31/8- Epi 332 ... Yeh Jeevan Hai

Friday 31st August

Yeh jeevan hai, iss jeevan ka,
yehi hai yahi hai, yahi hai rang roop
Thode gham hain, thodi khushiyan,
yahi hai, yahi hai, yahi hai chaaon dhoop

Celebrations and joy on one side ... a couple bound by the ties of true love, getting ready to spend the rest of their lives together in the holy bond of matrimony ...

Betrayal and pain on the other side ... a couple bound only by deceit and greed, the bond of matrimony a sham, and a husband whose duty is to love and protect his wife, is the one who hurts her the most, and is the killer of his own child.

Loved the Mehndi Laga ke Rakhna ... was so annoyed at the interruptions by Poojali and VLR that I made an uncut almost immediately after finishing the episode ... :(
Loved Nani's dance with Akash-NK, loved the Khushi-NK dance, loved the jugalbandi of Mami and Buaji, loved the little touches of Khushi teasing Payal when Akash was dancing, Nani dragging Khushi to Arnav ... and of course the Arhi parts ...

Need to think of a better name for VLR ... Evil personified ... gloats as he watches his plans come to fruition, and kill his own unborn child ... Evil personified ... today sunk to lower depths than ever before ...

I did feel sorry for Anjali ... but only when I wasn't feeling totally impatient and exasperated at her utter stupidity ... does she own just one pair of slippers that when she went to her room, cut her feet on glass, she could not take the time to find another pair and wear them immediately?! The FIRST thing any reasonably sensible sane person would do when they found pieces of broken glass lying around ... wear shoes!!!! And to add to it, she starts walking around with bits of glass stuck to her foot and tries to take it off while standing and walking ... heavens, woman, sit down and take the pieces out ... use your brains!!!! Or don't you have any at all?!!!! No wonder she fell down ... even if VLR Evilwa hadn't booby-trapped the stairs, she would probably have tripped over her own feet or the ten yards dupatta she was wearing or from the weight of the kilos of fake jewelry ... the woman is that stupid!!!

So she lost the baby ... can't say I'm surprised. It was going to happen ... there is no place for a baby on this show. And in a way it's good the connection to Shyam is completely finished now ... maybe she can finally get on with her life and forget the Creepwa. The only reason Arnav spared Shyam at all was because Anjali was pregnant ... now that the baby is gone, there is no reason to be soft on Shyam at all. No stigma about fatherless child to worry about either, when there is no child ...
Don't quite understand how Shyam thinks this is his ticket into RM, I would have thought he just cut his last remaining link pretty comprehensively! Unless of course Anjali loses her mental balance and her short term memory and the doctors say it would be good to call Shyam back till she recovers it ... or Shyam tells her to playact accordingly ... don't put it past him to do so ... and don't put it past Anjali's stupidity to agree ... the woman is seriously that brainless.

Did I say I'm feeling sorry for her? I don't think I am ... not very much :) I was always expecting the loss of this baby, besides I think the nobility of bringing up a child alone is over-rated ... a child needs two parents, and moreover, two parents who love and respect each other ... imagine a child growing up with Anjali's complexes of being unwanted and unloved by its own father, and its father being hated by the rest of the family. SGP had done this beautifully ... the Radha Bua-Deepak track, of how RB hated and shunned her own child for so many years because she was raped by his father.

What will happen to the Arhi remarriage now? Will the cv's really postpone it yet again?! That will kill the show! :(
My SKD (Sapnon Ki Duniya) ... Arnav wants to stay at the hospital with Anjali, doctor says a woman should stay, he wants Khushi to stay with him, or even better, Khushi refuses to leave him alone ... Dadi throws another tantrum about not being married yet, and so he takes Khushi, Nani and Buaji to the temple, calls Garima and Shashi there and they go through the pheras quietly ... also realising that they have done the haldi rasam already too ... since they have been slowly realising that they have actually completed all the shaadi ka rasams, let that be put to some good use. With Anjali's loss, SR is indefinitely postponed ... so that purpose is achieved.

30/8 - Epi 331 ... Tujhe Jeevan Ki Dor se Baandh Liya Hai

Thursday 30th August

Tujhe jeevan ki dor se baandh liya hai, baandh liya hai ...
Tere zulmon sitam ... sar aankhon par
Maine badle mein pyaar ke pyaar diya hai, pyaar diya hai ...
Teri khushiyan aur gham ... sar aankhon par

Enjoyed the Arshi scene a lot today ... even on a very fuzzy youtube video on a bus from NY to DC ... waiting to watch on HD later tonight :) Mainly because the cv's didn't rush it!!! For once they took it nice and slow and took a good 4-5 minutes over it ... now that's what they need to do more often ... much more often!!!

Enjoyed the rest of the episode too ... repeat music, but what the heck ... at least the atmosphere was finally festive and happy! And Creepali was confined to the last five minutes ...
Anjali is acting DM agent for Garima today ... prevents a Dadi-Garima face to face in her attempt to shield her KP.

Anjali is not only looking over-decked, she's looking almost like a kothevaali madam in those flowers and heavy obviously fake jewelry! Thought Jeevika's jewelry was the high point of bling ... Anjali went even further! Caught the full effect on fuzzy YT video ... Yuck!!!

Quick update on the Arshi scene ... after ages, it made me want to write a full post on it ... but don't have the time ... :-o
LOVED the Arshi scene ... LOVED all the little nuances ... finally they spent time on setting it up, the scene itself and the aftermath ... loved the slightest of 'isharas' with which Arnav calls Khushi aside with just his eyes, she responds with her eyes, follows him instantly ... the changing emotions in the scene, from desire and passion, love, acceptance of his touch, of his right to touch her, and most important ... an acknowledgement of not only love, but also their mutual desire for each other ...
And loved the aftermath as Khushi runs away but keeps inviting him with her eyes back to the dance floor ... waits to see if he's following her ... he put the mehndi for her, now she teases him with her eyes to dance as well ... all their attention only on each other ... Thank you cv's, for spending time on Arshi, and not just giving a random dori scene ... this dori scene worked for me and how! :"> Now this is what I have been crying about ... give Arshi time!!!!

29/8 - Epi 330 ... Confrontations

Wednesday 29th August

Confrontations ... those that happened, those that didn't.

Those that happened - Arnav-Dadi ... Dadi wants Shyam back, Arnav is equally clear Shyam is not coming back. Nani wants peace.
Why don't either Arnav or Nani tell Dadi that Shyam himself admitted he doesn't want to be with Anjali, doesn't consider her his wife? And so they don't trust him, don't trust his volte face? They don't have to mention Khushi at all.

Why is Nani asking Arnav to keep quiet and calm down? Dadi is the one who's creating the tamasha here.

Why can't Arnav just tell Anjali the truth, what Shyam told him, and then let Anjali decide for herself? If Anjali the Dumbo wants to live with a two-timing sneaky silver-tongued snake with a roving eye, at the end of the day, it's her decision ... let her live with her hubby and be happy with his sweet words and his infidelity. If it doesn't bother her, it's her funeral surely ... how much can Arnav save his dimwit sister? And if Shyam's infidelity truly doesn't bother Anjali as much as living without a husband does, then again, it's her decision ... and her problem. Why keep her in the dark?
And if Arnav and Nani are afraid that Anjali will go the way of her mother and commit suicide, then protecting her from the truth about her husband isn't really the answer either ... because VLR the silver-tongued Snakewa can overcome all their half-truths and evasions, the only thing he doesn't have a reply to is the truth.

