I always loved Sajan and their phone conversations. Living proof that it's not physical closeness that makes love scenes. It's mental closeness, a closeness of minds, hearts and the spirit. And the cv's definitely feel the same way about Sajan ... their phone conversations have been one of the highlights of their story.
So another one. After yesterday's episode, when Samrat for the first time, walked away from Gunjan, his playful, teasing mask dropped in his worry whether he was doing the right thing or not, for her, for her happiness, which is the only thing which matters to him. Is his coming close to her giving her more pain? That's not what he wanted - he wanted her to be happy again, to learn to live life with her loss, not to give her more sorrow. So he walked away from her yesterday. For the first time. Leaving her lost in thought ... because he dropped his mask, and she was confused at the pain on the face behind it. Why was he behaving so differently? She had let down her guard, given way to her emotions, because she could ... she had felt that with him, she could ... never with anyone else, only with him she could let her tears flow, even if they were for two fictional characters. For the moment, she forgot the parallels she had seen with their own story ... she had become emotional - had that disturbed him? Had he not liked that? Why had he suddenly changed?
She had to ask him. But what should she ask? Are you all right? He must be all right - stupid question. But still ...
And there, Samrat wonders again and again ... am I doing the right thing? Does she think I'm doing all this only to come closer to her? That I'm deceiving her again? I want her to be happy again, to smile again ... the way she was before the accident, but in trying to make that happen, am I doing something different? Are the memories so painful that she would be better off without them? Should I ask her? Should I talk to her?
Both hesitate. Then both call ... at the same time. Disconnect. Look at their phones in frustration. Then he, always more impulsive, calls again. Just as she is going to ... and he throws her off gear completely.

nahin ... haan, Chashmish ... nahin, Gunjan
For once, he doesn't tease her on that. No mood for teasing. Just reaching out. Are you all right? That's all they want to know ... both of them.
Kya kar rahi ho?
I was going to call you ... no, should she say that? He was already upset with her ...
I was cooking ...
He's surprised. 'At this time? It's 11 pm.'
What is she saying? Why can't she just ask him straight off? Are you all right?
Maybe he shouldn't have called. She doesn't like it.
She starts off again, she will ask him directly. What's there to think so much? 'Samrat ...'
Too late.
"I know, I'm sorry, It's late. We'll talk tomorrow."
'No, wait ... one minute ...'
But he's disconnected. He didn't want to talk to her? Why?

Unspoken fears, unexpressed emotions
29th July
Hospital - MD with doc, doubts about Nups body being mixed with another Nups.
Sajan - after years, and after the bitterness of the last months, they're finally talking normally. And so, the ice broken with the missing pants :), Gunjan finally starts talking to Samrat without the bitterness and hatred ... and tells him the story of Devdas and Paro. Is she telling the DevdasParo story? Or is it their own story? A story of two friends turned lovers, who loved each other madly, passionately, without caring for the world around them, a love as pure as the morning dew ...
And as Samrat listens, Dil Ibadat plays ...

Yes, it's their own story ... how much they loved each other, without boundaries, without reason, two bodies, one soul ... their love was invincible, would triumph over all difficulties.
But that was not to be ... and they were tossed apart by a storm that left them like opposite sides of a river, running together, yet always apart, never to meet ...
and her voice is choked with her tears ... at the thought of them never meeting ...
His hand goes up to hold her, then clenches and falls back ...
and she turns as though she can't bear it any longer, and holds him tight, her tears flowing in the pain of their separation, a pain she can finally express, a pain that he has given her, and he alone can heal ... in a place that is always home - his arms. And as his arms come slowly to hold her, her soul, tortured for the last three years, begins to find peace.
And he says, no, every love story doesn't end like Devdas and Paro's. I will make everything all right again.
And as he speaks, she remembers again, and pushes out of his arms, and stares at him ... no, the ghosts have not been laid to rest yet. But the bitterness and anger is past, it's only the sorrow and the pain that's left, as she runs... but not too far. It's as though she can't put the distance between them again, but she can't yet bridge it either ... what is she to do? And as he sees her struggling, he feels her pain even more deeply ... and he is the cause. He needs to step back, maybe his nearness is deepening her wounds ... he doesn't see that he's cauterising them, laying them bare, so that they can start healing ...
But she does ... dimly, she knows ... as she turns to look back at him ...
He looks away ... no, he will not hurt her again ...
And as she looks away in her turn, he looks back ...
Both so deeply in love, a love that can't be denied for much longer ... a longing that is growing stronger every day ...
She pulls herself together ... I'm going out, Ash and Rohan are rehearsing.
A pause, as she looks away, then back ... will you come?
Yes, the bitterness, the anger is gone ... finally. And the love, the longing is coming back. But the conflict still goes on within ...
He tells her to go, he'll come later. She nods very slightly, and goes.
Sam tries to call Mayank, but what to say to him? Will mayank feel he's hurting Gunjan again?
Mayank starts to tell Sam where he is, Dia stops him, and they both hang up.
RoAsh rehearsing ... Ash getting into the act, wondering why Chandramukhi didn't confess her feelings to Dev, Gunjan tells her maybe Dev wasn't looking for her love, and that would break her heart.
Ro wants a Chunilal-Chandramukhi track ... this guy is cute! Gunjan tells him, no! and asks Samrat to intervene.
But Samrat is lost somewhere. He tells Rohan to listen to Gunjan, and walks away quietly. Leaving Gunjan wondering ...
And now she can't leave him like this. Because she has started seeing him again ... she blinded herself to his feelings all this while, but now she can't anymore. So she follows him ... after all, whenever she goes near him, his entire attention is always focussed on her.
But not this time. And as he walks away again, she is left even more puzzled ... and disturbed.
Mayank was good in the scene when he thinks Nups might be alive. Don't know why he would be so delighted that Nups is coming back, but guess the guy has to follow the script!

