8th Oct episode
MJHT is becoming like a roller coaster - sometimes up, sometimes down. Yesterday was very firmly down, today slight upward movement.
GunUr - Nupur tells Gunjan that Ash walked out halfway through her test. Gunji worried, Ash joins them, Gunji questions her and Ash makes some excure. Gun notices letter, Ash lies that it's an application form. Gunji then notices Sam's pen in Ash's hand and asks about that - Gunji is becoming some CID inspector these days! Before Ash can answer, Gunji calls Sam and teases him a little that he's sharing something with Ash which he hasn't shared with her. Sam gets worried, but before he can give himself away, Ash snatches the phone and covers up. Sam relieved.
MNRA - Nups goes to M in staffroom, M is curt with her as he's found her chits and thinks she cheated. Gunji arrives, Nups leaves and M asks Gunji if they did the right thing in persuading Nups to come back to college. Gunji thinks they did, but she's wondering more about Samrat and his changed behaviour.
Menawhile in Samrat house, he's got all this BB girls to solve his papers for him. Ash calls a couple of times to ask where the meeting is, bad connection. Third time Sam answers the phone and says that the meeting is in his house. But it's Gunjan, and she wonders where he is, especially as she hears the girls in the background. Sam covers YET again with a lie ... Gunji is happy that he seems to be so focussed. But Samrat is finally worrying about how many lies he's telling her.

Unwatchable!
7th Oct
I watched the episode on youtube in five minutes flat, and have not the slightest desire to sit through it on tv without a fast forward option. Some few minutes of Samrat playing BB with the girls, then a long yawn on Mayank supporting Nups to study - ffwd - then a small SG scene where she brings him kadha to drink, and finds his notes in the dustbin, asks his servant, who denies putting them there, Samrat comes back from BB and lies through his teeth - AGAIN - and drinks her kadha and says 'yummy' in the fakest tone possible.
Like many people couldn't take Gunjan through her "I hate Samrat" phase, I am finding it very difficult to sit through the Samrat ignoring Gunjan phase! I find it much easier to make excuses for Gunjan's behaviour, to understand her motives for acting the way she does, because they are always more believable - or maybe Sanaya just makes them so, because she can project the inner conflict so beautifully. Or I just like her far better! And Samrat's comedy, although it is getting toned down, is still very forced. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be, and sooner or later Gunjan will start smelling a rat - that is, if she hasn't already.
Nups, RoAsh taking exam - one big yawn - do I really want to see people taking exams and deciding if they want to cheat or not?! Always said it was a stupid idea to show onscreen - unless you're completely in love with the actors, it's the most boring stuff imaginable, and MN made it even more so.
Ash walks out - and goes to Samrat's house. And a scene which I can't quite figure where it's going to lead - more complications for sure. Ash tells Samrat she bunked the exam for BB, he first disapproves, tells her she needs to complete her studies as well, then she says, for you, bb is enough, I'm not interested in studies either. So he says, you can attend bb practise if you have a slip from a teacher - not me, not Gunjan, of course, not Shukla sir, so that leaves - Mayank.
One comment - MN are seriously unwatchable! No wonder the cv's kept them comic all along - they were at least entertaining. Now they're just one big bore. Just hope the SG track takes over soon, otherwise MJHT is becoming unwatchable. And if Monaya are putting up with this crap only because they love being together, then we have no hope for the show. Will switch to SGP - at least it's watchable, and Radha bua and her son's story is getting me hooked. Even Suhana is improving.

Cautious ... very cautious
6th Oct episode
Slightly better, but it's the Sajan scenes which are disappointing ... the rest of the scenes were actually decent. Because Samrat is backing away from Gunjan all right, Gunjan is reaching out to Samrat all right, but the way Samrat is backing away is not as though she's the love of his life, but as though she's a pesky gf he's running away from. So that part is disappointing. Especially in the BB court when she calls and he makes a face at her call, and says, 'koi aur aaye ya na aaye, chashmish ka phone zaroor aayega'.
So the SG scenes were not very satisfying to me from Samrat's end ... started feeling bad for Gunjan, because she is trying so hard and he is lying through his teeth ...
And the way he's so forceful and focussed with Ash about playing BB and lying to Gunjan ... just by saying that he wishes he could tell her the truth, is not enough ... so yes, there is going to be a big meltdown, but the way it's going, Gunjan might not blast him, she will just be truly and very deeply hurt ... and that's going to be more heartbreaking ... because when Gunji gets hurt, we cry ...
Dostaana track with MR starting ... amusing!
Gunji has well and truly shaken off Nups - doesnt even have time to talk to her, and when she does, all her talk is about Samrat.
Samrat is still spoilt brat - mom got him back to college as coach now. How will he ever grow up if mommy keeps buying him all the toys he ever wants?

