OMG - so ASR's parents were weaklings (parents not just mother!) - and if they already had problems (like ODB mentioned earlier in the IPK/narnia day) - then the mother was kind of selfish too - to do something like this on your daughter's wedding day! - i mean no matter what the provocation - how could you hurt your own kid in such a way (and if they had had problems - then this was not a shock!)

- if garima turns out to be the other woman than this will be the most boring, 'anti' climax to a climax!! - hopefully there will be some twist somewhere -
- poor boy has too much of a baggage - if nothing else - today justified ASR's reactions through till date

DeleteCVs are smart...they have left too many paths open again.. either of the possibilities might be true -
1. ASR's parents had a huge MU, explaining dad being so ashamed of being the cause of mom's death and asking her "kaun aurat?"
2. Other woman was garima, but it was the scenario exactly like khushi...and she had to lie to save the Mallik marriage from breaking, but after that she fled off..
3. Other woman wasn't garima, but was covering up for her..
Also, Arnav has neither seen the name of the woman, nor her face...so technically it could be anybody..
which leaves me to a few other questions -
1. has he told everybody what he heard that day b/w his parents? namely, anji and nani? Anji, I would think now.. she would have been too fragile.. but nani? I doubt here too..warna she wouldn't have been so friendly with the woman whose son made her daughter go through hell.. so nobody knows the truth, except ASR.
2. how much does dadi know? and what does she mean when she says "aapne tab bhi galat paksh ka saath diya tha aur aaj bhi.." considering that she believes shyam is innocent from the tale he told her, it means that she also believed her son was innocent and all the kiya-karaya was of the "other woman".. but what role does garima have to play? does dadi know something arnav doesnt?
jaane ke liye dekhiye, Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon, mon-fri raat 8 baje..
par iss baat ki koi guarantee nahi hain ki saare questions ke jawaab milenge.. :P
Mads, ur ques 1. Nani knows about the other woman, remember Nani-Dadi convo in Dadi's room, after khushi intro..... and thats why Nani hates ASR's dad.. but Dadi, apart from being her samdhan, is also her friend, so thats why she hasnt broken off the ties........
Deleteur ques 2, i feel Dadi knows tht MallikSr was not having an affair and Mrs Mallik judged him wrongly....and took a hasty and weak decision of committing suicide...MallikSr's suicide right after also suggest he was broken after his wife's death....
thats the main diff between MallikSr and Shyam
I dont think the other woman was Garima and could Mrs. Mallik have MUed Mr. Mallik after all MU runs in the family.

So could it be that Mallik senior was a victim of the circumstances.

Good episode overall - great acting by all..
Finally a major step in the maturing of the Arnav-Khushi relationshiip - he is opening himself up and exposing his weaknesses to Khushi and learning to lean on her - the 360 of tum sab kuch apne aap nahi kar sakti..he needs her as much as she needs him:)
Garima may be the accused other woman - whether unfairly accused, remains to be seen.. based on his dad's retort,who did I meet and Arnav's admission that he came to know later that she had actually come to say goodbye to his dad ..there was a disconnect..

ReplyDeletesurprise no. 1 : they did NOT stretch the anji going into shock more than 3 mins..I actually thought her reaction justified..a pretty understandable reaction for a woman who refuses to see reality..
surprise no. 2 : khushi tries to make anji see reason, much like the last time...restoration of the KKG I LOVE..muah!!
surprise no. 3 : wonder of wonders!! ASR doesn't blame khushi/use khushi as punchbag..lets her handle di without getting mad EVEN when she is trying to make her see reality..and then, khushi insists she is gonna wait at the hospital with arnav (dia, your SKD!!)
surprise no. 3 : BAAP of all the wonders!! past is finally revealed...well, not completely, but its a start..AND arnav for the first time shares his deepest insecurities and pains with khushi.. and khushi stands by him, rock solid.. :))) gives him that much needed hug..aww ASR looked like a kid when he was in her arms.. and when he said "main kisi bhi tarah himmat jutakar unse kaha ki sab thik ho jayega..main sab thik karunga!" I could sooo see a 14 yr old brother desperately trying to make things right in his sister's life..a sister who he KNEW was weak at heart..and that's one promise he made to himself long ago.. and the anguish, that he was unable to keep that promise.. :((
See CVs...now that wasn't so difficult, was it?? THIS is what we meant by a STORY ... this is the level of episodes I would like to see...past and di, intertwined with ArHi... making it the intense, passionate take that we all love.. :))