Melting fast
28th July
Crap about M remembering Nups, talking to Diya about accident. One hope I had that RP would come back as a new character, maintaining some slight interest in storyline, that too is gone. She's actually coming back as Nups. What story do MN even have left? Settles it ... SG reunion, Monaya leave, MJHT over. Can't sit through MN again with no SG at all.
Good part is, Sajan reunion is firmly on the way, so might as well enjoy that at least.
Gunjan lost in thoughts of Sam as she tries to write lines for the play. And Sam makes his appearance - through the window again. Calls her, disguising his voice, at first she's confused, then she sees him in the mirror and answers back, tells him she'll call her fiance. He promptly falls off the windowsill.
Tells her he came to apologise for what he said about Mayank, but she says he was right.
They arrange to meet the next day at 7am. She's sure he won't make it.
Samrat sets three alarm clocks to make sure he'll wake up. Gunjan reaches college at 6.30 am, to find him already there. Minus pants. And she laughs.
He says, I'll come like this everyday if it will make you laugh like this.
Rest of episode about MD and hospital and Nups. Time to watch MJHT on yt, need to skip all these parts - too boring. And Nups coming back ... uuurrrrggghhh!!!! End of the good part of season 2. Nautanki starts again.

Mayank brings Diya to college to meet Samrat Gunjan. Gunjan sees Mayank with Diya, thinks she's the new girl in M's life. Tells him she's happy for him. Sam overhears - so Gunjan did understand what he was saying ... and she agrees with him, otherwise, she wouldn't be asking Mayank to move on. Another brick just fell. And Gunjan is melting more and more.
Sam sees Diya and brings her to meet Gunjan. The four friends hug.
In Sam's office, Diya asks Mayank and Gunjan what Sam is like as a boss. M all praises, G cross - he's akdu, he's jhootha ... M says he's kunwara, G says automatically 'he's pyaara'. Score another one for Sam.
Random RoAsh dhoti tying scenes. So RoAsh will continue for some time.
Canteen and gang. Diya thinks SG are still together? Laughs at M doing Devdas. M tries to show her, Gunjan doing Paro. Conveniently forgets lines and Sam takes over ... and what I wanted ... SG doing Devdas Paro. Where he asks her why she turned her back on him and didn't look back even once. And she says, I did, but it wasn't you I saw. It was her sister's killer (now that one is gonna become redundant - what a pity this story went for a toss. The whole beauty of the story gone for some crazy psychotic fans, who don't know or understand storylines - and then they complain about CV'S??? Crap!!!).
Diya tries to talk to Gunjan ... it wasn't Sam's fault. Why are you turning your back on your future by living in the past?
And Gunjan says, I'm scared of love now. Because now she's in the same boat as Samrat - she has also lost all those she loved.
And Samrat and she just look at each other. And the love flows between them ... she's finally letting herself acknowledge it.
Rest of episode is all about Nups return ... the boredom starts again.

He asks her, why? What did he say that was so wrong? Does she expect Mayank to live the rest of his life alone? Isn't she being selfish? Tells her she should give life, happiness another chance. Unfortunately the one who knew this the best has gone.
Leaves Gunjan lost in thought.

Bricks falling
23rd July
Samrat as Devdas ... "I love you, I really love you"
And Gunjan stares at him transfixed, because she can see it in his eyes, as he can see in hers ...
Then everyone starts clapping and they come back to reality, Mayank calls on Rohan, among the noise Samrat asks Gunjan, back to his annoying avatar, did you think I was telling you?
Then he says that he's happy she dressed to please him she replies she dresses for her own happiness, he answers back, so your happiness lies in pleasing me?
Rohan acts the clown, Mayank asks Samrat and Gunjan to show him the scene ...
Bangle scene, Paro(Gunjan) struggling to take off her bangle, Devdas(Samrat) comes and helps her, she resists, he holds her hard against him and, his eyes locked with hers, takes off her bangle. And they're lost in each other again, no pretense, no playacting ... the smallest of scenes
And it ends when everyone starts clapping again and they visibly start as they return to reality ... again. another brick falling in that wall.
Rohan goofs up again, Mayank does Devdas this time, about why Paro left him, everyone insists he act Devdas, he agress, calls for break.
SG scene - more nokjhok, she's angry why he can't take anything seriously, he replies she's slow but not stupid, flicks her nose, saying Chashmish. She's angry again ... how dare you?! He promptly replies "I love you" ... She tells him he can't feel the pain of anyone else, he only knows how to give others pain. Sam's expression changes, he tries to hold her hand as she leaves, she shakes it off angrily and he hits it against the table hard.
He's hurt ... and it hurts her too, her expression changes instantly ... are you hurt, is it paining very much ... and he just looks at her and gives a very small smile and a shake of his head - 'no'.
Gunjan looks away ... I'm sorry.
He's back to his smiling mask, she leaves, and he looks after her ... this pain is nothing compared to what you've given me, but I'll bear it all for one smile from you, at least you've started talking to me again, even if in anger.
And later at night, as she stares out her window, she remembers ... she told him, I hate you, he replied "lies, even now when you look out your window, it's me you're waiting for", and as she silently continues looking out, she knows what he said is true ... so true. And this time she's not fighting it, she just keeps looking out, as though waiting ...
Back in his house, he's at his window too, and blows her a kiss ...
Which she feels ... she touches her cheek as though wondering ...
Another brick falls ... that wall is crumbling now ...
M fb's of N, coffee.

