MJHT - Sajan scene continued ... copy of Look At Me/Meri Chashmish ... with the difference that Gunji is ready to give in .. if it weren't for dratted sister again .. this time Gunji suddenly remembers that Nups is to be kept away from jiju ... doing a complete role reversal of the baby track ... and showing up again how stupid the whole boys vs girls thing was ... this time with Gunji enacting brainless Nups and Nups trying (but failing) to be sweet innocent Gunji ... becos if she had any brains, she would have told Gunji that all was ok between her and jiju, thereby lessening reasons for Gunji to fight with Sam. But even when trying to make Nups sweet, cv's can't give her brains ... not happening!
Randon crap again about Popat disappearing ... couldn't watch - too boring and stupid. One scene which caught my attention ... Nups finally lets out that she and M are lovebirds again, much to the annoyance of both SG who realise that G has been fighting with Sam for no good reason at all. So thankfully, that's the end of that - and hopefully, it's because CV's have heard our major annoyance about Gunji doing a Nups ... plus of course, the plummetting trp's.
Popat reappears - apparently he was just unconscious ... more random crap and track winds up with his giving the lottery money to charity ... and precap is Sajan track ... have cv's seen the writing on the wall? Is MJHT ending and so they have to wind up Sajan? Or have they realised that without Sajan story, MJHT will end? Precap and voiceover definitely indicates that Sajan should be back ... and from the last 2-3 episodes, MINUS the comedy.
part 1
part 4 only worth watching to see Gunji and Sam annoyed with MN for hiding their LOWE story and letting SG carry on fighting. So now Gunji has lost that excuse to fight with Sam too ... SG track clear?

More mindless - glimmer of hope for Sajan
28 Oct
MJHT - more of the same mindless crap in the name of entertainment - I thought RP would be good as the Bai, cos she's eminently suited for such nautanki type scenes, but surprisingly, she was NOT ... she was OTT here too! And most of the episode was brainless, including the GuNur scene - they're doing the exact opposite of the baby track, making Gunji the idiotic fighter and Nups the reluctant one, problem is, the role reversal doesn't suit either, and Gunji fans are far more vocal about their disapproval. RP fans lapped her up even in that idiocy, we can't accept Gunji!
Rohan giving serious competition to Uday in terms of idiocy and brainlessness.
And last scene ... FINALLY Sajan ... and FNALLY the message seems to be getting across to the cv's ... so we see a more serious Sam, and an attempt at a Look At Me ... is Sam finally going to get aggressive? Again, the only scene worth watching ... just hope it continues in the same vein tomorrow and doesn't go back into that dreaded word ... comedy!

Mindless entertainment
27 Oct
MJHT becoming totally mindless ... might as well give up on expecting any semblance of the Samrat Gunjan of S2 back as it seems the CV's have decided to forget about that experiment completely. They've forgotten a lot about the S1 SG as well ... wonder if those at least will come back.
So first scene with gang, where Sam tells all Uday's story ... and Gunji gets a bit flustered about the SG love story ... and then recovers. Does she ... or the cv's ... even remember why she is supposed to be so angry with Samrat in the first place? Or is she just fighting because she thinks her precious Di is fighting too. Solidarity!!!
Anyway, gang agree to the charade. and the scene was quite cute, with Sam's story-telling and Uday's expressions - also Gunji's and Mayank's reactions and Rohan's support ... Rohan is shaping up well as support. And Uday is FAR better at comedy than Nups ... the scene was funny without being OTT.
Makeover - cute, though dragged.
First gang with Rathore scene ... cute, a bit silly ... even the SG bit which was too OTT and contrived for my liking. Redeemed a bit by Gunji relapsing into normal Gunji every now and then from sugary sweet 'swami' types ... is Rathore really so brainless as to not suspect anything? Appears so.
Kitchen scene - ahh, much more like the SG I know. Sam flirting, Gunji gettiing flustered, but holding her own, dabbing the atta on him and darting away with the slightest of smiles ... then yanking him back when he shouts, hand over his mouth, and the eyelock ... and THANK GOD, screaming nups-clone gone, and it's the real Gunji back ... as she backs away with the slightest hint of a smile in her eyes, gives him the cloth to wipe his face, then as he doesn't finish the job, she points it out a little hesitantly ... Sam of course maroes chance pe dance and she does wipe it for him, as they stare at each other all the while ... another dab by Sam is too much, though, and she just pats him away ... and the smile is back in her eyes, as she shakes her head slightly ... this man will never change!
Last scene - MN, Nups as bai - suits her. She shoud play these kind of roles only, her dialogue delivery and OTT nautanki is eminently suited for them.
And I realised why the episode was good ... hardly any Nups ... confined to one skippable MN scene only. What's the betting that bewada and bai scene will be OTT fultoo nautanki?!!!