Arnav thinks Anjali has truly forgotten Shyam and is moving on ... why doesn't Dadi tell Arnav that Anjali still loves Shyam and wants him back? And that she is doing all this drama of asking for Shyam to come back because Anjali wants it?

Good thing the confrontation was done in private ... I thought after the confrontation, the mehndi would be well and truly torpedoed ... but it actually went on ...

Confrontation that didn't happen ... Garima overhears everything, including that Arnav and Di had a tough time getting over the past of 14 years ago, as well as the past of Shyam (implied, not actually spoken ... so I was a bit confused there) ... and decides again to keep quiet ... Umm, Garimaji, all very well, but does that mean you will play hide and seek with Dadi till the wedding is over? Or try to? And what happens once the wedding is done? Will you disappear for ever? Or will you then appear in front of Dadi and hope that things will be miraculously all right?
Dia's note ... yes, the same thing happened in Maryada, which was actually a pretty sensible serial, all things considered ...

Arnav mentions his mother's sorrows, the problems in her marriage ... so his parents' marriage was a troubled one ... because of the ever-present other woman?

Shyam's re-entry was given wayyyyy too much footage ... I forwarded it even on first watch! It wasn't like there was much suspense there ... honestly, cv's ... *HEAD DESK*

So, the Godh Bharayi actually gets over and the Mehndi starts ... with the entry of the dhol players ... and VLR shamelessly ogling Khushi again ... don't believe the utter vileness of this guy!!! X( And *HEAD DESK* why again so much footage to the Creepwa??!!!

Creepwa's magic yellow box held ... latex gloves and broken glass!!! *Shock and horror!!!* So he wants Anjali to get injured and be confined to bed till delivery? Will that postpone the marriage?

Another confrontation that didn't happen ... Dadi walks past Garima this time ... after creating all the ruckus about meeting Garima, Dadi seems to have forgotten all about her now, in the more important job of escorting her delicate granddaughter everywhere.

And Mehndi starts ... far more festive and less tense than God Bharayi ... although hadn't the Raizada relatives already seen Khushi's munh dikhayi? Can the cv's put in a line of dialogue somewhere, anywhere, to inform the guests that the rasams are being done again because Dragon Dadi missed the shaadi the first time round, and insisted on a traditional affair? And the much in love couple obliged happily?

Confrontation that happened ... Anjali-Shyam ... and wonder of wonders, he gives her another gift for their baby! And then goes away incognito as though he is a true Majnu, and Anjali stares at him as he turns, and smiles as though she is simply delighted that her legally wedded husband had to sneak back into her maayka in disguise like a thief, and hide his face from everyone to see her ... the fact that he apparently doesn't have the guts to stand up to the world, take his wife's hand in his and proclaim, she is my wife, and she stays with me, whatever everyone may say ... that doesn't seem to bother her in the slightest ...

Arey Anjali, see how Arnav holds his wife's hand and threatens to leave the house with her if she isn't accepted as his wife ... see your skunk of a husband ... and see for yourself the difference! And if you can't ... leave the house with your husband if you love him so much ... who's stopping you?! Only your brother's money? Or the inner knowledge that without your brother's money, your hubby's sweet words will dry up like old gum?

Last bit of the episode was the sweetest ... a tiny Arshi scene ... as Khushi starts to tell the mehndi lady to put A, pre-empted by 'Put LG' from Arnav, happily joining his lady love at her mehndi ... after all, Nani gave permission :) And they both remember that this rasam was also completed some time ago. Khushi Kumaaari Guptaaaa ... :)

Okay episode ... liked the Dadi-Arnav-Nani scene, and also the tiny Nani-Arnav scene ... am getting impatient at the Garima-Dadi hits and misses now ... and Shyali are just plain boring, with the amount of screen time they get! Added to which, Khushi was there for barely half a scene for her own mehndi ... the cv's are having major trouble keeping so many balls in the air, and balancing all the tracks ... they are not doing too well as of now. This is Arhi's marriage track ... there should be at least one good strong Arshi scene in each episode for 5-6 minutes, Arnav-Dadi took up some time today, but Shyam alone with his much hyped entry, and Shyali and their eyelocks were just plain boring! There is NO suspense left on Shyam's tricks and plans, so they really need to cut his screen time!

28/8 - Epi 329 ... Connections, Old and New

Tuesday 29th August

Shyam in fake moustache, fools around with some electrical connections for some nefarious purpose.

NK discovers wire leading to nowhere, he and Arnav investigate, VLR cuts the camera connection just in time and has to remove one of his cctv cameras.

Garima and Buaji discuss old connections … and connections of the heart. How Garima looked after two motherless girls as her own and never let them feel the absence of their own mothers. One her niece, one her husband’s child from his first wife. And Garima decides that old connections cannot be allowed to overshadow the new … she will beg Dadi’s forgiveness if she has to, but she will ensure her daughters’ future is secure.

Shyam sets up more electrical connections … preparing for a short circuit? And then disappears … Arnav follows him into Anjali’s room … where Shyam sticks a yellow box under Anjali’s bed and then disappears again.

Anjali clutches her suddenly obvious baby bump as though scared the cushion will fall unless she holds on to it. Anjali/Daljeet … acting pregnant is not only about wearing a baby bump, it’s also about waddling rather than walking and generally looking pregnant. And Arnav gets the security tightened on the workers, although it’s a bit like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Garima, Buaji and Khushi arrive, greeted by Nani, Mami and Payal … finally the correct protocol.

Khushi looking drop dead gorgeous in lehnga and barely there choli. Payal, Garima and Buaji all looking good too, liked their saris. Mami is as garish as ever, and extra overloaded with jewelry. Buaji makes it a point to announce that Garima wants to meet Dadi.

Khushi looking for Arnav … aww. :"> And after ages, the gust of wind and dil ka connection … Rabba ve … as they sense each other’s presence, Arnav halfway up the stairs with NK, stops … just in time to see Khushi enter … an eyelock which goes on and on, which they are not bothered to hide any more, let the world watch, they only have eyes for each other, and are perfectly happy that way. As NK asks, how did you know she was here, and Khushi answers for Arnav … ‘bas, pata chal jaata hai.’ We just know.

And a little teasing by Arnav of his gorgeous biwi … ears, nose, cheeks, till she is flustered again … is she looking all right? What is he trying to tell her/ and as he disappears with a grin, she has to check worriedly with Payal …  am I looking all right? He was trying to tell me something …
Payal reassures her, and Khushi is relieved … :)

Dadi settles an overloaded Anjali … omg, what was she wearing? About 60 kilos of gold in jewelry … flowers in her hair … hello, Anjali is not the bride-to-be … she is only the mother-to-be … we have a real bride here, who is much more simply dressed in comparison.
And a missed connection with Dadi and Garima. :-o

NK-Arnav-Akash bromance was cute!:)

Dadi wants damaadji at god bharayi … so did Anjali … well, sweeties, everyone can’t have everything they want all the time, now can they? Especially when you want such nasty things …

And another missed connection between Dadi and Garima … :-o

Cute ArHi phone call … Arnav oviously getting bored with bromance, he wants the real thing … so he calls Khushi. Again cute the way way Khushi sees his call, and starts talking immediately, no hello hi, just complaining about his teasing … which he carries on … won’t you do pehle aap, pehle aap …
So Khushi gets her back by handing the phone to NK, Arnav recovers swiftly by handing the phone to NK … another cross connection between NK and Buaji … dude, it’s some girl for you :))

Raizadas have the worst friends and neighbours … as Anjali sits clutching her cushion … sorry, baby :)) … and the god bharayi gets under way, neighbours all gossip about missing damaadji … and Dadi takes the opportunity to rub her point in to Nani … I told you Damaadji should be here, call him right now.