Rohan acts the clown, Mayank asks Samrat and Gunjan to show him the scene ...
Bangle scene, Paro(Gunjan) struggling to take off her bangle, Devdas(Samrat) comes and helps her, she resists, he holds her hard against him and, his eyes locked with hers, takes off her bangle. And they're lost in each other again, no pretense, no playacting ... the smallest of scenes
And it ends when everyone starts clapping again and they visibly start as they return to reality ... again. another brick falling in that wall.
Rohan goofs up again, Mayank does Devdas this time, about why Paro left him, everyone insists he act Devdas, he agress, calls for break.
SG scene - more nokjhok, she's angry why he can't take anything seriously, he replies she's slow but not stupid, flicks her nose, saying Chashmish. She's angry again ... how dare you?! He promptly replies "I love you" ... She tells him he can't feel the pain of anyone else, he only knows how to give others pain. Sam's expression changes, he tries to hold her hand as she leaves, she shakes it off angrily and he hits it against the table hard.
He's hurt ... and it hurts her too, her expression changes instantly ... are you hurt, is it paining very much ... and he just looks at her and gives a very small smile and a shake of his head - 'no'.
Gunjan looks away ... I'm sorry.
He's back to his smiling mask, she leaves, and he looks after her ... this pain is nothing compared to what you've given me, but I'll bear it all for one smile from you, at least you've started talking to me again, even if in anger.
And later at night, as she stares out her window, she remembers ... she told him, I hate you, he replied "lies, even now when you look out your window, it's me you're waiting for", and as she silently continues looking out, she knows what he said is true ... so true. And this time she's not fighting it, she just keeps looking out, as though waiting ...
Back in his house, he's at his window too, and blows her a kiss ...
Which she feels ... she touches her cheek as though wondering ...
Another brick falls ... that wall is crumbling now ...

Tu Tu Main Main - hilarious
22nd July
Devdas ... because Gunjan suggested it, Sam has some barbed remarks, just to rile her up. Mohit's expressions were brilliant in this scene ... especially the first part where he sarcastically says, just ti rile her ... "Aaj kal Paro ke pyaar mein kaun barbaad hota hai?" ... and then pauses, expression changing, flashbacks of his worst days, then he looks away, 'cos after that memory, it wasn't such a barb after all ... beautiful expressions, subtle, fleeting, just a glimpse and they're gone, and Sam is back to riling up Gunjan.
Am loving this new Sam - earlier he hated to see Gunjan angry, couldn't handle it ... now he delights in it :) 'Cos he gets under her skin so badly! Love him, hate him ... she can't ignore him! She even tries to walk out of the play, Mayank comes to Sam's rescue with some crapload about the play being for underpriveleged children and not backing out. So Gunjan is stuck ...
And as Sam says ... the journey begins ... the journey to release Gunjan from her self-imposed prison of isolation and grief, to bring Chashmish back again ...
The auditions start ... hilarious! Where did they get these cartoons?
Sam, Gunjan and the pencil ... :D :D :D Gunjan trying to watch the auditions, Sam watching only Gunjan, much to her chagrin. She can't ignore him, he's flirting full time! Ash auditions next, has gripes with long names, Sam agrees with her, Gunjan fires him - so shd we call you Bhavesh? He says - am glad Bhavesh still is somewhere in your heart ...
and she is lost again ... in memories of those days with Bhavesh being her knight in shining armour ...

Luv auditions, and full on squabble between SamGunji - he's prickling her big time! Final straw - he calls her 'old' and 'boring' ... she's wild ... poor Luv is lost, what's happening about his audition, 'cos SG are busy in their own drama!
Mayank quickly calls time out till lunch.
Gunji furious with Mayank - why are you siding him? M gives some lame explanation.

Jordan and Dana/Samrat and Chashmish
21st July
Let the games begin!!!
Starts with mayank the eternal tubelight finally lighting up ... Samrat loves Gunjan, and Gunjan loves Samrat, and it wasn't Samrat's fault entierly, even I told him to drive fast, so why am I standing against him? All he's trying to do is get back his love and his friend, get us all back together.
And so finally ... Sayank reunion ... a scene I liked because it stayed purposefully light - guys are NOT emotional as a rule ... Mayank tells Samrat that he always does things in a roundabout way, and now he wants him, Mayank to tell the counsellor that trustee Mr Shergill doesn't want her back for six months in college ... but for 6 janams in his life. And oh, that's not counting the present janam.
And so they hug, and Mayank is in the game. Poor Gunjan, she doesn't stand a chance here. Shukla sir, newbies, Mayank ... all are part of Samrat's army now!