Browzing :)
26th Oct
MJHT - watched an episode after over a week ... and realised that my enjoyment of MJHT is inversely related to the quantity of Nupur BS we get in the episode ... which in turn is inversely related to 1) the quality of comedy and acting and 2) the brainlessness of Gunjan.
So only one Nupur scene - the first one, which was as insane and OTT as ever ... Nups should now do a role as a vamp, she looks positively evil in most scenes! Then Inspector Rathore and the guys ... and Gunji eavesdropping ... stupid, brainless, senseless ... I switched off brain cells so as not to strain them and ... I actually laughed. Govinda style comedy ... fortunately, Sanaya's voice is still bad, so she didn't talk at all, just listened ... and the way she's going these days, that was a relief.
Then she storms in when Uday proclaims her to be Samrat's wife ... and is equally promptly hustled out by M and R while Sam and Uday make up more lies for the inspector, who apparently as soon as he entered Excel was struck by the same malady that afflicts everyone else there - brainlessness.
In the meantime, Gunji finally reverts to something resembling her true self (that does happen when Nups isn't here, she only loses her brain when Nups is around) and demands the truth from MR and gets to know that not only Sam, even jiju and bhaiyya were lying ... esp. Uday bhaiyya.
Then the scene I enjoyed thoroughly ... Sam telling MRG about the stories that Uday has fed the inspector ... Mayank/Ganpat and his better half Nupur/Kashibai ... plz, oh plz can we get a scene of Ganpat beating up Kashibai? Am sure AB would love to do it!
and last but not least, Sam ends with what Uday said about SG ... that the truth just came out that they were madly in love ... and one magical eyelock ...
So are they finally starting an SG track? Bceause it looks like Gunji is gonna agree ... and that might set up a situation where they have to act married and madly in love ... something like It Happened in Vegas?
Wait and watch. Shit, why do they do this?! Just as I disconnect from the show, they give us a glimpse of SG. And some hope.
SGP: Radha Bua is back home, Suhana complains to her about Sonali ... feel good episode, okayish.
Saw part of PKYK ... the guy, Abhay needs to improve. Or he needs better direction - looking through his eyebrows does not translate into looking mysterious and dangerous ... Suku is ok, the other girls are very average. Surprising for a Balaji show, the whole feel is pretty amateurish.
Also saw part of DMG - BB match brought back memories, but am sooo bored with Armaan Riddhima and their love story now! Esp Riddhima's never-ending confusion ... now she's worrying about being a divorcee??? And she a doc getting ready to go to Harvard??? Sheesh, what world does she live in?!

Musings
Friday's SGP - sweet! Liked the RB-Deepak scene - and I liked Ragini's acting for once - trying to be unaffected by Ishaan's old girl friend ... the smile wide on her lips and yet not reaching her eyes ;)
MJHT - I actually can't sit through the episodes these days! The first SG scene - totally random, totally out of character, totally brainless - so Gunji will fight with Samrat because Di is supposedly fighting with jiju, and that means all girls should fight with all the boys ... HOW much more brainless can they make this show?! And if they HAD to try to copy Hum Tum, why start at the fighting part, why not start at the bereavement part, which would have been at least slightly relevant?! The mithai khilaoing bit was better ... but they need to get Sajan back pronto in their original avatars otherwise the show has no chance. CM dropping like a stone week on week, and I can well believe TRP's are following suit - when there is no story, what is there to discuss? Every show needs a story, not just popular actors! And definitely Sajan was the main story ... by sidelining Sajan so badly, cv's have just torpedoed their own show. Maybe that was their intention with teh RP problems - or maybe RP and GH really believed all those noises that RP single-handedly is enough to run the show! Seems that they have discovered their mistake - now they're running to get the rest of the original cast back - like that's going to work! Just get those writers back ... and SAJAN!
SBS today - MJHT got a 6 month extension - but on the other hand i saw the ad of yet another show coming on Star One so I just hope that extension news is false. As it is, SBS has a reputation for being wrong. Hope that continues.
DMG - happened to have the TV on at episode time and am amazed at how much I have gone off this show! Ridz going to Harvard medical college??? ROFL ... has she done any medicine in the recent past, did she even have time from all her crying? As for KSG, i got hooked to the show for his acting, and now he seems so false and so plastic! The same expressions all the time ... have been watching them for 3 years now, and they are BORING!!! Thank god its finishing! And Jenni is sooooo bad - oops, she just started crying again! And can't believe they're dragging it soooo much! End it NOW!!!!
Naveen's links ... good to have her back!

Cute!
18th Oct
So Badi maa is worried that history will repeat itself and Suhana might feel the same way that Ishwar did. Nice scene with Badi maa and Dadaji, though a bit dragged.
And Suhana is worried that Ishaan might walk out on her ... now THIS is comedy ... cute, situational and genuinely funny! Ishaan worried about his shirt, Suhana worried about her 'future'!