a huge round of applause to Barun...you were FANTABULOUS today!! :)) it was his show all the way...from the anguish, to the guilt, to the pain as he finally lets loose his ghosts of the past..to his seeking comfort in khushi.. brilliant acting!!
as for ASR, well, for a guy who refused to say sorry for his own mistake...he has come along a long, long way of admitting guilt to not only himself, but to his better half too..admitting that he is a failure...which he would have never, ever done in his entire life, had it not been khushi to whom he was saying all this..

With the Ganesha idol in the background and arnav letting khushi into his past, and they being there together makes me feel that Arhi will together get Anji to see shyam's truth
also, Aaru...in the precap they showed ArHi running into shyam together... can we take it as a symbolism that they will fight him together? Even if, not physically, but atleast on the same side? Now that they have let khushi into arnav's past and so emotionally close to him, it seems ridiculous that they will drift apart from each other, except, like you said, physically.. :) which I can take anytime!!

I have a feeling other woman is Garima ... Khushis parents died when she was 8. Garima married Shashi and moved in with Khushi 10 and now 11 years back. There is a gap of 4 years. It more and more feels like Mallik Sr. was the reason of Khushis parents death, which made him take of khushi who was with Garima. Yahi huwa toh I feel for Rekha. Bechari kabse bol rahi hai MU aur mat dikhaiye .... yahan toh puri ki puri dastaan likh di gayi hai.
In sab ke beech kisi neh toh haircut ke saat dil garden garden kardiya !!! :D :D :D

Mads - can so see a 14 yr old say - i will restore it all, he being the support and not Di - does not mean DI was weak - as i see it after all, he was just a boy - the enormity of the situation must have hit anji much harder than arnav, one coz she was the daughter and daughters are generally (being liberal here!) more sensitive and closer to parents and two - she was older - more aware of how 'sahara-less' they had become in one stroke - how painful it must have been
But one thing is for certain - i so get everything that ASR did till date - always knew there was a reason but now i can say i support the poor boy (even his obsessive caring for Di - she really is the only one left for him!) AND i also get the blind faith Di has on Shyam - coz she knows that cheating exists and ruins - she turns a blind eye - she prefers to think that the worst is over - what happened to ma will not happen to her - so basically overlook any little suspicious behavior by husband!
Finally - Ab iskay bad to Dia ka update (and edit) banta hai!!! :D
oh and one more thing - if the mother committed suicide coz she 'knew' (thought) her husband was cheating on her - have to say - am with dadi today - she was a weak mother - any other time - i would have felt sorry for her - but just when her daughter was getting married - that was plain selfish!

I am not so sure yet, it will not be a sacrificing bahu thing, but Shyam looks like he has it all set and HE WILL ENTER RM.
When I saw the precap, all I could think was- "This guy is such a smooth talker. He is so very much the patient understanding caring hubby, who'd believe this is the guy who killed that child!" And between angry young man ASR and humble daamad, dadi will choose daamad.
Oh yes Su of course he will enter - and he has to for the story to go forward - but am glad that ODG did not go the sacrificing bahu route - "me is nothing - get back TF for DI types" -
DeleteAND now = when she is with ODB - knows more about him (through his own admission) more than anyone else - is closest to him - then i don't mind them calling TF back - they are in it together - can fight their battles together - hope i am not too confusing - can't seem to put in words the difference i see here - basically one option out of sacrifice for family (with no regard to self) and the other sacrifice for family but with done as 'Us' with full faith and trust in each other!