Why are the Raizada ladies never ready with some answer for their guests? First with La, then with Khushi’s munh dikhayi, and now again. And there was one episode with some pooja in the middle when again Shyam’s absence was remarked upon … If you’re going to have a god bharayi for a pregnant woman, it’s obvious her husband will be expected at the function, so have some answer ready, instead of looking gobsmacked and helpless!

And as Khushi disappears to get water for a distressed Anjali, Arnav overhears Dadi tell Nani to get Shyam back, and he instantlymakes it very clear that Shyam will never be allowed back into the house.

Precap … Arnav tells Dadi that they have barely recovered from what happened fourteen years ago, and Shyam repeated the same mistake and deceived Di and the entire family … a horrified Garima overhears.

So will the mehndi for Khushi even take place at all? Or will the Arnav-Dadi showdown happen and then they all calmly carry on with the mehndi ... as Garima decides again to disappear and let the wedding take place before she confronts Dadi?

27/8 - Epi 328 ... Double Date

Monday 27th August

I love you just the way you are ... you may not be perfect, but I'm not perfect either ... and that makes us perfect for each other.

I want my perfect world, with my perfect husband and my perfect family ... so what if they don't really exist.

Nice idea, something got lost in the execution ... and can they stop playing comedy music during Arshi scenes?!!! Loved Sanaya's hair and makeup, especially her eyes, reminded me of the heroines of yesteryears ... liked her outfit, except for the big gold band at the bottom ... should have been just black and silver, why the gold?!!! *head desk* do they actually TRY to ruin all her outfits? Maybe they do, actually ... how else can they show Khushi's jhalliness changing to sophistication ... the moment they give Sanaya anything halfway decent, like the red or green saris, she looks far too stunning to pass off as remotely unsophisticated.

Something seemed to change in Anjali with that narrow escape ...

*edited*

Had an early night for once, so had time to write an episode update :)

Arnav offers without even thinking much about it, to drop Di … and Dadi too … no problem. And at any time in the past, probably Anjali would have taken him up without thinking on his offer, it’s completely natural on his part, and what he would do always … after all, her is her Chotey, he takes care of her always, he would never dream of letting her go alone at night …

But when dil mein chor ho, when she is hiding things from him, it’s the last thing she wants. And Anjali being Anjali, she can’t confront, can’t refuse outright, she can only prevaricate and pretend she’s saving him the trouble, not that she doesn’t want him to drop her … and Dadi joins in the pretence. Both women lying to him, both so certain that he is in the wrong about what he has done, that they don’t see the very obvious truth in front of them, the truth evident in his every gesture, in the unthinking care and concern for Di … the truth that he would never do anything to hurt Di.

But of course they know he wouldn’t, it’s just that he has misunderstood things … and instead of trying to make him understand, they have to resort to lying and deceiving him. It’s all because of Khushi, he’s under her spell, so he will not listen to the truth about Shyam …

How exactly meeting Shyam on the sly will convince him about Shyam’s truth is not explained. How has Shyam managed to convince both women that he is innocent, but he still needs to hide and skulk and lie … that he cannot simply come straight out and tell the Raizadas that I’m sorry if you think I was lying, but I love my wife very much, Khushi has got it all wrong, and I cannot live without my wife, so I want to take her away with me.

But no, both women are gullible and easy prey to Shyam … one because she can’t bear to see her perfect world crumble, she needs the support of her husband’s sweet nothings as well as the more practical solid money support of her brother, she needs to feel the love and need from both … and the other, set in her rigid thinking, sure that Arnav was wrong to blame his father so many years ago, when father was caught in the love of an undeserving woman, and now the son is repeating the same mistake, caught in the love of a worthless woman, and blaming the wrong man. Of the two, Dadi is the more to be censured … and pitied … her blind faith in a son-in-law she has apparently never met earlier, overrides her belief in her childhood friend and her own grandson. Which is why I feel sure that by the end of the past revelation, Dadi will come to realize her own mistake in the past … from the mistake she is making in the present.

Anjali is lost in her blind love … but can Dadi not see from the very fact that she has to tell lies about Anjali meeting Shyam, that she is doing something wrong? Why should she, or indeed, anyone, have to lie about a husband and wife meeting each other? Why should anyone have to abet that lie? Dadi is a very stupid woman!

And felt sorry for Arnav … he does try to do his best for his Di … the only mistake he made was not telling her the complete truth about her KP … It’s time he learnt that hiding bitter truths from Anjali is a mistake. But then again, maybe she will just conveniently faint again.

Arnav-Khushi date … Arnav waiting at the restaurant for Khushi, alerted by the sound of her payal, looks around to see a new Khushi … all in black, hair tied back, an attempt to look like the glamorous sophisticated ASR-type lady she isn’t … but Arnav is spell-bound nevertheless … Khushi looks beautiful. More make up than she normally wears, eyes darkened, long earrings, and no other jewelry than her MS, an epitome of grace and elegance … even the slightly loud gold border of her dress can’t take that away completely.

Is this the first time that someone wanted to do something for ASR? In his way? The way they thought he would like? A reservation at his favourite restaurant, even though she doesn’t like Italian food, doesn’t know the first thing about it … dressing the way she thinks he would like, in his favorite color … even wanting to pull out the chair for him because he once did the same for her … his own family, including Anjali loves him a lot, but they stay the way they are, they don’t try to do things the way he likes … he’s on his own in his world, and he joins them in theirs … but now Khushi wants to join him in his world too.

And she does it all, deals with all the mishaps in true Khushi style, without getting fazed … wrong date for the dinner? No problem … sweet-talk the waiter into getting her a table, while Arnav looks on indulgently with a ‘can’t believe she can get away with this’ look – similar to his look in the kerosene-for-water switch … only Khushi can do this!

Doesn’t understand the menu? No problem … order by number … living so many years in the Far East, we still order from pictures in Chinese menu cards :) and by number too.:)

A contrast with Payal, who ran away at first mishap … Khushi will not give up.

And Arnav goes along with her … lets her order for both of them (I vaguely remember a dinner with La where he ordered for both of them without consulting La) … he knows she won’t like the bland Italian food, so he spices it up to her taste.

Sniper couple enter, get a table in an alcove, and can be safely ignored for the time being. :))

And he finally asks her what she’s up to … and she tells him … she’s trying to become like him.

Trying to be a part of his world, a world which is so different from hers. But if he can set his beliefs aside to do things that make her happy, if he can enter temples, and take part in all the wedding rasams which are so important to her, then she can do the same, she can do things foreign to her nature, because they’re what he likes, what he’s used to. If he can reach out to her, she wants to reach out to him.

Sniper couple … Anjali the non-confrontationist … wants Shyam to come for the godh-bharayi, but will Arnav be there? Because it’s Khushi’s mehndi as well. And Dadi promised Shyam would come, but how? Anjali as usual, happy that someone is there to fight her battles for her, because she can’t fight. She can only cry and cling and moan, she can’t take a stand. Not alone.