Blech comedy
5th Oct episode
Nothing much to write - the comedy put me off totally. Gunjan is reaching out to Samrat desperately, her guilt, her regret is in full swing, but Samrat's antics and the comedy which Mohit just CANNOT do ... are putting the track into serious jeopardy. Gunjan goes overboard in setting up Samrat's study time table, buying him books, setting up classes ... she's dealing with Sam of three years ago, not the Samrat of today. And teh Sam of today is completely thrown - he doesn't know how to handle this new aggressive gunjan, so he backs off into lies immediately - he just doesn't know her any more.
Distance will grow before it starts decreasing, I think. Just hope they get over the comedy soon.
More surprises from Gunjan

Something missing
4 Oct episode
Somehow the episode left me dissatisfied ... till I read a post on IF 'Something missing' and realised what it was. It's the fact that the SG relationship is being shown in a very superficial way - like any of the dozens of other couples on TV who don't share their thoughts and keep their innermost secrets from each other. And SG are suddenly being shown to be doing the same thing - and it just doesn't gel. That Gunjan doesn't know what Sam is actually thinking, that Sam doesn't know how to tell Gunjan what he really wants ... their communication, their strongest bond, has gone for a toss, and with that, the essence of SG is floundering.
Two things - one that the HUGE difference between SG of S1 and S2 is that their communication, which was their biggest strength, has gone for a toss. It keeps coming back off and on ... it even came back during their dinner date, but ever since the whole Nupur drama resolved, it has been missing and SG have not yet resolved where they are with each other.
Then the big change in Gunjan ... it was cloaked by her bitterness and her grief, but now that Nupur is back, the fact that she HAS changed over three years in terms of moving on, her confidence, that part is coming to the forefront ...
Taking into mind both these things, the SG track is actually moving pretty logically ... She has developed confidence, she knows where she is in life, and she can now express her feelings and opinions pretty strongly which she never did before ... also like Sona said, she did always plan Sam's day for him, during exams, then during the movie track, she planned her own day so that she could spend time with him ... she has been like that all through, she always had this strong practical side to her ...
as for Samrat - Samrat wants her back in his life ... she hasn't said anything yet ... tho' the way she's behaving now shouldn't leave much doubt ... but they always TALKED earlier, and they still haven't ... so for the moment he chooses the easy way out of going along with her, because he doesn't want to fight with her, or risk what they have right now ... it's been a long time getting back to this stage ...
so both of them are not able to talk directly about where they are with each other, they're skirting around that main issue ... which is why this whole problem is arising.
My ONLY gripe is that the CV's need to get SG back to their usual serious mature selves ... that is the essence of SG ... and this is a serious track in itself ... I hope the light heartness and the comic Sam don't stay for too long ... and the last scene yesterday about his coaching a girls' BB team hopefully means that the seriousness and intensity of SG shd be back soon. And that they start talking and the essence of SG , their communication - should be restored.
The part that I loved and which really got me laughing ... Gunjan's expression when Nups announces her intention of shadowing her ... Gunji doesn't want!!! So much of sister! The days of worshipping Di are well and truly over!