Watched the episode in about 2 min of complete fast forward. What I dislike - no, make that, hate - Gunjan becoming Nups 2 ... though I must say, she still carries is better than RP - Nupur is obnoxious, Gunji is merely very annoying.
Don't know if I'm desperately looking for silver linings here but two things I was happy with in an otherwise crappy episode - one, that Gunji rescued Nups from her speech fiasco, so Gunji is still shown to be the brighter one and Nups the complete dumbo, and two, the Gunur scene, when Nups is admiring her picture, Gunji tells her, you'd better do some work instead! Apart from that, blechh!!
As for Nups coming back to bring SG together - she seems to be doing everything in her power to keep them apart! If she was really interested in getting them together, she would have pushed Gunji towards Samrat when he pretended to faint ... instead, because of her own ego issues, she made sure Gunji didn't go to Sam. Nice sister, I must say! Urrrggghhh ... Nups is becoming more and more obnoxious every day! Can't wait for her to leave the show!
which brings me to my musings ...
During the career track, RP had vanished, and I remember thinking that the PH was unhappy with her for giving out the ending to not one, not two, but three tracks ... and so they had torpedoed the MN career track and banished her for a while from the sets till the SG track was properly sorted out. And when RP left, or was booted out, my feelings seemed vindicated - there were definitely problems. And that was why the whole S2 happened - because they wanted to get rid of Rati.
Dunno why, but I'm getting the same feeling again. Although Nupur is very much in show - too much so :( ... but she is conspicuously absent with her co-stars in all their interviews - if interviewed, it is alone, never with AB or Monaya, even when they are all shooting together. And her character has shown no improvement, in fact, it has become even worse. The fact that it has dragged the rest of the show down to her depths is another matter :(
A similar thing had happened in DMG - crass comedy happened when we were expecting a serious track, and it was followed by Sukirti's exit. Again, when KSG and Jenni were having problems because of his two/three-timing, apparently they showed only AR fights in the show, no romantic moments, because Jenni didn't want to do them. And again, no MN romance is being shown at all these days ... forget onscreen, offscreen they don't even appear in the same frame together! While Monaya, although fighting bitterly onscreen, are still glued to each other in all offscreen segments.
So ... don't know if I'm hoping for too much ... but it does seem to me that RP is having problems with her costars ... and presumably with the PH, which is the reason for this crappy track ... hopefully that might mean that she walks out again ... or is booted out ... balle balle!!! So have to just keep some patience and see if that happens!
And if the reverse happens, and Monaya are the ones to leave, then I will be even happier. All the Star One actors have got decent shows after leaving their shows, and Sanaya has already been noticed - ZND and MC are proof of that ... so i think she would get something quite easily ... just hope she and Mohit don't make working together a condition, because they should work with different actors to improve their own experience, especially Mohit, and they should do different shows. MJHT has lost it - there is nothing left now except the SG shaadi ... at least for the older fans. And for the newer fans, it would be better to get new actors to play college students indulging in all this nonsense, rather than show professors doing it!

15th Oct
Badi maa confides her story to Suhana. In the precap, she tells Dada Dadi ... I'm scared. Of Suhana.
Because she makes her open up too much?
Badi maa is the most beautiful character in SGP and Supriya P is playing her beautifully. Enjoying the show!