When Arnav wanted La in the house, Nani opposed, Anjali had support, so she could voice her opposition. But when Arnav insisted, Anjali found middle ground between Nani and Arnav, because she didn’t want him to leave the house, and allowed La into the house. Again when Arnav married Khushi, Nani opposed vehemently, Anjali had support … but when Arnav threatened to leave with Khushi, Anjali found middle ground and repeated some of the rasams to allow Arnav Khushi into the house. Now Anjali wants Shyam, Arnav will oppose, but this time, so will Nani, Anjali’s solid support … so Anjali was quiet till now. Now she has Dadi. But will she threaten to walk out? Don’t think she has the guts … but she might do that, and that might be what forces Arnav to allow Shyam back into the house …

Dream Couple again :) - Arnav-Khushi continue their date happily, Arnav has to explain that the food portions here are small, Khushi is dismayed because she doesn’t like the food, he spices it up for her and she’s upset that he did more for her, whereas today she wanted to do everything for him the way he liked it …

And Arnav makes his point … he asks her to drink wine. Khushi is dismayed again, but he wants her to … so she bites the bullet and drinks. As he watches … she will really do anything for him …
Didn’t get why Khushi acted drunk when she wasn’t … that was stupid direction …:(

But the nicest part of the episode … as she realizes this wasn’t wine at all, and Arnav tells her that he doesn’t want her to change into ASR.

Khushi wanted to do it for him … because he was doing so much for her …

And he asks her … do you want me to change?

She shakes her head … no. she already told him that once … she loves him as he is, she doesn’t want him to change, she’s there for him as he is.

And he’s the same … he’s going through all the rituals, not because he believes in them, but because even though he personally doesn’t, he has no problem with them per se, and so he happily does them all for her. After all, he sees the rituals in his family all the time, they are not unfamiliar for him. But for her, his way of life is different, she has no idea about it … she did it only for him, even though she had no idea about it all.

And that’s what he loved … he loves her the way she is too … he doesn’t want to change her either.

I would love a follow up to this later, maybe after marriage, when she tells him, I know this is your world, and I want to be a part of it for you … so I want to learn. I don’t want to embarrass you in front of your friends and colleagues, and there is no harm in learning new ways, as long as you keep your traditions and values intact. So I want to learn … try different foods, learn how to eat with knife and fork, even dress in modern clothes, while staying within my boundaries.
That would truly be Nayi Soch !

The last champagne part was superfluous … absolutely did NOT like the comic music at the start … although I completely empathized with the champagne popping … from personal experience :) And I did like Arnav cheering up Khushi when she felt bad that everything went wrong … although the teasing was totally BS! Wish they had lingered on that, and gone into some more small talk and sweet moments, rather than switch to Sniper couple. So Dream Couple wind up their date happily, with Arnav paying the bill, and both leaving together in perfect accord with each other … an evening well spent … a mental tuning … further acceptance and strengthening of their bond.

While Sniper Couple on the other hand go through mental trauma at danger of being found out, Shyam hiding under table, and Anjali turning her back quickly and getting all heran pareshan at the thought of being seen with her hubby by her brother … and their evening winds up quickly as she insists she has to leave before her brother finds her out. Even though Shyam tries to calm her down, but Anjali is too upset and panicky.
Anjali cannot afford to antagonize Arnav … nor does she want to. Not even for Shyam. Or maybe - especially not for Shyam. Maybe Anjali does know in her heart of hearts that estrangement from Arnav will not be good for her … she is attractive to Shyam only as long as she has Arnav’s support, and more importantly, his money.

Find it interesting that Shyam gives gift to Anjali for his own daughter, and Anjali needs to thank him. Shyam has to always keep making gestures of love, because the feelings are absent, he has to over-compensate. And Anjali has to over-compensate in her turn … her appreciation, her gratitude, her joy … that he is thinking of their child. As though each needs to constantly prove to the other how much they love and are loved …

Precap - Garima enters RM … has she finally plucked up the courage to meet Dadi?
Anjal looked like a Christmas tree … and an over-loaded, extremely gaudy one at that. So did Manorama.

Khushi’s choli is totally sexy … and there has been mention of fairy lights more than once recently … Payal said Khushi has this propensity to get entangled in them, and Akash and NK are making sure there are lots of fairy lights. Fortunately I don’t have too long to wait for the next episode.

Thoughts:

What worked for me … the date – ArHi has been characterized by conflict, and for the first time in their relationship, there is no conflict whatsoever. So this is a very new, very different phase of life for them both. Differences are there in the nature of the worlds they come from,in their backgrounds, and that was highlighted in the date. But the similarities overcome those differences, because for both, their nature is now to do things for the other, to go out on a limb for the other …

Arnav has no difficulty, or not much, in assimilating into Khushi’s world, because he has seen where she comes from, and his own world has similarities … the emphasis on family, on values, on traditions. Khushi has not till now, seen much of Arnav’s world, but she is very confident, sure of herself, comfortable in her own skin … unlike Payal, she doesn’t get fazed by her circumstances but tries her best to adapt, to assimilate, to learn. And now she’s doing it for Arnav, whom she loves more than anyone else in the world, Arnav, who has done so much for her, who has faced all the opposition from his own family and hers for her, who has made it clear to everyone that she comes first for him. So she will do anything for him … even go against her own ideals, like drinking, just because he wants her to … because she trusts that he will be there for her if she makes a fool of herself, he will be there to sort things out. Finally she has accepted that she doesn’t have to do everything alone, that she has someone of her own. And she’s ready to adapt to her new world … to his world … for him.

They could have made the date mushy and cheesy, but that would be very un-Arhi like. So they made it comic. Things going wrong – very Khushi-like … Arnav sorting things out … very Arnav-like, he has always been there for her, after all. Situations were pretty true to life … a champagne cork popping in the wrong place is so typical!
My crib :( - they could have made it less comic though, especially the music. Music bugged me big time at many points. And I absolutely did NOT see the need for Khushi to act drunk before she realized it was kala khatta she was drinking – that was a horrendous and completely brainless idea, whoever thought of that should be shot! X(

Khushi can’t become sophisticated overnight – this is just the start of her journey, and it will be nice if they actually show that journey, especially as Sanaya is actually very sophisticated in real life, and would be completely breath-taking at the end point, once she reaches it – as the true Mrs Arnav Singh Raizada.

Anjali – don’t have time to write much, agree with Su on some points, agree with Rekha, Mads, Opti and others on others … Anjali is damaged, she is NOT normal. So I don’t expect normal reactions from her, I don’t try to justify or explain them, because there IS no explanation. Anjali avoids conflicts … completely. And she cannot stand and fight for herself, she needs a crutch always. Till date most of her conflicts have been with Arnav, and she had Nani whenever there was a conflict with Arnav – be it La, be it the sudden wedding with Khushi. The only time she was alone in a conflict, it was with Mami over Payal, and she only had Akash as support … which is worse than useless, so she never fought with Mami over Payal. Never ever. Only when Arnav entered the picture, did Payash sort out, and then Nani was as happy with Payal as Anjali and Arnav, so Anjali could show her support openly.