Samrat announces annual play in college, and as counsellor is not there, mayank will handle the play.
At home, Ash gives gunjan the news, that Samrat told the entire college she ran away. Gunjan is hopping mad ... wrings out clothes as though she wants to wring Samrat's neck. Samrat also said that this was the counsellor's duty. Gunji even more furious - he said that too?! How dare he?!
Bingo - Jordan struck a raw nerve there! Right on target!
At college, Sam is busy mooning over Gunjan, will she, won't she ... second Sayank scene ... dosti firmly back on track now.
Next morning, irate Gunjan storms into Sam's office ... he's cool - you ran.
She- I didn't run, i'm not scared of you!
He - I don't believe you.
She - you mean nothing to me, but my students do, so I'm staying here and I'll show you!
He (nonchalantly, but andar hi andar ladoo phooting) - okay. welcome, Chashmish.
A final glare and she's out.
She goes where the students are lining up for auditions, and memories come back ... Sheena, Samrat and Gunjan rehearsing a scene where she had told him what she felt ... she pushes the memories back again, no, she won't think about Samrat again. But she WILL help with the play.
And so the games begin ... staff meeting, with suggestions from Shukla sir being nixed ... then Gunjan suggests a play with broken hearts, pain, separation ... Devdas.

So Gunjan, after all the attempts by the others to stop her from resigning have failed, makes her way furiously to find Samrat. But he finds her first. Did he know her resolve wouldn't be shaken by anyone? By anyone else, that is ... anyone else but him. Because he alone knows her so well to know how to push her, cajole her ... even seduce her ...
So Gunjan finds herself suddenly pulled into the music room, and by the time she whirls around, file dropping, Samrat is firmly locking the door. That itself is enough to send her senses scattering ...
"Yeh kya mazaak hai, Samrat?"
He turns from locking the door, and she forgets what she was saying as he starts walking towards her slowly ... he walks forward, she backs away, eyes falling from his, which are fixed in her, but she can't meet them. So she looks around the silent room nervously, not daring to look at him, till he says,
"Tumhari aankhen jise dhoond rahi hain, voh tumhare saamne hai, Chashmish."
And he moves forward again.
He's very close now, too close for comfort. She backs again, saying, much more nervously, weakly, "Yeh kya kar rahe ho? Samrat, ruk jao."
He doesn't stop. Did she really expect him to? With that purposeful look in his eyes, did she think her feeble words and even feebler tone would stop him? But why couldn't she be more assertive, more firm? Why was her breathing quickening, her heartbeats going wild with that look in his eyes? She was over him. Wasn't she?
One more try.
"Yeh kya badtameezi hai? Dekho ..."
Too late. The wall is behind her, Samrat in front. Nowhere to run and hide ... she tries, but he blocks her with one hand.
"Tumhare itne paas aane ke baad, main tumhe khud se door nahin jaane dunga."
No, he's not going to let her go so easily this time round.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Really, Gunjan? You don't know? How close you both were at one time ...
No, she doesn't want to remember ... or rather, she wants to forget, has been trying desperately to forget for the last three years ...
And she tries again, mustering up the courage from somewhere to look straight at him as he is looking at her ...
"Ab main voh Gunjan nahin rahi, jo tumse pyaar ..."
It was a mistake to look into his eyes. A big mistake. The way he's looking at her ... She falters, tries again.
"Jo nazdeekiyan haamre beech thi, voh vaqt ke saath khatam ho chuki hain. Ab na vo vaqt vapas aayega, aur na vo Gunjan."
And she knocks his arm down and starts to leave.
"Chashmish."
She stops again.
"Gunjan." Looking at him firmly, "Gunjan Bhushan."
And his face changes, and she does leave. Only to be stopped by his hand holding her, the way he stopped her so many times before. So many times ... when she stopped gladly for him ...
No. She will NOT stop this time. Angry now, she twists her hand out of his grasp.
"Mera haath chhodo, Samrat."
He doesn't.
"Maine kaha, mera haath chhodo. Samrat!!!"
Whirls around, He leaves her hand, and her bangle drops.
She drops to the floor to pick it up, he's there too, his hand coming over hers. She withdraws her hand quickly, she doesn't want that touch ... and stands.
He pauses, picks up the bangle ... and a small smile is on his face. He stands too. She holds out her hand, angry still.
"Meri choodi vapas do."
He backs slowly to the wall, holding out her bangle tantalizingly, challengingly.
"Aakar vapas le lo." ... if you dare.
She glares at him ... how she hates him! "Mere paas tumhare khel ke liye time nahin hai. Chhodi vapas karo, aur mujhe jaane do."
He holds it up, teasing her, prickling her.
"Choodi le lo ... aur chali jao." Implied ... who's stopping you?
She stares again. what is he up to? Steps forward, still annoyed and holds out her hand to take her bangle. He withdraws his hand just as she reaches out. Eyes steady on her, tone as steady.
"Aur paas."
Now she's nervous. angry still, but also nervous. Steps forward again, hand out to snatch ... but he's too quick ... again.
"Aur paas."
Holds it up, still teasing her, with that look in his eyes. One more time, she plucks up the courage, again he's too quick.
"Aur paas."
How much more? She's far too close already for comfort. Her comfort. He's looking as comfortable as he could be, cool, smiling ...
"Aur paas."
And now he's not smiling any more, his voice has dropped a couple of notches, and he's not taking his eyes off hers. She swallows ... she's in danger zone already and she knows it. No way is she going closer.
"Dekho, Samrat ..."
Before she can say more, she's whirled around by his arms, against the wall, almost into his arms, far, far too close for her liking. She stares back at him, and they both know what's happening. This was exactly why she was running ... but now she can't seem to move, even if she wanted to ... which she doesn't ...
And then he raises one hand and strokes it very gently down the side of her face, stroking the hair away ...
"zindagi do pal ki ..." an unforgettable night ...
No, she can't move. Her eyes fall, her heart racing, breathing fast, shallow ...
And he knows her fight is gone ...
He lifts her hand to his lips gently, she pulls it back at the first touch, but it's still in his hand ... as he slowly, oh so slowly ... slides her bangle back on ...eyes never leaving hers, holding hers locked to his ... as she looks down as he slides the bangle on ... as he had put the pendant round her neck, Nupur's wedding chunni on her head ...
And she looks back at him, naked love and longing on her face, her hand firmly in his, as he kisses it again, and this time she doesn't even try to pull it away. She can't. All she can do is look at him, helpless to stop her feelings from showing on her face and in her eyes, feelings he could always read.
"Whatever you say, Chashmish, your eyes speak a different language." His voice soft, husky, almost a whisper.
"Wrong, Samrat. Your mistake. I have only hate for you now. You don't know me. Everything has changed, and with it ... me."
He doesn't seem to listen. Or if he did, he pays her no attention. He kisses her forehead oh so gently.
Zindagi ... do pal ki ...
She closes her eyes helplessly at that familiar caress.
"Lies. Today too, when you stare out the window, it's me you're waiting for."
"No." Is that her voice? So soft, trembling? As though she's trying desperately to convince herself ... and failing miserably.
Another kiss. This time on one cheek. She can't move, can't breathe, can't think. Not when he looks at her like that, kisses her like that. Zindagi ...
"Aaj bhi, jab tum gaati ho, tum jaanti ho kahin na kahin main tumhe sun raha hun."
"Nahin." Even softer than the first, not a statement, but a plea ... you're wrong, please be wrong.
Another kiss, on the other cheek. Zindagi ...
he lifts his head, raises his hand to stroke her hair again.
"In these three years, you've missed me as much as I've missed you."
"Nahin ..." she's begging him now, please stop ...don't go on. I need to hate you.
Maybe not, he concedes, because he's missed her so much more.
And he pushes her glasses and flicks her nose in the gentlest of flicks.
"Chashmish. Meri Chashmish." Oh, yes, she's his. And as they gaze lost into each other's eyes, they both know it again.
And then the flashbacks come back .. of the accident .. no, she hates him now, for taking away Nupur ... from somewhere she gets the strength and pushes him away and tries to leave ... only to be stopped by his hand again.
"I'm going."
Can I ask why?
No. Because you;re no one to me now.
I'm not? But the college is, your students are, Why are you leaving them for me?
Because I can't stay where you are.
After being so close to you, you think I'll let you go?
I was never close to you. It was all deceit.
And now she's caught - another deceit is breaking your contract before 6 months.
She doesn't care. So the last throw of the dice.
You're going because you're scared - that you'll in love with me again. That you still love me.
A long pause.
I don't.
Then look into my eyes and say it.
She can't. She leaves silently, and almost runs out of the room. He follows her ... if she still loves him, she'll turn around.
She does.

