Review of Week 11 :
Saturday -
Face off between Neha and Roopal - Pretty much what I felt in the sneak peek. Roopal is lively but has no grace. Neha was good, she is trained in classical dance, but her coordination with her choreographer is off. Also she is not great with the non-Indian stuff, i feel ... her lifts etc. were clumsy. Judges voted in favour of Neha, which was fair enough ... both were average in the face off. No scores given for this round - weird.
Faisal - An okay-ish performance from Faisal, the choreography overpowered the dance, and limited it too. So while it was visually very pleasing, with some cute moments, the wow factor was missing. He still got 37, which I felt was over-scoring.
Shamita - ode to Maa Durga ... the music was outstanding, but her act was disappointing. No grace at all in the latter half of the dance. 36.
Anita - very pleasant, very beautiful performance, very well choreographed. Saga of the love between a deaf girl and a mute guy ... his collapse in the end, and her tears were moving. Anita's movements were not all clear, they fumbled in a couple of places. 39 - a tad overscored.
Sunday - saw it late, hence the late review
Neha - her main act was good, I loved it. I am anyway partial to classical Indian dance, and she was very good, her postures, her hand movements, her gestures were very clean and clearcut. She lost out again because her choreographer was unable to keep up, and because her expressions were very poor. There was no devotion, no peace in her face, she looked very tight and grim all through. But I still liked her dance. The contrast between her and Shamita was huge. 35 - okay score. If she was 36 and Shamita 35, that would have been more appropriate.
Sanaya - very, very powerful act ... domestic abuse is ugly, so is divorce ... and they showcased the ugly side. A woman always tries, always gives in, till she finally breaks apart ... I think Sanaya had Daljeet's story in her mind as she did this, she was visibly affected at the end. Very powerful, very moving, very disturbing. The anguish and pain in the broken girl at the end was wrenching.
Didn't agree with Ganesh's remarks that there should be confusion and hope ... in a marriage with abuse, there is no hope. Didn't agree that the emotions were forced ... they felt very real to me. I felt the dance element could have been increased, some of the lifts were too violent, that added to the disturbing factor of the act. Also they moved a shade abruptly between the dance and the narrative.
Again I felt Sanaya was underscored ... 36 was okay, but compared to Shamita, she was much better. And her act was more powerful than Anita's ... that was pleasant and beautiful ... this was the ugly side .. and more taxing to perform.
Mohit - aerial act ... he had a tough act to follow after Sanaya's breath-taking one. They were clumsy and poorly coordinated ... Some lifts were good, most were okay-ish only. Average performance. 36. Again overscored if compared to Sanaya ... she was much better and got much better comments than both Shamita and Mohit.
Relay - I liked all the acts - loved Mohit, mainly because I love the song. Loved Sanaya, even though I don't love the song! Faisal was cute, but nothing new. Shamita had a couple of good lifts, rest was same old BW style. Anita fumbled because of her long skirt. Neha was unremarkable.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded: Shahid Kapoor and Ganesh Hegde fight over Gabbar Singh while Sanaya Irani kicks up a storm!

We were the first one to tell you that wild card contestant Roopal Tyagi will be eliminated from this week’s episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded. Neha Marda and she turn out to be in the bottom two. The face off bails out Neha while Roopal is asked to leave. Well, if you think that’s what will happen on the show this weekend, you are wrong. There will be scintillating dance performances, some masti and dher sara maza. We have exclusive details of what this weekend of Jhalak…has in store for you.
The episode will begin with Neha and Roopal’s dance off after they are pronounced unsafe. Neha will move to Hey Ganaraya while Roopal will flaunt her steps on Dum maaro dum. But unfortunately for the latter, the judges will give their judgement in favour of Neha. Roopal’s exit will spread a pall of gloom which will be invaded by some eclectic performances. This week the contestants will perform twice. The theme this time is filmy masala. In the first round, Sanaya’s act on Aur ho will blow your mind while Mohit’s Kurbaan hua will floor you. Anita Hasnandani moves like a dream onZindagi kuch to bata, Faisal on Dhadak dhadak while Shamita keeps it mythological this time.
The second round or Jhalak Replay will see the contestants grooving to lilting music. Mohit takes to stage with Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si, Faisal dances on Dil to bachcha hai ji, Sanaya moves toPremika ne pyaar se, while Neha chooses a perfect song for viewers to groove on Love me thoda aur! Shamita Shetty and Anita gets groovy with Aa zara kareeb se and Jo bheji thi dua respectively.
If that wasn’t all, you have the judges and the host trying to audition for Sholay Reloaded to great outcome. While Manish manages to bag the Veeru’s role, Lauren gets the role of Dhanno! But selecting Gabbar Singh was tough as neither Shahid nor Ganesh was ready to let the other play it. To know who managed to do the role at last, you will have to check out the episodes this weekend.