Now the conflict was over Shyam, with Nani and Arnav on the same side. So Anjali did not fight. She just moped and cried and did things on the sly. Because she cannot go against Nani and Arnav, especially Arnav. The way she encouraged Akash to meet Payal, but said nothing in front of Mami, swept the Payal matter under the carpet, she did the same here … she encouraged Shyam to meet her, she enjoyed the feeling of being loved and cherished, but not at the expense of her relationship with Arnav. The only time she did oppose Arnav was when the storm first broke, when she refused to call him Chotey, when she threw him out of her room.  After that, she went out of her way to win him back … the abortion drama, the plea to Chotey to restore her world … but she got no support from anyone else to bring Shyam back … not from Arnav, not from Nani … Nani avoided her question on who is right or wrong … Nani knew very well what Anjali wanted to hear, because Anjali at that point said, I want a son like his father … Nani’s silence was her answer. Even Mami, who was bitter towards Khushi, never once said to throw Khushi out and bring Shyam back. Anjali knows she is alone in this one. Hence no confrontation, avoid conflict, and her extreme fear of being caught by Arnav … she cannot stand for a minute without Arnav. But her need to be loved is too strong, her need for her perfect world is too strong, and Shyam plays her like an expert … Yet he also knows she will not go against Arnav without support … he of course is useless as support, besides, he doesn’t want conflict between brother-sister unless he’s sure sister will win. So he knows Anjali needs stronger support to fight her brother for him … and he gets Dadi as support.

But will even Dadi be enough? Because Arnav can go against Dadi also … Arnav will not give up Khushi for anything or anyone. Definitely not for Dadi, … if he did not give up Khushi for Anjali, Dadi has no chance.

The only thing Shyam can do now is try to get back into RM somehow … and again, try to stall the ArHi wedding. Though I don’t know if that will be of any use … Arnav is so determined that the Arhi wedding will get done by hook or by crook. The only thing Shyam might do is to stall the SR. Again, what that will achieve, remains to be seen … and also whether he will be able to create a rift between ArHi at any point. Living outside RM, he cannot … hence his need to get back inside.

Weekly Shiddats ...

One big SHIDDAT from all of us here ... Sandy, please let us know how you are and what is happening with you! Just drop a line to tell us everything is fine or otherwise ... we're all worrying for you. Take care, and *HUGS* from all of us :) >:D<

More shiddats ... better wardrobe for Sanaya :)
A really good romantic ArHi date ... and Sniper Couple scrambling for cover.

Someone mentioned that Shyam will make sure that the news of ArHi's date gets back to Dadi ... yes, am sure he will, but hope Arnav will remind her that they are supposed to stop meeting only after 'haldi', which has not yet happened ...

Have a feeling that like Shyam and his scorpion were playing hide and seek throughout the sangeet of Payash, Garima and Dadi are going to play hide and seek till the haldi or the godh bharayi ... whichever comes first. But I don't see the wedding getting cancelled as of now ... so wonder what the Garima-Dadi confrontation will achieve, if anything.

I really want Arnav to use his brains for once, realise that Dadi will stop at nothing to sabotage the wedding, and do a quick registered marriage with Khushi at court ... thus legalizing their marriage once and for all. All the preparations for the pheras can go on simultaneously ... all marriages need to be registered in India these days, so he can claim that he wanted to complete the legal formalities, the ritualistic ones are Dadi and Nani's department, the legal and official ones are his. And if he can add that he wanted to do so because his wife is now his legal heir, so much the better ... let Snakewa get another big jhatka that his plans have failed yet again.

Rest ... am happy with the way the tracks are playing out, but Shiddat ... as always ... more romantic fun moments between Arnav and Khushi ... let Shyali and Dadirima nautanki take up half the episode, no more ... and we get unadulterated Arhi for half of every episode.

24/8 - Epi 327 ... Treachery From Within

 Friday 24th August

Treachery from within ... so Dadi had been sent by Shyam after all ... not anonymously, but with pretty little lies and smooth talking ... something Shyam is so good at. No wonder Dadi is so dead set against Khushi ... It was all a big misunderstanding ... how exactly did Shyam manage to convince Dadi that his getting engaged to Khushi was a misunderstanding? Of course - he didn't ... he repeated the same story he told Anjali .. Khushi tried to trap him first, failed, and then trapped Arnav in her web ...
Dadi is a pretty stupid woman, I must say ... believing her unknown damaadji over her own grandson and her childhood best friend. Seems to run in the family ... her granddaughter is the world's most gullible, brainless fool. And Anjali continues to dig her own grave deeper and deeper, lying to more and more people at every step ... NK joins the list today ...
And Shyam is just using Dadi, waiting for the big day. Now what is he up to?
And why the heck does Dadi want Shyam back in the house ... if she's so convinced of his innocence, she should tell Anjali to stop staying in her maayka and go off with her husband to her own sasural ... why is Anjali continuing to sponge off her brother like a parasite?  Itna hi pyaar hai toh go live with your KP ... and his empty pockets!
The treacherous trio ... a gullible duo entrapped firmly in the net of the smooth-talking silver-tongued snake ... plotting to break an alliance which was ordained by Devi Maiyya herself ... will Shyam succeed?

I do feel his plans will all come to nothing :) Seeing as he is up against Arnav, Khushi and Devi Maiyya all firmly allied together ... Devi Maiyya even gets Mother Nature to do her bidding ... so trains to Lucknow are all cancelled, and there is no escape for Garima. Much to Khushi and Buaji's delight and Garima's worry ...another set of family secrets here, another set of lies, but here for a different reason, for an unselfish cause, a mother worrying that her own mistakes might darken the future of both her her adopted daughters ... neither one her own child, but both as dear to her as her own.

Cute conversation between Khushi and Payal, devrani-jethani :) ... as one set of siblings drifts apart, another set bonds even more closely, and Devi Maiyya's army gets aligned into position.
Khushi did tell Payal about SG leaving ... but didn't actually get round to telling her their plan got cancelled. And Khushi consoles Garima about her cancelled trip ... telling her that Devi Maiyya is asking Garima to stay.

And the main bond gets stronger and stronger ... love, trust, understanding, being there for each other ... Khushi gets ready to do something for Arnav, calls him to meet her, an order issued 'haq se' ... and reinforced almost immediately with a more hesitant request ... 'you will come, won't you?' :) ... not fully sure of her position yet, not completely ... but getting there ...
Of course he will ...he loses no time to reassure her of her status in his life ... right up there on top with his Di ...
Another set of sibling bonds strengthening, this one with the ever-faithful NK ... more power to the DM army ...

Di is going to tumble from that pedestal ... hopefully pretty soon ;) ... her lies are piling up and digging at the foundation of that pedestal ...
And hopefully soon Khushi will be the sole Queen of his life. And when the betrayal comes from the person he loved the most almost all his life, he's going to need Khushi to help pick up the pieces ...

Precap ... Deadly Duo in Black ... :"> Arnav took pains to settle into her world, now Khushi reaching out to share his world ... :) An Equal Music
And we'd better get a nice date on Monday, with soft music, dancing, romance ... and the conniving Sniper Couple frantically trying to stay out of sight of the lovebirds ... let their date be blown to smithereens, while our gorgeous pair romance :)

23/8 - Epi 326 ... A Mother's Heart

Thursday 23rd August

You don't have to give birth to a child to feel a mother's pain, a mother's love, a mother's heart.

And every mother was once a young girl who laughed, loved and made mistakes ... but when those mistakes threaten to rebound on her child, it's the mother's heart which bleeds the most.

Another name for mother ... sacrifice. For a mother, her child always comes first.
Who is the mother here? The one who is waiting to give birth to her child, her own flesh and blood? Eating tainted medicines (unknowingly maybe) ... lying about her physical well-being to her dear ones, who worry about her constantly?