And she looks back at him, naked love and longing on her face, her hand firmly in his, as he kisses it again, and this time she doesn't even try to pull it away. She can't. All she can do is look at him, helpless to stop her feelings from showing on her face and in her eyes, feelings he could always read.
"Whatever you say, Chashmish, your eyes speak a different language." His voice soft, husky, almost a whisper.
"Wrong, Samrat. Your mistake. I have only hate for you now. You don't know me. Everything has changed, and with it ... me."
He doesn't seem to listen. Or if he did, he pays her no attention. He kisses her forehead oh so gently.
Zindagi ... do pal ki ...
She closes her eyes helplessly at that familiar caress.
"Lies. Today too, when you stare out the window, it's me you're waiting for."
"No." Is that her voice? So soft, trembling? As though she's trying desperately to convince herself ... and failing miserably.
Another kiss. This time on one cheek. She can't move, can't breathe, can't think. Not when he looks at her like that, kisses her like that. Zindagi ...
"Aaj bhi, jab tum gaati ho, tum jaanti ho kahin na kahin main tumhe sun raha hun."
"Nahin." Even softer than the first, not a statement, but a plea ... you're wrong, please be wrong.
Another kiss, on the other cheek. Zindagi ...
he lifts his head, raises his hand to stroke her hair again.
"In these three years, you've missed me as much as I've missed you."
"Nahin ..." she's begging him now, please stop ...don't go on. I need to hate you.
Maybe not, he concedes, because he's missed her so much more.
And he pushes her glasses and flicks her nose in the gentlest of flicks.
"Chashmish. Meri Chashmish." Oh, yes, she's his. And as they gaze lost into each other's eyes, they both know it again.
And then the flashbacks come back .. of the accident .. no, she hates him now, for taking away Nupur ... from somewhere she gets the strength and pushes him away and tries to leave ... only to be stopped by his hand again.
"I'm going."
Can I ask why?
No. Because you;re no one to me now.
I'm not? But the college is, your students are, Why are you leaving them for me?
Because I can't stay where you are.
After being so close to you, you think I'll let you go?
I was never close to you. It was all deceit.
And now she's caught - another deceit is breaking your contract before 6 months.
She doesn't care. So the last throw of the dice.
You're going because you're scared - that you'll in love with me again. That you still love me.
A long pause.
I don't.
Then look into my eyes and say it.
She can't. She leaves silently, and almost runs out of the room. He follows her ... if she still loves him, she'll turn around.
She does.