3 Idiots? or Rock On?
1st Oct episode
Interesting SAjan track starting ... Gunjan tries to get Samrat to think about career - she's worried about how he can live without a job. After abortive attempts at becoming scientist and chef, Sam finally dreams about ... basketball. He's found his dream - but before he can tell Gunjan, she gets a call from an old student who's just started his MBA, after abandoning an impossible dream of becoming a painter of hoardings! And has got a job to boot. Gunjan very happy - talks to Sam blissfully about being practical, distinguishing between hobbies and practical life, and finally decides he should also ... do an MBA :) She then proceeds to list all the qualities he has to do that, while Sam is busy banging himself on the head with his basketball ... probably seeing his dreams just going up in smoke. Because Gunji has undergone role reversal here as well - instead of Guru Samrat, we have Guru Gunjan ... and Sam can't withstand her advice any more than she could ever withstand his, apparently! So he bids a fond tearful farewell to his basketball and follows her meekly out.
Must say, these Mumbai guys have this tendency to turn into joru ka ghulams very quickly ... and SG aren't even married yet! :D Though that was a very much married scene we saw, with Gunji making coffee, handing Sam his watch ... also, what happened about Gunji telling Sam just a couple of episodes ago that he should do what makes him happy? Both seem to have forgotten that one!
Or maybe not ... they reach college, and Sam sees the bb team playing, and him among them. And the BB Sam asks him why he isn't with them.
So is Sam going to follow his dream? After some tension and conflict like 3 Idiots? Or is he going to abandon it and be unhappy ... only to pick it up later - like Rock On?
Seems interesting ... just hope they deal with it well. 3 Idiots was dealt with delightfully, alternating between light and serious moments, don't think the MJHT team can go anywhere near that standard, but it shouldn't be treated as a joke. Neither this SG track, not the Nups going back to college one - though I have less hopes for that one, the way it's going. Because Nups has not grown at all in 3 years ... Sam had for some time at least, although he seems to keep regressing. So fingers crossed for SG.

Recovery?
30th Sept
After the hideous buffoonery of the Wednesday episode, there was surprising recovery on the Sajan front. On the whole, cute episode, though I feel bad for Nupur/RP fans - Nupur had a tough time being ragged! Really wonder if the CV's are getting their backs on her and the fans for the hell they put them through for two months of Mission RP, not to mention trying to sabotage the show as much as they could.
Anyway, so Nups enters college all nervous, after being told by Mayank to take a cab, as she can't be seen with him.
In the meantime, Gunjan is trying to call Sam and is getting progressively more agitated when he doesn't answer.
Nupur enters, and Gunjan is there to accompany her in as she realised her sis would be nervous. And here's the role reversal that I loved - Gunjan smiling, confident, supporting her sis, being greeted by the students as Ma'am, and reassuring Nups all the way. But then she has to leave - to wake up Samrat! That was cute - Nups asking, where are you going? Gunjan - Samratji ko jagaane! No beating around the bush, no blushing, whatever stage of their relationship they're in, the friendship is very much back, as is the closeness, and an unconscious possessiveness, an 'apnapan', that she has all the right to do this. It's only that last stage that remains to be covered, to be re-defined.
Nups gets called Aunty, and ragged, and ragged again, by RoAsh, taking badla for the bossing around she did earlier? Or just because she has become pretty obnoxious ... the way she spoke to them even now was rude, to say the least. One track might be that her natural loudness and sharp tongue gets curbed because of being a student again, and a new one at that. Or more likely, RoAsh will just apologize - nothing much further.
Gunji reaches Sam's house, he doesn't answer the doorbell, is sleepy and nonsensical on the phone. Kumbhkaran ki aulad!!!
So Gunji decides to get to his room - but how?
Simple - follow Samrat's route. Get a ladder.
So she does exactly that. And one of the cutest scenes of MJHT where Gunji, looking gorgeous, if rather ruffled, in soft grey, climbs a ladder to sleeping Sam's bedroom, praying nervously all the while, telling herself there's nothing to be worried about.
She enters Sam's room - he's fast asleep. She glares and then tries calling gently. No response. Louder. Still none.
So she leans on the bed to wake him, he turns and rolls over on to her arm, capturing her there close to him. and she stops and stares at him. I need a dream emoticon here :)
And next time she calls his name, her voice is much softer ... first he thinks she's a dream, and he tells her she looks even more beautiful in his dream. Sigh. No wonder Gunji is melting slowly.
But when he realises she isn't a dream - he shouts and jumps up ROFL - modesty outraged??!!!
