Three new shows

Kulfi Kumari Bajewala ... I think that's the name of the show ... a new offering from Gul Khan, who is associated with another co-producer for this one.

The little girl Kulfi is cute.
Mohit Malik as her dad is okay.

The rest of the cast is major ... make that, MAJOR ... overacting ki dukaan ... not to mention the characterization is totally OTT. Kulfi's mom, when she coughs, looks and sounds like she's going to collapse any minute from hyperventilation. Kulfi's mami makes faces and screeches ... why are all Gul's mamis always so evil? Kulfi's mama is an ineffective wuss, again like all Gul's mamas. Kulfi's dad is an embittered angry young man ... Gul can never stray far from her template of male lead ... though in this show, doesn't look like he will have any FL opposite him. Kulfi's mother is probably going to die soon, leaving Kulfi alone to find her dad. And her flashbacks don't inspire much warmth ... she is a poor actress in both past and present scenes.
Dad's second wife is typical evil woman, rude and insulting to her husband and his mom and brother, who are again ineffective becharas. Daughter from second wife is a spoilt brat and another overacting ki dukaan ... how does Gul manage to make a child overact?! And how does she manage to make her child characters so unlikeable? The two stooges of second wife are more typical OTT Gl templates ... second wife's mom looks as young as her daughter ... haven't yet figured out who the third woman is. The two men wanting Kulfi to sing are more OTT.
Story is apparently a copy of a Bengali show ... but the treatment so far is very OTT and trashy. Let's see how it goes.

Bepanaah ... was looking forward to this one, for Harshad and for Namita Dubey, whom I liked in Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhaniya. Pity her character is already killed within the first week, but she does keep appearing in flashbacks. Story got off to a quick start ... the promos covered within the first week. The show is presented well, looks polished ... more like an SP show than a Colors one, in terms of sets, costumes etc.
Side characters have been introduced ... two sets of families here ... Jen's parents and inlaws,  Harshad's family and mother-in-law ... all characters are being slowly fleshed out and given shape.
HC and Jen so far are fairly unidimensional ... especially Jen, who keeps crying most of the time ... and is so beautifully dressed all the time, including when she is in deep shock at her husband's death ... that her clothes are a major distraction! Hair too ... beautifully styled, not a curl out of place ... looks like she has stepped out from a parlour two minutes ago. Very unreal. Her sister-in-law is much more normally dressed. HC's character is very broody and very very angry bitter young man ... though I have to admit he has good reason ... but his actions are going a bit over the top now. Still the show is watchable for the moment ... if they would tone down Jen's looks and make her more normal looking!

Ishq Subhan Allah ... started watching it as the promo appealed ... looks the most promising of the three. A clash of ideologies ... the leads are both good looking and good actors, as are all the supporting characters ... not OTT as of now ... and the interactions between the leads are very different from usual shows, and are refreshing to watch ... they actually talk and interact like normal people. Costumes are again very rich ... but I guess as occasion was an engagement, believable. The female lead wears beautiful outfits like Jen ... unlike Jen, she looks real and not as though she has just stepped out of a parlour.