Sanaya ROCKS again!
13 Oct episode
It was a good idea to stop expecting things in MJHT in terms of the storyline. Because I found I enjoyed the last two days much more when keeping an open mind, rather than when I was wanting and waiting for certain specific things to happen.
And this episode was the best in a long time - because I saw again the Gunjan whom I had first fallen in love with. That Gunjan who was unbearably hurt about Sam's deceit in the bet, and broke off their friendship in a way that showed that deep hurt, but without the shouting and screaming that normally accompanies such scenes. In fact, it was that quiet dignity and grace that had won my heart, that and the depth of emotion which wwere all the more powerful for being unexpressed - when Gunjan said - when were we ever friends, Samrat? those words must have cut through Samrat as sharply as a thousand swords.
And yesterday's confrontation was similar - Gunjan's deep hurt, her unbearable sense of loss, of being let down yet again by the man she loves with all her heart - that came through in those few words - main itni bhi buri bhi nahin hun, Samrat. Tum mujhe itna toh jaante ho na?
I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's not just the words, it's the emotion that Sanaya gets into them that makes them so powerful, the subtle, understated emotion echoed by the look in her eyes - hurt, very deeply hurt - not even angry, because she's beyond anger - it's a sense of betrayal, loss, deceit ... not a single tear escapes her eyes, but she's crying deep inside.
The MN scene just before had similar emotions from Nups, but the shrieking shack was back, and the emotion was completely lost. Anyway, am very glad MN are back to being the comic couple, and SG the emotional one.
In contrast, in the SG scene it was even more powerful because Gunjan went there with the full intention of listening, her expression changed to joy because she thought, yes, he's going to tell her the truth himself ... and then the change, when he lied YET again ... she first just asks - when did you last attend an MBA class, Samrat - he digs his grave deeper by saying - yesterday ... and she breaks. Yes, she gets angry with him, but it's she who is broken, her trust, her faith, she was reaching out to him in the way she knew best, then she acknowledged her mistake and came to try to rectify it ... only to find that he was deceiving her all along.
And her "bas karo, Samrat" shows that. It wasn't shouted, it wasn't even in a loud voice, it was in an almost whisper, a completely defeated tone - just stop, because I can't take it any more, you've been lying to me for days and days, it wasn't on the spur of the moment, it's been thought about, planned ... and you're still lying ...
When Samrat did the SSC role, he unmasked himself before it went too far or for too long. And that was why Gunjan never found it difficult to forgive him for that - he did it for a purpose, to get her back to college, purpose achieved, he unmasked. And she knew why he had done it, she was angry yes, but not deceived. She knew and he knew that she would never have come back to college if she had known Samrat was there - and by unmasking himself, he gave her the option of leaving again. Which she didn't take, because after that, all his moves were out in the open - no deceit. So this one has broken her heart.
I loved the last scene for one big reason - the communication channels have slowly started opening, the gloves are off, the 'friendship' is pushed to the back burner, because Samrat says it straight out - what can I do to make things all right, because I love this girl very much. And that stopped Gunjan in her tracks.
Wonder what she was going to say when she stopped - apni mangetar? apni girlfriend?
She advises him to tell the truth. And to 'nibhao his vaada'? And asks him to leave - oh so politely and coldly.
And when he goes, equally quietly, she stares after him in despair ... she hates this situation as much as he does, she hates his lies as much as she loves him.
And SO - and this is getting my hopes up, so I need to dampen them again ;) - SG seem to be back to the S2 SG that we loved - not only that, they are the stage they were after the Look At Me scene - yes, they love each other, and they both know it, but those distances are so much there. Even though Nups is back. And this is exactly what we wanted - that they not make up just because Nups is back. But we still want an accounting for Sam's pain during those three years.
Precap seems to be of the next track rather than of a scene - girls are mad, guys have to win them back. M is totally at fault, so he has a tough one, but for Samrat, will this finally bring into the open his feelings about those lost three years? Will Gunjan finally ask WHY he felt the need to lie at all?
Or have the CV's forgotten about those missing three years?
Anyway, Sanaya was the ROCK of this episode. Right from that starting scene with Mayank and Ash, to going to college, becoming hopeful and happy that she will be back with Samrat in the same way, to the heartbreak yet again - masked again with anger ... and in the last scene, her mask back in place, her feelings hidden under a cool facade ... showing only when he leaves. This girl is surely the most expressive and most under-rated actress on Indian tv. And for serious, emotional tracks, there is just no one to match her. The good thing is that Mohit can hold her in these scenes, which is what makes them so effective. He has evolved into a really good actor in these scenes - he just needs to lay off the comedy.

