vamp sister through and through ... and is trying to figure out what her interest is in making Shobha leave her job. In the precap, Sarika tells him ... Shobha and Vikram were having an affair. Now what will Samarth do? He can't very well throw Shobha out ... he had multiple affairs and Shobha is giving him a chance despite them ... can he exhibit such blatant double standards?
Itn Na Karo Mujhe Pyaar ... Ragini is hot-tempered, impulsive, judgemental and prone to irrational, ill-thought out decisions in the heat of the moment. She is also sanctimonious in her unbending defense of the 'truth'.
Neil/Nachiket is irrational when it comes to Ragini, and a bit too ready to believe his extremely annoying sister, Pam, whenever she goes into a rant about Ragini.
But both have feelings for each other ... both have been unable to move on because of those feelings. Both have unresolved issues, unresolved hurt ... the wounds still raw even after fifteen years ... time has not healed any of them.
Pam seems unbalanced on the subject of Ragini, obsessively so.
Nivedita is the usual scheming Ekta vamp.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein ... Is Divyanka/the writer deflecting criticism about Ishita being holier-than-thou devi maiyya for bringing her husband's ex-wife home?
Adi is the pits ... can a 12 year old boy really be manipulated so easily, and be so dumb?
I seem to be watching three Ekta shows ... my brains must be fried!

dia,
ReplyDeletewe have nothing sensible left on tv these days.infront of rashmi sharma's shows, ekta's shows are much better.btw, smitar's stories are really good.thnx for recommending them, indirectly.
ADHY:i hardly watch it.know it only from ur posts.
IKNMP:
i'm glad u r watching it.that's a good show.but both the leads are too egoistic.and why does ragini have to fake a marriage in front of nachiket?to show she has moved on,when actually she hasn't even an inch, and then fume seeing him with nivedita?and why does pam have to shout at the drop of a hat?the only thing i didnt like was the kids being split and exchanged like goods, that was not a good concept.pallavi and ronit really fit the roles.dunno but i always feel ronit looks too old[even than ram kapoor!]and pallavi looks really young.heard in the forum that the show was inspired from judaai[1980 film] of jeetendra-rekha.
YHM:
is it all abt adi ki shagun mom than ruhi ki ishimaa?raman and mrs.bhalla is abnormally mad over adi.like seriosly, the ghar ka chirag nonsense is so regressive.raman doesnt even deserve ishita.the bhallas dont care for ruhi, except her ishimaa.vandu akka is really sweet.and really,i dont care abt the jodi now,all i want is mani[why didnt ishu's appa ever consider his proposal?] to become the knight in shining armour and take his ishu away from this circus, but where is he??????
humsafars:only one qn.what happened to gul and 4lions magic?
ashoka:promos are impressive.would be good if sanish are cast as i said. cant trust rangeela, but who knows?
more later:-)
ratna.

Very well written, with proper grammar and sentence formation ... I HATE stories which are badly written, or where the English is poor ... for me to read it, it has to be correct English, otherwise I can't enjoy it.
Humsafars and Gul magic ... interestingly, Nissar Parvez, Gul's brother, has left her and is now with another PH. He was the brains behind DMG, MJHT, IPKKND and I think Geet too. He separated from Gul either just before Qabool Hai, or during it, when KSG left QH and then joined Gul as co-producer. I think more than Gul, Nissar was the one responsible for the success of the love stories. Now that he has left, Gul has lost her touch completely.
As for Humsafars, I don't like the girl, neither the actress, nor her character. So I don't watch it ... pity, because I like Harshad and I have actually watched some of his earlier shows sporadically ... both Tere Liye and Saubhagyavati Bhava - that one I watched once he came in, not the earlier domestic abuse part. Didn't watch his first show.
Ashoka ... I don't want Sanaya in this, this will be another male-oriented story. I was only a fan of Sanish for RR ... am not interested in Ashish now. I would like a new pairing for Sanaya.
IKNMP - both the leads are egoistic and hotheaded, both jump to conclusions and make wrong decisions, Neil is far too gullible where Pam is concerned and Pam shouts too much - I tend to lower the volume or mute her scenes! ;) But as a story, it's going okay ... I also can't imagine how a couple could split their kids, but the same thing happened years ago in a movie - Hare Krishna Hare Ram ... grossly unfair on the kids. It will be interesting to see how Ranbir changes ... he was the oldest, he was probably the most affected when his parents separated, and he was brought up by Pam with her irrational hatred for Ragini, which he has imbibed in full force ... his story will be the most interesting. The other kids seem to be more balanced, all have their quirks, but they don't hate the absent parent.