Metamorphosis - Man and Woman
20th July
I always thought that the SG romance was too mature for a college romance, and it just ratcheted up a few notches ... into the love of a MAN for a WOMAN ... and that of a woman, for a man ... now this is getting very interesting!
As we discovered the similarities between Key of Knowledge and the current stage of SG romance, link of my post on that one

Says it all really ... the start of a new stage in their relationship, or rather, a re-definition and re-starting of their relationship, more intensity, more conflict, more passion, emotions running high ... because Gunjan is finally breaking out of that glass case she had enclosed herself in, and is beginning to feel again, to hate again, to get angry again ... and ultimately, to LOVE again.
And the expression in her eyes in the first scene ... when he's telling her what he still means to her ... her lips say "no" but her eyes say "yes" ...
And also loved the Majan scene at the end where she lets loose on a smirking Mayank - he's looking forward to this battle too, and he also has no doubts about the outcome. Neither does Samrat ... because Gunjan couldn't meet his eyes to say she didn't love him any more ... if her reaction to his closeness wasn't enough to tell him all that he needed to know.

Action and reaction
19th July episode
Gunjan blasts Samrat ... as expected. Walks off.
Samrat is unrepentant, says the old Gunjan was coming back, and he would do it again if he had to. Mayank puts his hand on Sam's shoulder, then follows Gunjan.
Gunjan asks Mayank if he knew about Samrat's drama, he admits he did. Gunjan walks away from him too.
Ro-Ash come in after football ... eyelock, Gunjan says they're leaving. Mayank enters, Ash can see Gunjan is not happy with Mayank. So Ash still doesn't know about Sajan ... probably still thinking Majan. Rohan realises, offers to drop the girls back.
next day, Gunjan decides to resign - as expected. Ria moaning over Mayank.
Mayank talks to Gunjan, asks her to give life a second chance. She says, she might not have had a smile for the last three years, but at least there were no lies in her life. Is Samrat going to disprove that one? She's not angry with Mayank, but with herself. Asks who the trustee is - mayank thought she knew ... it's Samrat. Gunjan still wants to resign.
Rohan Ria overhear. Sam, RR and L planning, Ash comes in, all four plan together. All newbies try to get Gunjan to stay - first Ria, then Ash with nautanki, even Shukla sir gets into the act, so do Ria and Luv.
Gunjan walks towards trustee's room ... Samrat pulls her inside music room. Angry Gunjan ... what's all this going on?
Silence. He starts walking towards her, she backs off nervously, he keeps coming ...
Precap left me dead ... Sam kisses her hand, her neck ... my guess for tomorrow - now tell me you're still indifferent to me. And if you are, why are you leaving? Win win for Sam.

Gunjan Ria counselling session. Ria is quite cute and innocent.
Samrat/SSC announces treasure hunt, girls vs boys. Small SGM scene - Mayank wondering what Samrat is upto.
Ash-Ria rivalry starts ... cute!
Small SG scene in library ... sigh.
Mayank-Ria-Luv scenes, RoAsh scenes.
Gunjan finds treasure - a friendship bracelet. And again memories come flooding.
And time for the grand finale .. picnic. Again, Mayank is very doubtful.
So next morning they leave. and as they wait, Samrat, Mayank and then Gunjan watch the new students and remember their own times.
And then Samrat offers that Gunjan and Mayank come with him. And again, all three are lost in memories, but this time the memories are not only of the accident, but also of mayank and Nupur egging samrat to drive faster, Samrat yelling that the brakes have failed ... and then the accident.
And Gunjan says, memories came back. So Samrat says, if memories become speedbreakers in life, then you've taken a wrong track. If there are problems, they have to be faced, you can't run away, cos if you're scared of facing them where will you get the chance to live?
And Mayank agrees ... and he goes off to his car. RoAsh get into Samrat's car with Gunjan.
In the car, Samrat asks Gunjan if she sings, and she says yes, she used to. And again, memories ... of Samrat and how he encouraged her. TP, Rose day, Khuda Jaane, the picnic with Sheena, bike rides, flowers, V night at the chai stall, cooking together, their first Diwali ... so many memories. And SSC ... who has woken those memories.

Gunjan-Mayank - Gunjan enjoying college, students ... and the trustee. And Mayank sees the change in her and her non-stop talk about SSC. And then Gunjan talks about Nupur, but for the first time, without tears. And Mayank's antennae are up.
First Ria tries to keep Mayank out, hiding SSC's name plate from him. She's successful in that, he goes in only after Samrat is ready.
Discovery - Mayank unmasks Samrat. Samrat asks him for two days. He just wants to see Gunjan happy. Mayank also realises that Gunjan has changed in just two days, he decides to give Samrat that chance.
Tea break - SSC and Gunjan :) Friendship, hot tea and mirchis. And she remembers another time and place, the tentative starting of another friendship ... he says, live life to the fullest, but don't hurt anyone. And she says, you should be the counsellor, not me.
AshRohan and poem ...
SG again ... how does he know she doesn't like mirchi pakodas? And she remembers again ... and he promises that he will be with her in happiness and sorrow, cos that's what friends are for. Friendship - and Samrat ... synonymous.