Expectations ... shouldn't keep them!
13th Oct episode
After watching SGP and enjoying it thoroughly, I realised one thing. The reason I enjoy that show is that I have no expectation there - not in terms of quality, dialogue, and especially storylines ... nothing! So I appreciate it if I like it and switch it off if I don't. And because I have no expectations, especially on the storyline, I can try to make sense of what is happening and enjoy it anyway.
I think I need to do the same with MJHT. Stop predicting what will happen, what I want to happen ... after all, for that, I have my writing and my own imagination. Let me just watch what's being shown - if it's nice, I enjoy it, if it's not, I laugh at it and move on.
And with that pov, or maybe because I was in a good mood after a nice episode of SGP, I found I enjoyed MJHT a lot last night. One reason was definitely that the crass comedy is well and truly gone. So the CV's are listening to us and I guess we need to appreciate that. But they're telling a story their way - it's their story, and if it still makes sense to me, I will watch it. Especially because the acting was definitely better last night, and the scenes were decent too. Dialogues still need a lot of work, but ok, two out of three isn't bad!
So first scene - Sam with Ash, Samrat still in thought after Gunjan's phone call, regretting big time that he ever lied to Gunjan. Although 'friend'? Just friend?!
MN scene - Nups very, very upset with Mayank, and this time I don't blame her. Mayank has never trusted her, and for a wife, that would shake the foundation of her marriage to the roots. As she said, he didn't ask her even once, but convicted her straight off. I wouldn't blame her for walking out - and with Nachle ve coming up, that might be the the set up. Scenario here - she didn't cheat (although she had every plan to) she didn't forge, and at the stage they're in, supposedly blissfully happy "perfect" husband wife, this would be a very tough one for her to take. Again exposes the weak foundations of their relationship. I don't think I would forgive my husband for thinking this about me.
GunRo - thank God we have GunRo back! Much nicer than the NupRoAsh scenes where all Nups does is bully and scold! So Ro has come to meet Ash, Gunji puzzled, because Ash is supposed to be with him for dinner, after some hit and miss attempts with Ro being as dumb as Sam, and Gunji getting alternately confused and irritated (but so cutely!), he takes himself off, and Gunji is left wondering - where is Ash? and why did she lie to me? On top of which, she's still worried about Samrat's behaviour.
Mayank calls her to talk about Nupur.
Majan- a good scene today. They both let out their fears, their disappointments, and doubts. Gunji is sure Nupur could not have done what Mayank said she did, and tries to convince Mayank. Gunji says she will talk to Nupur - Nups comes, but for once, she refuses to talk to Gunjan also.
SamAsh - Sam thought Gunji would support him, but she wanted him to do MBA. But dude, did you ever tell her what your dream was? Anyway, ... he doesn't want to lie to her - she's his Chashmish.
Setting up for his planning to tell her the truth?
Before he can go on, and to their shock, Nups arrives.
Majan again - Mayank insisting he's sure Nups did what he accused her of.
And then the crux of the conversation - we should trust the people we love, maybe there's something in their mind which we don't know? Something else completely?
And Gunji thinks of Samrat again. She felt MBA was the best option for him, but she realises she doesn't know what's in his mind at all. And she says - before taking decisions for anyone, we need to find out what they want, what's in their mind ... without doing that, we're forcing out decisions on them and that's wrong.
SaNuAsh - He asks her not to tell anyone about the BB. Nups tells them that M thought she cheated and forged. Ash goes off to confess. Sam tells Nups he wants to make BB his career. Nups says she doesn't want to study any more (make way for Nupurbai!) Well, at least, he has a dream, a goal - what does she plan to do? Ok, I really don't care - I'm losing interest in Nups again!
Majan - M says, maybe Nups never wanted to be a student again, Gunjan says, maybe Samrat has some other talent which he wants to follow.
SaNu- Sam says, everyone can't be a doctor or an MBA, we can have different dreams. Nups says, all i want is to be with you three, but now I feel alienated from you all, I can't even talk to anyone.
Majan - M says, maybe they can't talk openly to us anymore. we need to give them their space.
Gunji - let them do what they want, it's their choice.
Sam - why can't bb be a career?
Majan go back to the question of cheating - just as Ash comes and confesses. Gunji, in CID role again, asks why she needed to go off early ... and Ash confesses about the BB, ... and that Sam is their coach.
Gunji shocked ... things falling into place? So that's what he has been hiding from her?
And on the other end, Sam is getting ready to tell her, because he can't lie to her any more ...
My thoughts - first MN - good thing, they had their rustication conversation in private, not the usual public slanging match it usually is. So she can go back to college without much loss of face. But bad part, the personal relationship has been shaken to the core. So she might actually leave for a while and that might pave the way for less Nups in the next track ... good thing again! ;)
SG - will he confess first? Putting himself in a morally defensible position? He seems to be going that way in the precap. Gunji has definitely realised her mistake, so the doorway to communication is opening slowly and steadily. Somehow, from the precap, I don't think the confrontation will be bitter this time, because there is fault on both sides - both were, as usual, thinking about the other, and both have realised where they went wrong, so hopefully, this might lead to one of their heart to heart talks, and pave the way to their reunion.
And the purpose of the track has been served - to point out that there are other careers available these days ... maybe not for Nups, unless they bring that up later, but definitely in sports - and you need family support to go in for these more dicey career choices. It's better not to drag the track and end it on a high note, maybe with a BB match at the end, and Gunji actually supporting Samrat all the way.
Also, these cv's are definitely not capable of, or just don't want, to bring too much intensity into their tracks - and this being a college show, with a very fickle, immature audience for the most part, they might feel justified in thinking so, and in wanting to return to that 'feel-good' light-hearted show it started off as. Especially if the SG reunion gets them good trp's, which I really hope it does.