I got to work..and watched the episode online before anything else (my priorities are in the right order!!)
I loved Khushi taking Arnav's place in the family setup and trying to make Anjali face the reality..
I loved khushi staying back with ASR...
And am glad we know at least something about the BFTP..
My heart went out to Arnav today..bechara kitna kareya apni Di ke liye! i had tears in my eyes seeing him soo helpness...i wanted to say you did more than you promised to do as a 14 year old Chotte..he is a broken man right now with Khushi as his rock!! I love it!!
I like to think that Garima is NOT the other woman (of course mein jo sochti hoon kabhi sach nahi hota..but still!!:P) ...if she is..then A and K kabhi together nahi rahenge!!
Not to be mean or anything..i expect amazing performances by Sanaya..Barun kind of tends to take me by surprise (don't hit me please!!).. Barun...i accept..the episode belonged to you...AMAZING performance!

- Have to love mami - she really loved these two as her own -loved how she - the ever practical one had to break the news - loved how she looked at her sasu-ma for reassurance before speaking out - she normally is at opp ends with her but always on the same side when Anji is concerned (even after the KD) - loved how nani tried to calm her down when she was talking to the doc
- did not like that nani (or mami) did not stay and dadi did - that made no sense except if dadi has a role to play tonight
- i know i have already ranted about KKG's barely there dress but during the high drama episode - amidst all the seriousness, i could not get my eyes of the red and green grapes hanging from her waist - they were so distracting funny!

THE epi belonged to BS and DB....
BS WAS FANTASTIC IN EVERY FRAME...boy u do amaze me esp when i see ur offscreen persona....
DB was very gud in the awareness and breakdown scene...
San was very gud in the Anji-Khushi scenes...
And the Arnav_Khushi scenes were understated..took my breath away...BS, ASR was written for u...and u only and Gul knows this man pretty well it seems..i mean ASR...

irrespective of how the MU is resolved...i hope they will focus on how a situation can be misread on first impressions by anyone....

ReplyDeleteTalking about Mus and past occurrences...on first impression, and i may be completely wrong here...its sad that the mother had to take such a knee jerk reaction....to the issue....usually the hypertense people allow for some large scale panic before they take such steps...giving atleast some time for the elders to step in....
Anji is also not her mother's daughter becos her defence mechanism is vastly diff from her mother.
If it turns out that the mother just panicked...i am sorry the sympathy will be token...
I hope Gul has thot that angle thru....
well we only got ODBs POV after so many days &there is still more to it. Lets see who's next to reveal past. Nani-Dadi-Garima-Shashi. Khushi when Garima-Shashi parts comes up. She must have some memories from age of 8-12, specially after losing her parents she must have strong memories of those days.

Speculating:
I feel it was the decision to hate his father based on that single scene he witnessed (much like how he reacted on the terrace scene)- changed his name to Raizada.
I don't think, as a 14 year old, he could have taken any other major decision. He also said he did not see the woman after that.So -no acts committed in revenge then.
Is that woman and 'woh aurat- uss raat' the same?
I don't think so.
Because the woman who came to the funeral looked sad- she was the one who was being protected by ASR's dad- ended up in both of them being MU-ed.
Could that have been Shyam's mom? May be she also died later and Shyam holds ASR's father responsible for her dishonour, hence came to take revenge on the family.

Yeah even I am a little disappointed here. I preferred to think they were both murdered, because we only heard the gunshots- what if evil chacha or someone who created the MU- decided to get them both out of his way for good. Since they didn't show either of them shooting themselves(OFC, ASR didn't see it- therefore it cannot be there in his fb)-.....
I am still sticking to the 'murder ' theory till I am proved wrong.
After all, it turned out there was no 'other woman' at all as I hoped. Plus it is hard to believe their mom would shoot herself on the day of the daughter's wedding- there is DEFINITELY something more to it.