Sajan starting over
13th July
Papers flying, stranger to help ... deja vu ... how can she not remember? And then he picks up a fallen rose and gives it to her, and she is lost again ... in all the flowers she ever got ... only from one person ...
And he says he's very happy she joined, she asks why, and he says because this college and the people here need you ...
Sam welcomes Gunji with rose
RoAsh starting ... Ro gives her white and yellow roses, before he can give her the red rose, Sam advises him to slow down ... Sam should know!
SamRo see Gunjan going into class, still lost in her flowers ... and there's finally the tiniest smile on her face ... Sam equally lost in her ...
He joins her class and is so happy to see how she's grown in confidence and strength - something he always wanted and worked for ...
and finally, what I was waiting for - a lesson on life and moving on, making memories sweet, forgetting the bad ones. I thought Ash would do this, or Mayank, but it's only Samrat ...

Will SSC win over Gunjan and Mayank?
12th July
No surprises - Mayank doesn't recognize Samrat. Shukla Sir plays along ... along with the others, Shukla Sir is suddenly getting more screen space! So does Ria ... she's not as dumb as she looks.
Maynk wants to talk to Samrat about this new mysterious trustee ... Samrat struggles to get back to his room in time. Cliched, laboriously funny scene ... but again, Shukla Sir was good :)
Sayank scene was good, especially the emotional overtones in the latter half.
Gunjan's first day in Excel .. exit Samrat Shergill, trustee, enter SSC, trustee. All students welcome Gunjan with flowers to the bg of peppy title track.
Rohan gives Gunjan a flower ... is it because he reminds her of Samrat or what, but "kya Hua Yeh" plays as she walks ... and memories flood back again, of every flower Samrat ever gave her. And then a basketball hits her, her papers go flying and it's deja vu all over again, as she kneels to pick them up, lost in more memories ... as Samrat/SSC kneels with her ...

The "Interview"
9th July
The whole episode was basically Sam and Rohan, with Shukla Sir's help, planning Gunjan's interview, getting in Ria to keep Mayank away from the interview and finally, of course, the "interview". Sam as Sardarji was cute ... OTT, of course, but cute. And he did get a smile back on Gunjan's face ... wonder how Sanaya managed to keep a straight face all through the scene! She finally gave way at the end, and started smiling ... methinks she couldn't stop herself any more! And the flashbacks of the SG handshakes were sweet!
At the very end, Mayank bursts into the room ... now what will happen? If the precap is to be believed, Gunjan will join Excel ... does that mean Mayank keeps Sam's secret? And why? Because he has finally forgiven Samrat? Or because there is a baby?
Next week is ALL Sajan ... in fact, MJHT these days is ALL Sajan ... what total fun! The best part - now we see much more of Gunjan and her interactions with the rest of the cast, be it Mayank, Ash, Rohan, Ria and even Shukla Sir. She was badly sidelined during Nups' time, thank God that is over! All in all, the new season has more balance, with interactions between all the different cast members ... today, finally Mayank-Ash also shared screen space. Makes for a much more believable show.

SG do these intense scenes soooooo beautifully. They don't even need dialogues. Just the walk ... and the flashbacks. And then ... their trademark ... they TALK. Whatever they have to say, let out, it's only to each other. They never need anyone else.
Night, later. Samrat in the dark, vowing to get Chashmish back, get back the smile on her face.
Gunjan under a cold shower, she was trying her best to forget everything, but one look ... it takes just one look ... if she reaches out, she could touch him, feel him ...
But she has to forget ...
Ash reminiscing about Samrat, Rohan about Ash.

MaRia scene ... pink library! Will Mayank fall for Ria? she's definitely Nups' clone in Dia's dress! Equally brainless, and as mad about fashion as Nups was about films. Should appeal to Mayank ... he can play Prof Higgins to her Eliza Doolittle.

At home - Ash lost in dreams about Samrat again, Gunjan worried. Asks her directly about the mystery guy. Ash loses her temper, throws the glass of juice, tells Gunjan to leave her alone because she can manage her life, and Gunjan can't see her happy. Stomps out.
Gunjan worried sick. Remembers the psychiatrist (?) telling her that Ash can lose it any time. Looks like she already has. Gunjan decides to talk to Mayank.
Precap: Sam tells Ro that Gunjan will never come to Excel.
Looks like stage is set for Gunjan to come back to Excel. Yippeee!!!! Exactly the way I wanted!

Dragging again
6th July
Dragging with lots of unnecessary 'comedy' scenes between Ria and some newbie ...
Gunjan walking through corridor towards Sam's office, Ash panics and drags her away in the nick of time, and to throw her off scent, goes to sweet talk Rohan, who's rather confused, but thinks it's all due to guru Samrat's advice to ignore her!
Samrat waits for Gunjan to arrive.
Gunjan meets Shukla sir who praises her profusely, then offers condolences for Nupur. Ash drags Gunjan away.
Mayank calls Samrat and says he will not come for the party. Samrat vows that he will get the three of them back together again. He promises Nupur.
Ria dream sequence.
SamRo planning. Ash approaches Rohan, takes him off to the party.
Sam sees Gunjan ... puts on mask. twirls her, then vanishes, leaving her confused.