Or the woman who has looked after an orphan child as her own, and another motherless child equally too? Not having given birth to either, yet always putting their lives, their happiness ahead of her own? Garima put Payal's happiness ahead of Khushi's once ... her step-daughter, unrelated by blood, ahead of her own blood, for Khushi is her own niece. And now she is desperate that her past, her 'mistake' should not come forward and spoil her daughter's present and future. Even if she has to lie again, has to miss the important function of that daughter's life, break her daughter's heart as well as her own ... but to ensure that girl's happiness.

22/8 - Epi 325 ... Divine Intervention

Wednesday 22nd August

Have not watched episode yet ... my internet connection at the hotel sucks ... so slow!!! :(
Title given from the updates :)

Making new post for Thursday's episode as well, as I have a busy day tomorrow and am very jet-lagged. Continue the discussions here today, and please switch to the new post only after the episode tomorrow, or in case the discussions cross 200 comments ... I will log in some time during the day to check and update posts accordingly.

21/8 - Epi 324 ... Hide and Seek

Tuesday 21st August

Arnav still wants to kiss his girl ... but a shadow plays hide and seek and spoils her mood ... :(

Pill popping Di ... white kurta plays hide and seek and switches the tablets.
So the white kurta chose the moment yesterday to enter when the dhol players entered ...
Task done, tablets switched, white kurta returns to base camp and continues to watch the drama unfold.

Garima continues to play hide and seek with Dadi, but Arnav doesn't play fair ... everything has to be perfect for the wedding, and Khushi wants her Amma to be present. And these days, for Arnav Singh Raizada, what Khushi wants, Khushi gets :)
So a nurse comes to babysit Shashi babu ... and Garima has to join in the festivities and rasams from tomorrow, much to her dismay. And she decides the game of hide and seek is over ... she has to tell Khushi the truth tomorrow. About her past.

Night phone call ... Shiddat realised :) cheesy and cute ... the way two people madly in love talk at night ... especially the last part, she lying down in bed and continuing the conversation ... he sitting back in lounger and indulging her, forgetting about his work for the moment :">
Mention of Lucknow here ...

Arnav continues his work ... he got sidetracked last night ;) ... and sees large unexplained amounts on Di's bills ... finally some alarm bells ring ... Di has been spending rather large amounts of money lately. So Di's credit card is apparently lost ... no problem, he will cancel it.
Did he notice what the bill was for?
So not only is Di the ultimate sponger, she happily encourages her KP to keep sponging off her beloved brother as well ... and then she wonders why her poor dear KP was thrown out! What a parasite couple!
Di continues her lies ... not only is her card 'lost', but now she's off to meet a friend ... ever-loving Di pulling wool firmly over unsuspecting doting brother's eyes ... he is going to be so shattered when he discovers this ...

Morning ... Payal in charge of the decorations, as RM gets ready for the wedding ... more mention of the past and Khushi entangling herself in lights ... wish Arnav had overheard this one :">

Arnav off to the temple ... not to pray, as he clarifies, but to meet Khushi. Family is shell-shocked at this complete volte face. :))
Dadi seizes the opportunity to try to meet the elusive Garima ... so entire family is off for temple darshan. Except for Anjali ... who skips temple visit to meet a friend.

Khushi gets another new outfit ... very pretty sunny yellow one with nice work on the sleeves and purple chunni. Me likes :)

Dadi trying to catch a glimpse of Garima ... until an earth-shattering event occurs ... Arnav enters the temple.
SN - why such shock - he's done this a few times before ... Teej last year was one example.
So will Garima escape yet again?
And will she tell Khushi her story?

20/8 - Epi 323 ... Badle Badle se Aaj Mere Huzoor Lagte Hain

Monday 20th August

Some major dhamaka is coming ... when we get such ArHilicious episodes, it means that things are going to blow up soon :(
Oh well, till then, enjoy the ride :)

Pyaar insaan ko badal deta hai  ... never was this so true as in the case of one hardened cynic named Arnav Singh Raizada, who never believed in love ... till he fell in love :">

And now his nearest and dearest can't recognise him ... the man who never believed in rituals, stays up all night googling to learn about each one ... at least, I presume that's where he got his new found knowledge, considering the riti rivaaz queens of the family, Di and Dadi, along with everyone else, were dumbfounded at this development :))

In between googling riti rivaaz, he also finds time to gaze wistfully at the moon, and at his empty bed, remember flashbacks of significant moments and tie them back to rituals, gaze lovingly at his beautiful bride as she dances happily (reminded me of the Holi moments) ... allows, no, make that requests Buaji to tie Raksha dhaga ... leaving no stone unturned, no rite unperformed ... making sure this bond is irreversibly tied :"> the tighter the better, the more rites, the stronger the bond ... :">

And of course, last but not least, wastes no time in dragging above beautiful bride away from the crowds to steal a few romantic moments alone with her ... in another DDLJ rip-off moment :"> (I have to say, this one came close to the original, although SRK-Kajol are still unmatched for me) ... and steals a few kisses from very willing bride ... who's only worried that someone will interrupt the moment ... and she helpfully lists all the KMH's they have had till date ... Di (the biggest), Buaji, Dadi and the worst culprit ... Aman's phone :))
Khushi, you forgot HP :))

Bad thing ... she kind of ruined the romantic moment :))
Good thing - she warned Arnav what might happen on SR, so hopefully he will make sure, Di, Dadi, Nani, Buaji, HP, Lakshmi ... and the rest are nowhere around ... heck, if he's got any sense, he will take Khushi off to a deserted island for a few months after marriage :) :">
Another good thing - she accepted she was Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada :):"> Loved that last shared smile :"> :"> :">

More good things in the episode ... long list today :)
Loved that Arnav heard that Khushi defended him to Garima, heard Buaji saying how much Khushi loves him, that she got slapped defending him ...
Loved that he overheard Buaji telling Anjali about raksha dhaga, Anjali helpless that he wouldn't allow it, Buaji telling Khushi, Khushi telling Buaji not to bother him, after all he loves the family so much ...
Loved the midnight scene, Khushi replacing Salman Khan with Arnav's picture :"> and remembering him ... Arnav looking at the other side of the bed and missing her ... :"> Khushi saying smile now, I am yours, and Arnav smiling ...

Loved the flashback of the bandagement ... Arnav remembering it, telling her that she was already his, and Khushi accepting it :">

The other characters -
Akash spoke up!:))  Did he really tell Shashi babu not to come, or was that an attempt to grow a backbone and defend his wife's family after watching Bhai's sterling performance? :)
Dadi didn't create a ruckus, but she did make some pithy comments, with justification too ... how can a girl's parents stay away from her roka? So did Garima make the excuse to Akash or did Akash make it up himself?
Mami continues to be annoying ... hasn't she realized that one is rude to Arnav Sigh Raizada's wife at one's own peril?
The return of the Creepwa ... what medication is he giving Anjali?

*edited*
Quick edit ... I need to pack :))

Continuation of Friday's scene left me a little disappointed ... so what exactly did Arnav drag Khushi into the bedroom for? To tell her that she was his already? Or just to annoy Dadi and make his point that he would follow his own way regardless? Setting up for the change of heart to follow ...
And also for her change of heart ... her acknowledging that she is his already, so do all these rituals really matter? Not between them ... they're only for the world.