YHM ... I watch it sporadically ... watch when it's going well, stop watching when it becomes too idiotic ... these days the idiotic part is overshadowing, with Adi and his antics, and Raman's blind spot for Adi ... fortunately, I'm not attached to any character or any actor in any of these shows, so I can watch without any angst, and stop watching when they get too annoying :)
ADHY ... it's going to end in another 20 episodes, so there won't be too much satyanash. I skip the wicked nanad scenes, the rest is watchable ... but Shobha is getting taken in by Samarth again, which is annoying ... although it is understandable ... I think any woman would like to think that her husband has reformed, till proven otherwise.
Haven't been in touch with MB at all ... Shweta is busy, she will probably come back when Sanaya returns. As will most of us, I guess :)
thnx for replying dia.
Deletewhat i meant for asoka was sanaya has never done a historical show before,so it'll be a diff. experience.plus,in asoka story, his chief wife, empress devi,is the one he fell in love with and she is the one who had a great hand in reforming him[as per wiki].so i dont think she will be sidelined.and i really would like to see sanish again,we never got enough of PARUD in rr.
waisey, did u read my post in rr forum?that was written very hastily.but i know u'll be able to understand my feelings though di.
ratna.
I read it, ratna ... I understand how you feel ... I did watch even after Paro died, but with complete detachment ... couldn't relate to either Rudra or Myrah at all ... even less to Rudra than to Myrah, because I couldn't accept Rudra falling for another woman ever. If Sanaya had not played Myrah, I would never have watched that last two months.
DeleteSanaya did mention she would find it tough to do a mythological show because the costumes are so heavy ... don't know if the same would apply to a historical. Anyway, I want Sanaya in a main role in a heroine oriented show this time around ... or rather, a show with a strong story for both the ML and FL ... and I think that's what she will also want. She looks for performance oriented roles ... Can't say what she will take up, I will watch anything she does, because she makes it watchable for me ... but am not really keen on her playing second fiddle to the hero yet again.
Actually, I tend to get over Sanaya's costars fairly quickly ... when MJHT ended, I didn't want to see Mohit again with Sanaya - partly because he was such a mediocre actor ... when IPK ended, I did not want to see Sanaya with Barun again ... I still don't, not even if he comes with a cast iron contract ... I don't really want to see either Anuj or Ashish again with Sanaya ... i would prefer a new pairing. For me, Ashish Sanaya are Rudra-Paro and can't be anyone else ... Each new character of Sanaya is a completely new person, and I love to see a new equation with a new costar. The chemistry builds up better that way.
Anyway, that's my thinking ... I know lots of people want to see Sarun together again, and lots also want to see Sanish together again ... I'm not so bothered about her costar. As long as he is a good actor, and good looking enough to complement her, then they will be good to watch.
Hi Dia & Gang,
ReplyDeleteIts been such a long time, Tv is so boring without Sanaya in it!!!!!!!
Plus AD has been super busy and I have to share with you ladies that I got a job and have started going back to work after a looooong break, I am completely excited.
Have been watching few shows here and there randomly, so much so that I sometimes watch only written updates and they are enough to give me headaches!
Hi Ratna, you line above Quote- humsafars: only one qn. what happened to gul and 4lions magic?,
echoes my thoughts, its turning ridiculous, there is no point in discussing it, Gul has completely lost it.....sad... Looks like she is taking Qubool Hai on the same route too- polygamy seems to be her favorite topic right now..and that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Thanks for updating on your blog Dia, I keep looking at them and fingers crossed that Sanaya will be back soon and all the girls here are going to join back for the fun ;-)
Hey MB, good to see you back ... hope you will make it regular! I'm trying to post somewhat regularly and keep the blog moving ... tough job because nothing on TV is really inspiring me to write! Everything is so mediocre, there are huge gaps in screenplayand lack of logic in every show ... I wonder why we crib so much about lack of logic in Sanaya's shows, when really nothing on TV shows much logic at all!!
DeleteCongrats on your job, and on getting back to work ... and all the best!!! Am sure you will enjoy it!
Not only Gul, Sony seems to have lost the plot too ... all their shows which started off as love stories ... the Kinshuk show, HS ... have turned spooky. The kinshuk show has a bhoot, HS has become a murder mystery ... God knows what Sony is doing. I am so glad that I never watched HS at all.
Fingers crossed that Sanaya will be back soon ... TV is really boring without her ... hopefully when she is back, this place will start buzzing again :)
IKNMP was not bad today ... after two days when I was annoyed with the show .. with the way Neil and Ragini were behaving, allowing their egos and their own unresolved feelings to take over their children's lives ... using their children as pawns.