DeleteI am not anti-PH or anything like that.....i react to what is on offer...if necessary eat my words....i have never doubted that there has been brilliance in a lot of past episodes but that will not make me say that they have been brilliant thruout....which i know is not possible in any case, a TV serial is not easy to make, to hold attention every single thru story telling is a tuf ask....
my rants and disbelief is only restricted to what is portrayed on screen....I am not upset if Anji turns white, grey or black.....my expectation is that the benaviour of a character on screen be consistent with the makers have shown and if there is a deviation, please carify...what has contributed to the change...its not as if people can't change....
My first sense of disbelief was about Shyam....i never understood whether he is the third wheel inthe ARHI story.....becos his actions were a bif baffling at times....i am glad some glimpses are emerging....i am convinced he did not do this for Khushi or property altho his monologues always made us believe that.....

No one is. We all get a little disappointed once in a while when we feel the PH is cheating us off a love story.
Did I not rant during the kidnap when I felt things were not going the way it was 'supposed' to?

Just trying to tell you- hold on, the story is still there.
Trust the CVs, because they know what they are doing even if it looks like they've lost it.(Poor things, they do- but they don't cover up. Instead, they beg us to understand their limitations or end up ranting back at us.)
Wanted to highlight the 'brilliance' of the team yesterday- it is NOT always there- but IPK was phenomenal yesterday.
(Trust me, you don't watch any other serials.)
I am also wondering 'what' SP is sending Sanaya and Barun to London to promote?
I mean, already IPK is popular overseas, and there is nothing else worth promoting in SP. May be they just wanted to gift them both a trip abroad!

ReplyDeleteYesterday's eppy was really good...I thought Daljeet was amazing. She acted really well. And being in denial initially and then slowly accepting it isn't very unrealistic.
Arnav and Khushi too...perfectly in character very well done. Acting was superb, characterization was superb, reactions were exactly right...
I think the actors, writers, director all did a great job- Great execution.
Also for me I was sooooo thrilled to finally get an answer about the past!!
Looks like hid dad wasn't cheating....
My only question is...once Dadi and Garima (After being majorly misunderstood, humiliated further etc -they have to stretch it na) prove that he wasn't cheating will Dadi use that as ammo for getting Shyaam back..see you were wrong about your father and you're wrong about Shyaam too.

I feel Shyam can get back in RM without the past being explained.
The past-I feel they will give it to us in bits...it has a bigger role than getting Shyam back in RM.
It will be uncovered box by box- until they reach the truth in the very core.
I feel dadi may have NO solid proof of her son's innocence- it is just based on her knowledge of her son, probably. Otherwise she could've cleared the MU long back.
Just like ASR has NO solid proof of Khushi's innocence(though Payal and Guptas can vouch for it- even they have no proof)- It is just his 'atoot vishwaas'.
But he can say clearly that Shyam told him that he loved K more than Anjali- only Q is- will Shyam change the story again?

If that is the case then he wouldn't go to the extent of killing his own child and yes, we do not know if he is habitual philanderer or his waywards ways are restricted to K. I find it easier to accept him as a loafer,liar and cheat with a mammoth avarice for wealth and power.

ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see how they will show us Shyam's re-entry, if there is one. Arnav did emphasise the point that he always wanted Di's happiness. What if Di now begs him to allow her husband to stay back because that is what will make her happy? If they show Khushi tell Arnav that he should let Shyam back in, I would be disappointed in her. I would have thought that Arnav's safety is mroe important to her than Di's happiness. If Arnav himself decides to bring him back, especially if he is only doing it for Di's happiness and not with a clear plan to expose his ugly face, I would be disappointed in him. This is why I preferred a peethal ka barthan moment where he disappears and hence cannot be held responsible for getting Shyam back and Shyam's re-entry would have been orchestrated by Dadi. After yesterday's episode, that clearly isn't happening. With Shyam's re-entry there is no way I would want Arshi wedding. K is better off at her mayka. Does this mean that Garima story will be shelved for now or will we get to see a showdown between Dadi and Garima which may prompt K to leave with her parents for the sake of protecting both Garima and Arnav from more pain? If they adopt the latter route then they can show Arnav being disturbed by K's disappearance and trying to track her down. During his absence from RM, Dadi can bull doze her way into getting Shyam back.
I agree with you that ASR's dad has been misunderstood. This makes Dadi's judgment back then right but her concluding that since ASR was wrong then is wrong now too is going to be disproved. It also seems that Garima is the other woman going by the veiled face they showed yesterday. I am inclined to believe in the theory that ASR's papa was responsible for the accident that killed K's parents and to atone for it he was financially helping Garima. This must have been twisted and presented to ASR's mom that he was having an affair with Garima by the wicked chacha (the man who was wearing specs in the funeral). K may try to prove Garima's innocence so that their relationship can get back on track. If Arnav could not tolerate Shyam because he reminded of what his dad had supposedly done, how much more resentment he may have towards the woman whom he believed to have ruined their lives. So Garima's past has to be revealed to him. Maybe once everything is out in the open, Arnav can call Garima 'amma' as K always wanted him to.

Later on, I wished it wouldn't happen because I expected a more mature ASR- and I have to say this- I did not expect Gul will be this CONSISTENT with the love story- BECAUSE THIS IS EXACTLY HOW ARHI should behave at this point in their relationship- and I was too scared to even expect it.
This is why you find me defending the PH over and over again, they GO BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. (Not always, there are lapses here and there. but once they took the definitive step forward with the Hut scene and Arhipathy(Both in kidnap track which was their biggest headache *applause*), they have not gone back. Every time I wonder if they'll play 'Arnav is a dark horse' to their advantage and twist the love story, but they have not disappointed me the entire track post kidnap.

This is why I want Anjali to shut up. I don't want her begging, pining etc. She has lost all that is most important to a woman- her husband and her baby.
For her husband- she pined and whined.
For the baby- I read this as the BIGGEST loss to Anjali- compounded with the fact that she will feel guilty also since 1. She tried to kill the baby once. 2. Her careless actions led to this end to her baby.
(Don't know if Anjali's brain will work to at least get guilty, may be she will just be devastated)
So, for the baby that is the biggest loss she suffered- I'd personally want her to go in to emotional shock and numbness. (She had some hope at least of getting Shyam back, but this is IRREVERSIBLE. And here, I can understand if she weeps on Shyam's shoulders, but to do justice to the character, I hope she does not demand the return of her husband..)
Shyam CANNOT make up for this loss. She does not have to beg. Just stay quiet- dadi will do it for her.
If she begs Shyam be brought back...the character is doomed forever.(It is too straightforward. I hope the CVs will make a twist here in fav of Anji's character.)
Even if Anj does not beg for his return, if Arnav is made to bring him back because of Dadi, I still will be disappointed in him.

Right from teri meri 2: I've always said there will be a separation. (That song was done beautifully- it showed ASR's introspection and the future- ASR looks on as Khushi leaves him. Is it a question or a look of helplessness in his face there?) I felt then, that the next separation will be initiated by Khushi.Or may be he is helpless as the decision is taken by someone else- in the current situation I don't see ASR helpless unless Anjali puts her foot down and says Chotte cannot marry Khushi.
( This is why I feel there will be no wedding right now.)
So if Khushi takes the step away- could it be because of Garima, and why can't she share this with ASR?
I feel ASR is more mature in this love story now. He is the one who said 'we wil not play any more games."
She is still doubting his love for her- "I have no proof for you, I can only beg you to look in to my eyes and see the truth there.", "I am not trying to pry in to your past","humne unke liye kuch nahi kiya"- she is not at the same level as ASR, I feel.
She also made a decision long time back that there will be no secrets between them- so I am really eager in anticipating what is going to unfold in the next few weeks.
Garima being the veiled woman- ..."jhhot hum tab bhi bolna nahi chahte the"- very confusing... The veiled woman was helpless- did not have to lie- who would have asked her to lie about what? And she feels she did something that needs dadi's forgiveness- I am totally confused there.