Khushi had some cute one-liners today ... 'bolna kya seekh liya ... hum hi ko chup kara dete hain aaj kal ...' sweetie, he could always shut you up, actually ... and you him ... that's why you're such a great combination.

Buaji Anjali talk ... which Arnav overhears ... Buaji wants to tie a raksha dhaga on Arnav, Anjali apologises that he doesn't believe in all this, Buaji accepts gracefully, although a little disappointed ... yes, she understands his point of view, and won't force him ...

R family leave, with some updates from NK ... 'kal dhokhe mein milenge ..' :))

Buaji hugs Khushi ... and talks again about the raksha dhaga ... again Khushi defends his point of view ... 'he loves you and respects you, isn't that enough? And if he doesn't believe in all this, we shouldn't force him, should we?'

And Buaji teases her ... 'yes, of course we shouldn't ... after all, he's a little sanki ... and who is defending him here ... our very own maha Sanka Devi! The first time you defended him, you got a slap from Amma ... yet again, you're defending him?'
And a little laad-pyaar vaala teasing ... 'you love him very much, don't you?' Parents are always so happy to see their daughter happy with her husband ...

And Arnav overhears again ... Khushi defending his beliefs or lack of them, and his right to those beliefs ... and hears the reason Garima slapped her ... again because she was defending him for that forced marriage without any riti rivaaz ...
They should have included a flashback of the first slap from Garima after the wedding ...

So Khushi, the firm believer in riti rivaaz, has accepted her husband fully, including his lack of beliefs in the rituals she holds so dear.
And Arnav realizes that finally ... that she's been there for him all the time for so long ... So why can't he accept her fully, including her faith and her beliefs ... after all, what does it really cost him?

And here comes the change in Arnav ... from going along unwillingly with all the rituals because they were forced onto him, he never believed in them, he changes to a willing participant, ready to go the whole way, not because his Dadi or anyone else wants it, but because Khushi believes in them, believed in her dream wedding ... and now he will give it to her ... willingly ... for her sake.

Arnav comes back for his phone ... Khushi hands it to him ... a soft, very serious 'thank you' ... and she looks at him wondering a little ... the 'thank you' was too serious just for a forgotten phone ... as is the look he gives her ...
'Thank you for being there for me ... for understanding me ... for accepting me as I am ... for loving me as I am ...thank you for being you ...'

'Bye' ... her attempt to fit in with his world ... not a namaste or 'milte hain' this time ... her turn to reach out and meet him halfway ...
'Bye ...'

Garima returns, still in panic mode ... Buaji is annoyed and scolding, Khushi is concerned ... Garima just wants to know if everything went off properly ...
And Khushi and Buaji both notice that Garima is uncharacteristically flustered and worried about something ...

Night ... Arnav in bed, thinking about Khushi, looking at the empty side of the bed next to him ... her side ... starts to call her, decides against it, because she might be asleep ... in her usual taekwondo pose :)
But she's not ... she's giving up her first love for her last ;) ... out goes Sallu bhai, in comes Arnav Singh Raizada, her dream prince, her rajkumar ... now he is the only one who will figure in her dreams ... and Khushi smiles happily and a little shyly ... and indulges in some dreaming of her own ... as she looks at the moon and remembers her prince ...
Some telepathic communication via lunar satellite ... :"> Love the photography here, Khushi in her night dress through that blue tinted lens, looked absolutely beautiful (go easy on the night make up though, Sanaya!) as she gazes softly, wistfully at the moon ... and on the other end, so does Arnav, again looking so good through the blue tinted lens ... identical expressions of love, wistfulness, longing, yearning in their eyes ...

And Khushi addresses her scowling rajkumar again ... 'you can smile now at least ... you've won, I'll be yours very soon ... come on, smile!'
And of course he does :)

We could have had a small night phone conversation here ... both in bed, whispering to each other ... I just called to say 'good night, love you ...'
What's the rush?!!!! :(

Roka starts ... Sanaya looking gorgeous, and the lehnga colors actually looked good together ... liked the lehnga border, although the lehnga itself was very light ... loved her makeup with the silvery green underlining her eyes ... :">
Dadi and Mami welcoming the guests? Why not Nani? And how exactly are the families going to explain this repeat roka and haldi and mehndi and wedding ceremony when Khushi has already been publicly announced and accepted as Raizada bahu six months ago? Are they going to give an excuse that it's being done for Dadi's benefit as she wasn't here for the ceremony and the ceremony was rushed as it was, so they're doing a repeat? Whatever it is, there should be some explanation given ... logicwa is completely on hold here!!!

Bauji tries to explain Garima's absence ... Dadi is not interested, she seems unsurprised, expecting an excuse ... probably this confirms her suspicion that Garima is the Garima she thinks she is ... hence no surprise at her absence. And Buaji is annoyed with Garima, she should have come ... (a voiceover again ... added at the last minute?)

Again Khushi should have touched Dadi's feet ... if Arnav touches Buaji's and so do Payash, why is Khushi not doing so? Scared of rejection again?

NKism ... roktok nahin, roka ...:)
And Anjali, with newly grown baby bump, is ready for the rasam to start ... Arnav takes Khushi's hand and leads her to the stage ... Payash follow, also hand in hand ... chota bhai is finally following the right things from his bada ;)

And Arnav shows off his newly googled knowledge on rasam sambhar :)) ... now that he's decided he's doing this wholeheartedly, he's going the whole way ... bride stands on right, Di does her tika, Buaji does his, and Buaji can tie the raksha dhaga too, he doesn't mind at all ... if we're following rasams, might as well do them all ... this time they're going to follow all the rasams to the T ...
Much to Di's surprise, and Khushi's delight ... and everyone else's shock ... Dadi is trying to decide whether she's happy he's following all the rasams, or upset that he didn't do so on her say so, but only to please his wife ... Buaji is delighted and touched that he will tie the dhaga ...
Khushi can't believe it ... 'you'll tie the raksha dhaga?!'
'If we're doing everything according to rasams, why leave this one out?'

She still can't believe it ... so he pinches her ... and they share a smile ... :">
Watched by Creepwa :(
X(

Ring exchange next ... and Arnav reminds her 'we've done this one before already ... remember I tied a bandage on this finger once?'
And the temple bandagement flashback ... when they had sworn never to see each others' faces again ...
'So technically, you are already mine ...'
'Since then ...' with a soft radiant smile ...
As both start to accept what Devi Maiyya has been trying to tell them for ages ... they were always meant for each other ... however hard they tried to fight it ...
Hopefully by the end of all the rasams and the accompanying flashbacks, it will be crystal clear to both that Devi Maiyya had decided their fate a long time back :)

And the dhols start ... amd VLR makes his entry to the appropriate lyrics ... 'dekho aaye, aaye chor ...'

I have to say this PH chooses its songs well and completely according to the lyrics ... this is probably the least well known song of Mohabbatein ... I didn't even remember the song or the movie ... so I heard the lyrics properly and they were picturized perfectly ... every time the 'aaye chor' line came, it focussed on Shyam, and the rest, with the lively dhol beats was a great background song for a festive occasion, without being intrusive in the least ... the kind of song people would dance to at a real sangeet ...
And the rest of the lyrics were very appropriately picturized ...
'pairon mein bandhan hai, payal ne machaya shor
Sab darvaaze kar lo band, dekho aaye aaye chor
Pairon mein bandhan hai

Tod de saare bandhan ko, machne de payal ka shor
Dil ke sab darvaaze khol ... as Arnav and Khushi join the dancing family, Arnav's face split in a wide grin, looking most un-Arnavlike! ... yes, he's broken all the bonds of the past which were holding his heart caged, now he's opened the doors of his heart and let Khushi in ...
Khushi's song from the previous sangeet ...
aathon peher dil pe hain taale ... his heart is locked, no one can enter it ...