ReplyDeleteToday it was better ... the declared hatred is slowly taking a backseat, the clouds are swirling and lifting slightly, showing a glimpse of how unsubstantial the hatred really is .. as unsubstantial as a cloud, which looks so thick and dark, yet when you get close, or with the puff of a slight breeze, it swirls into nothingness. And that is the 'hatred' between Ragini and Neil ... thick, cloudy, it obscures their vision, yet it is basically unsubstantial ... melting into nothingness at the slightest hint that the other is in trouble or in pain.
So Neil could not fulfill his promise of retribution ... that if Ranbir was proved innocent, he would take Ragini's son ... he saw Ragini crying, defeated, but resigned ... not even fighting him for a moment ... and he backed off immediately ... and said as much to Dimpy ... he couldn't do it. He couldn't put her though the pain of losing her child.
And Ragini finally got a reality check ... her impulsive, hasty, poorly thought out decision to make Aarav give his statement against Ranbir had repercussions way beyond what she had dreamed or anticipated ... Nishi's wedding broken, and Ranbir's one mistake could land him in jail, give him a criminal record and blight his entire life.
From the precap, it seems the truth will come out to Neil ... that promises to be a dhamaka.
Forgot to mention ... liked that Shilpa changed her statement because of Ragini, and not because of money or pressure from Pam. So that puts Neil in Ragini's debt when he finds out ... or rather, it puts Pam in Ragini's debt.
DeleteSo Nishi's marriage broke because of Ranbir ... Ranbir's life was in danger of being spoiled by a criminal record because of himself, Neil and Ragini ... he stands redeemed because of Ragini. But how will Neil react when he hears that a) Ranbir was guilty all along and the truth was hidden from him ... and b) because of HIS son, his daughter's wedding broke?
Today promises to be a dhamaka ... I hope Aarav does manage to reveal the truth in front of Neil and Pam. And Nivedita. Will be a sight to see their faces, especially when they hear that Ranbir was saved not because of Nivedita and her lies, but because of Ragini.
That still doesn't absolve Ragini of the mess she made by rushing to get Ranbir locked up, because of her overeager zeal to expose the 'truth', without thinking through the consequences.
Liked the Thursday episode of IKNMP ... finally Neil gets to know the truth ... he knows that it was due to Ragini that Ranbir is free today ... and that Ranbir is actually guilty.
ReplyDeleteLoved Neil's breakdown scene with him, Karan and Dimpy ... fabulous actors all.
Loved the scene with Ragini and Aagham ... a boy who understands his mother, unlike her own two kids ... she is very proud of her upbringing, but today she also got a slap in the face, in the way both Aarav and Nishi blamed her for Nishi's marriage breaking. Only Aagham understood her and respected her for her stand.
Now what will Neil do? He will try to resurrect the marriage ... first step. But what about Ranbir? And Nivedita and Pam, both of whom lied to him about his son?
ADHY - Shobha on Thursday ... missed the Tues/Wed episodes, but caught up briefly with Thursday's episode before watching Friday ...
ReplyDeleteSo Sarika's plan is spoiled ... Shobha will not forgive Samarth for his violence ... good thing too.
Samarth knows Sarika's plan ... so Sarika's plan is stymied ... for the moment.
But Shobha blaming Vikram ... in a way, I don't blame her, in a way, I'm impatient with her ... yes, he told her to go back to Samarth for the sake of the kids ... but it was she who accepted that decision. Why did she do so? Was it because she is not yet truly independent? Her friend told her that if Vikram tells you to leave Samarth, it will prove he loves you. So when Vikram told her to go back to Samarth, did Shobha agree because she felt he does not love her? In other words, if she left Samarth, she would not get Vikram instead? So she still feels she needs the support of a man by her side ... if, as she says, her inner voice was warning her not to trust Samarth, she felt Vikram was not in love with her ... so she would be alone if she did trust herself and leave Samarth ... that means she still feels she needs someone, she cannot take the extreme step of being completely alone and independent. She is independent, she has kept a job and supported her family for six months ... but she does not have confidence in that independence yet, does not confidence in her own abilities to survive without support ... yet.
Anyway, first major step taken ... Shobha has seen through Samarth ... she will not go back to him as his wife. Right now, she is thinking about living with him only for the sake of the children, and ignoring her own happiness, her own dreams ... living with him only as mother of his kids, not as his wife. Next step has to come soon, when she realises either that the kids will also be happier with Vikram as a father ... or that if she is unhappy then regardless of whether their father is there or not, her kids will not be happy.