Gorgeous Gunjan

Ash tries to manao Gunjan to go for the freshers' party, Gunjan is ambivalent.
Gunjan at Mayank's house, wondering whether to go or not. Mayank debates internally (this guy definitely acts better with Sanaya than with Rati) and then gently pushes her to go. Tells her life is like an apple, sometimes sour, sometimes sweet. Reminds me of his comment about Rati and Sanaya - sour and sweet apples :D ... wonder if that was intentional. Get the feeling that Arjun is subtly getting his back on Rati fans for insulting Sanaya so much ... after all, Sanaya is a very good friend of his.
SamRo call GunAsh ... Ro trying under guidance of guru Sam to persuade her for the party ... Ash also tries, then Ash calls Sam ... four way conversation where Gunji wonders - if she is talking to Rohan, who is Ash talking to? Decides to go for the party, just to look out for Ash's mystery man.
Sam Ro hi5 - Sam says the whole universe is conspiring to make him and Chashmish meet again.
Riya rejects all the college boys as her date ... ripoff from KKKG
Ash says Samrat has made her change so much ...
Gunjan wonders how Ash has changed so much, and determines again that she needs to check out this new boy in Ash's life ... he can't be any good, otherwise why would Ash be hiding him?
Gunjan enters college, looking breathtakingly, mindblowingly, amazingly, awesomely STUNNING ... SG flashbacks ... lots of them ...

A New Dawn
2nd July
A new dawn for SaJan? A nice well rounded episode without any crying ... thatnk god they seem to be getting over Nups!
Sayank ... Samrat lost in dreams of Gunjan in the music room, determines to get the smile back on her face. Mayank sees the spark in his eyes and is happy for him ... then realises that Samrat is upto something ... the old Samrat is back ;)
Ria is the new Dodo ... and is the bane of Mayank's life. This girl is picking up ...
SamRo scene in bb court ... Sam the guru, Rohan the chela ... again cute scene, Sam wants Rohan to bring Gunjan to the freshers party. As plan B, he tells Ria to tell Mayank to come to the party with a partner ... if Gunjan doesn't come with Rohan, she will come with Mayank.
So off goes Rohan obediently ... this guy must be thanking his lucky stars! He only liked Sanaya from MJHT 1, and he's getting a full fledged track with her ... and such a cute track that it appeals to everyone! Another one bites the dust ... Sanaya's fans seem to grow in number everyday!
GunRo scene - hilarious ... she isn't even surprised he's come through the window, just mildly suggests he use the door some time.
MaRia scene - he refuses to go as her partner, she wants him to dress better. Okay scene. Fb of Nups ... thankfully, the only one today, and a short one.
GunRo scene ... DAMN cute scene!!! Rohan asks Gunjan to come as his partner, G surprised, why me? He tells her if he invites any college girl, he'll have problems, so better he invite her ;) Gunjan pretends to be overcome and delighted, humbly declines the honour ... hilarious to see Gunjan in this teasing, delicately sarcastic mode ... she does it so well! Never OTT, not hurtful, just getting it across amusedly.
But Rohan doesn't give up so easily, so Gunjan firmly says, no ... he pleads again, she says no again, he's on his knees ... and she turns to see him ... stops midway ... hilarious!!!
Another MaRia scene ... this time M gives in.
RoAsh scene- Ro tells Ash she doesnt do anything for her Di, she shd persuade her to come for the party.

Next week - Samrat says, all your no's are turning into yes's ... this whole kayanath is bent on ending our dooriyan ...

A New Start?
1st July
Gunjan still lost in memories, sees Sam in the mirror and comes back to her senses, horrified. How can she remember Sam, the guy who was responsible for her Di's death? She wants to forget him ...
Samrat hears, and is upset ... he's benn thinking only about himself, not about her and how lonely he has made her, the sadness he has brought to her life. He determines he will stop thinking about winning her back, but will only worry about getting the smile back on her face, the smile that has disappeared because of him.
Ro-Ash ...
Samrat leaves, Ash sees him go and stops him, he says he has to leave, she doesn't understand. He was so keen to meet her Di, and now he's just walking out? He tells her to drop it - she won't understand.
Sam-Ro ... Rohan has a new love guru, and Samrat has the help he needs.
Samrat in music room ... opens after three years, picks up a guitar after three years. And as he strums, Gunjan, in white ... sings Yeh Zindagi ...
and he promises again ... Chashmish will be back ...

Sam-Mayank-Shukla discussing how to improve college life. Mayank parroting what G said ... she has that effect on people! Sam says no, we need discipline. Sam lost in memories of V night, says no to any lightening of atmosphere.
Then he goes out ... and sees Gunjan. And Ash. G and Ash leave together, and Sam remembers how he always felt Gunjan when Ash was near him. So he's found Gunjan again. And now he's not gonna let her go.
GunRo - Rohan enters in Sam's patent style - thru the window. He's here to apologise to Ash for laughing at her, G says maybe she dressed differently for you. Sweet talks G, she gives him permission to meet Ash - but goes to call her.
Sam comes to Ash's house to meet Gunjan ... Ash completely misunderstands why he's come, tries to hide him as Gunji enters ... Sam lost as soon as he hears her voice. Ro follows Gunji, RoAsh talk while Gunji goes to make coffee.
Gunji in kitchen, reminiscing about her days with Samrat ... Samrat listening ... yummy scene! Beautiful Sajan fb's, interspersed with present day commentary, Gunji remembering, Sam vowing never to let her forget.
But Gunji wants to forget ... :(
And Sam vows to bring back the smile to her face ... :)