Rising from a trough?
12th Oct episode
The SG comedy made MJHT hit rock bottom, so hope there is only one way they can take it - upwards! And if that improves the trp's, that should show firmly who drives the trp's once and for all - and it's not the psycho fans!
Episode was MN dominated - with Nups getting all excited about topping and wanting to thank M, Ash's letter with M's forged signature, which he assumed immediately that N had forged, so after a staff meeting, he decides to rusticate N, thinking he's forcing her into studying when she doesn't want to. MN story in nutshell.
SG parts - Gunji meets Rohan asks about Ash's whereabouts, with a confused Rohan, Gunji talking about Ash and maid ... :D
Since Rohan has no clue, Gunji calls Sam to ask his help in searching for Ash, but Ash is sitting in Sam's house - he doesn't have far to look! He dodges the issue of Gunji coming over and frantically pushes Ash out to go meet her before CID Gunjan lands up at his place. Some comedy here again :( but toned down quite a lot - Sam is not making as many faces as he was earlier.
Oh what a web of lies we weave, when first we practise to deceive!
So Ash rushes to college to reassure Gunji she hasn't been swallowed by a whale, neither has she gone into depression because of one missed test!
Last scene - CV's are really leaving us hanging for SG scenes ... we get them like gold nuggets - very very sparingly! Ash is out for dinner with Rohan, so Gunji calls Sam ... and finally we have a good SG scene ... she tells him she's cooking dinner, asks what he would like, kheer or halwa, he replies ... whatever you like, you're making it, that's enough for me.
She asks a little hesitatingly, where are you?
And now Samrat is fumbling, he doesn't want to lie any more ... class, MBA class.
Beofre she can ask any more, he says, I'll call you later.
She persists, when will class be over? He doesn't reply, just repeats - I'll call you later. And hangs up with a very serious expression on his face. Serious S2 Sam back ... feel like dancing a jig here! Just a few seconds scene and they can create the impact!
And Gunjan is wondering what is happening here? Why is he behaving so strangely?
Will she go across to class and find he's not there? Or will he not land up for dinner? Or will he land up and behave strangely again? Something will happen to make her think she has to back off ... something which hurts her. Because in the precap, she is hurt and upset. Not angry.

Roller coaster
8th Oct episode
MJHT is becoming like a roller coaster - sometimes up, sometimes down. Yesterday was very firmly down, today slight upward movement.
GunUr - Nupur tells Gunjan that Ash walked out halfway through her test. Gunji worried, Ash joins them, Gunji questions her and Ash makes some excure. Gun notices letter, Ash lies that it's an application form. Gunji then notices Sam's pen in Ash's hand and asks about that - Gunji is becoming some CID inspector these days! Before Ash can answer, Gunji calls Sam and teases him a little that he's sharing something with Ash which he hasn't shared with her. Sam gets worried, but before he can give himself away, Ash snatches the phone and covers up. Sam relieved.
MNRA - Nups goes to M in staffroom, M is curt with her as he's found her chits and thinks she cheated. Gunji arrives, Nups leaves and M asks Gunji if they did the right thing in persuading Nups to come back to college. Gunji thinks they did, but she's wondering more about Samrat and his changed behaviour.
Menawhile in Samrat house, he's got all this BB girls to solve his papers for him. Ash calls a couple of times to ask where the meeting is, bad connection. Third time Sam answers the phone and says that the meeting is in his house. But it's Gunjan, and she wonders where he is, especially as she hears the girls in the background. Sam covers YET again with a lie ... Gunji is happy that he seems to be so focussed. But Samrat is finally worrying about how many lies he's telling her.

Unwatchable!
7th Oct
I watched the episode on youtube in five minutes flat, and have not the slightest desire to sit through it on tv without a fast forward option. Some few minutes of Samrat playing BB with the girls, then a long yawn on Mayank supporting Nups to study - ffwd - then a small SG scene where she brings him kadha to drink, and finds his notes in the dustbin, asks his servant, who denies putting them there, Samrat comes back from BB and lies through his teeth - AGAIN - and drinks her kadha and says 'yummy' in the fakest tone possible.
Like many people couldn't take Gunjan through her "I hate Samrat" phase, I am finding it very difficult to sit through the Samrat ignoring Gunjan phase! I find it much easier to make excuses for Gunjan's behaviour, to understand her motives for acting the way she does, because they are always more believable - or maybe Sanaya just makes them so, because she can project the inner conflict so beautifully. Or I just like her far better! And Samrat's comedy, although it is getting toned down, is still very forced. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be, and sooner or later Gunjan will start smelling a rat - that is, if she hasn't already.
Nups, RoAsh taking exam - one big yawn - do I really want to see people taking exams and deciding if they want to cheat or not?! Always said it was a stupid idea to show onscreen - unless you're completely in love with the actors, it's the most boring stuff imaginable, and MN made it even more so.
Ash walks out - and goes to Samrat's house. And a scene which I can't quite figure where it's going to lead - more complications for sure. Ash tells Samrat she bunked the exam for BB, he first disapproves, tells her she needs to complete her studies as well, then she says, for you, bb is enough, I'm not interested in studies either. So he says, you can attend bb practise if you have a slip from a teacher - not me, not Gunjan, of course, not Shukla sir, so that leaves - Mayank.
One comment - MN are seriously unwatchable! No wonder the cv's kept them comic all along - they were at least entertaining. Now they're just one big bore. Just hope the SG track takes over soon, otherwise MJHT is becoming unwatchable. And if Monaya are putting up with this crap only because they love being together, then we have no hope for the show. Will switch to SGP - at least it's watchable, and Radha bua and her son's story is getting me hooked. Even Suhana is improving.
MONAYA ... made up for Sajan!