Today ...
Tod de saare bandhan ko, machne de payal ka shor
Dil ke sab darvaaze khol ... all those locks broken open, his heart is free to love ...

Arnav sees his Di smiling, passing out sweets ... and his face shows momentary worry ... he knows she has been through a lot ... but today she is happy, sharing his happiness ...
then he looks at Khushi dancing happily, the girl who has brought color, love and laughter into his life, who has made him live again ...
'Jinhe milna hai kuch bhi ho, kabhi mil jaate hain
Dilon ke phool to pathjhad mein bhi khil jaate hain ...
Zamaana doston dil ko deewana kehta hai
Deewana dil zamaane ko deewana kehta hai ...

Le main saiyyan aa gayi saari duniya chhod ke
Tera bandhan baandh liya, saare bandhan todh ke ...
She broke ties with the rest of her world because of him, she became an orphan again because of him, yet she didn't betray him, kept the secret of the forced marriage from everyone else, and suffered for it ... today he knows what she did for him, what she went through for him ...

Ek dooje se jud jaayein, aa hum dono udh jaayein ...
Jaise sang patang aur dor ...
And today he's ready to return the favour, read to hold her hand and fly away with her away from everyone else ... she is his world, and if they are together, he needs nothing else, he is complete, his world is complete ...
And he does exactly that ... holds her hand, and takes her away ... to their own private world, the poolside ... as the rest of the family continue the celebrations :) ... and one chor continues his chori :(

Buaji tries to placate Dadi, but Dadi maroes one more snide remark about the absence of Khushi's parents ... after all, they're not her real parents ... Akash bitwa, taking leaf out of older brother's book, to the rescue ... =D>

ArHi ... Reprise of Diwali? Back to poolside, back against the wall ... Khushi protests feebly ... 'what are you doing ...?'
'I'm looking at you ...'
'Why?'
Because she's looking drop dead gorgeous and he can't take his eyes off her, because she's officially his fiance/wife now and he has the right ... and because another of those tiresome rasams is coming up and he won't be able to see her for a day or so ... and now he's planning to do it right, so he actually will not see her ... so he's taking a good look at her, to last out those couple of days ...
And she doesn't mind a bit ... not really ... although with their record of KMH's ...
'Arnavji ... voh ... Di aa jaayegi ...'
*forehead kiss*
'aane do ...'

'Dadiji aa ja ...' doesn't even manage to complete her words through the breathlessness setting in ...
*cheek kiss*
'aane do ...'

Eyes down, trying to think of what to say ... trying to think, period ... when she's having a major 'saansein ruk jaayengi' moment ... which is not conducive to thinking, only feeling ...
'Buaji ...' she gets even less words out this time ...
*cheek kiss again - other cheek*
'aane do ...' this was the softest, huskiest one yet ...

A quick look up at him and down again away from the heat in his eyes ... a heat reflected in the red of her cheeks ... and the acceptance of what's happening here between them ... something that started almost a year ago ... then in unconscious, unwilling attraction ... now in very conscious, very willing attraction, and love ... and closing her eyes in anticipation ...

'Amanji ka phone aa gaya toh ...?' reminder of that last poolside interruption ... you won't stop even if that happens? :)) The biggest KMH of all :))
'aane do ...' not really listening, the world could come to an end right now, and it wouldn't matter ...
Hang on a second ... what did she just say?! :))
'What?!'
And he actually stops and looks at her in disbelief, here he's lost in the moment, and this girl is thinking of Aman and his phone calls ...
'Aman will call now?'

She was just babbling without thinking in nervousness ... difficult to think when you're having trouble breathing ... she tries to put some sense to the nonsense she just said ... 'yes, he might call you if there was some urgent work ...' he's done it before, and interrupted things earlier, it wasn't that silly a thing to say ... :))
Apparently it was ... as he stares at her incredulously ... and then in amusement ... :)
'Khushi, you need to write a book ... 100 ways to spoil a romantic moment ... by Khushi Kumari Gupta ...'
She completes it ...'Singh Raizada ...' You said it, I am yours already ... with a soft loving smile ... a shared smile ... they know they belong to each other, with the love comes also the smiling, the teasing, the sharing of small, very private jokes that only a couple share ...
Yesterday when he called her KKGSR, she objected, the ceremonies were not yet complete, she didn't have the right to call herself his wife ... but today, she accepts it happily ... he's right, the rituals are for the world, for them they are husband and wife ...

Thoughts:
When this whole remarriage thing started, I was annoyed, because I wanted Arnav to go through all the rasams for Khushi's sake, because she wanted them, believed in them ... not because of society or the world or Dadi ...

And today I am happy ... I have to say, the cv's have delivered ... slowly and steadily building up the change, from an unwilling participant going through the motions, to someone who's doing this willingly, for the sake of his bride, knowing that it means a lot to her, and also that she might have forgone these things for his sake, but then she was the one who suffered, while he, being a man, got off scotfree. She believed in these rituals, she gave them all up six months ago because of him and the forced marriage, and she was the one who suffered then, and suffered again when the truth came out ... yet she still stands by him, defends him, covers for him. So going through all these ceremonies is such a very small thing he can do for her, it means so much to her, it brings such a big smile on her face, restores her honor and her dignity. And he will do it willingly, lovingly and with all his heart ... not bother to skirt the rules like he did for the shagun, but follow them all ... just for her. For his Khushi. Not just because Khushi wants to do them ... but because he wants to do them ... for her.

Major logicwa loopholes still bothering me ... what is the rush???!!!
Why are loopholes in the story being glossed over? The wedding rasams will not be as stretched as they were for Payash, because lots of ArHi was happening during the Payash wedding, which took up much more time that Payash actually did. Understandable.
But lots of things are happening here too, which are being ignored. And the story telling suffers in the process.
Why are Buaji and Garima not asking even once about Shyam? Garima is excused, she has enough troubles of her own, but why not a small conversation between Buaji and Khushi, when Khushi tells her briefly that Shyam's truth is out, so he has been thrown out of RM, but not to mention this in front of anyone, especially not Anjali. Bas, that's all that's required.
Another small conversation between Payal and Garima, Garima making an excuse for not coming to the roka, Akash telling Payal not to worry, he will manage Dadi ...
What is the reason given for the repeat marriage to the family and friends of the Raizadas and Guptas? After all, Khushi had an official munh dikhayi, the entire AR office knows her as KKGSR, the entire Lakshmi Nagar knows her as KKGSR ... so the re-marriage has to have a reason for society, as it is being done ostensibly for society. Otherwise, the sensible thing to have done was for both families to go quietly to the temple and have a small private temple re-marriage with just the wedding ceremony and pheras. No real need for the roka, sangeet, mehndi, haldi etc ...

And a final crib, as we can never have enough of ArHi ... :)
Why not stretch the night scene between ArHi? A married couple deeply, madly in love, separated for a few days, we got a couple of cute phone conversations, which made them look and sound so natural ... we need more!

Am ignoring the precap ... ;) except to say, VLR Creepwa trying to make sure Rani Sahiba doesn't go into labour till the day of the wedding? Or better still, the wedding night?