I was wondering if Dadi may say that Anj was trying to hide her husband's presence in the house and that is why she fell down the stairs. Although Arnav may be upset that his Di betrayed him behind his back, he may be made to feel guilty for pushing her into doing so to keep him happy. This could prompt him to allow Shyam back.

Let me see if I can get the time line and the BFTP right.
ReplyDeleteKhushi just celebrated her 23rd birthday going by the reference to it in one of the episodes. This means at the start of the show she must have been around 22 years old.
In one of the early episodes Buaji had said that Khushi came to live with them 10 years back. That would mean that she had come to live with the Guptas when she was around 12 years old, maybe after Shashi married Garima.
Khushi lost her parents in an accident when she was 8 and has been with Garima since then. This means that Graima was supporting Khushi alone for 4 years.
Arnav lost his parents 14 years back, when he was 14. At the time Khushi must have been around 9 years old (23-14).
So it is possible that Arnav's father was responsible for the accident which killed K's parents. Given that he killed himself after his wife committed suicide, it goes to show that the man is deeply remorseful if his acts result in any loss. So he could have felt guilty for the loss of a small girl's parents and decided to support K. Garima would have accepted his support but there was nothing else between them. I don't think Khushi had ever seen Arnav's father because if she had, she would have recognised him (afterall she was 8/9 years old then). Maybe Garima was visiting his office to get the money.
Enter the wicked chacha who wants to usurp the Mallik wealth. He comes to know of the clandestine support extended by Papa Mallik and poison's Arnav's mom about it. Arnav's mom is led to believe that her husband was having an affair with the woman and was financing their love child. On the night of Anj's wedding, Garima may have been in dire need of money and may have met Arnav's father. Arnav's mom may have witnessed them together and drawn her own conclusions, based on whatever she had been told before. After accusing her husband and without waiting to hear him out (we now know where Arnav gets his genes from) she impulsively shoots herself. The wedding doesn't take place and the family goes into disrepute. Arnav's father ends up killing himself unable to bear the grief.
Hearing of the death of Papa Mallik, Garima may have come to pay her last respects. Chacha may have alerted Dadi of her presence and Dadi may have had a showdown with her where she would have accused her of trying to milk the Malliks for money and in the process ruined that family. As Garima may have felt guilty of the loss of two lives she may not have clarified that she wasn't having an affair with Papa Mallik. She may have moved to another part of the city and tried to rebuild her life, supporting K as best as she can. She may have met Shashi who, himself was looking Garima may have recounted the whole story and Shashi accepts her as she is.

Wonder what Dadi did when chacha threw the siblings from the house. Should she not have defended and supported them? Why did she hide herself in the ashram? I don't think the Malliks were killed, at least not Arnav's mom for he seems to have witnessed her shooting herself.
I don't think Dadi knows the entire truth and may believe that Garima was having an affair with Papa Mallik. She never defends her son. All she says is that it is not as big a mistake for Arnav's mom to kill herself over.
Garima may have asked for Dadi's forgiveness for indrectly being responsible for her son's death. Her failure to clear his name would tantamount to a lie, which is why she is feeling guilty but she had to do it to safeguard Khushi.

At the same time, i don't buy the didi ka saut on the khushi aspect becos Shyam did not really know of the Arnav-Khushi deep connection...so anything he did on that angle cannot be shown as a premeditated...u can fall in love....but u can't decide for other people to fall in love...He can be exacting some revenge for something in his past...that does not condone his actions in anyway i am just stating that even people who take the wrong path are driven by propoganda, misplaced sense of injustice etc....yes u don't need a motive to pursue wealth but i would still believe that u must have a motive or atleast u have been brainwashed to think the way that Shyam has done to harm his own tanay/tanvi(son/daughter)
And if use, he chose to stalk Khushi, came after her, impersonated as an unmarried man...etc...so this story is more jalebi than we think...also the presence of other woman in the funeral...she does not appear to be Garima...the statement by Arnav's mother...u have never loved me...so the trigger is not based on one event, i presume....