Cautious ... very cautious
6th Oct episode
Slightly better, but it's the Sajan scenes which are disappointing ... the rest of the scenes were actually decent. Because Samrat is backing away from Gunjan all right, Gunjan is reaching out to Samrat all right, but the way Samrat is backing away is not as though she's the love of his life, but as though she's a pesky gf he's running away from. So that part is disappointing. Especially in the BB court when she calls and he makes a face at her call, and says, 'koi aur aaye ya na aaye, chashmish ka phone zaroor aayega'.
So the SG scenes were not very satisfying to me from Samrat's end ... started feeling bad for Gunjan, because she is trying so hard and he is lying through his teeth ...
And the way he's so forceful and focussed with Ash about playing BB and lying to Gunjan ... just by saying that he wishes he could tell her the truth, is not enough ... so yes, there is going to be a big meltdown, but the way it's going, Gunjan might not blast him, she will just be truly and very deeply hurt ... and that's going to be more heartbreaking ... because when Gunji gets hurt, we cry ...
Dostaana track with MR starting ... amusing!
Gunji has well and truly shaken off Nups - doesnt even have time to talk to her, and when she does, all her talk is about Samrat.
Samrat is still spoilt brat - mom got him back to college as coach now. How will he ever grow up if mommy keeps buying him all the toys he ever wants?

Blech comedy
5th Oct episode
Nothing much to write - the comedy put me off totally. Gunjan is reaching out to Samrat desperately, her guilt, her regret is in full swing, but Samrat's antics and the comedy which Mohit just CANNOT do ... are putting the track into serious jeopardy. Gunjan goes overboard in setting up Samrat's study time table, buying him books, setting up classes ... she's dealing with Sam of three years ago, not the Samrat of today. And teh Sam of today is completely thrown - he doesn't know how to handle this new aggressive gunjan, so he backs off into lies immediately - he just doesn't know her any more.
Distance will grow before it starts decreasing, I think. Just hope they get over the comedy soon.
More surprises from Gunjan

Something missing
4 Oct episode
Somehow the episode left me dissatisfied ... till I read a post on IF 'Something missing' and realised what it was. It's the fact that the SG relationship is being shown in a very superficial way - like any of the dozens of other couples on TV who don't share their thoughts and keep their innermost secrets from each other. And SG are suddenly being shown to be doing the same thing - and it just doesn't gel. That Gunjan doesn't know what Sam is actually thinking, that Sam doesn't know how to tell Gunjan what he really wants ... their communication, their strongest bond, has gone for a toss, and with that, the essence of SG is floundering.
Two things - one that the HUGE difference between SG of S1 and S2 is that their communication, which was their biggest strength, has gone for a toss. It keeps coming back off and on ... it even came back during their dinner date, but ever since the whole Nupur drama resolved, it has been missing and SG have not yet resolved where they are with each other.
Then the big change in Gunjan ... it was cloaked by her bitterness and her grief, but now that Nupur is back, the fact that she HAS changed over three years in terms of moving on, her confidence, that part is coming to the forefront ...
Taking into mind both these things, the SG track is actually moving pretty logically ... She has developed confidence, she knows where she is in life, and she can now express her feelings and opinions pretty strongly which she never did before ... also like Sona said, she did always plan Sam's day for him, during exams, then during the movie track, she planned her own day so that she could spend time with him ... she has been like that all through, she always had this strong practical side to her ...
as for Samrat - Samrat wants her back in his life ... she hasn't said anything yet ... tho' the way she's behaving now shouldn't leave much doubt ... but they always TALKED earlier, and they still haven't ... so for the moment he chooses the easy way out of going along with her, because he doesn't want to fight with her, or risk what they have right now ... it's been a long time getting back to this stage ...
so both of them are not able to talk directly about where they are with each other, they're skirting around that main issue ... which is why this whole problem is arising.
My ONLY gripe is that the CV's need to get SG back to their usual serious mature selves ... that is the essence of SG ... and this is a serious track in itself ... I hope the light heartness and the comic Sam don't stay for too long ... and the last scene yesterday about his coaching a girls' BB team hopefully means that the seriousness and intensity of SG shd be back soon. And that they start talking and the essence of SG , their communication - should be restored.
The part that I loved and which really got me laughing ... Gunjan's expression when Nups announces her intention of shadowing her ... Gunji doesn't want!!! So much of sister! The days of worshipping Di are well and truly over!

3 Idiots? or Rock On?
1st Oct episode
Interesting SAjan track starting ... Gunjan tries to get Samrat to think about career - she's worried about how he can live without a job. After abortive attempts at becoming scientist and chef, Sam finally dreams about ... basketball. He's found his dream - but before he can tell Gunjan, she gets a call from an old student who's just started his MBA, after abandoning an impossible dream of becoming a painter of hoardings! And has got a job to boot. Gunjan very happy - talks to Sam blissfully about being practical, distinguishing between hobbies and practical life, and finally decides he should also ... do an MBA :) She then proceeds to list all the qualities he has to do that, while Sam is busy banging himself on the head with his basketball ... probably seeing his dreams just going up in smoke. Because Gunji has undergone role reversal here as well - instead of Guru Samrat, we have Guru Gunjan ... and Sam can't withstand her advice any more than she could ever withstand his, apparently! So he bids a fond tearful farewell to his basketball and follows her meekly out.
Must say, these Mumbai guys have this tendency to turn into joru ka ghulams very quickly ... and SG aren't even married yet! :D Though that was a very much married scene we saw, with Gunji making coffee, handing Sam his watch ... also, what happened about Gunji telling Sam just a couple of episodes ago that he should do what makes him happy? Both seem to have forgotten that one!
Or maybe not ... they reach college, and Sam sees the bb team playing, and him among them. And the BB Sam asks him why he isn't with them.
So is Sam going to follow his dream? After some tension and conflict like 3 Idiots? Or is he going to abandon it and be unhappy ... only to pick it up later - like Rock On?
Seems interesting ... just hope they deal with it well. 3 Idiots was dealt with delightfully, alternating between light and serious moments, don't think the MJHT team can go anywhere near that standard, but it shouldn't be treated as a joke. Neither this SG track, not the Nups going back to college one - though I have less hopes for that one, the way it's going. Because Nups has not grown at all in 3 years ... Sam had for some time at least, although he seems to keep regressing. So fingers crossed for SG.

Recovery?
30th Sept
After the hideous buffoonery of the Wednesday episode, there was surprising recovery on the Sajan front. On the whole, cute episode, though I feel bad for Nupur/RP fans - Nupur had a tough time being ragged! Really wonder if the CV's are getting their backs on her and the fans for the hell they put them through for two months of Mission RP, not to mention trying to sabotage the show as much as they could.
Anyway, so Nups enters college all nervous, after being told by Mayank to take a cab, as she can't be seen with him.
In the meantime, Gunjan is trying to call Sam and is getting progressively more agitated when he doesn't answer.
Nupur enters, and Gunjan is there to accompany her in as she realised her sis would be nervous. And here's the role reversal that I loved - Gunjan smiling, confident, supporting her sis, being greeted by the students as Ma'am, and reassuring Nups all the way. But then she has to leave - to wake up Samrat! That was cute - Nups asking, where are you going? Gunjan - Samratji ko jagaane! No beating around the bush, no blushing, whatever stage of their relationship they're in, the friendship is very much back, as is the closeness, and an unconscious possessiveness, an 'apnapan', that she has all the right to do this. It's only that last stage that remains to be covered, to be re-defined.
Nups gets called Aunty, and ragged, and ragged again, by RoAsh, taking badla for the bossing around she did earlier? Or just because she has become pretty obnoxious ... the way she spoke to them even now was rude, to say the least. One track might be that her natural loudness and sharp tongue gets curbed because of being a student again, and a new one at that. Or more likely, RoAsh will just apologize - nothing much further.
Gunji reaches Sam's house, he doesn't answer the doorbell, is sleepy and nonsensical on the phone. Kumbhkaran ki aulad!!!
So Gunji decides to get to his room - but how?
Simple - follow Samrat's route. Get a ladder.
So she does exactly that. And one of the cutest scenes of MJHT where Gunji, looking gorgeous, if rather ruffled, in soft grey, climbs a ladder to sleeping Sam's bedroom, praying nervously all the while, telling herself there's nothing to be worried about.
She enters Sam's room - he's fast asleep. She glares and then tries calling gently. No response. Louder. Still none.
So she leans on the bed to wake him, he turns and rolls over on to her arm, capturing her there close to him. and she stops and stares at him. I need a dream emoticon here :)
And next time she calls his name, her voice is much softer ... first he thinks she's a dream, and he tells her she looks even more beautiful in his dream. Sigh. No wonder Gunji is melting slowly.
But when he realises she isn't a dream - he shouts and jumps up ROFL - modesty outraged??!!!