DeleteThat woman looked very much like Garima. She did not have her bindi but otherwise the features were very similar. I find this whole revenge mode for Shyam difficult to digest because there was not one scene which showed him voice this and we do have a lound mouthed villian in Shyam. He could have said that the Raizadas will have to pay for what they did to me/my family. All we have seen him rant is that he wants Arnav's wealth at any cost and he wants Khushi. It is only when he was chased out of RM did he says he will get back at them but that is for what they did then.
Greed and avarice can been strong motivation for anything.
I wouldn't put too much weight on Anrav's mom's statement 'You have never loved me.' I say it to my hubby even now (after 17 years of marriage and that too when I know he does). When one is angry you say a lot of things you don't mean to. Moreover, Arnav's mom may have felt unloved because his dad was busy at work, the reason why the kids bonded more with their mom than with their dad. That does not mean Arnav's father was having an affair. He sounded genuinely puzzled when his mom was accusing him of breaking their family. There did not seem even a semblance of guilt.

He may have married Anjali and was plotting revenge on the Raizadas when Khushi entered his life. He fell in love with her innocence which is what he had found lacking in the cruel blows life had dealt him?
This man is severely SCARRED and he will stop at nothing to get his revenge...What did the Maliks do to his family? (OFC, I don't swear by this!)

ReplyDeleteas far as timelines go - the CVs are either not clear on the BFTP or are leaving us hanging on purpose - the whole thing depends on the variance of 4 years - if ODG was 18 as stated in the beginning of the show and highlighted everywhere - then her parents died 4 years after ODB's and if she is 22-23 (as some reports are saying now - such as the khabri guy on the news Channel) then her parents died around the same time as ODB's and either ones could have caused hurt to the other
i wanted the BFTP to be powerful (worthy of ODB's reactions) - though i loved his reactions - cant help but feel the BFTP (what is revealed so far that is) was kind of a let down - and def. does not put ODB's parents in any flattering light:
- a mother who was a weak woman - she preferred to kill herself rather than walk out on her husband - that too when her children needed her the most - one was just a teenager, very impressionable and the other on the verge of getting married!
- a father who was equally weak, if not more - if he was innocent - all the more reason to stay & fight for his name and face in front of his children, NOT kill self and leave both children completely alone! - if he was guilty - i find it hard to believe that he cared enough to kill self
so am really banking on the CVs to spring out some more googlies and turn the tale on its head!
Cant decide - am not sure if i want to sacrifice ASR sr so that ODB's judgement was not 'wrong' (and dadi right!) then or if i want ODB to be wrong then and come to be at peace with his dad now!
But one thing is clear - no wonder why he believed his eyes (and not his heart) on the terrace that day - he saw the 'truth' 14 years ago too and his dad's dying like that only added to his belief that he saw the truth - hence he knew he had to trust what he saw - even when it concerned the woman he loved!

I am willing to overlook a few 'burning kostens' for the sake of the drama. Redux had this explanation for the glass shard and blood- (Ghausia)- written beautifully, don't know if the makers intended the symbolism.
Just that the drama with the blood worked big time for me- like some dancer (can't remember who- was it Anarkali?)- the pathos or whatever...and she did this for her cheating, scheming husband...Shyam's evil grin...merry making in the hall....
Kind of liked the portrayal of the scene, kostens aside.

ReplyDeleteI am just wondering about the age of Anjali and arnav ..Anjali must be at least 19 or 20 if she is getting married and we know arnav was only 14
Under normal families it should have been the DUTY of elder sister to look after kid brother .A has just abdicated her duty as elder sister though she is at least 5-6 years older. Does not speak well of her or her sense of responsibility.No wonder most of us cannot sympathise with her ARNAV has had to grow up too fast hence the few kinks (can't think of a better word ).Feel really really sorry for him .He is shouldering burdens which are not his.
just reiterating that acting by BS was stupendous ..we could not only see the pain in his eyes but feel it in his entire body language.KUDOS to you BS!!!
